It's been four months since the weeding it's currently October 25th, the kids are extremely excited for halloween as they didn't get to go trick or treating last year as they were in between foster homes, which breaks Kelly's and Evans hearts.
They are all getting ready for school and work, Carla's at the house with Chris, Eddie had to go to an appointment with Stella before work, Stella's currently teaching at the academy since she's 20 weeks pregnant and Sylvie is still on ambo but she's 18 weeks pregnant.
Kelly and Evan get the kids ready for school and get them breakfast then head out after they say their goodbyes.
Evan and Kelly arrive at the firehouse with ten minutes to spare, so they go and get dressed in their uniforms, then head to the common room just as Brett and Casey and Eddie and Stella arrive.
"What's up?" Kelly asks knowing that both sets of couples had appointments today.
"You go first Kidd and Diaz as I know you have to get to the academy Kidd." Casey says and Brett nods
"Thanks Captain. We had our 20 week appointment this morning, we told Chris first as we FaceTimed him, but we are having… Eddie, you wanna do the honours?" Stella says and asks
Herman pipes up and says "out with it all ready." Everyone chuckles at this, even Stella and Eddie, then Eddie says "we are having twin girls." There's whoops and congratulations heard through the whole common room.
Then Brett pipes up and says "your having twins?" Stella nods as her best friend hugs her, then Brett says to the crowd "so are we a boy and girl."
There's more whoops and congratulations heard throughout the whole house.
"I'm happy for you man, you deserve this." Kelly says as he gives Casey a bro hug and a clap on the back.
Evan goes to Eddie and says "I'm so happy for you guys! How's Chris with the idea of two little sister's?" Evan asks, thinking of the boy who made him want to be a dad.
"He's so excited, he's thrilled." Stella answers and Eddie just beams at her.
"That's good I'm happy for the three of you!" Evan says giving Eddie and Stella each a hug.
"Thanks man, I appreciate that." Eddie says
"Yea thanks Evan." Stella says still beaming with happiness.
Just then the bells go of for a person in distress so Brett and violet both run out to the apparatus floor to the ambo.

The rest of the morning goes slow just calls for ambo, they run drills and do paperwork most of the morning.
Then around noon a call comes in that no parent ever wants to hear…
ALL UNITS FULLY ENGULFED STRUCTURE FIRE AT CHICAGO NORTH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.
That's when Evans and Kelly's hearts fall into their stomachs.
"Kel…" Evan starts to say but Kelly nods and says "I know babe."
"What's wrong?" Casey asks
"That's the school Nate, Sky and James go to." Kelly says.
Eddie pipes up saying "Chris goes there too."
"Shit. Okay everyone listen up this school we are going to have four of our own. Chris, Nate, Sky and James go to this school. " Casey says as everyone rushes to their rigs.
"They will be okay." Kelly tries to reassure his husband who's looking like a ghost, but Kelly is terrified, for the first time in a long time.
All the crews jump into the trucks with squad 3 and 9 and boden in the lead.
"They will be ok." Tony tries to comfort his lieutenant.
"Thanks Tony, I hope your right." Kelly says praying for the first time in a long time.
They get to the scene quickly as it's only five blocks from 51.
Half the school is fully engulfed and the other half is quickly catching.
"Kelly, Evan, and Eddie frantically look for their kids in the mass sea of kids.
Eddie finds Chris first.
"Chris thank god! Are you ok?" Eddie asks beside himself with worry.
"Yea." Cough "yea I'm ok." Cough "Violet, Brett can you check Chris out please.
"Sure Eddie." The two woman says and looks after Chris for him.
While Kelly's gone to talk to the principal Evan asks Chris "have you seen Nate, Sky or James." Chris shakes his head as he has an oxygen mask on and Evan curses under his breath, nods as he rubs a hand over his face then says "thanks Chris." Then heads to find Kelly.
"Their names are Nathan Buckley Severide, Skylar Buckley Severide and James Buckley Severide grades 6, 3 and kindergarten." Kelly says frantically, just as he hears "Dad! Pops!" Kelly and Evans heads whip around to see Nate racing towards them.
"Thank God! You okay?" Kelly asks hugging his son tightly, then Evan does the same thing.
"Yea just got a burn on my arm, when I was trying to get to sky's classroom, it's full of fire pops, I'm really worried." Nate says and Kelly nods, he's worried too.
"We will get them where's Sky and James classrooms?" Kelly asks as Evan get Violet and Brett to check Nate out as Chris just needs oxygen so he can sit on the bumper of 61 and get that.
"Sky's is in the upstairs of the west wing room W289 and James on in the south wing down stairs S109." Nate tells his parents, just as Cheif comes over.
"Okay squad 3 you take the west up stairs wing, squad 9 you take the south downstairs wing. Truck primary search, engine get a line in there, 61 set up triage we are gonna need a lot more ambo's." boden barks
Everybody nods their heads and says "yes chief."
Before Kelly and Evan have a chance to leave Nate says "be careful please."
"Of course bud." Kelly says and Evan nods his agreement and says "we will see you soon."
