Chapter 17 LET'S GO!

A Meeting, Iris vs Rekka
Rekka looked up at her wits as she checked around the area.
"This is the place?" She asked her companion.
"Yes Rekka-san." Akashi replied, he had been assigned by Takuto personally to accompany her here, so he did his job dutifully. "This is where we tracked the lookalikes to."
"I see." The place they had tracked the two seems to be a building that was slated to be repaired. "Well then, do you know where they are?"
"Yes, our tracker says that they're over that way." He replied as he pointed deeper into the building. The building was a dark place and slated to be torn down. "They're using this to be demolished building as their headquarters."
"I know we're looking for lost cargo for about a week now, but I didn't think they'd be the one to take it."
"Yes Rekka-san, but we need to find them, this might be the only chance we get of actually being the one to go to them, rather than the other way around."
"You're right, let's go." She said as the two walked towards it, although the second they went through it, they found themselves in an open area, with no one around. "They're not here?" She realized in alarm before realizing that the tracker that they were looking for was in plain view on the floor.
"Took you long enough." Jude's voice was heard as he entered besides Iris. "I was wondering if you would come, although it's a shame that the other girl isn't here."
"Why do you want Miss Saya?"
"We told you before." Iris, the Sakuya look-alike began. "We wish to ask her questions."
"You could have done that properly you know, instead of just skulking around." Akashi pointed out.
"I don't know, is that what you say to the people who stopped your precious cargo from getting taken?"
"What do you mean by that?"
"Oh, they didn't tell you?" Jude began. "I'll say it then. You even have enemies here. And they're already here, you just don't know them yet."
"You mean like you?" Akashi quipped.
"… Ok I brought that on myself." He realized. "Regardless, you're not here just to talk aren't you?"
"No, we're not, we wish to give you an invite to talk to Takuto, he wishes to talk to you."
"Takuto… my teacher said that he is a bit, interesting."
"For what reason do you want me and Jude to come?"
"It's to talk about where you're from, if you're willing to talk about it, we can get that conversation between you and Miss Saya if you come."
"My teacher knew someone who used to say that everything is revealed in a Vanguard fight." Jude said. "If you fight me, I'll see what you have to say."
"Let me do it Jude." Iris began.
"But, Iris, it might-"
"We're not THERE anymore." She comforted him. "It won't happen here. Please, trust me."
"I… I… ok." He said, although Rekka noted that it was odd how he was overprotective.
"I'll face you then." She began. "I might have faced your companion before, but I really wanted to face you myself."
"I hope you don't mind then if I use this card?" Iris asked as she showed the girl a copy of the newly made card with an Imaginary Gift.
"Yes, I don't mind if you use Venus too." She quipped, making both Iris and Jude look at her with focus as they both set their starter.
"Alright then miss Rekka." With that both girls set a card on their starter.
"Stand up, Vanguard!" Both fighters called out as their device manifested a field around them, one that seemed to be a sort of circus show, with Iris on one side, and Rekka the other.
"First Aid Celestial, Peniel!"
"Silver Thorn Beast Tamer, Emile!"
Beside Rekka a young angel had appeared holding what seems to be a lunchbox, and on the other end a girl in a circus outfit was smiling mischievously.
"I'll go first then." Iris started things off. "I discard Lilian to ride Silver Thorn Assistant, Irina." She said as a female appeared holding what seems to be a stick on her hand. "I move Emile behind my Vanguard, then I use her skill." She said as she immediately moved it into her soul. "I can choose to put a Grade 1, 2 and 3 into the soul, I choose to put Venus Luquier into my soul." She said as she placed the card into it while returning the rest to her deck. "I end my turn."
"It's my turn now." The Angel Feather player looked at the 6 cards in her hand, and selected a Sariel from her hand to discard. "I discard Candle Celestial Sariel to ride Spine Celestial, Jophiel!"
To take the place of the young girl, another angel with needle guns flew down in front of her, smiling before aiming at Iris' vanguard.
"I attack your Vanguard!" (Power: 13000)
"No guard!"

"I end my turn." Rekka said as Akashi meanwhile had turned on a camera in his outfit in order for Takuto to observe.

