Chapter 45: Fighting a Mermaid(Chloe's POV)
Chloe waits with Marmora, still surprised they are supposed to fight against a mermaid. Whose race is a myth and now they have to face one created by Hawkmoth. And she thought the rising water was weird.
She looks at Marmora and wonders why he won't reveal that he is Keith to Adrien. After all it would make their dynamic so much easier and they could all meet up to discuss their superhero duties without waiting for their daily patrols to take place at night.
And then Adrien appears out of the water in his Chat Noir superhero suit, surprising her.
"There you guys are!" Adri…Chat exclaims.
She nods, "Yeah I was waiting for guys and Marmora ended up almost drowning himself facing the akuma alone."
Marmora huffs, but doesn't say anything. "Really? Well that doesn't matter. I have something that will help us with that actually." says Chat.
Chat lifts up his hand and shows them a blueish green liquid inside a vial. "This is a potion that will help us with movement and fighting underwater that the person who gave us our miraculous gave me."
"Then the training he's been giving you is paying off." Chloe says, surprised that the kwamis could have this type of power. She just thought that the kwamis, tied to their jewels, just gave them one form of power. Not that with the help of potion could they receive a power boost for a particular situation.
She looks at Marmora who isn't giving any hints of surprise when she mentioned training. Which makes her relieved as they do have the mermaid akuma to catch which is a bigger problem.
"So how does it work?" asks Marmora.
"Simple, we each detransform and give our kwamis some of the liquid inside, then it transforms them into Aqua something and then we transform again. Simple as pie."
Chloe takes the vial, "Alright we'll detransform and then we'll join you…"
"At the Piscine Pontoise Quartier Latin swimming pool," Marmora interrupts, "It's where I saw the akuma first, so I bet it will be heading there again with Kim."
Chat nods, "Thanks and I'll see you guys soon."
Chloe looks on as he dives under the water and swims away. "Alright Honeybee shall we see if this potion works?"
She nods as Marmora shouts, "Roaar unpaint my stripes!" Which reveals Keith as he holds up the potion.
"Okay Roaar try not to drink all of this as Honeybee needs some for her kwami."
Roaar nods and drinks some of the potion before handing it back to Keith. Whose hair still looks drenched from before when she pulled him up. It hurts her that she can't spend more time with him because of Adriens constant texts about her pretending to be hanging out with him because the Guardian wants to train him so he has an alibi for Gabriel.
Then a purple light engulfs Roaar for a split second before dispersing revealing the kwami to have gained dark purple fins like the color of her three head stripes. It shocks her to say the least as she didn't think this was possible.
Though Keith doesn't seem bothered by it.
"Alright AquaRoaar, paint my stripes!" Keith shouts and the kwami goes into his panja bracelet which is red with a purple paw on it while in his civilian form.
After the transformation is complete Marmora's jacket is gone, he also has purple fins that protrude out of his boots and his superhero outfit has scales that are defined by white lines. Which makes her blush, as Keith looks handsome in that outfit.
"Alright Honeybee, see you at Piscine Pontoise Quartier Latin swimming pool when you've finished your transformation." He hands her the potion and then waves before diving head first into the water, making a splash.
"Pollen Buzz Off."
After she opens her eyes, she finds Pollen floating in front of her. "Wow my Queen, I didn't think the water would rise so far up."
"Neither did I. Anyways, here's a potion that should give you underwater powers."
Pollen takes the vial and gulps it all down. Yellow light engulfs her and then dissipates revealing Pollen to have black fins.
She breathes deeply, here goes nothing. "AquaPollen Buzz On!"
After transforming she dives into the water, not wasting a second to get to the swimming pool so they can defeat the akuma once and for all before Paris permanently becomes an underwater city.
Swimming towards the Piscine Pontoise Quartier Latin swimming pool she notices that the city seems dead. And eerily quiet. It makes her shiver. And she notices that most of the city's streets are empty of cars, as they are floating around in the water, while street lamps and trash bins aren't. Must be because they're bolted down.
Eventually she makes her way to the swimming pool and finds that Marmora and Chat are already engaged in a battle with the mermaid.
Quietly she slips up behind the mermaid as she hears shouts, "You won't get my Prince! I'll find him and he'll be mine. Not yours or anybodys!"
Chat smirks, "I do believe she's got it all wrong Marm."
Marmora nods, "Indeed, we're just saving Kim from you. Not wanting him all to ourselves like you think."
"No matter because I….." "Venom!"
