Ok this was supposed to be chapter 9, but I realized another one would be better, so chapter 10 instead!

Takeru walked tiredly as he headed to the school, the events of that day were still fresh in his mind, the lookalikes of both himself and Sakuya, that weird reaction from both Saya and Rekka, nothing makes so much sense anymore, but he just downed it as he headed to Kai Rebirth.
"Hello Takeru-kun!" Sakuya greeted as she was accompanied by Saya.
"Oh hi Sakuya, Saya-san." He greeted. "So I guess that the Esuka group approved you sleeping over at Sakuya's?"
"Yep!" She nodded. "Thank goodness, it was so boring, 'do this, do that do this and do that.'" She muttered. "But it's fun being with Sakuya-chan! No orders to this and that! Saya is happy with that!"
"Yes yes." The younger Bermuda triangle player smiled as the trio headed together. Today Takuto was supposed to unveil the new Imaginary Gifts and would be asking them to try it out. And as they arrived at the school, they were surprised to see Claire and Satoshi with a young girl that looked about 8 years old.
"This is your school?" The girl asked.
"Yep Akemi, this is the school."
"Yooo, Satoshi, Claire!" Takeru called out as the trio turned towards him. "I see we're last this time, who's the young girl?"
"My daughter." Satoshi deadpanned.
"Haha very funny. Seriously though."
"Hi!" The girl greeted before she gave a bow. "I'm Shindou Akemi! I was playing in my room when suddenly I was in some area late at night, that was when Mr Satoshi and Ms Claire found me and invited me!" She gave them a beaming smile which just made the Royal Paladin player look accusingly at the siblings.
"You adopted her didn't you?" He accused Satoshi via their best friend mind conversations.
"Yep, definitely did." He smugly replied.
"That explains it." He sighed.
"Akemi huh?" Sakuya asked as she approached the girl with a smile. "What a beautiful name."
"Thanks! You know, you remind me of Tsukasa-nii and Ruby-nee." The girl beamed as Takeru and Sakuya both froze.
'Oh no… not again.' They thought.
"U-uh ok?" The Royal Paladin player really didn't have much to say. "A-Anyway, let's go in, Takuto-san is waiting for us."
"Right." With that their entire group entered as they saw Takuto, with three people. One a young man with snow white hair with blue dyed streaks on his bangs wearing a black shirt and a hooded long coat that has fake fur at the edges of the hood. On his next was a single pair of silver headphones. For his lower half he wears a pair of white gray baggy pants and dark blue combat boots.
The next man who seemed to be the oldest has a chiseled and well-muscled physique with tanned skin to go with his short shaggy brown hair and amber golden eyes. He was wearing a simple blue dress shirt and a black waist coat with the sleeves rolled up to his forearms and finally, dark brown cargo pants.
The last boy was the youngest who had flat blonde hair and green eyes to go with his fair complexion. He is wearing a white dress shirt and dark blue tie with golden crown designs on them, beige pants, and a dark green bomber jacket.
Claire immediately recognized who they were.
"Ah, glad to see you make it." The head of the Tatsunagi corporation said, on his side was Rekka and Bella who were already checking the cards. "As you can see, your opponents today will be Team Try Angel. They also have Imaginary Gifts like yours so we can test their effectiveness."
"Yooo, Claire, you still there?" Takeru asked as he snapped his fingers in front of her face, considering that she was a fan of the trio.
"Yes Takeru." She flatly replied. "Now move your fingers off my face you're blocking my view."
"So you'll be our opponents huh?" Hiroto, the guy with blonde hair said. "Can't wait."
"Before that though, you should take this, so far they work, but I'd rather run it through to be safe." Takuto said as he handed cards to Claire, Satoshi and Sakuya, but when he was in front of Claire though, he handed her another one of Narukami. "I know you never use it anymore, but it still feels right I give you this, after all, your mentor would have wanted you to take it."
"I see…" She said as she stared fondly at the card she got, Dragonic Kaiser Vermillion a bit before noticing something. "Hey hold up, why is my symbol yellow instead of blue?"
"Ah right, I forgot to tell you, in our experiments, we realized that each clan had different kinds of gift, the one that Takeru, your brother and Sakuya have are the Force Gifts, which gives 10000 power to any circle, for decks like yours and mine that focus on aggression, we have the Accel gift, which allows us to create a new rear-guard circle and give it power."