"Draw." The girl with cream hair began. "I discard Dixie from my hand to ride Silver Thorn Diva, Selvia." She added.
Appearing to dazzle her opponent, Irina took out a magic hat and after putting her wand through it, had a lot of doves appear from it, surrounding her, and when the doves are gone, so was her, but instead a girl with green hair appeared giving a bow.
"Irina's skill, since I rode on her, I look at the top 3 cards of my deck, and put any amount of Silver Thorn into the soul." She said as she fanned the top 3 cards. "I put Natasha and Zelma into my soul." She said as she put both cards there. "I then call Silver Thorn Marionette, Lilian! And with her skill." She said as she paid a counterblast. "I put Silver Thorn Beast Tamer, Maricica into my soul. " To follow up, a doll with strings attached appeared holding a blade, while the green haired girl prepared to attack.
I attack your Vanguard with Selvia." (Power: 9000)
"No guard."
"Drive Check."

"Draw trigger!" Rekka said. "I draw one card." She then looked at what she got as her unit was hurt by the attack.
"Lilian attacks your Vanguard, with her skill, she gets 10000 power since at least 4 of my Silver Thorns in my soul have different card names." (Power: 19000)
"No guard." She repeated as she took another damage.

"Draw trigger!" She repeated. "Again I draw." This time, the slash was also a successful attack.
"I end my turn."

"Stand and draw." Rekka said. "I discard Hessediel to ride Candle Celestial, Sariel! And then I use her skill!" She continued as she paid both a counterblast and a soulblast. "I search my deck for a card to add to my damage zone, I choose Frontal Celestial, Mel'ejal!" She said as she placed it there. "I then heal a card, I will heal one of the Battle Cupid Nociel I used as cost." She then smiled as she pointed to Jophiel in her drop. "Her skill when I rode on her, I exchange a card between my hand and my damage zone, I exchange Hessdiel for Nociel." She said as she added another Sentinel to her hand. "I then attack your Vanguard with Sariel!" (Power: 14000)
"No guard." Iris replied.

"Heal trigger…" She noted with dismay.

"Stand and draw." She began as she looked at her field. "I discard Selvia." She said as she discarded the card. "The Show Must Go On! Come forth! Queen of Silver Thorns!" She said as she revealed a Grade 3. "I ride Silver Thorn Dragon Tamer, Luquier!" She called out as the unit appeared and cracked her whip. "And then, Imaginary Gift, Accel!" She said. "I'm sure you must already be aware of the 10000 power increase right?" She then pointed out as she began calling. "Come up onto the stage, Silver Thorn Upright Lion, Silver Thorn Breathing Dragon!" She added this as two members of her circus show appeared.
"It has begun." Jude noted.
"Alright, first off, Upright Lion attacks your Vanguard!" (Power: 19000)
"No guard." Rekka said as she took damage.
(Damage Check- Prophecy Celestial, Ramiel)
Breathing Dragon boosts, Lilian attacks your Vanguard! Skill activated!" She added as Lilian powered up. (Power: 27000)
"No guard." Rekka said as she took damage Sariel got slashed.
(Damage Check- Battle Cupid, Nociel- Draw)
"Draw trigger! Power to my Vanguard!"
"Skill activated, I pay a counterblast and move Lilian into the soul, I then from the soul call out Silver Thorn Assistant, Zelma" She said as she called it behind her Vanguard. "With Zelma's skill, I put Upright Lion into my soul to call Lilian back out. Then, since I have moved enough cards out of my soul this turn, my Vanguard gets 10000 power. Now, Luquier attacks your Vanguard!" (Power: 29000)
"Perfect guard!" She said as she discarded a copy of Ramiel, and in the field the angel appeared to block the attack.
"Twin drive."

"I give all effects to Lilian, she then attacks your Vanguard!" (Power: 39000 and 2 critical)
"I guard with both Jophiel and Raviel!" She replied as the two angels appeared to protect Sariel, making Rekka sigh in relief as she was almost ended there.

