Chapter 2: Meets And Greets
Summary:- Ash meets Team RWBY.
Ash eyed the four teenage girls who were walking just beneath the tree branch, in which he was hiding.
He had sensed their aura, so he knows that they didn't have any malicious intention, but still he hesitated to reveal himself because while they are not his enemy they weren't his friends either.
Ash was not afraid of them, no, he is confident they weren't any threat to him and even though they outnumbered him 4 to 1, he still have his Pokemon to call upon if things get messy.
And besides he had fought beings more powerful that a bunch of teenagers.
No the main reason he was hesitant to reveal himself was because even though he can defeat this girls if they prove hostile whoever had sent them, because he knows that someone had sent them, would know his location.
And he wanted to maintain his cover until he finds out where he was, as he is still in unknown territory.
But perhaps if he reveal himself and ask them where he was maybe they can help him find his way home.
Contemplating for a few moments he choose to reveal himself. He took out his black mask, that he always keeps with himself, from his trench coat and put it own. He is not going to give them his identity, not unless he can trust them.
He took a deep breath before jumping from the tree branch and right behind the group of teenagers, without alerting them.
"Hello there" he called them from behind their backs.
"Hello there" a voice said from behind them.
Ruby let's out a yelp of surprise and she along with rest of her team turned towards the sound, there weapons ready.
They saw a boy, maybe a few years older than her was calmly standing behind them, with his arms crossed.
She gulped when she realised that the boy standing there was more that one and a half feet taller than her, maybe three or four inches shorter than Yatsuhashi Daichi of Team CFVY who himself was at least 7 feet tall, and was wearing a pitch black trench coat with blue stripes. He was also wearing a black mask with blue eye sockets that hides his face . The boy had shoulder length raven hair falling that was constantly waiving like river, even if there is no wind . All in all he strike an imposing figure and with the menacing aura he seemed posses would make anyone think twice before approaching him.
But looks like not all of her teammates shared her thoughts
"Hey, who are you? Are you following us" weiss questioned rudely.
The figure didn't said anything, which caused the heiress of the Schnee dust company to growl in annoyance.
"Hey! why don't you say something? I asked you a question" Weiss said angrily, upset that her questions were not being answered.
Before Ruby can tell her partner to calm down, the boy spoke.
"My name is unimportant but tell me what you four are doing here in the middle of a forest"he said in a tone colder than a bitter frost,which caused shivers travel down her spine.
"He is dangerous" Blake thought to herself, even she was feeling a little wary of this man, every thing about this man screamed bloody murder. Her hand quickly wrapped around her weapon.
"Draw that weapon and I will kill you" the man said coldly in a tone which said he will do as promised.
Blake's hand froze around her weapon,
"How did he notice that?, I was discreet" She thought nervously, beads of sweat running down her neck.
"Hey!" Yang shouted "no one threatens my team and walks away" she said preparing Ember Celica, her Dual shot Gauntlets. Weiss and Blake followed suit with their weapons, Myrtenaster and Gambol Shroud, respectively.
Ruby seeing this, quickly tries to defuse the situation, before it escalated quickly. They are
here for a mission , not an unnecessary hight, which can be avoided.
"Weiss, Yang , Blake please stand down" Ruby pleaded "please we are not here for an unnecessary fight".
Yang and Blake backed of reluctantly, hearing their team leaders orders even though they didn't like it. Weiss however didn't as she still has her Rapier in her hand, ready to attack at any given moment.
"Weiss please" Ruby pleaded to her to stand down.
Weiss glared at the stranger before looking at Ruby's puppy dog-eye look at annoyance, before sighing in defeat.
"Fine" she grumbled in annoyance putting her Rapier away but refused to drop her guard at the stranger.
"Sorry for that" Ruby apologised to the man "my friends can sometimes be too overzealous" she said causing her sister and her friends to grumble in protest.
It worked as the man relaxed his stance. Ruby seeing that continued her explanation.
"And for what we are doing here, well our headmaster Professor Ozpin gave us a mission"
"Ruby don't tell him that, he is a stranger" Weiss said annoyed that her leader is telling the details of the mission to a complete stranger, who only minutes ago threatened to kill one of her teammate.
"Yeah!" Yang agreed with the ice queen which was very rare. Even Blake seemed to agree with her, that it was dangerous.
"And what mission is that ?" The stranger asked her again, ignoring the others which seemed to irk them, especially Weiss.
"Ruby!!!" her teammate protested.
Ruby ignored her friends protest and replied " well one our school's camera recorded a massive explosion of energy in the Emerald forest, so our professor asked us to investigate its origin" she replied cheerfully, happy that the professor had choosen their team for this mission, as normally this type of tasks fall under the second year students who were more experienced in dealing this type of situation.
"Wait explosion, you don't mean that blue flare coming from sout-east of this area do you?" the figure questioned.
"And how did you know that? Have you seen it? And what caused it ?" Ruby asked rapidly.
"Ooh! slow down Rubes" Yang chuckled.
"Sorry" Ruby replied meekly, before looking at the stranger waiting for him to speak.
"Well for your questions, have I seen the explosion? yes I have" he confirmed "and for what caused it well! It was me" the figure shrugged.
"You Did it!! hah, and you think we have to believe that crap!" Weiss snorted "Do you know how much dust it is required to create such an explosion". It was true the explosion was so massive, even the students at Beacon felt it.
After Weiss uttered the insult, the temperature in the clearing seemed to drop down and an ominous wind began to pick up.
