A/N:
@qiaraz97: Yes. Although Tsuna has a lot of adventures back in his world, he can't still adjust properly to the fact that he has to do things all over again and in a different world. Thank you too.
@bbbk027: Hahaha! Even if Tsuna is old 'enough', he will still be grounded by Aizawa. Hahaha! So obedient.
@foxchick1: In the future, I think.
@Sara Elsherbiny: I'll make an omake for you. And yes. Hahaha!! Tsuna is soooo gonna get it.
@Amaryllis Flick: Barriers. Izuku is not socially inept with all the traumas, while Tsuna is just too aloof. A good combination at some point. Hahaha! Oh. And Midoriya has to tell him because Tsuna can deduce it. Intuition at its finest. And I miss them too!
Here you go! Sorry for the wait.
Anyway, go on.
Chapter Four
His head snapped to the balcony when he heard some crash and screaming, then he saw smoke coming from the third building from theirs. He didn't dwell on his curiosity as his intuition happily informed him that it is trouble. Leaving his homework alone on the table, Tsuna took his jacket by the single sitter and walked for the balcony. He went out and closed the door behind him. He took the shoes he keeps behind the potted plants and put them on, before he went over the railings and jumped for the next building.
He started to run and jump from roof to roof until he reached the attacked building. He looked down to check if some heroes already responded. After seeing none, he went for the door to get to the roof and went down the stairs. He opened the door of the nearest floor, and looked inside. It's a corporate building from the interior he noticed. He remembers seeing some of the individuals in there from his own apartment building too, and most of them are contemplating whether to go out or not.
"Excuse me." He called out, gaining their attentions.
"Young man, there's a villain in the ground floor." A middle aged man informed, slowly getting pale at the thoughts racing in his mind.
"Please don't panic." He assured, smiling his Decimo smile. He noticed how they relaxed a bit. "I'm here to help you escape. This way, please. You can exit through the backdoor, as long as you don't make any loud noises."
He didn't close the door as people started to follow his instruction. He went down to the next floor, and did the same thing. People came streaming in as he goes down for the first batch of people, who stopped moving. They were waiting for him to open the door for them, he did. He motioned them to go on before he went for the emergency exit of the ground floor. He opened it slightly to peer inside.
The villain is running havoc, gloating that no one can fight against him. The front of the building was busted, there's fire here and there, and some of the things have fallen. He looked back to the others to ensure himself that they're still going out before he slipped inside the ground floor, the door opened a little. While the villains kept on calling out for heroes to attack him, Tsuna signalled every trapped civilians to the door while keeping a finger to his lips, as a sign for them to keep quiet.
When he went for the other side as heroes responded, he looked for more civilians trapped. He was able to get a father and his son out of a rubble. But before they went out, the father told him in a hushed voice that there's a pregnant woman at the side of the window, probably trapped. Tsuna assured the man that he will keep the woman safe. Keeping the direction in mind, he found the woman by the sofa, hiding behind the couch.
"Thanks God you're safe." He breathed in relief before moving the couch a little and kept the woman's head down in a gentle manner when some shards went their way. "Let's keep our heads down, Miss. I don't want the baby to get hurt."
The mother shed tears of gratefulness. "Thank you."
"Don't thank me yet." He replied, looking out for any possible flying things towards them. "I'll keep you safe with the best of my abilities. Let's wait for a while until the villain get subdued. Moving now will be dangerous for the both of you."
"Y-Yes."
Tsuna stayed, keeping every flying debris away from them with the use of his sky flames. When the villain got subdued, he helped the woman out of her hiding place and handed her to a medic. He only smiled when the mother thank him profusely. He didn't mind the look he got from the medic and scurried away to hide his presence from the media who started to make a coverage of what happened.
He's so thankful that they're graduating in two weeks.
"No. I don't have any young man with brown hair and caramel eyes in the academy. Not even in the applicant list." He replied to All Might as he watched the video of the young man who has an invisible shield deflecting every shrapnel that tried to harm the pregnant woman behind the couch. "He's not a student of Yuuei."
