*Amber's POV*
I was having my room redecorated and the servants were doing what I asked. I didn't like it so I decided to have them hang it up in the other room.
"Could you just hang it up in the other room please? Thank you." I said.
They smiled at me and went to go hang it in the other room. Ever since Sofia came, I felt like I had a purpose. I was jealous at first because of all the things Sofia was doing and I was just sitting in the castle doing nothing. But I realized that my purpose was to now be a big sister to Sofia and that meant learning how to do some things she does. I was looking over the wall that I was going to redecorate but I found a lone tile. I pressed it and it revealed a hidden passageway. I decided to figure out what it was and followed the walkway to an underground water source. It was beautiful. I heard footsteps and so I hid. When the footsteps got closer, I stepped out to see who it was and it was Sofia.
"Sofia?" I asked.
"Amber? What are you doing down here?" she asked.
I told her what I was doing and I asked her the same question. She looked hesitant but told me anyway. Her amulet glowed blue and a boat arrived. Sofia smirked a little and we hopped in the boat. She explains what she's been doing and her role as the Story Keeper. We enter somewhere I've never seen before, a library filled with books. I watch as the Library lit up and a book came down. I read the title. The Tale of the Crystal Masters. The book then goes inside the pendulum looking thing and it begins to show the story.
"This story begins in the Mystic Isles. A place made up of countless floating islands home to different magical creatures and objects. The Crystal Masters on the Isle of Crystals have peacefully grown magical crystals for wizards everywhere to use in their scepters, wands, and amulets for centuries. However, one Crystal Master has a wicked plan to grow magic crystals on the other Mystic Isles which could drain all the magic from the creatures who live there forever."
Then the story ended.
"Wait, where's the rest of it?" I asked.
"It's my job as Story Keeper to go out and give these stories a happy ending. Which means I have to go to the Mystic Isles." Sofia said.
"I wanna come." I said.
Sofia sighed, "Fine. Just listen to what I have to say okay?"
"Deal." I said.
Yay, I get to go on a trip with just Sofia. The elevator drops down and Sofia hopped on and pulled me up on it. Her strength was nothing to scoff at because I was reminded of it when she pulled me up with ease. We get dropped off in a giant patch of gigantic dandelions. I was confused and opened my mouth to ask her what was going on when she put up a hand stopping me.
"Shh. Someone's watching us." Sofia said.
"You have good reflexes." a woman said as she stepped out of the patch.
"Who are you?" Sofia asked politely.
"I'm Prisma. I used to be a Crystal Master until my sister Azurine took my powers away." the woman said.
I told Sofia that I think that Azurine is the one we needed to stop.
"You can summon unicorns. That's how we can get to the Mystic Isles." Prisma said.
Sofia did and three unicorns came. We flew higher and higher into the clouds. When we arrived, we landed on an Isle filled with unicorns. We walked around until a white blur flew by. Soon enough we figured out it was a young unicorn and he got stuck in a tree.
"Sorry about that. I'm still learning how to fly." he said.
"I'll help you out." Sofia said.
Sofia easily got him unstuck and the young one pledged his loyalty to her because she set him free.
"My name is Skye, my princess." he said.
"I'm Sofia." Sofia said.
He gives us a tour of the Isles and it was amazing. We arrived at a place that Skye said was the Isle of Dancing Deserts. Along the way, Prisma mentions that the sands can reveal what one desires and so I asked for a magical jewel. It showed me an orange crystal but I was annoyed that it didn't do anything but be pretty. When we got to the bridge we needed to cross, I took my anger out and tapped the bridge three times. It caused the bridge to collapse and we had to run to get off. I was falling behind and before the bridge totally gave away, Sofia grabbed me and threw me towards the sands as she dropped. I was about to go after her when a man with wings grabbed her and brought her up.
*Sofia's POV*
I had dove for Amber and threw her up towards the sands as I fell. I was going to shoot an arrow up to stop myself when I was caught by a man with wings. He put me down.
"Whoa." Amber said, "Who are you?"
"My name is Orion and I am a Wind Walker as well as one of the Protectors of the Mystic Isles. We protect the Mystic Isles from harm. The jewel you have there is a Shatter Stone, a magical rock that destroys anything it strikes three times." the man said.
"What are you doing here then?" I asked politely.
I was keeping an eye on Prisma. I had a feeling about her and instead of looking relieved to see the man, she looked scared.
"I am looking for the evil Crystal Master." he said.
"I'm the Story Keeper and I'm going to the Isle of Crystals to stop her." I said.
