AN: This one's kinda long and will have a second but shorter part. Hope you enjoy! ~Immortalshark

*Tilly's POV*

This was odd. I had given the Story Keeping to Sofia but apparently there was one more story it wanted me to finish. I headed for the Library and waited for the story. It chose one of the bottom books. The tale of the Fisherman. Hmmm. There must be a reason for the library to call me in for this story. I opened the book and it showed a man.

"There once was a boy named Balthazar Fraser who grew up in a village in Freezenburg. He had big dreams of being a sailor. However, he was raised by a man who did not care for women. He vowed to never treat the ladies he would meet like his father. This proved to be well when he met a girl. She was a commoner who dealt with the royal duties. Her uncle was the steward of Freezenburg. He wanted her and came up with a plan to get her. He would become a sailor and if he ran into her again, pretend to not know her. His plan came to be and he became a sailor. Years went by and both were older. The girl he had met had moved from Freezenburg to the kingdom of Enchancia so he set sail for Enchancia. They met again and soon fell in love. They got married and sailed around the seas. However, the girl wanted to settle down and have children to care for. The man, wanting to keep her, agreed. So they settled down in Freezenburg. When they were expecting, they moved to Enchancia as Freezenburg was no place to raise a child. They had a beautiful baby girl. She had blue eyes and her mother was very happy. The man however had been wanting a son. He took 'trips' and sent money home. When he was out at sea, he met another woman. This woman was better than his wife and so he made as many trips as he could take. He found out this woman was pregnant with a son so he came up with the excuse of captaining his ship and that he needed to be free. He divorced his wife, leaving her to fend for herself and the three year old girl. He spent time with his son, raising him. The mother had died from a mysterious illness and he had to take his son. He traveled trying to find work. Meanwhile, the divorced wife had stayed in Enchancia, but moved to a village closer to the castle, a village called Dunwiddie. The wife was the village cobbler. She was good to the point of being recommended for other villages to go to if in need of new shoes. The odd jobs however were not enough revenue for her and her child. She tried to hide it from the child, but the child was very smart. A genius. At the age of three, she already knew how to sew so she helped her mother. When her mother was out of town and she couldn't take her with, she decided to work too. She did odd jobs and with her bright smile, she wormed her way into the hearts of many. The children were mean and the child had learned how to conceal her true feelings. Her odd jobs lead to her being not only street smart, but book smart too. Her two closest friends stuck by her through thick and thin. The mother only found out about her daughter's hand in providing for the two of them when she stumbled across a horse race that her daughter was participating in. However, when their names were broadcasted across the kingdoms as the new Queen and Princess of Enchancia, the man who gave them up decided to watch them. He worked his way to Enchancia and set up in the village. This man has evil intentions. He only wants to be back in their good graces because he knows that with them being royalty, means money. He has a plan to go through the child."

The voice faded away and I was startled to realize that it was about Sofia's father. I had to make this right. I had to give this story a happy ending. One that ended well for both sides. So I notified my little brother of my arrival and that I was going to be staying for an indefinite time. I took my bag with me and headed out. When I arrived, the family was waiting for me, well except Sofia.

"Tilly, it's nice to see you again." my brother said.

"It's nice to see you too baby brother…er King baby brother." I said with a smirk.

He shook his head in amusement. I looked to see Sofia off to the side with her horses. I wanted to see what she's done with the room. Now that I knew the story behind why Sofia was the way she was, it was obvious that she loved hugs, but was hesitant because of the little affection she got. She had spent every minute she could when her mother wasn't busy, with her mother or if her mother needed help. She was petting the horses and giggling. It wasn't just her horses either. I watched as she let them out and they cantored around her. I watched in fascination as they played a kind of tag with each other.

"Sofia." my brother called out.

Sofia stopped playing and all the horses stopped too. I would have laughed at the seemingly unanimous question marks that were raised by the horses. The horses were really attached to Sofia and it probably wasn't just because she could talk to them.

"Yes?" she asked as she walked over.

A midnight black horse came trotting over with her. He was a beautiful stallion with a white diamond on his chest that extended into a fine white line down his belly. He looked like he had socks on too from the white on his legs.

"Come say hi to your Aunt Tilly. She's going to be staying with us for a while." my brother said.

"Kay!" Sofia said.

I could laugh at the almost pout of the horses as Sofia made her way over to me.

"Hi Aunt Tilly." she said.

"Hello dear." I said.

She then ran back to the horses. I watched her play with them for an hour before she took them back to the stable and got them all back into their stalls. She took care of each one, feeding and brushing each one. She was obviously the favorite and I watched as they all watched her with love in their eyes. She was alone so I decided to bring up the topic of her father.

"Sofia, what do you remember of your father?" I asked.

Sofia looked at me with cold blue eyes, "Why?"

"I just want to know. It's kind of odd." I said.