"The mother had been asking me to thank the young man. Some of the employees of the building approached me with those in minds. They want to know who he is. If I remember right, the same thing happened a lot of times. They were all asking who was the brave young man who has instructed them of what to do to keep themselves safe. Don't you think he's a student from other hero schools?"
Nezu paused the a video and zoomed the picture to see the brunet watching the battle in front of them with a hardened expression. "I don't think so. He must be someone who is near the vicinity to respond that well when the supports haven't arrived yet. The mother could've been dead if he was any late."
"We must reach the young man immediately. Some have already demanded his identity to be revealed, my friend."
"I will think of something." Nezu assured.
"Alright. Thank you, Nezu."
He let the call end as he watched the video again, eyes trained on the young brunet who have assisted a man and a boy. He can see the hand gestures towards the other side of the building before the brunet went to where the pregnant woman was hiding. Maybe due to how dire the situation was and the danger of moving the woman in a quick pace made the young man decide to stay there and wait for the fight to finish. It was a good decision.
A lot of professionals, from heroes to civilians, have voiced their concern and amazement about a brunet who helps behind the scene since four years ago and running. He hadn't said anything about this, deflecting any questions for the fact that he, too, has no idea what the child looks like. There was no video nor picture that captured the young man for four years. Such skill of avoiding the media and keep on being vigilante for a long time can only be pulled by someone who has been doing the job for years. Someone who knew how the media works and knows what to do at those times. Someone who had practice and had done the same thing over and over again. A veteran.
But how come such kid has this kind of experience? He could estimate the age, maybe somewhere teen. So how come there's so much experience in that young man's body?
He looked up when he heard a knock from his door. The wood slid open and Eraserhead came in, looking rather refreshed. The man has changed over the years. He's more well rested these past days, healthier and glowing differently. Although he had asked Mic about this continuous change, the blond was tight lipped about it, only smiling fondly and amusingly that makes him more curious.
"You called for me?" Aizawa asked, standing in front of his table.
"Yes, Aizawa." He affirmed. "I found a lead to the young vigilante we've been monitoring. He had taken action yesterday. All Might had called me about it too."
"So it reached him too." The hero nodded, almost contemplative. "Can I see the lead?"
"Yes. Here." He let the monitor face the hero's way and played the video. "We are looking for this young man." He circled the mouse cursor on the brunet who is deflecting every flying object.
"What the hell..." His eyes flew to the hero who has his eyes wide. "That brat..."
"Do you know him?" He queried.
Aizawa stood straighter, a hand flying to his temples to massage them. "Yes. I'll talk to him."
He watched the other's reaction. "You know the procedure, yes?"
The teacher nodded. "But I can't keep promises. He's quite hardheaded. It will take time for him to be persuaded and be brought here. He's a house buddy and he wants to live a normal life."
"You seem to know him well."
Aizawa sighed exaggeratedly, a small smile quirking on his lips. "He's my son."
Nezu's eyes blinked. "Come again?"
"My son. That kid in the video is my son." Eraserhead, the vigilante hero, repeated.
"Oh." The Yuuie principal could only utter in surprise.
Tsuna winced and looked down to his lap after seeing the scathing glare of his Dad. He pursed his lips and kept his hands from playing together. He's so nervous. It has been five years since he got last scolded.
The moment his Dad came in, Tsuna knew something was wrong. The first indication that he did something wrong, was the door slamming without any announcement of arrival. Second was when the man stood by the door of the living room and waited for him to go to a seiza position, which he is now. And third, the disappointed glare. Damn. He's so regretting why he taught him that glare.
Right now, his Dad is scolding him for going vigilante for the past four years without telling him. How dangerous what he did and how he could've died with just a simple bad move, without anyone knowing. Tsuna kept his mouth shut so he couldn't say that he has been one for twenty-plus years, and stopped for six years because he was growing by then in his new world. He's not old to forget the safety procedure he and his guardians established and do when some mafia attacks Sicily.
