*Tempest's POV*
It was nice having Sofia around again. I knew she was busy and all so she didn't really get that much time to spend with me. So we were out flying and doing tricks when something came flying by and almost hit us. I landed so Sofia didn't get hurt. Sofia hopped off and as she did, a white ball of fur went flying by and crashing into the stables.
"It's Skye." Sofia said.
"That's Skye?" I asked.
"Yep." Sofia said.
I watched as she went up to greet the unicorn. I trotted up to introduce myself but was cut off.
"Ah, here you are princess." a new voice called out.
"Chrysta, hello." Sofia said.
She stood next to me though and petted my nose. I let her know I liked it by leaning into her more and she giggled.
"Good to see ya." Chrysta said, "What happened? I saw you almost hit that flying horse and then you were gone."
*Sofia's POV*
I had to laugh at the interaction between Skye and Tempest. Tempest was jealous.
"So Chrysta, what are we going to be doing today?" I asked.
"Today you get your Which Way bow." Chrysta said.
She brought it out and explained what it does. She also told me how to call it out. So I called it out with both.
"Odd, mine doesn't have a bowstring." I said.
"Of course there's no bowstring Princess. You gotta get it from the mare of the mist." Chrysta said. "Oh and since you're non magical and wingless, you're going to need a flying steed to get you around to Protector missions like this."
"And I have humbly volunteered for the job my princess." Skye said.
"What have I told you about calling me Princess? Both of you?" I said.
"Don't." they both said.
"Thanks."
"Wait what? I wanna do that too." Tempest said as she trotted to me.
"You want to be a Protector Steed too?" Chrysta asked.
"Yep as long as I'm with Sofia." Tempest said.
"Wow, I'm impressed. I mean its not often a Protector in training gets two offers like this. So who's it going to be?" Chrysta asked.
*Chrysta's POV*
I thought the decision would be harder to make.
"For missions in the Mystic Isles, Skye is the best to take because he knows the way much better than Tempest. But for missions here in the Ever Realm, Tempest is the best." Sofia said.
Then something odd happened, the mare appeared HERE! I watched her give Sofia the hair strand needed for the bow, two of them too, and Sofia strung her bows. Her bows looked more combative than anything.
"Huh, that was weird. She never leaves the Isles." I said.
I guess that was it. Then I thought of something.
"Sofia, I want to see if your bows are different and act differently." I said.
"Why?" she asked.
"Because your bows look more for combat than a tool. See?" I said as I showed her mine.
"Huh." she said as she drew the bows.
She drew the one from her right first and it fit her hand. She pulled the string and an arrow appeared.
"Woah. This…this can do a lot of damage." she said.
She fired at a tree and it stuck in the tree good. I went to pull it out and see if it did anything but I couldn't. Sofia grabbed the arrow and pulled it out no problem. She then called out the other bow and that one was closer to a Which Way bow. That one acted as the Which Way bow while the one in her right was combative.
"Hey Chrysta check this out!" I heard her yell.
I turned to see more than one arrow notched and she fired. All the arrows landed in the center of a bullseye. Dang. I'm going to need to rethink on how to train her since she seems to have a very good handle on the skills. We spent the day talking and getting to know each other. We also got into a friendly competition by running an obstacle course. She kept me on my toes and that was interesting. When the day was done, I reported into the chiefs and explained what was going on and that Sofia had gotten bows that were definitely more combative.
*Cedric's POV*
I was in my tower when a message came in for me. I sighed as it was a message from my sister and that she was coming with Calista because their castle is being renovated. I got things ready and waited outside in the courtyard for her to arrive. Sofia had come running up to me.
"Mr. Cedric!" she said.
"Hello little one." I said.
She grinned and wrapped her arms around me. I knelt to her level.
"What do you need Sofia?" I asked.
"I was wanting to learn how to shrink a watermelon to the size of a grape with dwindle dust but it's obvious your busy. What's up?" she asked with a head tilt.
I put a hand on her head, "My sister is coming for a visit."
She grinned, "Cordelia right?"
"Yep." I said.
Then they came in their coach. I hugged Calista but frowned at Cordelia.
"Hello Sister." I said.
"Hello Ceddykins." Cordelia said.
"Might I bring your luggage in?" I asked.
"I've got it." Cordelia said.
We got into a fight but Sofia grabbed my arm.
"Mr. Cedric. Come on. We can help her later." she said.
It surprised me cause normally she's one to help first then go do something else. Her eyes were more blue today and I had to go with her. I brought her to my tower and explained why Cordelia thinks I'm no good with spells. I was drawn back when Sofia giggled.
"Cedric, she's not in here right now is she?" she said.
"No." I said.
"Well, pretend like she isn't here. It's just you and me and learning spells and potions. Kay?" she said.
I smiled and we got to work.
*Cordelia's POV*
I was surprised when the little Princess pulled Cedric away and he willingly went with her. She had him wrapped around her little fingers and he was happy. I got to my room thanks to one of the servants and set up Calista's room. I decided to go to Cedric's workshop and clean it. Heaven's knows he doesn't keep that thing clean. So I headed in that direction but I heard him talking to the little princess.
"...that incident is why nobody but my mom and Calista believed or respected me until you came along." Cedric said.
"Well, she's not here right now is she?" the little one said.
"No." he said.
"Well, pretend like she isn't. It's just you, me and learning spells and potions. Kay?" the little one said.
It seemed like Cedric agreed and was teaching her. I poked my head in when I heard giggles and saw Cedric and Sofia laughing. I haven't heard him laugh like that in years, much less smile. I saw the love he had for the little princess in his eyes, and she loved him. I saw that he could conjure with no incantation needed and that was really hard to do. It seemed like the little one could too since she transformed something and they both laughed.
"Uncle Cedy!" Calista said as she went to join in the fun.
They both caught her and started making her giggle too. Then Sofia gasped.
"Wait a minute. Cedric, do you remember the potion you used for Cordelia's ball and the color it was before you went out?" she asked.
"Yes, the potion was supposed to be purple." he said.
"What color was it when you used it?" she asked.
"White." he said.
"Something was mixed in it. The potion messed up Cordelia's hair yes? Then the two that mixed, one must have been a hair potion. More than likely her own potion." she said.
"I have the looking back glass. We can see which one it was!" Calista said.
I watched as she ran off and came back with the glass. They went in and I saw what happened. I sighed and once they came back out, I made my presence known. Only Sofia wasn't surprised.
"Cedric, you know which potions were mixed. There's probably a spell that can fix her hair." Sofia said.
"Really?" I said.
"Yes." Cedric said.
He performed the spell and my hair was back.
"Cedric," I said, "I hope it's not too late and one apology isn't enough to make up for the teasing and taunting I made you go through. I'm so sorry that I assumed that it was your fault that my hair was ruined. I should have known you wouldn't mess it up."
Cedric smiled at me, "Of course it's not to late. Sofie here made me see that."
The little princess beamed at him. She hugged him and I had to smile at the grin that Cedric had on his face. He started up a game and had us all laughing in minutes. I joined in because it was the game Who am I? Sofia did a wonderful impression of Cedric.
