Chapter 53:We Learn of an Alternate Reality(Allura's POV)
Allura stands stunned as the Prince Shiran, who looks like Shiro, goes back into the vent, grumbling. The Altean Akira, who looks like Keith, apologizes, "I'm sorry, he gets that way whenever someone mentions his family legacy. I must go after him to make sure he doesn't get into trouble. But it was fun briefly meeting you all."
Marinette smiles, like she isn't fazed at all, "That's alright Akira."
Akira scoots back and goes into the vents. Allura looks around looking at the others. Queen Allura? She isn't a queen and there isn't any group called the Dragons of Altea. And that Akira looked so familiar to Keith and Shiran to Shiro.
It makes her heart pang, as she misses them both. Shiro for being a great leader and Keith because, well, she did have a little crush on him and Shiro. But that doesn't matter, Shiro is dead and Keith is living out his life on planet Earth.
But those two Alteans stirred up the feelings she buried a long time ago.
She hears footsteps and turns around to find Olkari. The Olkarian in the middle holds a green battle helmet that has lighter green highlights and green suit armor with a darker green symbol that looks like a gear. And the Olkarian has pointed blue eyes, with a slit like pupils, while the rest of her troops all have their helmets on.
"What do we have here? Some humans(she sneered when she said the word humans) and an Altean(she said the word Altean with surprise)."
"Commander…" calls out an elderly looking Olkari who has a green lab coat on. He has glasses on with dark green rims. His coat is buttoned up and he is wearing brown pants with darker brown shoes.
"What is it Snivus?" asks the Commander, annoyed.
"These people are the ones who piloted those lion esk ships. They can help us get the comet so we can fully arm ourselves against the Dragons."
The Commander's eyes light up with delight. "Listen up people. We are the Olkari and we strive to bring peace to the Galaxy, but the Dragons of Altea always interfere with us since their version of peace is different. Those fiends have infected the minds of Alteans, the greatest alchemists. As such we are at a standstill in this war."
"Yeah right, we're not just going to trust you on the spot. As you don't have proof to back up your claim." Marinette states boldly.
"You would do well young human to listen to us. We can tell the story in greater detail to you and that Altean while the rest of you help Snivus with getting that comet."
Snivus nods his head, "Quite right Commander Kithren."
Marinette sighs, but doesn't say anything. Looks like they have no choice but to follow those Olkarians. Except they can't be bad. As we are in the same universe. But that armor isn't what the Olkarians use now. Did they upgrade their armor while we were away, practicing in our lions and making the Voltron Coalition.
No Ryner said nothing about that before the Battle at the Galra headquarters. And the Olkari Commander talked like they are the only ones striving for peace.
That doesn't make sense.
They come to the bridge of the Altean ship, and no skeletons are to be found. The bridge is also empty and the window for seeing the stars and messages is black. Like it hasn't been used in a long time.
"Alright, since you seem not to know of our story I'll tell you." Commander Kithren says. Although she looks quite pleased to be sharing the story. Which strikes Allura as odd.
"Once we lived on our planet, Olkari, but then the Galra came. They tried to stop our progress on a rift exploration on our planet, even though we gave them the means to build ships that would be stronger than anything. They destroyed it. We hunted them down in vengeance, their leader, Emperor Zarkon, too afraid to risk the ships he made fall into our grasp. Once Altea learned of this, their King and Princess felt we had not done what was right and took up arms against us and called their military the Dragons of Altea in honor of the ships Emperor Zarkon made. We just want peace, while the Alteans continue to fight pointless battles, despite our attempts to end this peacefully. The ships are lost to time and despite our attempts over the eleven thousand years to find them. We haven't been successful. Which is why we need this comet. We can show you our world if you don't believe us. Just drive the ship out of the rift."
Allura absorbs the information in shock. It sounds like we're in a Alternate Reality. But that can't be. But the Commander is standing right there, with her version of what happened. And it explains why the uniforms of the Olkarians are odd. But still, and Alternate Reality? Where the Galra were the ones to make ships out of a comet that gave them the power to bring peace. And where the Alteans lived but decided what the Olkari had done to the Galra was inexcusable creating a war lasting for eleven thousands years.
That's insane and crazy. But didn't father say that Alternate Realities are real. I didn't believe him then, but the evidence is stacked against me. As proof is standing right before me.
But then, is Commander Kithren's version of events true that the Olkarians are the bringers of peace to the galaxy, or are the Dragons of Altea the real bringers of peace?