"Now what can you say, Tsuna?" Shouta questioned, trying to know what his valid excuse.
Tsuna hesitated. "I'm sorry I got caught on camera?"
He held in the snicker when he heard the man slap his forehead. "Tsuna!"
"But it won't be vigilante work anymore if you knew it." He cringed. "And besides, you won't permit me from doing it. I bet you'll lock me up in here. I'm not doing this to spite you, Dad. Believe me. I just want to help. It will take a lot of time for the support to get there and get pass the villain if no one is entertaining him yet. It's the least I could do to help too, and not be a bystander."
"Given that you've been doing this for four years," The man sighed, making him wince. "just tell me you didn't engage anyone."
He shook his head. "Not one villain, Dad. I don't want to be caught by the media. Yesterday was just a mishap. The mother was pregnant and I couldn't move her without getting hit. It's either stay or die."
"At ease now." Shouta sighed. Tsuna uncurled his legs and massaged them. "No more vigilante works without telling me." He nodded. "And Nezu wants to talk to you."
"What?!" He blurted, eyes bulging.
"It's a procedure, Buddy. You either get arrested or become a student of Yuuei." Shouta smiles sympathetically, albeit sadistic. "Goodbye normal life."
"Dad!" He yelled.
"Don't whine!" He rubbed his head after receiving a chop on the head. He pouted as he earned an exasperated face. "Don't give me that look. You should've known better when you started this."
"I know." He replied, sighing. "I've done the calculations. I just don't like the hero industry. Just thinking of the spotlights, and the people here and there." He remembered his Vongola Decimo days. Those times he was taking care of the outside company too.
"They aren't that bad. Who knows, I might become your homeroom adviser." His Dad consoled.
"You're too optimistic for this." Tsuna scrunched his face as he gets up. "Who knows, I might say no to Nezu-san."
"We'll see." Aizawa challenged while getting up too. "How did you even respond that fast? It will take you twenty minutes to get there."
He walked for the kitchen. "Who said I used the normal entree?"
"You little-"
The next day, Tsuna found himself walking inside the Yuuei Academy compound with Shouta beside him. The campus itself is beautiful. There are a lot of buildings, normal ones to dome-like. He can see CCTVs everywhere too. When he got ushered to the main building, he was amazed. If the outside appearance was beautiful, the inside is top-tier. Tsuna wondered if everything was high tech too. If he remembered right from what his Dad had told him about the school, every room has superb facilities.
His Dad explained everything to him as they made their way to the principal's office. It's like he was given an on-the-spot tour. He was able to see his Dad's homeroom too. Hizashi greeted him when they peaked inside the faculty room. His uncle wanted to give him more tour, but given the circumstances, they moved it after his meeting with the principal.
When they got in front of the principal's office, Shouta was the one who knocked before opening the door. Tsuna shuffled in after his Dad walked inside. He stood beside Aizawa and eyed the principal. Like what he hears every year in the TV, the principal is a rat with human intelligence and can talk like a human too. Of what Tsuna had heard, the principal was experimented, thus dubbing him a chimera of mixed species because of his unusual height.
He can't help spitting the word 'experiment' with venom everytime he comes upon it. The brunet despised that from the bottom of his heart, because one of his mist was a child experimented too. Thanks God he was able to obliterate every famiglie who like to experiment on humans and animals when he was still alive.
"Aizawa." The principal acknowledge before standing up from his elevated seat. Beady eyes glanced at him. "So this is...?"
"Tsunayoshi Sawada, my charge and the hero vigilante who we have been monitoring for four years." His Dad introduced.
Tsuna bowed respectfully. "Nice to meet you, Sir."
"Nice to meet you too, I'm Nezu." The principal introduced. He stood straight as Aizawa nudged him to go forward as the principal smiled at him. "Can you leave us for a moment, Aizawa?"