"Stand and draw." Rekka began. "I discard Jophiel, Chaste maiden who can hear God's voice, heed His words to protect your loved ones! I ride Prophecy Celestial Ramiel!" She smiled as the angel appeared with both her weapons to support her. "Imaginary Gift, Protect!" She smiled adding it to her hand, although she paused for a bit to make her decision.
"Will she stride?" Jude wondered as he watched, curious as to her decision, while at the same time, Iris is having the same question as well.
"Is something on your mind?" She asked.
"Yes, I'm thinking about what I should do."
"… Then, can I ask you one question?"
"Go ahead."
"Are you… do you know the importance of getting Venus?" As she asked that, Rekka just stopped looking at her cards and looked at Iris, her eyes one of sorrow.
"I do… Venus is Luquier after she was Reversed."
"… So you do know… if I may, were you-"
"I was." Rekka confirmed as both Jude and Iris looked in shock. "… But that was then, and I'm not that anymore." She said as she skipped her stride step and went to her main phase. "I call Mel'ejal and Narelle!" She said as she called the archer to the front right, and the nurse, to the bottom left.
"You're not going to stride? That is what most of you do here." Iris questioned.
"Striding isn't everything." Was the reply as she pointed to her units. "Narelle's skill, I exchange a card between my hand and the damage zone. "I call exchange Sariel and Nociel. This then triggers Mel'ejal's skill to give both her and Ramiel 2000 power." She said as she got yet another sentinel into her hand. "I call Wild Shot Celestial, Raguel!" She followed as an angel with a bigger needle gun appeared. "I use her skill, since a card was placed in the damage zone this turn, I pay a counterblast and call a card from my drop zone, I choose Hessediel." This time an angel with a purple blade appeared.
'A full field.' Iris thought. 'And with Mel'ejal powering up her Vanguard, that might be trouble.'
"I attack your Vanguard with Mel'ejal."
"No guard." She said as she revealed the top card. "Draw trigger!"
(Damage Check- Silver Thorn Marionette, Natasha- Draw)
"I now attack your Vanguard with Ramiel, skill activated." A soulblast was paid. "I countercharge 1, then stand all of my rear-guards that share the same card name as a card in my damage zone. I have a copy of Mel'ejal and Hessediel in my damage zone, so I stand them, since I stood 2, I draw a card and all of my rear-guards get 5000 power until the end of turn." (Power: 24000)
"No guard." Iris called.

"Critical trigger! Power to Mel'ejal, and critical to my Vanguard!"
(Damage Check- Silver Thorn Assistant, Irina)

"Raguel attacks your Vanguard!" (Power: 26000)
"I guard with Barking Dragon." The dragon appeared to protect Luquier from the incoming fire as Mel'ejal aimed her arrows.
"Mel'ejal!" (Power: 39000)
"Generation guard." She said as she placed the card. "Chainsaw Megatrick, Furnival, with its skill." She then looked at the top 3 and placed Upright Lion into her soul. "Shield plus 5000." This time a being had appeared to protect Luquier from the assault, literally using their weapon to cut the arrow in half.
"I end my turn."

"Stand and draw." She said before revealing another copy of Luquier from her hand. "Looks like it's time for the climax! I ride her again! And then Imaginary Gift, Accel!" She added as she set it. "Then call! Silver Thorn Assistant, Irina! With her skill, I look at the top 2 cards of my deck, put one into my soul, and one at the bottom." She then looked at the two as the girl returned. "I put Zelma into my soul." She then placed the other card on the bottom of her deck, although interestingly, she had called Irina in front of Breathing Dragon.
'Looks like she's going for game.' She thought.
"I attack your Vanguard with Irina!" (Power: 16000)
"I guard with Bellyful Meds Angel!" Was the counter as it was protected.
"With Breathing Dragon's skill! I counterblast and put her into the soul, I then call out a Silver Thorn! I choose Silver Thorn Diva, Selvia!" She then pointed to it with a smile. "I call 2 Silver Thorns that don't share the same name as her to separate rear-guard circles! I call out Zelma and Upright Lion!" She smiled as the unit appeared. "With Zelma's skill!" She said as she moved the other Zelma to the soul, I superior call Maricica!"
'Oh this is bad…' she thought.
"I attack your Vanguard then!" She called out. (Power: 22000)
'I don't have enough cards in my hand.' Rekka thought. "No guard!"
"If she gets a single critical, Iris wins." Jude said.
"Rekka-san…" Akashi was worried for the girl as he watched.
"Twin drive!"
(Drive Check- Silver Thorn Marionette, Natasha- Draw)
"Draw trigger!" She said assigning the power to Maricia.
(Drive Check- Silver Thorn Juggler, Nadia- Heal)
"Heal trigger!" She called out. "I heal one damage and give power to Selvia." She said although slightly dismayed the critical did not come. The leader then cracked her whips and tore into Rekka's Vanguard.
"Damage, check!" She said, and it glowed yellow. "Critical trigger! I give the power to my Vanguard!" She called out. Then with Mel'ejal's skill, both her and my Vanguard get 2000 power!"
(Damage Check- Hot Shot Celestial, Samyaza – Critical)
'That was way too close!' she thought.
"Maricica attacks Mel'ejal!" (Power: 19000)
"In that case, guard!" She said as she used Critical Hit Angel to block the attack.
"Lilian!" (Power: 29000)
"Perfect guard!"
"Selvia!" (Power: 27000)
"Intercept!"
"Upright Lion! With his skill, he gets power due to other cards called from my soul, a total of 6000!" (Power: 25000)
"Protect!" She called out as she used the last card in her hand as the lion's attack was thwarted.
"So close, I end my turn!" Iris smiled.

