Chapter 63: Tailing a Comet Part 1: A Lead Finally!(Marinette's POV)
Nothing. They had no clues, no leads, no anything to where the missing comet is. She also doesn't understand how it just vanished and disappeared while they were pushing it. Something is up, she just feels it, like she felt it when Shiro got back.
She looks at him across the room. He looks better than he did a couple of days ago. Finally put back on some weight, so he isn't wearing a baggy sweater. It was the only thing she had ready for him at the time. As the sweater was easy to make, she just used black fabric and added a black lion design to it outlined in white to make it pop.
Shiro's hair is cut like how it used to be, except the poof is a little shorter than what it used to be before he disappeared. Marinette also made Shiro blue pants, while he got a much deserved Altean shower.
She shakes her head, focus Marinette. Another thing that bothers her is that Tikki said the lions had no clue why Black waited this long and that Black was being cryptic. That just made her uneasy feeling grow towards Shiro's return.
That and everything she went through was giving her a headache. How could they all stand it? The rush and the fastness that this war moves with. It almost makes it impossible to focus when events just happen in a blur, almost.
What she doesn't understand is why Shiro had to come back the night after going into an alternate reality and losing the comet. She already had enough stuff to deal with. Then again, she doesn't understand why the switch happened either. Or the mysteries of the universe, or, or…
"So what is this comet exactly? I know you guys explained to me the adventures you've had while I was gone. But I don't understand why the comet is important." Shiro asks, and Marinette looks at him.
"Shiro the comet is important because if the Galra have it they could make weapons like Voltron." She replies.
Was Shiro not listening when they told the story of how they got the comet and lost it? Her heart pind with sadness as she remembers Akira dying for her. She couldn't bear it if someone else did that again for her.
Pidge nods, "Yeah if the Galra stole it from us and use the comet to make ships we'd be at a standstill till the end of time like what's it's like in that Alternate Reality between the Dragons of Altea and the Olkari."
Shiro sighs, "That is quite a predicament. But we've pulled through worse."
"Like defeating Emperor Zarkon." Lance says, and everyone winces. Yeah that was a little tough. She had to go and make sure the plan worked, which she did, otherwise they wouldn't have defeated Zarkon. But then who's behind these calculated attacks?
That lone ship observed the newly formed Team Voltron and then that same ship fired at them when they were trying to get the comet to the Castle. That lone ship seems to be the key to all of this.
"Guys, remember when that Lone Galra Ship attacked us? I think that ship was also the one who fired at us to get the comet from us. If we find that ship and then capture whoever is on board, we might finally be able to see the bigger picture."
Lance nods, and says angrily, "Yeah, I saw it too. But I just thought it was my rage seeing what I wanted to see."
Suddenly a sound goes off, which startles Marinette, and the others. "Ping, ping, ping, ping, ping."
Allura rushes to the dashboard, "Marinette, the Castle has picked up a signal that is close to the comet's pulse. It's nearby, should we go and check it out?"
Shiro replies before she can speak, "Of course we can Princess."
"Yes, what Shiro said Allura." Marinette states. But she doesn't let it bother her. Shiro was a leader too and besides they just got a clue to where the comet is. Hopefully the Galra haven't already made weapons out of it. It has only been three days since it was stolen. Then again the Galra have had centuries, upon centuries to upgrade their tech. She just hopes they aren't too late.