"I'll be back later. Behave." His parent bid.
Tsuna scrunched his nose. "Don't do something I won't do."
"You already do." Shouta bite back, opening the door.
"I learn from you!" He countered, earning a fond smile before the door closed.
Tsuna turned to the principal, and straightened his posture. His intuition is warning him about the principal's quirk, which was high spec or also known as high intelligence. He'll be threading a thin line while speaking with the individual. He just hopes he doesn't reveal anything that can put him into trouble in the future.
He knew the way he presented himself again has caught the other's attention. It cannot be helped, for it had been long since he had talked to an authority. Even though he hates talking in a business-like way, he can't deny it that it's one of his strong points. He had a lot of practice with Reborn and his guardians anyway, back in his world.
"Please, take a seat, Sawada-san. Would you like some tea?" The principal offered, moving to the tea set at the side.
The brunet took the offer to seat on the chair by the table. "Yes, Nezu-san. And please call me Tsunayoshi or Tsuna. I'm not much for formalities."
"Hm." Nezu hummed before putting a cup of tea in front of him. "You're much younger than I anticipated. How old are you, Tsuna?"
"Thank you. And I'm fourteen." Pertaining for the tea and honoring his request, before he cupped his tea with his hands and winced. "I'm sorry if I caused you troubles."
"It's alright. It's just that a lot of people have been asking your identity. We couldn't give a clear answer, given how obscure you are to the media. Like father, like son, eh?" The principal joked, making him smile.
"Dad does have a big influence on my upbringing. He couldn't take in his cats because of me. Not like I couldn't take care of them for him when I was four." He sighed, remembering those times he couldn't be Shouta's happy pill. So he opted to make some cat plushies and downloaded cat videos, after he discovered his Dad's fascination with cats. The way the man's eyes sparkle in delight back in those days warms his heart whenever he remembers them.
"Ah. So you're the one who has been taking care of Aizawa." Nezu stated, making him blush a little. "At such young age too."
"It was nothing. He does all the work. I'm more of the helping hand." He denied before taking a sip on his tea.
"Speaking of helping hand, you know what is the agenda of this meeting of ours, yes?"
"Yes." He answered, placing the cup down. "Can I ask if I have any choices?"
"Given your circumstances, it's limited." The principal disclosed bluntly. "It's either you get into trial for using your quirk in public without any authorization and doing vigilante works, or you apply for Yuuei as an aspiring hero."
He can't help pursing his lips in contemplation.
"With your reaction, I bet you aren't one of those who wants to become a hero. It also came to me that I didn't see your name in our lists of applicants this year."
His lips moved to give a small smile. "It can't be helped. I'm more into helping others and hiding away after the deed, than help others and entertain people."
"I understand. Were you planning to attend a normal high school?
He nodded, feeling amused when he remembered something. "Yup. And Dad told me to say goodbye to it. He's more ecstatic than me on this. He has been singing about it in the shower last night and this morning."
Nezu gave him a mirthful grin. "Really now? How odd."
"Okay then." He surrendered after chuckling. "How does this work?"
"Well, since you have been going vigilante for four years, we need you to be one of our students. All you have to do is fill up an application form and I'll just add you up to the list of people who are to attend the entrance test and pass to become a student."
"What if I fail?"
"Do you want to disappoint Aizawa?"
His expression went deadpan. "Well played, Nezu-san."
The principal chuckled. "That's how I hide my cards. Anyway, with that, I can assure the public, especially those people who are asking for your identity, that you are a student of Yuuei and you'd like your privacy to be respected. Hence, the hidden identity and discreet vigilante works."
"That could be fair." Tsuna commented, inspecting for loopholes. "My identity will be officially announced at the Sport Festival, right?"
"Yes."
He can't help burying his head on his hands as he groaned after realizing something. "I'm torn between failing the festival or making my Dad proud by at least making it to the semi-final."
He heard the principal chuckle again. "How odd you two are."
