Chapter 48:Going to the Ice Rink(Adrien's POV)
"Hey Keith?" Adrien asks Keith, who is playing foosball with him.
"Yeah?" Keith says and he looks up from the game. His purple-gray eyes looking at Adrien.
"I sort of asked Kagami to hang out with me at the Ice Rink later today, to try and get to her to have fun."
"That's great!"
He nods, "Yeah it is. It's just that I asked her to just go with me. And I'm nervous about being alone with her."
"Sure I'll tag along. Want Chloe to come to?" Keith asks as he leans on the foosball table, looking at the game.
"No!"
Keith raises his eyebrows and cocks his head a little. "I mean….If she comes Kagami will think it's a double date as almost everyone knows you two are dating."
He hopes that the explanation makes sense to Keith. He would've added that most movies and shows and anime often make a boy ask a girl to hangout as liking them. And he knows that he isn't into Kagami like that. And Ice Skating will a nice escape from Guardian training and whatever his dad wants him to do.
And he hasn't hung out with Keith in forever. As his schedule has been busy, managing piano, chinese, school, and Guardian training.
"Makes sense."
"Really?"
Keith sighs, "Obviously you don't want Kagami to think you're romantically invested in her. As you just want to be friends with her, right?"
Adrien nods.
"So I'll go with you."
"Great!"
Keith leaves the foosball table.
"Where are you going?"
Keith looks down at him from the stairs, "To get ready for the Ice Rink, unless you'd prefer for me to freeze?"
Adrien smiles, "Well then I guess I'll get ready to."
Plagg floats up out of his pocket. "I still think you should go after Kagami. After all, Ladybug isn't coming back anytime soon."
"How do you know? My Lady could be back here within a week from whatever she's doing."
Plagg gives him a pointed look, "Look, kid, don't you find it odd you find Keith on the same day you couldn't find Ladybug anywhere? And that mysterious jumpsuit he wore the day you found him? You told me you couldn't find anything that resembled that purple jumpsuit."
He scoffs, "Keith isn't responsible for Ladybug's disappearance."
"I wasn't saying he was. I'm just saying that I think it's a weird coincidence that you found Keith, while you lost Ladybug and that the jumpsuit is odd."
Adrien pouts, but doesn't say anything else to his kwami. But it is weird that he found Keith instead of Ladybug and now she's gone. Vanished into thin air. Could Keith really be the reason for Ladybug disappearing and not telling anyone where she went? But how? And Keith's jumpsuit was odd, and he did have some wounds and bruises.
But does that mean?
Plagg returns to his pocket a millisecond before Keith walks down those stairs.
He wears a bright red winter jacket, a deeper red scarf is wrapped around his neck. His boots are plain black.
"Guess I have to wait for you to get ready, huh?"
Adrien nods, goes to his room and quickly picks out a winter jacket suitable for the Ice Rink. Still a little unnerved from the questions Plagg posed to him. Is that why Keith is still a little secretive. As Adrien doesn't know anything about Keith's home life, other than his dad died approximately some months ago.
Still unnerved he looks at the clock on the wall. 1:50pm. Still got time to go to the rink at 2:30pm and meet Kagami there.
Walking out his room, he stretches. Yep the Ice Rink will be an escape from thinking about a lot of things.
At the Ice Rink:
"Hey Kagami!" Adrien greets her outside the Ice Rink.
Kagami looks at him, and then to Keith.
"Hey, Adrien and Keith."
"Hope you don't mind I decided to crash you and Adrien's hang out." Keith jokes.
"I don't mind."
Though a little bit of disappointment shines through her eyes. Adrien swallows, hoping she isn't too upset with his decision to bring Keith along. It's just a little nerve racking to be alone with a girl who isn't Ladybug.
Once inside and handed their skates, Adrien struggles to tie them. His father never took him skating, and whenever he suggested it, his father would say he doesn't have the time. Which is unfair! But whatever, it's fine.
Keith looks over at Adrien and sighes, "Tying skate laces is the same as tying your shoelaces."
He just gives Keith a blank look.
Keith gets up and walks over. His skates are already on. So Keith has already experiencing ice skating and Kagami probably has to.
"Hey, are you paying attention as to how I'm tying up your skates?"
Adrien nods. But still he can't help but think he'll look like a fool in front of Kagami and Keith. And Ice Skating was his idea.
Oh well. At least it'll be fun learning this new skill set. Regardless, it helps him in real life. And he should learn how to skate in no time, so they can just spend the time skating and having fun, not worrying about teaching him the basics.
Yep, it should be fun.
Author's Note: Sorry for the delay of getting this posted. I had a hard time figuring out what I wanted to do with the Frozer episode in this fic, and it didn't help that I had a plan for the Style Queen chapter(s). So the Frozer turned into a two parter. Also Encanto has been on my mind ever since my family watched it, because I really enjoyed it, so that didn't help. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this chapter:)