"I just came from there and the villainess was not there." Orion said. "Do keep an eye out. She is dangerous."
He took off and so I decided to see how this played out. Due to the bridge being gone, we had to find another way to get to the Isle of Crystals. We crossed through the Isle of Rompkins. We got captured but Amber got us out by becoming their Queen and teaching them manners.
Then the next day came and we made it to the Isle of Crystals. Prisma pointed out the tower where her sister locked up her Terra Crystal, the tool Crystal Masters need to perform their magic. Skye fails to fly so I turned into a Crystal Bird. I grabbed the crystal and made my way back to the group. However I got trapped in a net and Azurine helped me out of the net. So, it really was Prisma who was the evil Crystal Master. I warned Amber about her and she hesitated in giving Prisma the crystal.
In that hesitation though, Prisma lunged for it and grabbed it. She revealed herself and declared that the magic of the Mystic Isles will be hers. Before we could do anything though, Prisma sent us down a Crystal Vortex. I had to slow us down so I turned into a unicorn and helped Skye down.
"I'm sorry Sofia. If I had just been stronger, she wouldn't have grabbed it from me." Amber said.
I hugged her, "It's okay. Let's go find Orion, quickly."
"Okay." Amber said.
We took off but by the time we found him, Skye loses his wings and Orion lands but loses his wings too. We told him what was going on and he told us that if we could destroy her Crystal, all the damage would be undone. I looked at Amber and she sighed.
"Okay. I'm coming." she said.
*Azurine's POV*
I watched the girls from the crystal ball nearby.
"Sofia will stop you." I told my sister.
"That's impossible. All she has by her side is a unicorn that can't fly, a shrunken Rompkin, and a spoiled big sister." Prisma said.
*Amber's POV*
I followed Sofia. She had a plan and I knew it. We headed for the Isle of Dancing Deserts to find a shatter stone. Sofia finds it and puts it in a pocket. Together, we made our way to Prisma's home. I distracted Prisma while Sofia freed Azurine. Once Azurine was freed, Sofia charged at Prisma. She was a lot faster than I thought and I stepped back when Sofia tapped the crystal three times.
*Prisma's POV*
When my beautiful crystal was shattered, I made a run for it! I faked out all of them before escaping. I thought I was home free when I saw the neighboring Isle come into view but all of a sudden I was slammed into by a strong force. I caught myself but not before I found my arms trapped behind my back. I looked up to see Sofia. WHAT THE HECK! She's fast. I struggled but found I couldn't break her gentle but firm. I felt her wrapping a rope around my wrists and in such a way I couldn't untie it even if I tried. I saw the others catch up and that unicorn had finally learned how to fly. Sofia brought me to my knees and I couldn't do anything.
*Vega's POV*
Orion had made it back to us and told us of the two princesses from the Ever Realm that were here. As soon as the crystals were gone and our wings were back, we flew out immediately to find the person who stopped Prisma. I watched as the Princess whom I've kept an eye on tackle Prisma to the ground. Damn she moves a lot faster now than when I last saw her, and stronger too. The girl wrapped Prisma's wrists and pulled her to her knees. We flew down.
"It's Orion." the girl said.
"And the Protectors." the unicorn said.
"Greetings Princess Sofia. Excellent work. We will take custody of your prisoner now." Orion said.
"Prisoner?! I am nobody's prisoner. I am the greatest crystal master that ever lived." Prisma said.
"That's debatable." I said calmly, "but what is certain is you will never again harm the Mystic Isles. Take her away."
Then Prisma decided not to go peacefully but instead of attacking us, she went after the princess. The princess dodged and threw one punch that knocked Prisma down and out. Orion whistled in awe.
"Princess Sofia." Orion started.
"Please just call me Sofia. All of you. I really don't like titles." the girl said.
Orion raised an eyebrow but continued on, "Sofia, your time as Story Keeper has taught you much. We all watched how you captured the crystal master. Very impressive."
"I couldn't let her harm all the creatures here." she said.
I smirked, "Sofia, because of your selfless actions, and the skill you have demonstrated here today, we would like to invite you to join our ranks and become a Protector."
"Me?" Sofia asked.
The unicorn next to Sofia gasped, "A non magical creature has never been a Protector."
I decided to reveal it to her, "That is precisely why we are interested in this brave girl. Plus, I've watched her from time to time."
I thought Sofia would have been shocked but all I got was a confused look. Then a look of realization.
"So that's what that was!" she said.
"What was?" I asked.
"The person who attacked me when I was on the hike. I went behind the person and I saw the indentations of wings." Sofia said.
