Hey, everyone. Don't worry, I'm back with another chapter of 5ds Heroes for all of you. I'm sure you guys have been wondering what hole I was hiding in. Well, that hole is called quarantine and school has been annoyingly hectic. But since I'm done with school, I have a bit more free time to write.
So… after a lot of thinking and more than a few hours playing Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution, I came to a major decision.
I'm bringing in Link monsters.
Some of you might be shocked by this decision, but now that I got over my hate and the fact that Master Rule 5 allows us to use extra deck monsters on all six fields, I realize how stupid I've been. The Rokket and Salamangreat decks are extremely fun, so it wouldn't make sense to not allow them to be at full use. So for this chapter, I will introduce them in a way that at least makes some sense(I am an idiot, so please bear with me.)
But let's let the chapter speak for itself. TO THE REVIEWS!
Darth Stigma: Dammit, thanks for pointing that out.
Shadow Joestar: Glad you liked the last chapter, but I'm not sure about having Akiza in the story. I love her, but she might not fit well here. BUT… she is in my friend Earth Dragon Arnighte's story, Black Clover: Rise of the Monsters.
Messiah of authors: Hehehe, thanks for saying that. I know this is a 5ds crossover, but having other series in this makes it feel much larger than you would think.
TitchTitan: Fire and Frost…. GENIUS! Especially with the new Ice Barrier support that's coming.
GracefulArt: Oh dude, Dinowrestlers are fun asf. Using Ultimate Conductor Tyranno makes it even more dangerous. Oh, Bakugo will appear and sooner than you think.
Blazing Fire Hawk: Dude, I chose Yang Zings cause I love using them. I didn't even realize the coincidence. Thanks for pointing that out.
MyHero: Thanks for backing me up, but I'm sure that troll just wants attention. Don't give it to him.
Rebellion Rose: Thanks.
Stormbreaker42: Glad you're a fan. But yeah, you'll see the heroes in a few chapters since I don't wanna rush its introduction.
Max: Thank you.
Gabriel Lacar: If only you knew who was using Galaxies…
Farhan Nugraha: Okay, okay.
Guest: Thanks for the info.
Sykotardis2: Signers will be in the story and this chapter might hint at it.
Dinocam3: It'll be a long time before we even get to the Earthbound Immortals.
Last chapter: Eijiro Kirishima struggled with some of his exams, yet instead of asking others for help, he opted to keep his problems to himself. Seeing this, Mina Ashido attempted to help him open up and the only way she knew how was through a duel. It was Dinowrestlers vs Aliens and while Eijiro put up a good fight, Mina ended up claiming victory and thus, helped her friend move on to trust others with his academic issues.
What new challenges will our students face? Let's find out.

Battlin Boxer Lead Yoke, Bloom Diva the Melodious Choir, Buster Blader, and Speedroid Terrortop fly in the air before Stardust Spark Dragon appears next to Izuku as he drives in the streets with a smile.
Yugioh 5ds Heroes!
*BOOM*
A loud explosion erupted in the middle of a dueling field. Several students coughed loudly from the smoke, even though it was technically virtual. A particular student, a second year, stepped back from the smoke with wide eyes, his Alligator Sword monster following suit.
"H-Hang on. W-Why don't we calm down? You already won!" The second year called out in a pleading tone. However, his opponent didn't seem to waver as their monster raised its head, their glowing yellow eyes looking down at Alligator Sword.
Their opponent… is none other than Itsuka Kendo.
She cracked a smile while putting a hand on her hip. "Sorry, but a duel's a duel." She said with a slightly apologetic tone, though it sounded more playful. "Black Rose, attack his Alligator Sword!" Her monster pulled back its large neck before opening its mouth. Soon, a large yellow beam was fired, engulfing Alligator Sword in a large explosion.
"NNNNOOOOO!" The second year let out a scream before the shockwaves caused him to fall on his back.
Richard: 500-0; Winner: Itsuka Kendo
The crowd began cheering for both duelists for their duel, though a majority were favoring Kendo than her opponent. Kendo let out a sigh before she deactivated her duel disk, allowing her monster to disappear.
"That was amazing, Kendo!" Several female students ran up to the orange haired duelist, who smiled at them.
"Thanks. But I wish I finished a little earlier." Kendo answered honestly while checking her phone. "We barely have time to finish lunch." She let out a sigh before she and her friends made their way towards the cafeteria.