She looked away and at the horse she was grooming.

"What do you want to know?" she asked.

"What did he do?" I asked.

"Sailor." she said.

I asked her some questions but all I got were clipped answers. It was really obvious she didn't want to talk about him. I was probably going to get more answers out of Miranda than Sofia, so I thanked Sofia and headed off to find Miranda. I found her alone and asked her about her ex. She sighed and told me the story.

"Sofia really doesn't like him. If there's one person that she doesn't like, it's him. She was only three at the time, but she remembers that he walked out on us with a lousy excuse of captaining a ship." she said.

Well, this is going to be a problem. I decided to head to the village to find him. I found him but he was keeping his head low. His kid was talking to a little witch.

"What's your name?" he asked.

"I'm Lucinda." the little witch said. "What's yours?"

"I'm Birk. Birk Fraser." the kid said with a grin.

"Fraser, as in Balthazar Frazer's son?" Lucinda said.

"That's me." the kid said with a cocky grin.

Lucinda sighed and wrote something and it disappeared. Soon Sofia came down to the village. I watched the encounter between the two. I knew Sofia was tall, but not this tall. She was a good couple inches taller than the boy. She was also in a very cool outfit. She had her boots on, black pants, and a long sleeve blue t-shirt with a very cool design on the back. Her clothes were not to lose to be baggy, but not too tight that it was skin tight. She also looked a lot older than she actually was and it came from all she did and still does. I decided to step in just a little so I headed over to Sofia.

"Sofia." I called out to draw her attention.

I also drew someone else's attention. Sofia looked at me before turning to Lucinda. There was an older man who came into the area. I knew it to be Balthazar. Immediately I was weirded out by him. He walked up to Sofia.

"Hello child. Remember me?" he asked.

Sofia looked at him with a confused look.

"Should I?" she asked.

He knelt to her height, but was funnily shorter than her.

"Sweetie. I'm your father. Remember?" he asked again.

"Sofia." I said again drawing her attention.

"Hi AUNT Tilly." she said as she ran to me this time.

"Care to show me around the village?" I asked even though I've seen most of it.

"Sure." Sofia said.

She glanced at Lucinda who nodded. Sofia showed me around and was tense throughout. I brought her to a secluded area and sat her down.

"Sofia, what can you tell me about your father?" I asked.

"I'd think you'd know him since you grew up with him." Sofia said.

"Sofia," I said gently, "I meant your other father, the one before King Roland."

She looked down at her hands and took a deep breath.

"I suppose you're talking about Balthazar." she said.

"Yes." I said.

I turned my full attention to her. She looked down with a far away look in her eyes. She told me what she remembers of her father. She told me how happy her mom was whenever her father was home. It changed when he started to go on more and more trips that were longer and longer. She remembered that she was three when it happened. She had done something a three year old child did and accidentally broke a vase. She remembered that her father got so mad about it and in a blind fit of rage, hit her. She had clipped a sharp edge with her shoulder and had hit the wall hard enough to get splinters in her back. She remembered waking up in a hospital with only her mother there since her father was off on yet another trip. Her mother had stayed by her side while she recovered. Thankfully she healed quite quickly and was allowed to go home.

She remembered the day that he left with nothing said to her. Only her mother and that he was leaving for good. She told me how it had been a month since he was gone that she started pitching in to help. She ended it happily on the day Baileywick came into their shop on orders from the king. She was just telling me when she ran to get her mother that she stopped talking. I looked at her curiously.

"S…" I started before getting shushed.

"Who's there?" Sofia called out loud and strong.

Her left hand was hovering over her leg and her right was raised. Someone stepped on a stick and was running. I watched in fascination as Sofia threw a knife in the direction of the noise. A few seconds later a thud sounded along with a scream. Sofia and I ran to see what happened. I watched as she fluidly moved through the trees. She was glaring at the boy. The same boy that was Balthazar's son. The boy was pinned to the tree with the knife Sofia threw.

"My father will hear about this, I swear," he said. "He did nothing of the sort."

Sofia was calm and collected.

"I'm serious. He's a big name. He's a good man. He's never done something like this. He has raised me ever since my mother died a couple years ago." the boy said.

Sofia was still calm and quiet.

"He's the best sailor around, you know. He's also a good captain. I'm sure you've heard about his journeys. He never laid a hand on a woman. He's strong. He will hear about this and take you down." the boy said.

At that Sofia chuckled low, "I'm not so sure about that kid."

"Your just some no name commoner. I don't know why dad is so fixated on staying in this dingy village." the boy said.

"I'm no commoner kid. I'm pretty sure your father is being taken good care of. He's pretty occupied right now. Currently, he's scratching his head on how the hell to rebuild a house." Sofia said with a smirk.

"I'm no kid! I'm seven in a couple days." the boy said.

"Sure kid." Sofia said.

