Chapter 67: Heroes' Day Part 3: The Battle Commences(Keith's POV)
"Keith! Can you take out this bag of trash?!" Tom calls out to him, holding a black garbage bag.
"Sure thing!"
He takes the black bag and carries it out to the back alley. He lets go of it, wiping off some sweat that formed on his forehead. Today sure is busy. Everyone in Paris wants a taste of those Chat Noir, Ladybug, Marmora, and Honeybee cookies. There are also some fox themed cookies as there have been rumors of a fox superhero being around.
Which he knows to be true.
Taking a break he lets the warm sun bathe him in light. He looks at the sky, Paris is lucky not to have gotten any snow yet. Though, then again weather has always been weird and unpredictable, no matter where you go in the world.
Keith stretches his arms, them being stiff from baking and working the front of the store early this morning.
Then something catches his eye. Walking through the alley way into the street, he notices red butterflies flying about. This just screams Hawkmoth to him. After all, butterflies and Hawkmoth seem to go hand in hand with each other.
And Paris doesn't get hoards of butterflies unless you count the one time when Hawkmoth first appeared.
This calls for him to become Marmora.
He slips back into the alleyway behind the Dupain-Cheng Bakery. Keith taps his panja bracelet's jewel and Roaar appears.
"Done baking already?"
"Nope! But something just came up, something Hawkmoth related."
Roaar wags her tail, "Awesome! So this day won't be totally boring then."
"Roaar Paint my Stripes!"
Once he's transformed, Keith jumps on the walls of the buildings in the alley and eventually jumps onto the roof. He spots some previous akumas that he and Team Miraculous have faced. Like Maldikteur, and Gigantitan.
Though how they became reakumatized is unknown to him. But they look red, so it must have something to do with those red butterflies and if that is the case then he was right about them being Hawkmoth related.
Which means they'll have to take on an akuma army. That shouldn't be a problem, after all if Voltron can take on fleets of Galra ships, certainly four people can take on an army of akumas.
Hopefully.
Besides, Rouge Renarde special ability will come in handy during this fight, especially since they have to fight an army. Some illusions would do them good.
He jumps toward the Eiffel Tower hoping to meet the other heroes there and figure out what the hell they are going to do with that akuma army Hawkmoth cooked up.
Adrien's POV
"He's using that fake fight to give the people of Paris negative emotions!" Adrien shouts, realizing why Hawkmoth would benefit from the fight. Master Fu nods, "Now if you're done pacing I'd like to help you with this fight."
He looks at Master Fu, "What do you mean, I'm sure Marmora, Chloe and Rouge can handle it."
"Ah, but I think five is better, even if you have an illusionist with you. Especially a powerful Miraculous. As you will be facing an army and this battle will decide the fate of Paris and the world."
"But doesn't Hawkmoth need my Miraculous and Ladybug's in order to get what he wants?"
Master Fu sighs as he sets the gramophone down, having left to go get it from his massage room.
Adrien sits on the rough wood floor as well, not sure what Master Fu is trying to get at. Then the compartments of the gramophone open revealing eleven other miraculouses. Master Fu choses a choker and places it into Adriens hand.
"This miraculous should help. It's the miraculous of Perfection. I believe you know who to pick for this miraculous."
"Is this a test?"
"Yes. As a Guardian, when you become one, you will need to be able to choose the right people for the job of holding them. As you decided to let the woman who found the fox necklace keep it. So I am trusting your judgment and I will watch this new hero and see if she belongs permanently to your Team Miraculous."
Adrien blinks, did Master Fu say she? Is he suggesting someone without saying who it is? He opens his closed hand, the choker has a blood red ruby in the center. It has a black linen strap and shaded beside the blood red ruby on either side is light red bat or dragon wings.
So this miraculous is either bat or dragon themed. Though he's guessing it's the latter as Master Fu said that this box contains the miraculous who's origins originate in China.
And it's the miraculous of Perfection.
Who else, like him, is expected to be perfect in everything they do? Who? Who else? Then the answer lights up in his mind.
"Alright, I know who to choose. I will not let you down Master Fu!"
Then he yells, "Plagg Claws Out!" and leaps through Master Fu's massage room window missing the smile Master Fu gives him.
He grabs out his baton and looks up Kagami's house on it. Hopefully she's there, otherwise it would be a pain to try and find her. And hopefully she hasn't turned back into Riposte. That would be bad, very bad indeed.
Keith's POV
Keith looks out on the Eiffel Tower. Sure enough Hawkmoth is there, probably monologuing to himself how flawlessly his plan paid off. Wind whips his hair as he takes stock of the situation. Considering only he and Chat Noir have actual combat experience, evident from Honeybee staying back until she can use her Venom and Rouge Renarde only using her powers to distract the akuma, like she did with Maldikteur, from what he heard from Chat anyway, and the following akuma fights.
Especially with Sapotis, she just used her power to make the creepy gremlin like akuma get distracted so they could find who the real one was and get its akuma form the hat they were wearing.
So the odds aren't going to be in their favor, however he has faith in the Team. And if anything he knows that the Team will give it their all even if they manage to lose.
Besides they've fought these villains before so it will be easy to deal with them again, even if they might have to go at it one at a time. But with the four of them, taking down akumas will be a cinch.