"Tell me about it." Tsuna took a deep breath before sitting straight again and nodded. "So can I have a copy of the form I need to fill up? Does it need other requirements so they won't question the authenticity of my affiliation to the school?"
"Sawada."
Tsuna looked back to see Bakugou walking towards him. He faced the blond, loosely clutching his bag. They're about to go home, since class ended. He kinda slept through the last subject and only woke up just when the teacher announced the possible top students. He got the second place. Yehey. And since it should be something to celebrate, he texted it the news to Hizashi who sent emojis. They're so gonna wake up Shouta later.
Caramel eyes looked around to see some of their classmates eyeing them. It was obvious they're anticipating something. It can't be helped. He did stand up on Bakugou when the latter said something that shouldn't be told to other people. Some are walking eggshells around him. Others were expecting him to tell them to back off or something. There are even ones who expect him to pick a fight or have a fight with Bakugou. But at least his effect was lasting. No one is trying to lay a hand on Midoriya, and Bakugou kinda stopped pestering the greenet too.
Anyway...
"Yes, Bakugou-san?" He responded.
"My old hag wants to invite you to lunch, after hearing you saved me too from the shitty mud villain." The blond informed. "Of course, Deku will be there."
"I think I have to decline." He answered, staring at those red eyes. "I'm going to the hospital to see my parents."
"Hospital?" The other parroted, sounding confused.
"My parents have been in coma for ten years." He shrugged. "It's the reason why they're not present in parents' day or the meeting. I'm going to visit them to tell them I'm running salutatorian again this year."
Silence.
"I'm sorry." The blond apologized.
He waved it off. "It's nothing to note about, or even apologize. It's not even a secret that should be kept within my circle. And it's not your fault that they became like that. I even shared it with you, so it's alright."
"You're quite lax about this." The other noted.
"My problem is a smaller scale than what others have in mind." He shrugged. "Anyway, tell Missus Bakugou that I can't come. But thanks for the offer."
"Why aren't you entering a hero school?" Bakugou queried. "I saw your career aspiration document. You wrote two normal high schools there. With your quirk, you could come to Yuuei."
Tsuna blinked before smiling goofily. "That's for me to know, and for you to find out." He backed away with a chuckle when the blond almost fired off his quirk. "Relax. You'll know soon."
"Fine." Bakugou grunted, turning off his quirk. Red eyes stared at him though. "About what I did to Deku, I'm sorry."
"I shouldn't be the one you must apologize to, Bakugou-san. We both know that." He remarked before smiling. "But I'll only accept it once he accepts your apology."
"I'll have to wait then. It will take years before I apologize to that fucki- I mean to Deku." The blond corrected himself, coughing lightly to the side.
Tsuna chuckled at the cute attempt. "I have a long patience. I mean, I do get ticked off sometimes, but like what you did, I have to have a trigger."
"Do you want me to do an experiment? Try every possible things that could trigger your anger?"
"You might cry with the list I have, Bakugou-san. They're not that nice in the mind too."
"Really? I got curious instead."
He gave a comical gasp. "Oh no. We can't have that."
Both of them snickered at where their conversation went off.
"You know, you're not so bad after all." Bakugou remarked, smiling a little after their laughter. "Thanks for standing up on me that day."
"You are too. At least you know when to apologize and to express your gratitude, Bakugou-san." He praised back.
"Katsuki." He blinked after the blond corrected him. The latter has this small pink on his cheeks. "Call me Katsuki. I'll call you Tsuna."
The brunet grinned. "Alright then. Anyway, I'll see you around. Tell your Mom what I said."
"Yes yes."
Tsuna hummed as he turned around and walked for the stairs. He pulled out his phone when he felt it vibrate. It was his Uncle Hizashi, telling him that he's coming to visit and celebrate for his achievements (and maybe pester his Dad in the process too). He replied with a 'thank you' before glancing back to see Bakugou- Well, Katsuki, walking away for their room.
For some reason, Katsuki reminds him of Hayato.