"Stand and draw." She said as she reset her field.
'That was way too close.' She thought. 'If I didn't get that critical trigger, I would be dead.' She then looked at the card she drew. 'Oh no, this isn't enough… what should I do?' she noted before looking at her damage zone. 'Wait… that's it!'
"At the start of my ride phase, I put the top card of my deck into my damage zone face up to then add a card from my damage zone to my hand." She then beamed when she realized that the top card was Narelle. "I add Prophecy Celestial Ramiel to my hand, Mel'ejal's skills activate and I ride the Ramiel I added to my hand!" She continued. "Imaginary Gift, Protect!"
'That's three cards in her damage zone that share the same name…' Iris noted.
"I use Peniel's skill!" She said as she moved it to the soul, I call a card from my damage zone!" She noted as she selected Sariel, although her opponent wondered why it was placed behind Ramiel instead of the front row.
'A card that can't boost, why- FOR SARIEL'S SKILL!' she realized.
"With Sariel's skill! I pay her cost, Counterblast and Soulblast, and from my deck add a card to my damage zone, I then heal!" She noted as she revealed a card from her deck. "I add Dosage Celestial Asmodel! And then I heal Samyaza! I then call Asmodel!" She smiled as an angel carrying a huge pill appeared.
'All of her cards will stand when her Vanguard attacks now!' she thought.
"I activate Mel'ejal's skill twice!" She said as it got another 4000 in addition to the 2000 from earlier. "Here I go Iris."
"Come at me!" She said although she was worried for her chances.
"I attack your Vanguard with Asmodel!" (Power: 16000)
"I intercept with Selvia!" She added as the girl blocked the attack.
"Mel'ejal attacks your Vanguard!"
"No guard!" She replied, hoping for a trigger.
(Damage Check- Silver Thorn, Barking Dragon- Critical)
"Critical trigger!" She smiled as her Vanguard increased in power.
"Ramiel's turn! But Sariel's skill!" She added, "If I only have one or less face up card in my damage zone, she gets boost!"
"Oh no…" She realized as she had to guard with more cards.
"With Ramiel's skill, I countercharge 1, then I stand all of my rear-guards that share the same name with a card in my damage zone! Since I have 4! They all gain 10000 power and I draw 2 cards!" She added. (Power: 35000)
"Generation guard again with Furnival!" She said as she looked at the top 3 and winced.
'Good call then, I wouldn't have won if these cards were on top of my deck.' She thought as she moved Lydia into her soul. She then added Natasha from her hand as the other Marionette appeared to help protect Luquier. (Total: 47000)
"Twin drive!" She called out.
(Drive Check- Holy Edge Celestial, Malchidael)
(Drive Check- Critical Hit Angel- Critical)
"Critical trigger! I give all effects to Asmodel!" She declared triumphantly as Iris realized that she can no longer guard both.
"I attack your Vanguard with Asmodel!" (Power: 46000 and 2 critical)
"Perfect guard!"
"Mel'ejal!"
"… No guard." She said as she was forced to reveal the top card of her deck.
(Damage Check- Silver Thorn Dragon Empress, Venus Luquier)
"It's my loss." She said as the units vanished. "It was a good game Rekka-san."
"Same Iris. If I didn't get a good start, I was certainly done." Was the reply. "So, about Takuto?"
"We accept. But we want a meeting with Miss Saya, and we get to keep the cards." Jude counter offered.
"Deal."
"You got this all Takuto-sama?"
"I did, bring them to the headquarters, and look into their lead." The Concert Master told Akashi. "If what they're saying is true, then it means that the enemy has infiltrated our ranks and messing with the shipments."
"As you wish."

P.S. There was no copy of Doriane in the shipment the two had found, so Iris couldn't use it in her deck.
