*Cedric's POV*

I was brewing a potion when a knock sounded at my door. I opened it and saw Sofia standing there.

"Well if it isn't the Princess. What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Well, my teachers need a substitute for my sorcery class and I volunteered you to do it." she said.

"And why would you do that?" I asked.

"Because your the best sorcerer and it could be a chance to show the others how good you are. Plus we have vex vine in the greenhouse." she said.

"How'd you know about Vex Vine?" I asked.

"Your potion book is open and your vex vine is out." she said. "You can go get some after the class is done."

"Hmm. Alright Princess." I said.

"Yay." she said with a grin as she left.

Oh bother, I just volunteered myself to teach a class didn't I? Well, can't back out of it now. And so the next day, I resume the bouncing spell lesson. It also just happened to be Hexley Hall prank day. I tried to stop them but they stuck me to a chair and had a mustache growing. Sofia was the only one who had gotten the spell first try and the others were trying. I had to help Vivian out because she kind of reminded me of well, me. I told them the sorcerer's secret of never giving up. I found that I quite enjoyed teaching the class and taught the rest of the class for the day. I got my vex vine for my potion and headed back to the castle. On the way back, Sofia had sat herself in my lap and congratulated me for doing such a great job. I wanted to take over the kingdom to show them all that I really was great, but that was starting to change. Sofia had included me in her little family and I liked being a big brother. She saw my potential. So I decided to do the things I was asked of to the best of my ability. That's how I will show them that I am good.

*Jade's POV*

After a crazy couple weeks, Ruby had a fairy godmother help her with the Dinwiddie Pedal Race but Sofia managed to convince her that a little help was okay but it was better to do things on your own. Sofia, Ruby, and I were playing dazzle ball. An announcer announced that the King's Cup between the Royal Redhawks and us the Dunwiddy Ducks takes place next week.

"Wait, Sofia's a Royal now. So does that mean that she'll play on their team this year?" I asked.

"I'll always be on your team." Sofia said.

So we practiced some more before she ran off for lunch. I was having a little trouble seeing and Sofia suggested glasses. I took her advice because she's usually right and got glasses. I could see so much better now and we had a better chance at beating the redhawks. I was a little worried that Sofia would play with the royals, but she stuck with her promise of playing with us and we won. Sofia and I had the idea of combining our acrobatics with dazzle ball and clued Ruby in on it. So when Sofia got cornered, she jumped and kicked the ball towards me. I jumped and grabbed it before throwing it to Ruby who scored by kicking it into the goal, winning the game.

"Yay, we won!" I said.

*Miranda's POV*

I had been looking for Sofia when she comes running into the castle. She asks if Wee Sprites can come and stay for a sleep over. I told her no and she didn't listen. So when I found out that she didn't, she apologizes. I told her that the only way to get rid of Wee Sprites is to make them say they want to leave out loud. Sofia, in a bout of defensiveness, told me that she couldn't see how it would work.

"Sofia, your inability to just trust others around you made you not listen, which caused the problem in the first place. If you want to break the curse and get back to normal, you just need to have faith and listen to me." I told her.

So she does as she's told and she gets back to normal. We had the party but Sofia was quiet. That night though, I couldn't sleep for some reason. I had a mother's intuition of unease and so I went to check on my kids. James was fine as was Amber. It wasn't until I reached Sofia's room that I heard small whimpers. I opened the door to see Sofia having a nightmare.

"I trusted you. No. Never. No. Stay away." she muttered.

I tried to wake her up but it didn't work. She sat up with a short scream. I reached for her but that small movement made her snap her attention to me and scrambled away. She fell off the bed onto her back. I went around to help her but all she did was press herself into the corner. I watched helplessly as she tried to calm down. I tried to help but all it did was make her tense more. Luna had gone up to Sofia and curled around her, though as soon as the tail made a loop around Sofia, she panicked more.

Oddly enough, it was Cedric who came to help. I watched as Cedric calmly talked her down. He was the one to get her to calm down enough to recognize her surroundings.

"Big brother." she muttered.

I was shocked that she called him that, but the soft look in his eyes I knew I had to let her call him that. He gave me the creeps but after seeing him be gentle with my daughter, I would give him a chance. She curled into him and he just put his arms loosely around her. She turned in his arms to see me.

"Mom." she whispered.

Her blue eyes widened in realization and she looked down.

"Sofia." I said gently.

She backed into Cedric's arms a little.

"Sweetie, it's just me. It's okay." I said.

She relaxed a little before telling me about one of her close friends. It was one of her very best friends, even moreso than Ruby and Jade. She told me that he had used her to become popular and as soon as he was, he turned the village on her. I looked at Cedric to see his reaction and saw that he had a determined look on his face.

*Cedric's POV*

After hearing her story, I had to reassess my plan. I had to decide if her friendship was worth more than the kingdom. I tried to think of it, but my heart wasn't there. It was trying to comfort the girl in my arms. A girl who had to deal with much more in her short life than most people do in their entire lives. She was kind because she didn't want anyone to feel like she did. Right then and there, I decided that taking over the kingdom wasn't worth losing her friendship, not when I was considered a big brother. I had someone who supported me and I wasn't going to give that up for people who couldn't see pass their bias.