However, little did she know, she was being watched.
"Wow, Kendo's really improving, isn't she?" A man with dark blue hair that reached his shoulders and grey eyes said with a smile on his face. Standing next to him is none other than Toshinori Yagi, better known as the duelist All Might. Both men were simply enjoying their lunch break, but the duel caught their attention.
"Agreed. Her combinations and use of Synchro monsters are the best I've seen in this generation." Toshinori said with his own smile, drinking from his soda can. "Tell me Bruno, how has your automotive class been?"
"If you're looking for an upgrade on your Duel Runner, let me know." The man now known as Bruno said with a chuckle. "But so far, everyone's been interested in how to make their own runners. Though…"
"Yes?" Toshoniri raised a brow curiously.
"Some of the students have been wondering when they would be able to use an actual runner. Are you students like that? I know a lot of them want to start driving." Bruno asked the pro duelist, who sighed a bit.
"They have the spirit, but until they get their licenses, it wouldn't be right to have them drive." Toshinori confessed. Bruno gave the duelist a sympathetic look before he left his phone buzzing. Taking out his phone, he answered it.
"Yes? This is Bruno." He waited for a response, only to widen his eyes. "It did? Wonderful! Please have it sent to my workshop as soon as possible… Thank you, goodbye." Bruno hung up the phone with an even bigger smile.
"Did something happen?" Toshinori couldn't help but ask.
"I think I have a solution for both our problems, All Might." Bruno said with a knowing chuckle, making Toshinori even more confused.
"Well, I have faith in your, Bruno." Toshinori told his co-worker before walking away. He felt his pocket vibrate, prompting him to take out his phone to look at his message.
"REMINDER TO ALL TEACHERS: The new set of rules are to be exploited starting tomorrow. All dueling classes will be given practice cards."
"Damn. It's already being set." Toshinori muttered while running a hand on his face. "I have some studying to do."
The student's of Toshinori's class were DEFINITELY going to have a surprise for tomorrow.
'The next day'
"Good morning, class. I hope all of you are doing good today." Toshinori said to his seventh period class with a smile. "As I'm sure all of you know, a new summoning method is set to release this week and Duel Academy has the honor of teaching its students."
"Oh yeah, I heard about that." Ochaco said to her friends. "But I always thought that was just a rumor someone made to freak them out."
"Nonsense!" Tenya spoke up with his glasses shining. "I can confirm without a doubt that this new summoning method is legitimate. My brother works with Industrial Illusions closely and he has told me about this."
"So what is the new summoning method?" Kendo asked with a hand raised. To answer her, Toshinori reached into his pocket and pulled out a single card.
"This is known as a Link monster. Please pass it around." Toshinori asked while handing it to Kendo, who took this chance to observe it. It was a blue card, much like a ritual monster, yet it looked more like a code pattern. In addition to this, there was an outline of a square, with a total of nine arrows on it. She also noticed how the monster had no defense points and how only one arrow was a different color, orange. "The monster you're all looking at is called Linkuriboh, a Link one monster. As you can tell, it's much different from a Fusion, Synchro, XYZ and Pendulum monster. In order to summon a Link, you need to sacrifice a certain number of monsters, depending on how many arrows the Link monster has. But, some monsters need special requirements to summon, like Linkuriboh, who needs one level one monster."
"Can you use a Link monster to Link summon?" Shark asked out loud.
"Actually, you can." Toshinori explained, smiling at the question. "Some Link monsters can even count as multiple tributes, but it really depends on what you're summoning. Speaking of that, the usual card zones you know about have changed." Taking out a clipper, Toshinori aimed it at the wall before pressing a button. Soon, a holoscreen appeared behind him, showing off a normal duel set up. However, everyone noticed there were two card zones over the monster zones, with them being labeled as "Extra Monster Zone." "With the new summoning method comes a new deck board. What you see is called the Extra Monster Zone, which can be used for monsters that are summoned from the extra deck and these are where many of the Link Monsters will be set on." Toshinori pressed the button again, which showed Lunkuriboh appear on the left Extra Monster Zone, with its Link Arrow glowing. "But, when the Link mark of your Link Monster is pointing towards a zone in the Main Monster Zone, that changes to another Extra Monster Zone."
"I see. These new Link monsters focus on linking with one another, correct?" Tenya questioned with a hand raised.
