*Tilly's POV*

Oh boy, Sofia's got her own adventures. She's written about the mermaids in Merroway Cove. How she rescued the flying horses from a kid warlock who wanted more for his birthday. She also wrote about how a new club had been started at Royal Prep, the Princess Adventure Club, where she helped stop a runaway flying ship. Well, now it's her turn to show me if she's got what it takes to be the next story keeper. So I told Spruce, my hobgoblin butler, to set the manor in a way that Sofia had to choose. I set a certain set of music rolls at Sofia's height and their solutions where Spruce can get to them. I showed him where they were just in case. It wasn't until she gave signs of completely giving up that Spruce would step in, so until then he would act like he didn't know what was going on.

I had everything set. The hardest challenge on the far right and the easiest on the left. Once everything is set, I messaged Sofia for help with a garden party tomorrow so she'd have the whole day on her own. She arrived and she knocked once. I went to get it and when I saw her, I had to rethink on the fly. She had gotten taller and looked a lot stronger, so as I gave her a tour, I subtly fixed some of the things in the test. Most of them are minor changes like the rolls.

Whenever I saw Sofia, she was always in a shirt and pants, never a dress. I was curious about that and sought to know more later. I left Sofia in charge of the manor and plopped myself down on a nearby hill to watch. The sandwiches and bonbons were already made and in the back of the garden in the shed.

I watched as she went through the music rolls. She played the green one. Oooo, lets see how she handles them. Damn she's smart. She took the roll out and put it back with the others. As she was ducking and weaving through the gargoyles, she grabbed the stone roll. She put the roll into the music box when the gargoyles were on the ground. Smart. The gargoyles returned to stone. She smiled then. Hmmm, now what is she up to? She played the green one again and I watched as she firmly told the gargoyles that they could stay alive if they helped clean up and return to where they were outside. They nodded and helped out. Once they were outside, Sofia played the stone roll again and they went back to stone. She went back inside and put the box down.

"Spruce." she called.

"Yes Sofia?" Spruce said.

"What's this tree? It looks familiar." Sofia said.

Hmm, the tree was the Secret Library. I wonder if she's stumbled upon it by accident.

"Oh that tree. It's a special tree. One that your Aunt visited many times. It's a magical place." Spruce said.

"Wow." Sofia said.

I decided to trip a surprise, one that neither knew about. I wanted to see how she reacts. I had heard from Bartleby that she had passed the junior knights test and had bested one of Finnegan's best fighter so I wanted to see what she was capable of. I also heard from Roland about her experience in the village, I assumed it was a bit watered down because it was a little obvious that Sofia didn't do as many things on that list as it said she did. It was a suit of armor that came to life. I tripped it and the armor did what it was told. It snuck around the manor.

*Spruce's POV*

Sofia had passed the test. I was about to send for Tilly when Sofia stopped.

"Sofia?" I asked.

"Shh." she hushed.

She was tense as she moved. She reached for something on her back and was soon drawing a sword to block a suit of armor. I didn't know this was apart of the test. I watched from a hiding place as Sofia dueled the suit. She growled at the armor as it wasn't going down and was getting nowhere. She looked around and Tilly's umbrella was left behind. Sofia dodged and rolled, picking the umbrella up. She dual wielded and after that she went to town on the armor. She brought it down very quickly after that.

*Unknown POV*

I was watching the princess as she took down a suit of armor with a sword and an…umbrella? She wielded both with ease though. Hmm, we might have to award her two with how good she is with two weapons.

*Tilly's POV*

I came back to a spiffy manor. I revealed to Sofia that it was a test and that Spruce was in on it. Sofia smiled.

"You know, I had the same exact room you do when I was at the castle." I said.

"You did?" Sofia asked.

"Yes." I said.

I gave her the book that contained the key to the library. She grinned as she saw it.

"Read it cover to cover. Knowledge is the key to everything." I said.

It was a couple days before I was called to the Library again. This time it was to announce that Sofia was to be the next storykeeper if she passed her first story. So I flew to the castle to pay a visit. I spotted Sofia going by and we actually almost crashed into her.

"What's with the rush Sofia?" I asked out the window.

