Chapter 49: Fun Gets Ruined Again by an Akuma(Keith's POV)

Keith stumbles a little bit. It's been so long since he ice skated. It was mandatory in Elementary school, for some reason. Considering we were all out in the desert. But then again most kids wanted to skate how they were shown on T.V.

But at least Adrien and Kagmai are having fun.

"No, you have to skate like this," Kagami says to a confused Adrien.

Keith watches as Kagami skates. Her feet go forward and then backward. She stops by standing still and making herself turn around, stopping the momentum. Adrien then tries and almost perfects it, except falling trying to turn around to stop.

He skates over and helps Adrien up, "You almost got it."

"Yeah, stopping and turning around are now the only things I have to work on."

Kagami says, "Well you're progressing very fast for it being your first time."

Adrien blushes and rubs his neck.

A figure skater skates up to them, the figure skater is dressed in a bodysuit which is all white. Keith eyes the skater, he looks like that famous figure skater in Paris that is supposed to be a 'ladies man' from what he's vaguely heard about him.

"Would you teens mind giving me a signature to save this fine establishment?"

Why would this figure skater need a signature to save the Ice Rink? And it's a little suspicious the guy just asked for them now. Instead when they were just starting.

Kagami glares, "Give me one good reason to."

"Because the Mayor wants it to be a jewelry store and there's plenty of those. He even came up with a sob story that involved his daughter. As if I would believe that. His daughter is completely selfish."

Now this makes his blood boil. Chloe has made considerable progress in limiting her selfish desires. And has made progress to be a decent human being. But no one is not selfish. He has been extremely selfish, picking fights with people who deserved and didn't deserve it, wanting to be alone because that's what he thought he deserved. Keeping the knife and fighting for it, instead of giving it to the Blades, because he just had to know who he is.

Although that quest has been put on hold due to all the things that have happened since he came to Paris.

Keith replies, "Just you saying that the Mayor wants to turn this Ice Rink into a Jewelry Store doesn't give us enough proof that's what he said."

The figure skater turns his back on us and mutters, "Fine. You teenagers wouldn't understand anyway."

Adrien looks between him and Kagami, a little confused, probably, about what happened with that figure skater.

"That was weird," Adrien comments out loud.

"Yeah, but it's over and done with. Let's continue to skate and let that figure skater deal with that signature thing he was talking about. Assuming it's true."

Kagami nods, "Yes."

But suddenly a chill enters the atmosphere, making Keith see the breath everyone breathes out in white clouds.

"I'm going to check what the sudden chill is about." He says and skates off, leaving Kagami and Adrien behind. He dials Chloe's number. Please pick up, he thinks as he skates…Wait skating out of the rink? That shouldn't be possible.

And he realizes that along with the chill, a slick covering of ice covers everything. Which makes everything sparkle in light.

He bursts through the entrance door to the inside of the Ice Rink. The Sun glares at him as the doors open. The roads and buildings are also slicked with ice. So this means that an akuma is responsible. It reminds him of the mermaid akuma who, a few days ago, covered Paris with water.

Chloe answers his phone, "Hey Blondie."

"Hey Raven."

"Did you see Paris? It's covered in ice. I was at the Ice Rink and I felt a sudden chill and then I discovered everything was covered in ice."

"No, the ice hasn't reached my family's hotel yet. But I'll find a way to escape my daddy as he wanted me to spend all day with him, learning about Mayor duties. And wait…What were you doing at the Ice Rink?"

"Adrien wanted me to be the third wheel on his date with Kagami."

"I see. Well go after that akuma, and hopefully I'll meet you and Chat Noir there."

"Bye."

"Bye."

Keith hangs and slips his phone into his coat inside pocket. Then he skates to an alleyway.

"Roaar you can come out now."

"I was wondering when you'd let me out! It seemed like you were in that Ice Rink for forever."

"Nevermind that, we have an Ice akuma to beat."

Keith takes out a small round container and takes the lid off. Inside are brownies, each one having a different color.

"I'm guessing that this is the Ice powerup." He states as he picks out an ice blue brownie from the container. Roaar licks her lips as he holds it.

"Uh Huh. Now give it to me!"

Giving the brownie to her, he sighs. Roaar always gets like this whenever brownies are concerned.

She eats it in one gulp and an ice blue light engulfs her. When it's done Roaar has one icicle on her forehead, ice covers her forepaws and she herself is now white. Like a white tiger.

"Now say IceRoaar paint my stripes!" Roaar yells.

"IceRoaar Paint my Stripes!"

When the transformation is done he skates down the icy roads. The whole city looks like an ice wonderland as everything is sparkling underneath the sun. Which makes it a little hard to see anything with everything sparkling. But he'll be fine.

Skating towards the Eiffel Tower, he notices that the ice hasn't totally engulfed the buildings. Which means the akuma is close.

Eventually when he reaches the Eiffel Tower, he discovers it is being engulfed in ice. The akuma stands close to the Eiffel Tower, admiring the ice being added to it.

He stops and tenses, getting ready to fight.

The akuma turns around, and Keith sees that the akuma looks a little bit like Jack Frost, with the blue skin and ice blue hair, which looks like ice spikes. And on the akumas chest is an white snowflake. His skates are ice blue and darker blue.