"Right. But besides Link Monsters and Pendulum, you will still be able to summon Fusion, Synchro and XYZ monsters in the main monster zones. Given how many times Pendulum focused decks summon their monsters from the Extra Deck, it helps limit that issue for many decks." Toshinori finished explaining while turning off the screen. His class had a mix of confused, yet interested expressions with the new ruling. Although none of them truly used Pendulum monsters besides Tenya, this new ruling would provide new tactics for duels. "To help show how these new rules work, two of you will have a duel with several prototype Link Monsters we have." At this, several of the students raised their hands, though their teacher smiled. "I'm glad to see many of you are excited for this. Let's see… Kendo and… Tokoyami."
Both students stepped forward once they were called up, giving each other a determined expression.
"For this duel, we'll need to make a little trip." Toshinori said as he turned around. "Follow me."
*Thud*
However, he stopped when he heard something fall behind him. He turned around and noticed his students looking at the floor, some with surprised expressions while others raised a brow to him. He followed their eyes, only to sweatdrop in embarrassment.
The object that fell out of his pocket… was a book titled 'Link Monsters for dummies.'
"..." Toshinori said nothing as he reached down and picked up his book. He then proceeded to walk forward like nothing happened, making his class sweatdrop.
They weren't going to question this… for now.
'Duel Academy Workshop'
"I'm sure all of you know about the Duel Academy Workshop?" Toshinori asked his class as they all stood in the middle of a large workshop. It was full of tables and tools scattered on it, with some duel disks taken apart. "I'm sure all of you are wondering why exactly our class is taking place here."
"Oh, you're here." Bruno poked his head from the corner of the backroom. He then walked to the students, wiping away any sweat he may have had on his head. "Afternoon. I'm sure some of you know who I am, but in case you don't, my name is professor Bruno Antinomy. I teach the research and development class here in Duel Academy. Your teacher here told me you're all learning about the new Link monsters and I think I know a way to help. Please follow me." He gestured All Might's class to follow him to the backroom. Once they passed the corner, the class collectively widened their eyes at what they were seeing.
"Woah…"
"Are those…"
"Awesome…"
Inside the backroom of the workshop were two large machines, equipped with what looked like Duel Runners. Each had a large screen in the front, along with controls and a deck slot.
"I'm sure all of you are wondering what these two beautiful machines are, am I right?" Bruno asked rhetorically while smiling. "These are the latest in Turbo Duel prototype technology. Of course, we can't allow our students to have Turbo Duels without a license, so I spoke with Principal Nezu and came up with this solution."
"And because they just came in, I thought the best way to teach you all about Speed Duels is to use these machines to simulate a Turbo Duel." Toshinori finally revealed to his class. "Kendo, Tokoyami. You two will be the first to use these machines in a mock Turbo Duel, along with these Link monsters in your decks." He then handed both Tokoyami and Kendo a total of three Link monsters, which they began to study.
"Now, that being said, this IS more a test. So, please don't try to break the controls out of anger." Bruno asked the two students with a nervous smile. The machines did have insurance, but he would rather have them operate at full power rather than wait for them to be repaired.
"Of course. Take a seat, you two." Toshinori instructed the two students. Tokoyami sat on the machine on the left while Kendo took the right. The two placed their duel disks in their respective slots.
"Duel Disks, activate." Both devices activated their energy blades while shuffling their decks. The screens turned on, showing what looked like a first person city wide race course, barriers and all. Both students drew their five cards, putting them on the card holder on their right arm.
"DUEL!"
Fumikage Tokoyami/Itsuka Kendo: 8000LP
The simulation started, with the duel runners in the virtual simulation driving forward.
"Remember: in a Turbo Duel, the one who drives past the checkpoint first makes the first move." Toshinori reminded his students. "Remember where the accelerator is, but don't push it."
"Yes sir!" Both Tokoyami and Kendo began increasing the speed of their 'duel runners', allowing the speed gauge on the bottom left corner to slowly increase. The two continued to drive forward, trying to beat the other to the checkpoint. It was a common rule among duelists: the first one to make the first move always sets themselves up for a win.
After a full minute of driving forward… Kendo was able to cross it first.
"I draw!" Kendo drew her sixth card, making the first move. She looked at it before smiling. "I summon Formula Athlete Sonic Meister in attack mode!" Appearing on the screen of the simulator was a white, orange and blue formula race car with two large rocket engines, a stylish spoiler and a driver in the middle of it.