"I was having a race with my friends. I'll get them next time though." she said as she came with me on the way back.

"How are you doing with the book?" I asked.

"I'm already through the book. I left Chapter Seventeen alone for now." she said.

Interesting. I disappeared from sight and headed for the library. I waited at the top.

*Sofia's POV*

Hmm, Aunt Tilly wanted me to know about Chapter Seventeen. So I opened the book to that chapter to find a smaller book inside called Behind the Walls. I thought about it and I thought of that room I found along with the underground lake. The one with all the relics of past princesses. I enjoyed swimming there because of the soft light and the water was just right. The amulet glowed blue and I followed it through the passage ways. It took me to the lake and I was about to jump in when a boat came. Huh, that was never here before. Oh well, it was a lot more fun to swim in the water anyway.

It took me to the door and the amulet lifted and pointed to the weird door. I saw the key hole and the book was the key. I put the book in and pushed. The door lit up blue and opened, revealing a room filled with books. A floating elevator drops down and I decided to get on it. It takes me up to the top to see that I was far from the castle.

"Whoa, where am I?" I asked out loud.

"This is the Secret Library." a very familiar voice said.

"Aunt Tilly. What are you doing here?" I asked.

She explained the Library to me and that when she was younger, wore the Amulet. She tells me that she is the Story Keeper and that her job is to go out and give each story a happy ending.

"I knew that you had the potential to be the new Story Keeper because of the Amulet. And you passed all my little tests." Tilly said.

We went down to the ground floor and sit just as the Library glows. A book floats off the shelf and into my hands.

"The Tale of Wildwing Valley." I read.

The book flew out of my hands and into the weird glowy nook. It told the story of a horse named Maxi who lived with her family in a royal stable. Even though she served a kind and noble King, Maxi yearned to be wild. One night, a visiting horse told Maxi about Wildwing Valley, a magically hidden land where enchanted creatures roam free. Maxi knew she had to find Wildwing Valley, so she said good bye to her family and left. Her sister tried to follow but saw Maxi get captured by the Knights of Borrea and taken to Borrea Castle where she was being held against her will by Prince Roderick ever since.

"To give this story a happy ending, you must save Maxi and grant her wish to live in Wildwing Valley." Tilly said.

I was very thankful I was in a shirt and pants. I typically was but I was especially grateful for it now. Tilly offered to come along just this once. We headed to the stables and I grab Tempest.

"Tempest, we're going to save your sister." I said.

"Maxi's in trouble? Well let's go." she whinnied.

I hopped on but she halted.

"Wait, how did you know I have a sister?" she asked.

"I'll tell you about it later." I said.

I took off with Tilly following. We landed at the stables and I whispered into Tempest's ear to save any comments til after we've got her sister and were free to go. She agreed and we go to save Maxi. We had to be quiet so I made her wait in the shadows. I found her sister.

"Are you Maxi?" I whispered.

"Yes, who are you?" she asked.

"I'm Sofia. I'm here to rescue you and get you out of here. Tempest is with me outside waiting." I said.

"Tempest?!" she said.

She got a little loud so I shushed her.

"Hey kid, could you let me out too. I've had enough of Prince Roderick." another horse asked quietly.

Another horse agreed and so I quickly and quietly got them out. We tiptoed our way out and we quietly made our way away from the castle. Once we were free and out of sight, we landed and then Tempest let out what she had been holding in for a while. Once she said what she needed to, I pet her head to calm her down. The girls had a talk and we headed for the Valley. Soon, enough we head back to Enchancia.

"Congratulations on finishing your first story." Tilly said.

"What's next?" I asked.

This was fun. Definitely able to put my skill to good use.

AN: I know, this one's kinda short but the next one will be longer. Much longer. It will be slightly after the Secret Library episode.

And yes the Unknown POV is from the Isles. I kinda have it flipping between two but the main one isn't Chrysta just yet. Mostly its 'minor' *I say minor since they aren't really mentioned and it's highly obvious there's more protectors than explained in the show* protectors. They are the one's keeping an eye on Sofia for the main POV. Good guess though, keep trying.

Also, the character growth Amber goes through is what James is going through just a lot less prominent. Sofia is fine with him if a bit wary.
