Kelly wakes up extra early the next morning, 5 am, and keeping in his morning customs, he made a pot of coffee. He mindlessly watches the warm black liquid drip into the pot for a second before he grabs himself a cup then pouring himself a cup of the black liquid. Taking a slip, he sits on the windowsill and looks out to the side, lost in his thoughts… Well, until a warm, familiar hand rests on his shoulder and snaps him back to reality. Then the lips he knew better than anyone else's lay a gentle kiss to his temple. "You okay, baby? Evan asks.

Kelly takes a sip of his coffee, nodding, then says, "Mhmm, yea, just lost in my own head. That's all." Kelly pulls Evan down for a proper kiss. After the kiss is broken, Evan grabs a cup of coffee for himself and sits beside his fiancé. "What are you thinking about?" He asks, interlocking their fingers together.

"When we get back to Chicago, I was thinking about starting the process of having a family." Kelly takes a deep breath. "I saw you with Chris yesterday and it melted my heart. You'll be such a great dad and I want a family with you, Ev. I love you." Kelly finishes before grabbing Evan's hands and kisses Evan's knuckles.

The other man chews on Kelly's words for a second. "I want that too, more than you know. I saw you watching cartoons with Chris, and I could just picture you with a kid. I want this. I'm all in. Of course, we can start the process when we get back." Evan says, smiling brightly at Kelly.

"Then, it's settled. We will get in touch with DCFS when we get back, as I'm assuming we will adopt?" Kelly asks, taking another sip of his coffee. While Kelly would not mind a mini Evan running around, there are endless kids who need a home.

"Yea, I want to adopt." Evan says matter of factly.

Kelly nods his head in acknowledgement and says, "We should probably start looking at houses, cause the loft isn't the greatest for starting a family."

"Yes, I agree. Maybe Casey knows of some good houses for sale in good school districts?" Evan asks.

"I'll ask, though our best bet would be a realtor." Kelly takes another slip. "We still gotta talk to Herman about having the reception at Molly's. Maybe, we can Facetime with 51 later today when we have no calls?" Kelly asks and Evan nods.

"Sounds good to me." The younger of the two replies. They get up, get showered and dressed for their shift. Once they're ready they go, they make a stop for bagels for themselves and Danishes for everyone at the 118.

—--

They arrive a half an hour early to their shift and set the Danishes on the island. While it is still early, Kelly suggests, "Why don't we call 51 now. I'll call Casey, as they are all on shift now."

Evan nods, saying "Sure."

Kelly facetimes Casey, who answers on the third ring. "Hey man, what's up?" Casey asks when his smiling face appears on the screen.

"Hey, Cas. Not much just on our last shift here." Kelly tells his best friend.

Evan pipes up and says, "Hey, Casey, how are you?"

"Hey, Evan, I'm good. Sylvie here in my quarters as well." Casey says as Sylvie pops onto the screen with a wave.

"Hey guys, excited to come back?" She asks.

Kelly and Evan nod their heads and say in unison "hell yea." Making Casey and Sylvie chuckle. Sylvie and Matt got together last year, as Gabby left right after Evan did. Sylvie only knew Evan for a few months before he left but heard a lot about him from Kelly.

"Good, I'm glad, but did you guys need something?" Casey asks, looking at the couple suspiciously. "I doubt you called to look at my pretty face."

Kelly rolls his eyes. "Yea, no. No one wants to look at that ugly mug. Don't know how Brett does it." He pauses with a grin. "Actually, yes, we have a few updates. We're getting married next month on the 18th. Will you be my best man, Cas?" Kelly asks his good friend.

"Of course, man, happy to." Casey says with a smile.

"Good, thanks. Also, we're starting the process of adopting when we get back and we need to find a house. Do you know of any good ones in good school districts?" Kelly asks. "If not, we will need a realtor."

"Yea, I actually do, some in great school districts. I'll send you guys the info." Casey says and then adds, "if you guys are trying to adopt, I know a social worker at DCFS and can recommend you guys to her. I will write a letter of recommendation as well."

"That would be great, Cas. We really appreciate that." Kelly says with Evan nodding his agreement.

Matt nods as there is a knock on Casey's office door. "Is that Herrmann?" Evan asks, though he is unable to see who it is.

"Yep." Casey says as Herrmann comes into view of the screen.

"Hey guys, how are you?" he asks

"We're good. Listen, Herrmann. We're getting married on June 18th, and I was wondering if you would mind if we had the reception at Molly's?" Evan asks

While they need to hear it, the grin on Herrmann's face tells it all. "That's great guys, and yes, that will be fine! I'd love you guys to have your reception at Molly's, not a problem." Herman says.

Kelly and Evan both say their thanks just as the bells ring out for 51 calling for all units. They quickly say goodbye and hang up.

About 20 minutes after ending their phone call with Casey and Herman, everyone from the rest of the shift shows up, which is no help to Evan's nerves. His heart beating, he takes a deep breath and gets up off the couch to go tell Hen and Chim that he's leaving. Just as Evan walks over to Hen and Chim, he notices Bobby coming up the steps with a woman he's never seen before and freezes in place.