Her shot paralyzes the mermaid. "Nice going Honeybee!" Both feline superheroes shout.
"Thanks," Chloe says as she smiles. A lot of akumas have been dealt with easily because of her venom. It isn't as complicated as Ladybug's lucky charm, but it still gets the job done.
Chat swims over to the mermaid and grabs the bracelet the mermaid has off of her arm. And then he breaks it, a little akuma butterfly flies out and Chat grabs it. "Cataclysm!"
The akuma turns to dust and the water disappears, causing all of them to land in the swimming pool. Chloe bursts forth out of the water and gets out of the pool. Well that was easy. The fighting. All I had to do was say venom, stab the mermaid and the fight was over. Fights like these were nice, as it didn't require any strategy except get close enough to the akuma and paralyze them so Chat can destroy the akuma butterfly.
Simple and easy.
Sitting close to the edge of the pool she watches as Marmora comforts the girl they saved from Hawkmoth's influence. Keith really is great at this. That and he mostly fights the akuma as somehow he has experience with hand to hand combat, though from where, she couldn't guess.
That and Keith didn't tell her. Not that she minded, as having his skills are an asset to this team.
Chat comes over and helps her up. "That was easy wasn't it?"
"Yeah,"
"Much easier than the Le Hibou battle, right?"
"Mhm, mhm. And then we also had Marmora as well."
"Well see you."
"See you." Chloe says as she watches Chat take off.
Later In the day:
Chloe lounges in bed, wishing Keith could be here instead of doing modeling practice with Adrien. Especially since the fight with that mermaid was something they should celebrate as they freed Paris from being a sunken town.
Oh well, she sighs.
"Mademoiselle Chloe, a is here to see you regarding something about an art class that draws superheroes that you are supposedly in." says her butler.
"Alright let him come in." She says, curious to see why this ' ' is here to see her.
As soon as he walks in, Chloe is shocked to see that it's the man at the Bakery who gave her and Keith their miraculous. What is he doing here? And also doesn't he go by Master Fu. Why the fake name?
"Chloe it's nice to meet with you face to face."
"Likewise ' '."
"Here is a box of Chili Peppers that are infused with different potions. And here's a list of what the colors mean. You should have these on your person at all times. Also here's my phone number so you can text me when you run out."
Chloe nods, "Thank you. But are you sure it's wise to give me your phone number?"
"Quite sure. As you already have my Guardian in training's phone number and I won't be able to help you, Adrien or Keith all the time."
"Fair."
"Now I must traverse to meet with Keith to give him potion infused brownies and then head to Adreins place to give him potion infused camembert."
Chloe cocks her head, "Why separately?"
"Because Adrien does not know Keith is Marmora like you do Chloe. And before you say I force him, it is up to Keith to decide as I can't tell you what to do all the time. That isn't what a Guardian is for."
Chloe sighs, "I guess. But still, thanks for the aquatic potion. It really helped today."
"You're welcome. Now I must be off. But it was nice chatting with you."
Chloe nods, "Bye ' '"
And the old man walks out of her room and she collapses on her bed, holding the box of Chili Peppers. Pollen flies up to her. "My Queen, are you okay?"
"Yeah, it's just that a lot has happened in this first week of November. It's crazy. There was the Le Hibou fight a couple of days ago and then today the water rose and then we had to fight a mermaid akuma and then we got aquatic super powers to help fight the mermaid. And it's just been a hectic first week."
"But my Queen you'll get through it, even if you need some time to digest what has happened so far."
Chloe nods, "Yeah you're right."
And Keith and Adrien are by her side, so that helps to. And it has been hectic, not just the first week of November but the end of September and the October month as well. Keith came to their school, then after two weeks the Despair incident happens and they become friends. Then after a week they become boyfriend and girlfriend and then they become superheroes. Fighting akumas with Chat Noir. Then Keith gets his leg busted, and while it's healing is mistaken as Marinette by her grandmother and gets kidnapped. Then after it heals the Le Hibou and the Le Hibou akuma happens and now the mermaid incident.
So yeah a lot has happened. But hopefully they can get through this together.
Author's Note: Alright I feel like it's time to explain how Chat's Cataclysm of the akuma butterflies works. So when Chat cataclysms the akuma and turns it to dust it rids the effects of the akuma, but not the damage that is caused by the akuma. So for insistence the water that came because of Syren is an effect of the akuma which is why it disappeared. Unlike the whip cream mess Le Hibou made because that wasn't an effect by the akuma, rather damage taken in battle. Anyways I hope you enjoyed this chapter:)