"So we have defensive ones too?" Takeru asked.
"Yep." Rekka interrupted. "The one me and Bella have are the Protect gifts, think of it like a free Perfect Guard."
"I see…" The Royal Paladin player nodded as he saw his friends leave to implement the cards into their deck, noting as well that Sakuya had Saya helping her out in reconstructing her deck.
Akemi though was staring around the place.
"This place is really nice!" She commented before she tugged Takeru. "Takeru nii-chan, do you always go here with the others?"
"Yep, we do, always even when Kai-san-" He cut himself off, he knew it was a sore topic for all of them, none of them knew where he went, still, this girl was innocent so he just smiled. "Yeah, we always go here."
"Ok!" The girl beamed.
"This is going to take a while so I'm going to get some popcorn." Rekka commented.
"Popcorn?!" The young Shindou immediately was in front of the Angel Feather and giving her puppy dog eyes. "Please get some for me too!"
"Ok ok I'll get for you too." She patted the girl's head as she left.
After 30 minutes, Takuto had called everyone together and assigned who would face who, Sakuya would be facing Iori first, followed by Satoshi vs Hiroto, and lastly, Claire would be facing the oldest of Try Angel, Akashi.
"Alright, I'm first…" The Bermuda Triangle player said as she looked at Iori, who just took of his headset and activated his FPD as well which generated a holographic field for him as Sakuya did so with hers.
"Good luck." He commented.
"Right… you as well."
"Stand up, Vanguard!"
"First Lesson, Akari!"
"Undying Departed, Grenache!"
As they did so as the field then simulated an underwater battlefield, behind Sakuya was a mermaid with pink hair while a pirate with a black color scheme appeared.
"Granblue…" Takeru commented as he watched the match in progress.
"Well, I guess this will be interesting then." Satoshi watched, although Sakuya just grit her teeth as the game progressed.
'We're going into my first stride turn.' She thought. 'But dang, he really did a good job setting up his drop zone, now he can just freely call stuff without using anything from his hand.'
"It is kinda sad that she had opted to not ride the Imaginary Gifts." The Concert Master noted.
"I mean, would you blame her?" Claire countered. "It doesn't work well with any of her cards, and Ange is pretty much the only viable ride she can do right now."
This had continued on for a few turns, but Iori had persevered, pulling of a triple Vanguard attack using Bad Bounty and a new Seven Seas card that Takeru hasn't seen yet.
"No guard…" Sakuya merely muttered as she revealed the 6th damage. "Thanks for the game."
"Same." Iori replied as he left to return to the others as he looked at the Imaginary Gift Protect that he didn't use.
"The next game will be between Satoshi and Hiroto." Takuto announced and as the game progressed.
"I attack your Vanguard!" Akashi declared as Satoshi was forced to take 6 damage, signifying his loss.
'Asura Kaiser…' Claire thought. 'I saw the Immortal Asura Kaiser there… both of them had decks revolving around possibly having their Vanguard's attack multiple times.'
"Satoshi nii-chan!" Akemi beamed. "You were still great!"
"Thanks," he then patted the girl's head for a bit before looking at his deck.
'Still though, what kind of skill is this on Gallop? It doesn't even work well with the older cards.' He thought.
"That leaves the last ones, Akashi and Claire."
"Good luck Claire," Takeru said.
"Thanks." The girl nodded as she met her opponent.
"Stand up, 'The' Vanguard!"
"Fetter of Leather, Leyding!" Akashi declared.
For the third time the field activated, this time showing nothing much going on
"Here we go," Takeru commented as they watched, the field activating as it showed what seemed to be a Great Nature classroom, Akashi's starter appearing behind him as behind Claire a white bear appearing.
"Gifted Bear"
'Great Nature…' Akashi thought as he drew a card. "I ride Oblation Regalia, Var." He declared as he his Vanguard transformed into a smiling young shrine maiden. "I move Leyding to the bottom left. I end my turn."
"I go into my turn then." Claire said as she drew a card. "Ride, Coiling Duckbill, I move Gifted Bear behind my Vanguard."
The Bear was then substituted with what seemed to be a duck covered in paper, the bear though taking their position behind the duck.
"Gifted Bear's skill, I rest them, reveal a Chatnoir from my hand, add an Honorary Professor, in this case another Chatnoir to my hand. I attack your Vanguard!" She declared.
"No guard."
"Drive Trigger, check." She said as the top card was shown.