"Hey, everyone!" Bobby yells loudly as he waves everyone over. "Can I get your attention for a second?" Heads popping up, everyone turns to him, and Kelly comes to stand beside Evan. "This is Lucy Donato, our newest member of the 118. Today is her first day with us, but she will be taking Buck's place when he leaves." Bobby tells the group. "Can we make sure she has a warm welcome."

Hen and Chim's heads whip around to look at Buck, who's rubbing the back of his neck. He is red down to his toe. "Are you leaving?" Hen and Chim ask in unison.

"Yea, we're going back to Chicago, leaving Saturday morning." Buck explains.

"Does Maddie know?" Chim asks, a flash of hurt dancing across his eyes.

"Maddie, Eddie, Bobby and Athena all know. It was just you two, who I hadn't told yet. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner," Buck says.

Before anyone can say anything else the bells go off and everyone races to the rings. Chim and Hen, silent and unreadable, are in the ambulance as Buck, Kelly, Eddie and Lucy and Bobby jump into the ladder truck.

"Here's what I got someone. Some nincompoop drove through the pier and landed in the water. Where L.A doesn't have a rescue squad, two of us will have to go get them." Bobby says.

Kelly speaks up saying, "No worries, since Evan and I have our diving certifications, we should go down.."

Bobby nods, saying "okay. Also, we have what you need here in the truck.." Kelly nods. Bobby tells Kelly and Evan where the gear is in the truck so they can save time and get geared up on the way to the scene.

"What rescue squad where you on before?" Lucy pipes up and asks.

"Squad 3 out of Chicago," Kelly and Evan say in unison.

"Oh, you're both from Chicago?" She asks and they both nod their heads. "Cool."

Eddie watches in amazement at how Kelly and Evan get geared up with the diving equipment.

When they arrive at the chaotic scene, Bobby tells everyone, "Kelly and Buck will take point as they're both rescue squad certified."

Everyone nods as Kelly starts barking orders. "Anchor us off of this pillar, when we tug three times pull us up." Kelly points Eddie and Lucy to the pier and directs them to what he needs done with the ropes." Kelly looks at Evan and asks "you ready?"

"Hell yeah!" Evan says with adrenaline coursing through his body.

Kelly looks at his fiancé and says, "Okay, on 3. 1.2.3.!" At that they jump off the pier and dive into the water. Wasting no time, they swim down to find the victims. They get to the car, which is quickly filling up with water, and spots a family inside. Using hand signals, Kelly instructs for Evan to take the two kids while he works on getting the mom and dad out. Evan tugs three times and Eddie starts pulling buck up to the surface.

"Hen! Two kids, a boy and girl roughly 2 and 7. They're not breathing." Buck states as soon as he breaks the surface of the water. Determine, Hen and Chim race over and start working on the kids just as Kelly resurfaces with the mother.

"I'm going back for the dad. She's got a head injury." Kelly tells the other paramedics. Unable to let his fiancé go back down alone, Evan nods and dives back down with Kelly. They quickly get the dad out to find out, but unfortunately, he is DOA. Physically, the kids and mom will be fine, but mentally, there is no telling.

Once back at the 118, Evan says, "I'm going to take a shower." He chucks as a former memory works its way forward. "Mind ya, it's not as bad diving into the ocean as it is the Chicago River."

Both Evan and Kelly shutter at the thought, and the later goes, "You got that right." They head to the shower. Once they are out of ear shot, lucy goes and talks to Hen, Eddie and him.

"Kelly is fine. I wonder if he's with anyone." Lucy asks. Chim and Eddie choke on their coffees while Hen snickers. She figures Buck will want to have fun with her.

"Why don't you ask him out and see?" Hen asks. Eddie and Chim shoot her a 'what are you doing' pointed stare, but she ignores it. She wants to have some fun before buckaroo leaves.

"I'll do that." Lucy says with a determined smile.

Once out of the showers, Kelly and Evan go up to the loft with Kelly heading straight to the coffee while Evan grabs an apple. Lucy saunters over to Kelly and rests her hand on his bicep, then says "wow, so strong. I was thinking maybe we could go out some time." She bats her eyelashes, making Buck rolls his eyes as he snickers.

This isn't the first time someone has flirted with Kelly in front of him, and he doubts it would be the last, considering Kelly is a very attractive man. At first, he might have saw red, jealousy an angry beast, but now he finds it funny. It is hilarious to see cocky people deflate so quicky after Kelly rejects them so quickly. Recalling all the times, Evan takes a victorious bite of the apple.

"I'm engaged, sorry." Kelly states.

"Well, what's one last night of fun before you're tied down to the same woman forever?" She throws out there.

Annoyance flashes across Kelly's face. "First off, I'm Bi, and second, I dont think my soon to be husband would like that." He says turning to Evan. "Besides, I don't want anyone but Evan anyways." Kelly states firmly as he crosses to Evan and places a kiss to Evan's birth mark. He whispers "I love you" into his ear.

"Wait you two are a couple?" She asks

"Yep." They say in unison.

Before anything else can be said the bells go off.

The call is a person in distress, which Hen and Chim handles like the pros that they are. The rest of shift goes smoothly with Evan putting every second of the shift into memory. He has no second thoughts about going back to Chicago, but he will miss the 118.

The next thing that the couple knows, they are home and getting ready for the movers. Their next chapter is finally starting.