*Helen's POV*

I told the troop that we were going on a hike to Swamp Rock hill and Sofia was excited. It was also interesting because Amber was coming with. I was amazed at how well Sofia's negotiating skill was because I was expecting Amber to be in a fancy dress, but she wasn't. She had come in a comfy looking dress and was ready for a hike.

We were walking there and Amber didn't really complain, though that might be because of Sofia talking to her about what nature had to offer. We stopped at a float fruit tree and Sofia threw a fruit down to Amber, who caught it. We saw a sweet skunk too and Amber was rethinking the whole wilderness thing. It was good because I found a good spot to set up camp. As we were setting up, with Sofia helping Amber as she already set her tent, Sofia froze. I saw her sniff and her facial expression changed.

She dove for her bag and whipped out a sword. She fended off the attacker and had bested it. After the attacker flew away, she sniffed again.

"Ms. Hanshaw, there's a storm coming." she said.

"Well we'd better put up the rain guards." I said.

The girls put up the tarp and secured them good. Sofia made food for us and we ate good meat. Sofia had earned the bravery badge and I gave it to her.

*Unknown POV*

Damn that princess was good. I was sure she couldn't hear me approach. I attacked her and she fended me off with a sword I had no idea she had. She actually beat me. I flew back to the Isles and reported in about the child. The chief was impressed by her work and thanked me. I could see why she held an interest in the girl. For now, we had our own problems to worry about, trouble was arising again so I had to tend to that.

*Helen's POV*

We continued the hike and found the star stones. Ruby and Jade managed to find Mossy and made friends with her. After a bit of a rough start, Amber let go of her princess attitude and actually had fun. I decided to make her a Buttercup and she agreed.

*Sofia's POV*

At breakfast, dad was talking about Carol and the Merry Band and how they help out. We went grape picking so we could test Gwen's grape juice making invention and I take Tempest with me. I spotted a herd of horses that got loose and wanted to go stop them but Carol and her band stopped them. I wanted to say hi but I heard Carol voice her dislike for the Royal Family, my family, because of an incident. So I decided to hide Tempest's wings and my tiara. I tucked the amulet underneath my attire and introduced myself.

Carol invites me to come with her and offers to let me join her band. I accepted and tried to do good but each time my ideas went wrong. I had tried to save a baby raccoon but once again, it was sabatoged by one of the girls, Jane.

"You're right. I am Princess Sofia and this is Tempest. I wanted to be apart of your band, but I was scared because I overheard Carol express her distaste for my family. That's why I hid my status. I'm sorry for lying to you. It was fun while it lasted." I said a little coldly because I really tried.

I hopped onto Tempest and flew away. I landed back in the orchard and my family had finished making the juice. I didn't feel like it and sat far from them. Mom came over to get me to try but I declined.

"Sofia, what's wrong?" mom asked gently.

At first I tried to distract her, but eventually I told her what happened.

"You remember what I told you before? When you wanted to be friends with the village kids?" she said.

"Yes." I said.

"Well, add too it. You should be proud of who you are and no matter what anyone else thinks, you shouldn't want to be around people that you can't be yourself around." she said.

I smiled and joined my family. Just then, Carol came up to us and mom was uncharacteristically cold. Everything worked out though and I got to be apart of the band after helping Jane because she tried to help that raccoon.

*Cleo's POV*

I was helping Hildegard throw a going away party since she was going on vacation for a week. I was a little sad that I couldn't go with her. She was my escape from home. Mom was nice but she was always worried about me. Today, we were in the auditorium for the arrival of our new theater teacher. I looked for a place to sit, but everyone was sitting by their friends.

"Cleo?" I heard Sofia ask.

I turned to her.

"Are you alright?" she asked.

"I'm fine. I just usually sit with Hildy." I said.

"Well you can sit with me." she said.

"Thank you." I said and I sat next to her.

I liked Sofia. She was really strong and kind. Ever since that sleepover, I enjoyed spending time with her in school when I could. Our theater teacher came in with a big entrance and she introduced herself as Miss Elodie. She told us that we were going to do a play called Hello Polly and that everyone was to help. If we weren't going to be in the play, we would help put on the play. I was excited because I loved plays and I really wanted to be in it, but Hildegard would be back when it was going on.

I offered to help Sofia get ready for tryouts since Hildegard was gone. I showed Sofia a different side of me, the one that enjoys plays and Sofia encourages me to do what I want to do. So I agree to try out and I got the lead. Sofia managed to reign Cedric in a bit on his magic with a couple words before things could get out of hand.

I decided to wear something I haven't worn in a while because Hildegard didn't like it for tryouts. However, Hildegard is back, early. I was wary of doing something against her, but with some encouragement from Sofia, I managed to tell Hildegard that I wanted to try out for the play and that I was going to do it whether she liked it or not. I ran to the theater before I could change my mind.

I knew that what I did would make Hildegard not want to be friends anymore but I had Sofia by my side. I did the play and I was excited because Hildegard came. I was really happy because Hildegard discovered that being friends was more important than getting her way.

AN: No, the unknown POV is not Sofia's dad. Good guess, but keep trying. Season 3 and 4 are probably going to have the longer chapters because they have the most episodes with Sofia doing things other than school.

Hope you enjoyed the story so far. ~Immortalshark