Nate nods and lets his parents go.
"Chief, can I stay with you?" Nate asks Boden.
Boden looks to Kelly and Evan as they are gearing up and they both nod.
Just then Nate's teacher comes over and says "Nathan come over with the class and don't bother the firefighters, please." The man says
Just then Kelly's by Nate's side and says "I'm his father and me and my husband are the firefighters so he can stay over here." Kelly growls then Chief says "yes Nate is fine to be over here with me."
"Okay." The man simply says and retreats back to his class.
Kelly and Evan gear up to go inside Evan says "Eddie with me, Mills and Gallo go search the rest of the south side. " the men nod and do as their told with a "yes Lieutenant."
Meanwhile Kelly tells his men "Cruz with me, Tony and Capp go search the rest of the west wing."
They also nod and say "yes lieutenant." And head off in the direction their lieutenant told them to go.
Once Kelly and Evan are in the building the two squads split up but not before Evan and Kelly squeezed each other's hands in reassurance.
It's an inferno in the school, Boden finds out that a chemistry experiment went very wrong, that's why the school caught on fire.
Evan reached James classroom easily, there are flames licking the walls and the ceiling. He yells "fire department call out." He years yelling behind a door that's blocked by a beam.
"Help me with this beam." Evan tells Eddie.
Eddie nods and helps Evan move the beam, then Evan kicks down the door.
Evan rushes in and saw James teacher Mrs. Allan.
"James, James Buckley Severide." Evan calls out frantically.
"Daddy! 'Cough' I'm over 'cough' here 'cough'" James says .
Evan races to James as Eddie helps the other kids and Mrs. Allan out.
"James buddy are you okay?" The father asks.
"Yea 'cough' it's Smokey in here daddy." James says
"I know bud." Evan says then he takes off his mask and gives it to James and says "keep this over your face tell we get out of here." Evan says James nods weakly then evan picks him up.
"We didn't know James dad was a firefighter!" A little boy says.
"Yes both me and my husband James other father are firefighters." Evan says proudly.
Then races out the building with James.
"Brett, violet. 'Cough' James has smoke inhalation." Evan says
Brett and Violet races over and takes the little boy from his dad and starts working on him. Evan radios Kelly saying "Kel, I got James."
"Thank God! I'm almost to Sky's classroom. Is James okay?" Kelly asks
"Then Brett radios saying "Severide he has smoke inhalation, we are racing him to med."
"Go with him evan I'll bring sky and Nate to med when I get our daughter." Kelly says evan hesitates for a second but says "okay I love you Kelly be safe."
"I will, take care of our son." Kelly says
"Of course." Then evan turns to chief and asks "do you have Nate?"
"Of course, go I got Nate!" Boden says
"Thanks chief." Evan says then heads to med with James and Brett and violet.
Meanwhile the west wing is completely engulfed.
They finally reach Skys classroom and Kelly knocks down the door.
"Is this Skylar Buckley Severides classroom?" Kelly asks the teacher, who nods and says "yes but she went to the bathroom and hasn't come back yet."
Kelly's heart sinks.
"Cruz get everyone out I'm going to find my daughter." Kelly says.
"Of course, go." Cruz says and leads everyone out of the school.
Kelly goes to the girls bathrooms that's just down the hall, he sees Sky about two feet away from the girls bathroom, passed out on the ground.
"Sky!" He yells and races to her.
He checks for a pulse, it's barely there but she's not breathing. He gives her CPR, then just as she starts breathing boden yells over the radio, "Evacuate now the roof is about to cave!" Kelly grabs Sky and races down the steps, towards the door but when he's four feet from the door a beam comes down and hits Kelly on the back of the head and his back. Luckily Tony and Capp were close by, they radio "Mayday, Mayday firefighter down, it's severide he has sky!" Tony calls over his radio.
"We will get them chief." Casey says and takes Eddie and Cruz with him, they reach severide and pull the beam off of him, Capp Carries Sky out to the ambos, Nate's by his sisters side in an instant.
Then Nate sees his worst fear, Kelly being carried out unconscious and not breathing. Casey, Cruz, Capp and Tony are carrying him out just as Brett and Violet arrive back on scene. Brett sees what's going on and races the gurney over to the guys.
"What the hell happened?" Brett asks
"Beam came down on his head and back when he was bringing Skylar out." Toney says, rubbing a hand over his face. Tony's always has had a soft spot for the lieutenant.
"Where's Skylar?" Violet asks "with ambo 20" Casey says
Just then Nate races over to his father "Pops!" Nate screams. Everyone's heart breaks for the young boy. Casey grabs Nate before he can get close to Kelly and hugs him tight, then says "you don't want to see your father like this, let the paramedics work!" "I can't lose anymore parents!" Nate yells with tears streaming down his face.
"I know bud, I know!" Casey says, he can sympathize with Nate, he knows what it's like to be parentless and in foster care, he doesn't want anyone that he cares about to go through that and he hates that the Buckley-Severide kids have already been through it, and he will protect them with his life. Same as he will do for his own kids once they are born.