His main problem is dealing with Hawkmoth. From the looks of it, Hawkmoth has a cane he can use as a weapon, which can act like a sword. And he doesn't know if this Hawkmoth is a fighter either.
As the guy is like Zarkon, a person who deals in the shadows and orchestrates everything like a conductor in a play. Essentially Hawkmoth is the mastermind, but whether this mastermind can do his own work for him when his allies are gone. Well, that's going to be something he'll have to keep in mind.
Since he just can't go in guns blazing without his teammates. That would get him cornered easily by the akumas. Which would ensure his miraculous get taken.
So for now he'll have to play the waiting game.
Chloe's POV
"Hey, is Keith back yet?" asks Tom.
Chloe looks at him, noticing that Raven is gone. Odd.
"Back from what?"
"I asked him to take out the trash, but he hasn't come back. I was wondering if he was helping you and Sabine in the back, but it doesn't look like he's here."
She tilts her head. Why would Raven disappear like that? They had finally gotten some quality time together, as akumas had kept interrupting their dates. Either because some person where they were having their date got akumatized or because an akuam alert altered them to an akuma attack happening.
Which meant, of course, gallivanting off to help Chat and that newbie fight the accursed akuma.
At least the newbie fox heroine helped limit how time they had to spend fighting akumas. Which was a godsend the last few days. Though Chloe wonders how the fox impressed the old man who handed out the miraculous. As she assumes that everyone who gets a miraculous gets it from that sweet old man.
"Hey, I'm sure Keith is alright." Tom says, putting his hand on her shoulder. She blushes, not thinking that she was letting her emotions show, but accepts the gesture anyway. As she is worried about Raven.
Unless, she inwardly groans, of course! An akuma must've popped up. That would be the only logical reason for Keith to disappear like this. But, what could have alerted him….
That's when Chloe heard screaming. She rushes out into the front of the Bakery and sees red akumas, like the Mime, Princess Fragrance, Dark Cupid and others all parading the streets.
"I got to check on my father!" She shouts as an excuse to leave. Despite hearing Marinette's parents protest, she goes outside and runs, looking for a place to transform.
Finding a spot in a random alleyway she yells, "Pollen Buzz On!" Then she runs outside of the alleyway, swings her spinning top and leaps. Landing on a roof of a building she runs towards the Eiffel Tower, as it seems the akuma army is heading there.
Once she gets closer she spots Marmora, Raven's superhero identity, standing and waiting underneath the Paris sunshine on a roof.
Getting to him, finally, she asks, "How big is the akuma army?"
"It's probably about a Galra Cruisers worth. Which means it will be fighting a ships fleet, except the fleet is on the ground and there isn't a mothership. So I'd say there are around thirty akumas as there are about thirty ships in a Galra fleet. So it should be easy to take them out and surround Hawkmoth, although I do have doubts."
Chloe stares at him. What does he mean by a Galra Cruisers worth, a mothership and a Galra fleet? The only thing she understood is that there are about thirty akumas and adding Hawkmoth to the playing field that leaves about thirty one combatants to face off against.
"Marm what is…"
"Honeybee, do you think you can handle fighting about five-six akumas by yourself? As I think it would be faster if we each took on a group of akumas and then if one of us is done we could help the others and then face off Hawkmoth together."
Can she handle facing off mupilte akumas at once?
"I think that's a good idea, but I'm not sure I can face off six akumas by myself. Especially since I can only use my Venom only once."
Marmora sighs, "I thought so."
What does he mean by I thought so? Does he mean he thinks I can't handle the task!? Then why ask? Unless he was trying to see if I felt confident enough to not depend on my Venom?
Adrien's POV
"Kagami." Adrien says. Which startles his fencing classmate.
Kagami turns to face him, "Oh, it's you Chat Noir. What do you want?"
Relieved she isn't mad at him, Adrien replies, "Kagami Tsurgi, I want you to hold the dragon miraculous and aid me and my team in the fight against Hawkmoth. As he has somehow gathered an army of akumas."
His classmate huffs, "Don't you have that fox hero?"
"Yes, but she is still new at this. Despite her having good control over her power, she, like Honeybee, relies on it too much and doesn't do much actual combat. Marmora on the other hand, I can count on hand the times he used his power. Despite what those two think, sometimes we don't need to paralyze our enemy so we can get the akuma and sometimes we don't need an elaborate illusion to fight our battles for us. Which is why I am asking you to join the fight, maybe even join our Team permanently."
"Are you sure you aren't just saying that to get me to help you?"
"Cat's honor. Besides, I have a feeling you'd make an excellent addition to our team."
Adrien hands her the choker. Kagami puts it on around her neck and a kwami appears. It has two large horns which have darker red stripes on them, it also has solid red spikes on its head that cover its forehead. It also has a tail with fins sticking out of it, like how Toothless from How to Dragon has fins on his tail for flying.
"I am Longg, kwami of Perfection."
Author's Note: I've decided to end the chapter here, as if I continued it would be a really long chapter. Also the next chapter will be the end of the Intro Arc to Kwamis and Lions and I am feeling better so I will probably start the other arc the day or two days after I post the last chapter of the Intro Arc to Kwamis and Lions. Hope you enjoyed the chapter and the next chapter I am having Kagami and Zoe POV it, as this chapter focused mainly on Keith, Chloe and Adrien:)
