It's been three weeks since Kelly and Evan came back to Chicago and adopted the four siblings. They bought a house the same day. It's a beautiful two story with a finished basement that has two bedrooms and a playroom, games room and a family room, along with a full size bathroom.

The main floor has an open concept kitchen, dining room and living room. It also has an entryway, a full size bathroom and a play room off of the living room, as well as an office next to it.

Upstairs is the master bedroom and master bath, along with James room, Avery's room, skylars room and Nate's room. The boys have one bathroom in the middle of their rooms and the girls have their own in the middle between their rooms.

It has a big backyard with a pool and place for a swing set and a climbing dome and also a trampoline.

They closed on the house rather quickly and were able to move in this past weekend. They sold Kelly's loft to Eddie and Chris, it doesn't have a yard but it has an elevator which is great for Chris.

Chief was able to push their first day back until today as they were busy getting settled in with the kids.

Where it's summer time the kids are all home from school so Evan and Kelly told Carla and Eddie that Carla can watch Chris and all the kids at their house when they are on shift as they have the two bedrooms in the basement, but there's a door out back to get to the basement so Chris doesn't have to walk the steps thankfully.

Meanwhile at the Buckley-Severide household.

"Kel, have you seen Avery's pink bunny that Casey and Brett gave her she won't go down for a nap or to sleep tonight without it." Evan tells his fiancé in a panic as he has the two year old on his hip, still in her jammies.

"Didn't she just have it in her crib with her?" Kelly asks as he's trying to make breakfast for the kids, as well as getting coffee ready, as they all overslept this morning.

"I thought it was but I can't find it." Evan says just as Nate comes in with the said pink bunny.

"Here you go dad, it was under her crib." The older of the four tells them.

"Thanks bud. I never even thought to look under her crib." Evan says and Kelly sees the wheels turning.

"Ev baby, it's early we are running late, everything is hectic, don't beat yourself up over it ok?" Kelly says as he rounds the kitchen island and places a tender kiss to Evans birthmark, then his lips.

"You're right, thanks kel." Evan says, sitting Avery in her high chair, just as the doorbell rings.

"I'll get it." Kelly Says going to the door after finishing plating the food.

Skylar, Nathan and James come running. Into the kitchen to get their food.

"Hey dad can I try out for the summer soccer and cheerleading?" Sky asks

"I don't know we will have to talk to Carla as she might have to take you some days."

Sky nods as Nate pipes up saying "I'd like to join baseball if at all possible and Taekwondo."

"We will see what Carla says." Evan says just as Kelly appears with Eddie, Carla, and Chris.

"What's this you need to ask me, sugar?" Carla asks

"Sky wants to join cheerleading and soccer and Nate wants to join baseball and taekwondo but I said I'd have to talk to you to see if you wouldn't mind taking them sometimes while we are on shift. Also Kelly needs to approve of this idea as well." Evan explained.

"I think it's a great idea." Kelly says.

"I agree, I don't mind taking them, sugar, you're already letting me drive that gorgeous suv of yours while you're on shift so no big deal." Carla says

"Okay, thanks Carla. Okay guys you can join. I'll do some research when I can today about them extracurriculars and see when you have to sign up okay?" Evan states.

"Yay! Okay thanks daddy your the best." Sky says

Then quickly adds "your all the best." Before she goes and hugs Evan, Kelly and Carla.

"No problem princess." Kelly says

"Anything for you guys, sweet pea." Carla says

"We love you four so much." Evan says then adds "we would do anything for you guys."

After the kids are back to their seats and eating along with Chris, the grownups have a cup of coffee before they have to leave.

"So how's it been getting the kids adjusted?" Eddie asks.

Evan and Kelly both sigh, making the other two adults raise an eyebrow at them.

"It's been great don't get me wrong, but parenting is hard, especially to four kids." Kelly says making the others chuckle.

"Yea parenting isn't for everyone, but it's the most rewarding job you'll ever have in your life." Eddie says making Kelly and Evan nod their agreement.

"Has Nate had any nightmares like the social worker said he might?" Carla asks taking a sip of her own coffee.

"He's had four in the last two weeks, we have spoke to Dr.Charles how got us into a child's psychologist who's name is Wendy Lantz . We've spoke with her twice and she's says the nightmares are Normal for everything Nate's been through." Evan explains just as Kelly checks his watch and almost chokes on his coffee.

"Bodens gonna kill us, we are 15 minutes late." Kelly says

"Shit we better go good thing it's not far. " Evan says.

All three parents say goodbye to their own kids then the others kids and head out.

——

They arrive five minutes later to see angers first shift.

"Cmon severide your late." Dave Dunbar says from first shift.

"Sorry trying to get out of the house while getting four kids settled, Dave, not easy.." Severide says as Dave just shakes his head and leaves.

The three men rush to the locker room where Evan and Eddie pick out a locker.

"Man this place is a lot different from the 118." Eddie exclaims.

"Yea, I know, but it's a family here we always got each others backs no matter what." Severide explained as he didn't feel the same way about the 118.

Eddie just nods as he puts on his new squad 9 shirt.

After the men are dressed they head out to the chiefs office.

Where they see Blake Gallo and Petter Mills waiting for them along with Casey and the chief.

"Sorry we are late lost track of time and getting four kids settled to head to work is a lot harder than you can imagine." Evan says as they walk into the office.

"Yea hats of to Cindy and Herman for doing it all these years with 5 kids." Severide says.

"Well I hope you guys soon fall into a routine." Chief says looking at all three.

"Yes chief." The three in question say in unison.

"Anyways, Evan you know Peter, but this is Blake Gallo." Chief says then adds "Gallo this is your lieutenant Evan Buckley. And another squad mate Eddie Diaz." After instructions are made Evan, Kelly and Eddie head towards the squad table where the guys already put a second table and four more chairs at the old table for the new squad members.

"So this is the squad table where only squad members are allowed. That's Kelly's chair no one's allowed to sit in that chair besides him.." Evan says to Eddie's as they both chuckle.

Evan shows Eddie around and introduces him to everyone.

After the tour Eddie is talking to Stella at the round table in the common room. They have been dating for the last two weeks. Their first date went off without a hitch.

Evans sitting back enjoying being home when the bells ring through the firehouse.

All units, multiple vehicle collisions on the freeway.

"Let's go." Evan, Kelly and Casey all say in unison. As all the men and women run to their respective rigs.

"Gallo you drive." Evan says, making Gallo smile as he says "thanks lieutenant. "

They reach the freeway and it's a mess, Evan and squad nine work flawlessly together, they get the job done and the freeway cleaned up after eight hours at the scene.

They all get back to the fire house and shower, eat and sleep. Before they know it it's time to go home to their kids.

Once home they spend a day filled with lounging around cuddling with their kids, across town, Eddie introduces Stella to Chris. They both love each other right off the bat, which eases Eddie's anxiety.

They are all where they are supposed to be…