I was startled, thankfully Orion stepped in before anything else could happen.
"We have long searched for a Protector who could help us with problems that arise outside of the Mystic Isles." Orion said.
"So what your saying is that I could become a Protector back home in Enchancia?" Sofia asked.
"Yes. The first Protector of the Ever Realm." I said.
"That is if you accept." Orion said.
"It would be my honor." Sofia said with a bow.
"Good, now, return to your kingdom." Orion said, "when the time is right, we will begin your training."
"There will be much for you to do and to learn." I said.
"Oooh, I can't wait to learn new things." she said excitedly.
She took off on the unicorn, who for just learning how to fly was doing pretty well. Orion turned to me.
"So that is who you were talking about." he said.
"Yes." I said.
"Hmm. She seems younger than what you described her as." Orion said.
"I thought she was eleven or twelve but finally getting a closer look, I'm starting to think she's younger, about nine almost ten." I said.
"Also what was Garish's cousin doing for you anyway? Garish had asked him but he didn't say anything." Orion asked.
"Ah, as I was flying over the realm on a break, I heard rumors of the newest Princess of Enchancia. So I wanted to test it and found that they completely underestimate her. She's much much stronger than we think." I said.
"Hmm, so who would be best for her trainer?" Orion asked.
"Vega, Orion, come in." I heard from my enchantlet.
I answered, "What's wrong Phyllus."
"Vega, my daughter's gone." he said.
"She's gone?" Orion stated, "do you know where she went?"
"No." Phyllus said.
"We'll be right there." I said.
*Sofia's POV*
Amber, Skye and I were roaming the Isles because we had time. We were just passing the Isle of Centaurs when I heard a man calling out for someone. I went up to him, ignoring Skye and Amber.
"Excuse me. Who are you looking for?" I asked.
He looked down at me, "I'm looking for my daughter. I had been away for business and when I came back, she was gone and the only thing I have is this pin."
I looked at the pin and had the man take me to where he last saw his daughter. He took me over and I found tracks of hers. I followed the tracks. I noticed the man had an enchantlet on so I assumed that this man had a couple enemies. My brain went into drive and I found more tracks. I found a nearby bird who could help us out and we found the young centaur in the center of a ring of male centaurs. I silently crept up on them and took them down, knocking them unconscious and tying their legs and arms. I then made it to the young centaur, who was hurt and looked like she had fought back but couldn't over power the males.
"Hey," I said.
The young one started to thrash.
"Shh, shh. It's okay sweetie. Your safe. I'm here to help you." I said.
She opened her eyes and looked at me.
"You are?" she said and her voice was young.
"Yes. Your daddy sent me to help." I said.
"My daddy? NO! They were trying to get him here." she said.
I calmed her down again. Suddenly I heard the familiar twang of swords hitting each other and I ran over once the girl was safe. I saw the man fighting off the other centaurs but was tiring quickly. I was so glad I brought my arm bands. I drew my swords and joined in the fight.
*Phyllus' POV*
I waited for the strike to come but it never did. I looked up to see a sword blocking the one trying to hit me. I looked to see who was holding the sword only to see the young princess who stopped Prisma standing there with two swords. I watched tiredly as she fought the men off and was winning. She tied them up in such a way that I knew they were never getting out of. I saw my daughter sitting safely by a tree and I wanted to walk over to her but everything went black.
*Vega's POV*
Orion and I flew as fast as we could to go help Phyllus. I would have thought Sofia would have gone home by now but there she was standing in the middle of about a dozen centaurs and fighting them off. She was winning and had two swords in hand. Orion and I round up the rest of the centaurs before turning back to see Sofia finish off the others. Amber, Sofia's sister, kept Phyllus' daughter calm.
"Sofia." I said.
She looked up at me for a second but went to Phyllus' side. I watched as she stitched him up and then made sure the daughter was okay.
"Sofia." I said again.
She looked at me now, "Yes?"
"What are you still doing here?" I asked.
"Well, Amber and I wanted to take a little trip around the Isles so Skye here took us. I came across this man calling for someone and so I offered to help. Now here I am." Sofia said.
Once everyone was safe, I made sure Sofia and her sister got home safely.
AN: I named one of the centaur Protectors Phyllus since we only know the name of four Protectors, Orion, Vega, Chrysta and Garish. Also, since Sofia is an oddity, what do you think of her having two enchantlets? I've already written the following chapters with her having two enchantlets but if y'all think its a bit much then I can rewrite the following chapters with her only getting one.
Chrysta is going to be just slightly out of character. Not much though.
