Chapter 66: Heroes Day Part 2: Weaving a Trap(Adrien's POV)
Adrien sighs, Master Fu had given an earful on letting Rouge Renarde remain as a superheroine when he told him this morning. It's not like he didn't want to not tell him earlier, but Chloe, Keith and Kagami when the news was announced there would be a new holiday called Heroes Day on December the 16th, well, he had to be involved in their plans.
Even if he did his own thing with Kagami. Which was giving a chinese lesson to his fencing class and a fencing lesson to his chinese class(who he barely interacted with and thought maybe it would also be a good time to get actually know the people he was supposed to study with concerning fencing and chinese, so you know, he would benefit from it as well).
Then his mind drifts to Marinette, wondering what she would do for Heroes' Day if she were here. Bake pastries for the class? Maybe throw a class picnic later in the evening? Make outfits for her friends that she personally designed?
Honestly he misses Marinette as much as Ladybug. But he doesn't know where to start searching if he were to search for both of them again. And then there are his new duties as being an apprentice to the Guardian and balancing that out with his social and school life and fencing, chinese and modeling.
At least Keith could now take part of the modeling, like he did the day Style Queen attacked which would lessen his modeling load.
Still, the others and even the police have stopped searching for Marinette.
Adrien closes his locker door, trying not to slam it shut. It was frustrating, as Chat Noir he was a hero and yet he could do nothing for Marinette and Ladybug. He feels so useless.
He takes a deep breath, Master Fu chose you to hold the cat miraculous for a reason and he chose you to become the new Guardian despite the fact he could of have picked Marmora or Honeybee over him. Still that did little to ease his mind.
Only one more day, one more day till Heroes' Day. As he counts it down he can't help but think he should also be celebrating this with Ladybug. It started out with him and her, the first heroes. A duo.
And now he'll never know if he will see her again.
Never.
The Next Morning at Master Fu's Place
Adrien sits down in Master Fu's jade colored couch that faces a small boxy T.V, one of the Sony ones that went out of style about three-ish years ago. As they were big and bulky, so people liked the flat screens instead and the bulky ones went out of style.
Adorning the left wall in the middle is a giant painting of a jade turtle. It has emerald green eyes that are in the shape of a jade stone. The background has many blues resenting the ocean. The frame is gold, adorned with little jade stones all over it.
He smiles, one thing that never changed about Master Fu is perculitay liking to sea turtles and turtles in general.
Then again he likes cats, specifically being Chat Noir and making cat puns and jokes to his teammates, whether they're good or bad.
Master Fu sits beside him, "Adrien."
"Yes?"
"I brought you over here to train but to also watch the morning Heroes' Day festivities with me. As having you with me might ease the loneliness I feel"
"But you have Wayzz and the other kwamis?!" Adrien exclaims, shocked. But also after he realizes what Master Fu said, he is kind of grateful the old man said it. As his own father doesn't even bat an eye when he's in his presence.
Master Fu chuckles, "Yes, but it's not the same as human interaction I'm afraid."
Adrien nods, even though Plagg has been a great friend, albeit annoying sometimes. Then again, Master Fu probably only deals with the kwamis 24/7 unless he's attending his massage clients. And he's been in charge of the kwamis for a while. Didn't he say he was 186 years old or something?
"Well let's turn on the T.V." Master Fu says and grabs the remote turning on his boxy T.V.
The T.V comes alive and an image of Nadja Chamack appears on the screen. "The Parade that starts the Heroes' Day Festival begins. Our channel will be covering all the festivities so stay tuned while we give you live footage of the Parade."
It cuts to a wide line of floats being pulled by trucks. The floats depict various battles that have happened, surprisingly all in chronological order. There's also black cat, purple tiger, honeybee, and fox dancers on the various floats. Expect the fox dancers appear in the back of the procession. The camera zooms in at the very first float and it has ladybug dancers on it and a mural depicting the battles with Stoneheart. The first time Paris got a taste of the miraculous superheroes and Hawkmoth.
It's so strange to see all of this progressing. And it makes him feel uncomfortable getting all this attention from just saving the day and trying to stop Hawkmoth from whatever he's trying to accomplish.
There are also giant balloons of the heroes spread throughout the city, but they look like chibi versions of themselves if they were in an anime.
Then the camera spots something, it's a little hard to make out, but it seems there's fighting going on. The camera then zooms in on the fighting pair, making it out to be Honeybee, except her suit is switched. It's mostly black with yellow accents. Which is weird and she appears to be fighting…Me!
But that's not possible! Adrien stands up in shock. Who is doing that? It must be an illusion but what purpose does it have? It must be Hawkmoth's doing and he knows he can trust Rouge Renarde so it must be Lila as Volpina! But why would she get akumatized again?
He doesn't trust that she's in Achu, especially since she lied about being a fox superhero to him after she had seen the book his father had on superheroes.
Not to mention his lady told Lila that they aren't friends, even if confronting her while in public wasn't the best move.
Then Honeybee makes him cataclysm himself and laughs. Her mouth moves and a purple mask dons her face. She picks up the ring from the ashes of the cataclysmed Chat Noir and clutches it in her fist. Then she laughs again and the scene switches to Nadja. But honestly he doesn't pay attention.
He sits down in shock. Did that just really happen?
Gabriel's POV
Gabriel smirks, his plan succeeded. Now Paris should feel despair, lots of it, in order for him to create an army of akumas.
His assientent steps forward, but she is akumatized as the akuma Catalyst. With her help he'll be able to make the army of akumas and that should overwhelm the so-called Team Miraculous and finally he'll have the upperhand.
And then all he'll have to do is wait patiently for Ladybug and destroy her.
Then he and his beloved Emile will finally be together with Adrien, finally be a family again. He smirks this has to work, has to, otherwise he'll have to let those super brats know he has the peacock miraculous in his possession.
Which he will not let happen. This plan will work. It has to, for his family. And he will catch those pesky heroes in his web.