The all tensed when the figure spoke "Are you telling me, that I am weak?" he whispered the words, but they heard it perfectly as the clearing is completely silence.
The words are spoken in a whisper but it carried so much malice they couldn't help but shiver and take an involuntary step backwards, their hands grasping the cold steel of their weapons .
Weiss seemed to gather her courage and spoke confidently "yes of course you are no one can create that energy without a ton of dust and beside ackkkk...
Her reply was cut short when she fell to her knees choking for air. She tried to speak but the words never came out of her mouth.
"Weiss" Yang and Ruby shouted in worry and rushed to their fallen teammate trying to help her breathe with little success.
Blake meanwhile looked towards the stranger, and what she saw chilled her to her bone.
The stranger had his right arm raised, which was glowing in murky blue energy, the same blue energy from the explosion she thought in horror, his body was also leaking the energy which is creating an unnatural pressure in the the area.
With his eyes glowing in an unnatural shade of purpleish-blue, the man said " question my power again and I will make you suffer, Insult me again and I will give you a death that will even make the god of death shudder in horror, DO YOU UNDERSTAND?" he said menacingly,his voice slowly growing in volume with each sentence.
Weiss tried to speak, but couldn't do anything except trying to gasp for air.
"DO YOU UNDERSTAND????" he roared.
Weiss manage to nod through her gasps, causing the figure to relax and release her from whatever hold he had with her.
"Good" he said and with a flick of his wrist released her from his hold.
Ruby quickly gave her still gasping friend her a bottle of water, which the schnee heiress quickly drank greedily.
"Who are you" Ruby whispered looking at the stranger with a terrified
expression.
Weiss was one of the strongest and most powerful student of Beacon Academy along with Pyrrha, but this man incapacitated her in less than a minute with nothing more than a flick of his hand.
"You asked first? So you go first" the stranger countered.
"Hey we already answered your first question" Yang protested.
"Yeah, and besides you attacked our friend shouldn't you feel sorry for that and give us your namee first" Blake said.
"No I don't fell sorry" he replied flatly, staring at them coldly, causing them to shut up immediately. "Now, your names and your occupation?"he questioned harshly, and this time they knew it was not an question but an order, which if not obeyed will have grave consequences.
So they replied wisely.
"My name is Ruby Rose and I am the leader of team RWBY" Ruby answered first.
" Yang Xio Long, and I am her sister" Yang quickly quickly, following her younger sister's lead.
"Blake Belladonna" Blake replied curtly, keeping her answer to the point.
"Weiss Schnee, heiress of Schnee Dust company, and also a member of team RWBY" Weiss replied a little angrily over what just happened to her a few minutes prior.
But who could blame her, she was almost killed.
"And as for our occupation we are students of Beacon Academy" Ruby replied cheerfully striking a pose causing her teammates to sweat drop at their leader's antics.
..we are students of Beacon Academy" The red headed, Ruby answered striking an ridiculous pose.
"Beacon Academy, is it one of those fancywansyTrainers school for those rich and fancy cunts,who had more bark than a bite"Ash thought a little angrily.
But who could blame him, he had a problem with trainers school , no scratch that he hated those school. And if he had his way, he would have banned them after he became Kanto's Regional Champion.
He along with many other accomplished trainers believed it was a school made for nothing more than pompous cowards who would try an easy way to the League, instead of going on a journey and earned their rights the hard way.
True going on trainers journey is very hazardous, as two out of five trainers doesn't make it alive the first year. But it prepares you to the harsh future that is to come.
And it was proven true during the Rocket War.
He still remembers, most of the casualties are from the students form Trainers school, as the ill prepared for for the harsh reality of the world and they suffered for it.
"Beacon huh never heard about it, so is that one of those fancy trainer school?" Ash questioned theoretically.
They seemed confused and shocked by his answer before the one with blonde
hair, Yang he reminded himself, spoke.
"You don't know about Beacon? We're you living under a rock or something"
She questioned.
Ash narrowed his eyes behind his mask, before taking a deep breath, trying to calm himself down before he kills them in his anger.
He still needed his answer after all and for that he needs them alive.
For now that is.
"Please, answer the question" he asked politely through gritted teeth.
They looked at him oddly, like he is some new species of animal, which caused his blood to boil in anger.
Thankfully, for their own safety, they answered.
"Well it's the premiere school for training huntsmen and huntresses on how to combat the grimm"
"Grimm did she mean those creatures of darkness ?"Ash thought, to himself, before Ruby spoke again interrupting his train of thoughts.
"Well I have a idea, why don't you come with us and meet professor Ozpin in person" she asked with a smile.
Ash stared at her for a few moments, before thinking" It is a good idea , I may have my answers to my questions after speaking with this ProfessorOzpin"
"Very well, but no more funny businesses Capish?" He warned lightly.
"Sure, now let's go" Ruby said cheerfully before running off, leaving Ash and her team mates behind.
"Ruby wait!" Yang shouted before chasing her hyperactive sister.
"That girl" The white haired girl, that he had almost choked to death, Weiss said shaking her head disapprovingly at her team leader's action before following suit, leaving Ash and Blake alone in the clearing.
"Well shall we?" Blake said awkwardly, motioning him with her hand before walking off in a much slower pace than her team.
Ash nodded curtly before following her.
"Well time to meet this Ozpin" he thought.
And done! phew now thats 2500 words not the biggest chapter I have written but don't worry the it will increase as the story progress .
Now Ash seemed like an ass in this chapter ordering everything and acting harshly and coldly with team RWBY, but believe me when his past will be revealed you will understand why he acted with such hostility.