Nate sobs into his uncles arms, his sister and father are fighting for their lives and James is already in the hospital, he can't lose anymore people.
Brett then says "we are racing him to med, someone best give Evan an update ." She locks eyes with casey when she says the last part.
"Boden, go with your firefighter I'll take over now." Chief Hatcher says "thank you boden says.
"Nate can come with us." Casey says boden nods, Casey gets Nate into the truck, Nate rests his head on Mouchs shoulder as Casey goes and finds Nate's teacher from earlier when he does he says "Are you Nathan Buckley Severide's teacher?" Casey asks and the man nods then says "yes Mr.fisher why?"
"We are taking him to the hospital with us as his father and sister have been taken to med."
Mr Fisher gets a confused look on his face then asks "is his father a teacher here?"
"No he's a firefighter, he got injured" Casey explained as calmly as possible.
"Where is his mother?"
Fisher asks apparently not knowing anything about his student.
"His other father, because yes he has two fathers, is at the hospital with Nate's brother."
Casey says sharply.
"Well his other father will have to pick him up as only family can."
Fisher says curtly.
"Hell man, this firehouse is his family. I'm the closest thing that his one father has to a brother and if you want to fight a whole lot of angry firefighters, fine, but the Buckley Severide children are our family and WE ARE taking Nate to the hospital with us." Casey yells, losing his patience.
"Fine." Fisher finally agrees.
Casey marches back to the truck, 61 is long gone he pounds on the side of the truck and says "let's go."
"Thanks uncle Matt." Nate says hiccuping.
"No problem, your our family, I'd fight to the ends of the earth for you and your siblings and both of your fathers." Casey says matter of factly.
Then mouch adds "we all would." "Thanks guys."

Meanwhile at med, Evans in the hall talking with Natalie when he hears Maggie yell "firefighter and a tender age female coming in, Nat we need you, we are going to Baghdad people." Evans heart sinks he rushes to Maggie and says "please tell me the firefighter isn't my husband and the young girl isn't my daughter." Evan begs just as ambo 20 comes in with Sky.
He looks up and he's his daughter unconscious and burned on her arm and neck. He races to Skylars side.
"Excuse us sir." The paramedic says
"I'm her father." Evan says.
"Sky baby, it will be okay." He sys soothingly to her
Then Brett and violet bring Kelly in and Casey rushes to Evan as he starts to sob.
"He will be okay." Casey tries to reassure Evan.
Evan hears Brett tell Dr Halstead his stats "he coded once in the ambo, he's got a possible brain bleed and his back was injured," Brett says through her tears.
She became close with Kelly and Evan through Matt and she'd hate to see anything happen to any of the Buckley-severide family.
Evan sobs as he hears what happened to his husband. That's when Casey says "you have to be strong for Nate, he's a mess he watched us pull Sky and Kelly out of the school, you have to be strong right now!"
Evan nods and wipes his wyes just as Nate rushes in the ED.
"Dad!" Nate yells as he runs to his father, who engulfed him in a hug.
"Hey bud, you okay?" Evan asks looking at Nate's red, blotchy face and his arm that's burned, Evan gets Maggie's attention then asks "Maggie Nate's got a burn on his arm can someone check it out please?"
"Sure, come with me bud." Maggie says sweetly.
Nate shakes his head then says "what about Pops?" Evan sighs, saying "they are looking after him, you go and get better I'll be in the waiting room ok?" Evan asks, Nate nods then says "I love you dad." Evan has tears in his eyes as he says "I love you to Nate, so much." Nate then goes with Maggie and Casey and Eddie direct Evan to the waiting room.
"I called Carla, she knows what happened and she's got Chris with her and when you want her to pick up Nate and James she will, she says don't worry about Avery and she's sending you good thoughts and her love, she also said if you need anything at all to let her know, ok?" Eddie states and asks.
Evan nods, saying "thanks Eddie."
Just then Natilie comes out, Evan jumps up and asks "how's James and Sky?"
Natilie sighs, then says "James will need a puffer, we are keeping him overnight then in two weeks I want to see him again. As for Skylar, she's in critical condition, we are keeping an eye on her, but one of her lungs got to much smoke and she's going to need a transplant, I'm so sorry Evan." Evan sobs, he threatens to fall on the ground but Casey's right there to pick him back up, he hugs the man who has become a good friend to him, Casey has tears in his eyes, he can't imagine what Evan is going through right now.
Natilie goes back to check on patients just as Will Halstead comes out.
"How's Kelly?" Casey asks and Evan whips around to be faced with a grim doctor Halstead.
"He's in critical condition, he's got a TBI and they are in the OR working on that as well as internal bleeding, he's also cracked his vertebrae in his neck again we are going to fix it but I don't know if he will ever fight fires again. I'm so, so sorry Evan." Halstead says just as the rest of the house piles in from going to call their families to let them know what's going on.
Evan does crumbles to the floor this time.
His husband is in critical condition and so is his seven year old daughter. He doesn't know how he would live through this if something ever happened to either or both of them…