She went closer and pulled the knife out with ease.

*Unknown POV*

I was flying over the Ever Realm again. Why? Just a break from everyone. Plus, I wanted to see the kid I was so interesting. I found her, an older woman, and a boy. The boy was trying to be brave in front of the ladies, but it was clear he was afraid. Probably because the girl was holding a knife and was twirling it with a skill no eight year old should have.

"My daddy will hear about this! I swear it!" the boy said.

"I doubt it. Cause my dad is a bit bigger than yours." the girl said.

"How? My daddy has sailed the seven seas. He's traded for many countries." the boy said.

The girl chuckled, "Kid, my dad's the king of Enchancia."

The boy looked confused.

"Now run along kid. You have no business here." the girl said.

"You can't tell me what to do. I'm a big boy. You're just a girl." the boy said.

The girl sighed and looked to the older woman. The two of them began to leave. The boy tried to follow but the girl turned around.

"I'm sure your big bad daddy will want to hear all about your important walk in the woods. Plus my aunt and I are going to be talking about girl stuff and I don't think a big boy like you would want to hear about it." the girl said.

I walked quietly to see what happened next. This was exciting. The boy had a thoughtful look on his face.

"Oh I get it. Your going to talk about my daddy. If your going to talk about my daddy, then I'm going to have to join you. I don't want any rumors started about him. He's the greatest. I'm also the best. I'm his right hand so whatever you have to say about him, I wanna know. Daddy said I'm his first mate. Plus, I'm sure you're only eight like me." the boy said.

The girl hid her disgust for the boy well. Really well for a girl who's eight.

"Kid. I'm a year older than you." the girl said as she continued walking.

The older woman hadn't stepped in at all…odd. The boy pulled a sword out but from the way he's holding it, I doubt he could use it.

"I demand you take me with you. My daddy told me to take care of anyone who wants to say mean things about him." the boy said.

The older woman stepped in now, "Kid, I really think you should run home now."

"No. My daddy told me to come spy on you. I don't know why but he asked me to do it so I did." the boy said.

"Oh, your daddy told you to do it? Why?" the girl said.

"Well, he said to follow a brown haired girl, you. He wanted to know where she went so I followed." the boy said.

The girl sighed before tensing and listening. I flew into a nearby tree just as four men came out into the clearing. They attacked the girl which proved to be a very very bad move…on their part. The older woman tried to step in but a clear no from the girl stopped her. I watched as the girl pulled out two swords. Where the hell were those swords? She dual wielded them and the men stood no chance against the girl. Either the men were horrid fighters or the girl was a genius. The girl tied them up in a hilarious way that I'm going to have to use when I get back. She tied them up with two of them facing downward and two of them upward that way if they move wrong…well let's just say they don't want to move wrong. She pointed her sword at the man who was closest to her.

"Who sent you?" she asked firmly.

"The captain. He wanted you specifically." the man said in absolute terror.

"WHO?" she questioned again as she got closer with the sword.

"Captain Fraser." the man squeaked.

"Traitor! My daddy would never do that!" the boy from before said.

He stabbed the guy in the leg and then tried to stab the girl but the girl just knocked the sword out of the kid's hands. She caught the sword in her hand and tsked. She sheathed her two swords and then held the kid's sword in her hands.

"Poor craftsmanship. No wonder you couldn't do anything. Your swords would have shattered soon." the girl said.

"My daddy's the best blacksmith I know. You're lying!" the boy said.

The girl stared the boy in the eyes and….snapped the sword in half! Holy crap.

"A good sword would never do that. Now, I've had enough of you kid." the girl said.

A witch came flying in on her broom.

"Ah, Marla. Thank you for coming. I assume Lucy sent you." the girl said.

"Yes. She may be a good witch now, but she still has tricks up her sleeves. I was impressed at how well she did." the witch said.

"Great. Now, can you bring these boys to the knights? If you happen to run into Sir Finnegan, tell him that my father sent these guys. He'll know what to do." the girl said.

"Sure sweetie. Now, go relax. I'll deal with them." the witch said.

"Thanks." the girl said.

The witch took the tied up men and put them dangling off her broom. She tightened the knots in such a way I knew they weren't going anywhere. She flew off and towards the castle. I was about to take off to go back home when the girl turned to the boy who looked close to tears.

"Kid, go home." the girl said.

The boy looked terrified and he ran towards the village. As I was watching the girl, she turned and looked in my direction. I froze because I didn't want her to know about me till later. Much later. I let out a sigh of relief when she looked away and started walking towards the castle. As soon as I knew they were out of sight and hearing, I flew off and back home. I had some rethinking to do on who was going to train her.

*Tilly's POV*

Oh boy. I'm going to have to work on this one. This one won't be easy, especially if the father did something like that. I headed back to the castle with Sofia. She was extremely quiet on the way.