"So you've come to see the magnificent Frozer figure skate, huh. Or perhaps you're here for Frozer to teach you how to skate. As you're wearing skates yourself, Marmora."

"No, I'm to fight you in order to get Paris rid of the ice that has engulfed it."

Frozer sighs, "Such a shame. And yet with your outfit you would have made an excellent figure skater. As your white tiger theme with hints of ice would've made figure skater fans go wild. Though you might want to lose the jacket and dye your black hair white to make it fit in more with the aesthetic you're going for."

Keith stands his ground, and suddenly he can hear skates skating towards him. He looks to his left and finds Chloe in her Honeybee outfit. She has a crown of five icicles on her head, making her look like a queen. She also has a skirt of ice protruding from her waist. And her boots are now black and yellow skates with an ice blue diamond on the center of each of them.

Looking to his left, Chat just has skates added and on his arm are three icicles from where he can see. And his waist has a circle of icicles, with the one going down the side of his thigh being the biggest.

"Oh, so it'll be a three on one battle. Fine with me as I have the superior skating skills, so your powers won't do much." Frozer boasts.

"We'll see." Chat growls.

Frozer starts to skate and Chat goes for him, trying to hit Frozer with some swipes but Frozer dodges every single one with his figure skating skills.

Keith goes in to help, managing to hit Frozer on the cheek with his superior combat skills. His puch sends Frozer backwards, flying a little, until landing on the ice.

Chat breathes heavily beside him, and Keith is unsure if the punch managed to keep Frozer done.

The figure skater swiftly skates to his side, but before he can punch, Keith ducks by squatting, and sweeps the leg using his foot, causing him to spin a little from the momentum of swinging his foot.

He stands up and looks at the fallen Frozer who gets up.

"Nice move sweeping my leg, but can you keep it up, Marmora?"

"Bring it."

But Honeybee, having enough, skates up to Frozer from behind, "Venom!"

Frozer turns around to Honeybee before his whole body is paralyzed.

"Alright, Chat, do what you do best."

Chat sighs, "Thanks for stepping in, I'm not used to skating all that well."

Honeybee smiles, "Well I couldn't let Marm carry the fight now could I, kitty?"

Keith rolls his eyes, as Chat goes to cataclysm the skates.

"Wait Chat, let me break the skates, as you need to cataclysm the akuma."

"Fine."

"Collison!"

A white energy engulfs his fist as he punches the skates. The skates break, releasing the akuma. "Cataclysm!" yells Chat as he grabs the akuma, turning it to dust. The ice starts to leave in glitters of blue light, disappearing into the sky.

The skater also returns to normal, although he is wearing skates. The skater looks at us confused as we fist bump on Chat's, "Pound it!"

Keith wobbles a little bit as he helps the figure skater up. "You're safe now."

"Thank you. I just wish my Ice Rink wasn't getting closed down because the Mayor wants it to be a Jewelry store. I guess I'll have to find another City to own an Ice Rink in."

Honeybee gasps, "That's horrible. You've been getting customers right?"

The skater nods, "But the mayor only cares about his daughter and her wants and desires."

"Don't worry I'll talk to him." Honeybee says darkly. The Figure skater brightens up, "Thank you! But I have to check on those four kids. I left them unsupervised."

Keith takes this to leave, "Well I hope Honeybee is successful, but I've got to go. See ya!"

He starts to skate on the remaining ice back to the Ice Rink. He slips into an alleyway just before his miraculous beeps and detransforms him.

His kwami appears and Roaar's tummy grumbles.

He pulls out a brown sack, and takes a regular brownie out of it. After his kwami is well fed, he skates as fast as he can back to the Ice Rink. Luckily he gets back before the Ice completely disappears. Breathing a little rapidly, he enters the Ice Rink to find Kagami waiting on the bench which is opposite to the front desk which is on the right side.

"Yo, Kagami!"

Kagami sits up, " I was wondering where you went and me and Adrien agreed to look for you. I haven't seen Adrien since, because we split up, but geez. Also why are your skates still on?"

"Oh I decided to go to the Eiffel Tower after I noticed that everything was covered in Ice. I watched Honeybee, Chat Noir and Marmora beat this figure skater based akuma."

"Nice."

Adrien walks up to them, "Sorry, I got a little lost. This facility has three other skating rinks. And a lot of washrooms."

Kagami says, "It's fine. But I better get home. My mother wants me home before dark."

Keith looks at the clock, "But it's only three hours to sunset."

"Well I told her I was sparring with Adrien one-on-one. And I don't think she would think it would take about two hours and thirty minutes to spare with each other before getting bored."

"Bye, then." Adrien says, a little disappointed.

"Bye. It was fun, the time we actually spent skating."

He waves goodbye at Kagami. Well it was fun, the fighting the akuma part, because it was a little boring watching Kagami teach Adrien how to skate. Other than that, the day turned out okay. Though winter break ends Sunday. Though they do have a fashion show. The centerpiece being Marinette's bowler hat that she designed before taking his place as the Red Paladin. Well that should be fun as well as skating.