"Damage check." Akashi replied as the card was shown.

"I end my turn. Bear is retired, and I discard the Chatnoir I added."

"I then call another copy of Var." He called the card to the bottom right. "I use Norn's skill." He said as he paid a counterblast. "I draw a card, and I put the Var in my soul into my rear-guard as a Divine Gauge."
"Divine Gauge?" Claire wondered.
(Divine Gauge(DG): Oblation Regalia, Var on RG Var)
"Yes, it is putting a card in my soul under my rear-guard."
"So basically, the rear-guards have their own soul…" Takeru noted.
"I then soulcharge 2 since I placed a card as a Divine Gauge."

"I call! Twilight Hunter, Artemis!" Akashi followed up as an archer appeared. "Artemis attacks your Vanguard."
'He's not boosting?' Claire thought but took advantage of it.
"Guard." She said using a copy of Geograph Giant from her hand as a panda appeared to protect them.
"I attack with my Vanguard." Akashi followed up.
"No guard." Claire said.
"Drive check." He noted as the top card flipped blue. "Stand Trigger. I give all power to Artemis." With that finished the girl aimed at Claire's vanguard as energy seeped from the vase they were holding as it went towards its target.

"No guard." Claire repeated as Takeru and the others winced at what the card was.

"No guard." He said, knowing that it's his only way of gaining more damage.

"Stand and draw." He began. "Ride! Cosmic Regalia, CEO Yggdrassil! Imaginary Gift, Force!" He noted as he placed it on Artemis' circle.
At his words, Norn was replaced by a lady in a regal outfit similar to the one prior as she reached her hands out.
"I use Var's skill, I place their Divine Gauge into the drop zone, I then soulcharge 3."

"I then use Ceo Yggdrassil's skill! I call Norn from my deck behind my Vanguard, and then put a Divine Gauge on her as well as Artemis. And with Norn's own skill, I pay a counterblast, draw, and then put a divine gauge on Artemis one more time, and then call, Thrud! Thrud's skill gives herself a Divine Gauge when called."
To the left of Yggdrassil, a swordswoman appeared wielding her weapon ready and waiting.
"Thrud attacks your Vanguard" He said as he rested a rear-guard.
"Guard." Claire replied using Triangle Cobra.
"I use Thrud's skill, I move the Divine gauge on her into Norn, draw a card and then I attack with my Vanguard."
"No guard."
"Twin drive!" Akashi began as Yggdrassil and Norn combined their powers to attack.

Even though the attack had hit, Yggdrassil didn't even seem to run out of energy, instead.
"I use Norn's skill." Akashi immediately called out. "I put the Divine Gauge from Norn into my drop zone. I then discard a card from my hand, Yggdrassil stands, power plus 10000 and critical minus 1." He then immediately discarded the Angelica he drew.
"Oh man." Takeru noted. "That just means that he has two attacks left."
"And with that skill, they're not losing anything without Norn's boost." Satoshi noted.
"I attack with my Vanguard again."
"No guard."

"Power to Artemis, critical to my Vanguard."
"Damage check…" Claire replied as Mathilda was one more hurt from the attack.

"Heal trigger." She healed a damage.

"I attack with Artemis." He called out as he placed yet another gauge on Var.
Since she was at 4 damage, Claire allowed the attack to hit to bring her up to 5 damage.

With that in place Claire then followed up with a card sent to the drop zone, another Chatnoir. "A story of a new legend is ready to be written, weave me that future! Stride Generation! Omniscience Dragon, Cath Plug!" She then did it in quick succession as the cat only had a few seconds before it turned into an animal sitting on what seems to be a throne with a book on their right side.
"Call!" Claire began. "Binoculus Tiger, Geograph Giant, Tick Tock Flamingo, Crayon Tiger. Geograph's skill, they are on an additional circle. So they get 8000 power. Cath Palug attacks your Vanguard."
As soon as the allies had arrived the dragon only raised its book as it readied itself.
"No guard." Akashi replied.
"Drive Check." She began.

"Front trigger, I give my front row 10000 power."

"Critical trigger, power to Geograph, and the critical to Cath Palug."

"I attack with Binoculus Tiger!" She called out. "Skill activated. Counterblast, I reveal the top card of my deck."

"Oh that sucks…" Takeru noted.
"But since it's a trigger unit she can use its skill." Satoshi added.
"Since it's a trigger unit, I retire Leyding, and Binoculus, Crayon and Geograph get 5000 each, also with Cath Palug's skill, I pay a counterblast and give 4000 power to Geograph."
"I guard with Kukurihime" He replied.
"I attack with Geograph!" Claire began. "I then give him another 4000 with Cath Palug's skill."
"60000…" He muttered. "Generation Guard! Sky-Dome Battle Maiden, Hanasatsuki! Skill activated, I have another copy of Norn still in my soul, so I get 10000 shield." He finished as his Vanguard and shield increased. "And then guard!" he used Achils and Skoll from his hand.
"I attack your Vanguard with Crayon Tiger! With its skill I give 4000 power to Geograph and stand them." Claire said as she used her last counterblast. "Cath Palug's skill happens one more time, towards Geograph."
"Guard!" He noted as he added two more cards from his hand.
"I attack your Vanguard with Geograph!" She declared as her Vanguard's power increased to 68000."
Akashi though looked at his hand and checked its contents.
'It won't do… I only have a copy of Skoll and Gleipnir in my hand.' He then closed his eyes as he then uttered out.
"No guard." He called as his damage check was revealed, showing no trigger while at the same time Geograph threw the globe it was carrying straight towards Regalia who had no choice but to take it.

Well that's it guys, I had actually planned for this fight to have one more turn, but I realized it would be impossible for Claire to survive this even with the draw power she got… so I had the fight end here, still I hope that you all enjoyed this and I'm sorry if it seemed a bit out of place, this fight was being created when Tahro just got banned and I had to go around in circles trying to fix this fight to make it doable for both sides. Anyway, that's it, see you all next chapter.