"Aunt Tilly." she said.

"Yes?" I asked.

"Tell me, are you on a story?" she asked as she was looking down.

"Yes." I said.

She sighed, "It involves him doesn't it."

I stayed quiet and she just nodded.

"Can I see it?" she asked.

I figured it was best for her to see it, so I took her to the library. Surprisingly the library showed her the story. She listened to it and growled when it finished. She was furious. I tried to put a hand on her but she flinched away. She paced the floor before sprinting up the stairs to the top. By the time she got to the top, she was calmer but she ran down the stairs too. When she got back, she was calm and all the fury from before was gone.

"Sofia, I know its hard but this library called me to give this story a happy ending." I told her.

She softly growled in her throat, "I know. I saw. He's sorely mistaken if he wants to get back into my good graces."

She walked out of the library. I followed her and was expecting her to get in the boat with me but she just jumped in the water and swam. I watched as she swam underwater for as long as she could, which was for quite a bit. She nearly made it to the other side before coming up for air. She pulled herself out of the water and shook the water off her body. She was very quiet walking back to the castle. We got to her room and she ignored me. I watched as she went to work on a project.

I left the room so she could do her thing. I wanted to know if my brother had heard word of the men so I headed for his office. I watched as many of the servants were practically running away from his office.

"He WHAT?!" I heard him shout.

Well, he knows now.

"Sire, he tried to capture the princess. He has some sort of ties to her." the man in the room said, one of the men that are under Sir Finnegan by the colors.

"What kind of ties?" my brother said.

"Said the man was her father. That's all we could get out of the men." the man said.

My brother sighed.

"Send in Miranda. I want her opinion on this man before I do something." my brother said.

"Right away Your Highness." the man said.

He bolted out of the room. I stepped into the room and my brother looked tired.

"Roland?" I said.

"Hey sis. I'm glad your here. Maybe you can make heads or tails out of this whole thing." he said, "Actually, I'm going to wait for Miranda to come in here, we can all figure it out."

Well, now I know he's tired. He hasn't called me that in years.

"Rollie? You wanted to see me." Miranda called as she walked in looking worried.

"Miranda, I wanted to hear your opinion on a matter of mine." he said.

Miranda looked confused until Roland told her what happened. She looked like someone had slapped her in the face at hearing the name.

"Balthazar?! Are you sure the men said Balthazar?!" she said.

"Yes, why?" Roland asked.

Ah crap, Miranda is now mad.

"The men are in the dungeons, yes?" she said.

"Yes. I've been keeping them there since…" Roland said before being cut off by Miranda storming out of the room.

He got up and ran after her. I followed and I watched as all the servants ducked out of the way. Miranda wasn't heading for the dungeons, she was heading for Sofia's room.

*Miranda's POV*

I needed to see my baby. I needed to see if she was alright before going to question the men that decided to follow that dead beat. I went to her room and went in. I looked around at her room and saw the projects lying about. So she was working on something again. I found her sitting in her window seat that had been made her bed. She was staring off into the distance with a far away look.

"Sofia?" I said gently.

She looked at me with a tired look in her eyes.

"Mom." she said.

I wrapped my arms around her but she tensed for a second. I was going to pull away because I knew that when she tensed, she didn't want to be touched but she relaxed. I held her and she was quiet. I thought she had fallen asleep but I looked down to see that vacant look again.

"Sofia, what happened today?" I asked gently.

My baby looked at me and sighed before telling me what she's been doing. That she knew Balthazar was alive and that he was in the village. She told me that Balthazar had a son that was two years younger than her. That he had left for a woman that bore him a son. I took a breath and let it out.

"Sofia." I said gently.

"I just didn't want you to go through that again." she whispered.

It hurt to see that vacant look again. I know that she had it rough. I knew what she did for me. I had asked my friends to keep an eye out for her and watch her when I had to go out of town. They were the ones to tell me about the fight when she was six. They were the ones that told me how much she was doing for the village to help me. I held her and I felt her bury her face into me. I rubbed her back and knew the scars she had because I had sat with her in the hospital. I kissed her head where I knew she had the stitches. I felt her tense in my arms.

"Sweetie, it's okay. I know that it was an accident." I said.

"He didn't." she said so softly that I almost didn't catch it.

"What?" I asked.

"I said that he didn't." she said.

"He didn't, what? He told me that he found you like that." I said.

She pulled out of my arms and shook her head. Roland stepped forward and Sofia's gaze shot to him very quickly.

"Sofia, is it true that Balthazar is your birth father? That what happened today is true?" he said.

Sofia shot to her feet and her wolf wrapped around her feet. I watched the wolf stand on its hind legs and gently pushed Sofia back to the bed. I watched as Luna laid on Sofia and held her there. I watched as Sofia calmed down slightly.

"Yes. It is." she said.