Formula Athlete Sonic Meister: LV 4. Att: 0/Def: 1000
"Zero attack points? What's good about summoning something like that?" Kaminari said out loud with a confused expression.
"It's called a special ability, genius." Jirou told him while nudging his side.
"Now, Sonic Meister's ability activates!" Kendo shouted, getting everyone's attention. "It gets 300 attack points times its level. And since it's level four, it gets a big boost!" The race car monster began to charge up its engine as a white aura began to surround it.
Formula Athlete Sonic Meister: Att: 0-1200
"Next, I play the spell Formula Athlete Wheel Change!" Kendo activated another spell card, which had an image of a pit crew putting in a new wheel for Sonic Meister.
"What does that do?" Tokoyami questioned as he looked over to Kendo, who smiled.
"Don't worry about it. But, you should be worried about Sonic Meister." She told him as the monster suddenly began to glow again.
Formula Athlete Sonic Meister: LV 4-5. Att: 1200-1500
"Interesting. So this is the power of Formula Athletes." Bruno spoke up with an impressed look.
"What do you mean, professor?" Ochaco couldn't help but ask.
"He means they have a special power." Shark said with a frown. "When one Formula Athlete spell or trap is activated, they gain a level. So, if Kendo keeps playing those cards, then her monsters will get stronger."
"I end my turn with two cards facedown!" Kendo put two cards in her duel disk, which allowed them to appear in the simulation.
"WARNING. TURN APPROACHING." A robotic female voice suddenly spoke up as the road in front of them was closed, with a "NO ENTRY" barrier in front of it.
"Autopilot is offline. What will the two of you do?" Toshinori asked with a serious tone. He wanted to have the students to face realistic situations since many Turbo Duels were unpredictable. Seeing this, both students quickly turned their 'duel runners' to the designated area in order not to crash, despite being in a simulation. However, Tokoyami seemed to have cut it close as the left side of his runner was scratched.
"Draw!" Tokoyami drew his card before examining it. "I activate the continuous spell, Raidraptor-Nest!" A spell card with an image of two bird-shaped lights flying away from a nest, which had an egg in it. "Then, I summon Raidraptor-Vanishing Lanius in attack mode!" A gust of wind appeared on screen before a shadowy figure shot out of it. It was an avian-like machine with dark blue skin, green armor, engines coming out of its wings, a red symbol on its chest and a blue orb on its forehead.
Raidraptor-Vanishing Lanius: LV 4. Att: 1300/Def: 1600
"Ahh, Raidraptors. An interesting choice." Bruno commented with a smile. He knew of the Raidraptor archetype, but seeing it first hand was something else.
"Because I successfully summoned Vanishing Lanius to my field, its ability is activated!" Tokoyami shouted as the bird began to glow on screen. "On the turn it is summoned, I can special summon another Raidraptor monster from my hand. I summon Raidraptor-Tribute Lanius in attack mode!" Vanishing Lanius began to flap its wings, creating a large gust of wind before a screech emerged from it. Coming out of the wind was another avian-like machine much like Vanishing Lanius, only this one had dark purple wings in the shape of a half circle, engines coming from the edge of its wings, twin yellow circles on its back, a sharp gray colored beak and a red symbol on its neck.
Raidraptor-Tribute Lanius: LV 4. Att: 1800/Def: 400
"Tribute Lanius' ability activates!" Tokoyami declared. "When it's successfully summoned, I can send one Raidraptor monster from my deck to the graveyard. I choose Raidraptor-Mimicry Lanius!" One card ejected from his deck before he sent it to the graveyard. "Raidraptor-Nest's now activates! Because I have two Raidraptor monsters on my field, I can add another Raidraptor monster from my deck to my hand!" A card ejected out of Tokoyami's deck, allowing him to add it to his hand. "Now, I Overlay my two Raidraptor monsters!" Both monsters turned to blobs of purple energy as the Overlay Network appeared on the ground. The blobs then entered the vortex. "Bird of sharp talons, arrive and tear through your prey! I XYZ summon… Raidraptor-Force Strix!" The Overlay Network exploded in a bright flash of light on screen.
Flying up from the network with a dark mist around it was a new winged machine. It resembled an owl with a brown coating, several dark purple circles with green centers on its body, large dark purple talons and a matching colored brown on its head.
Raidraptor-Force Strix: Rank 4. Att: 100/Def: 2000
'That isn't a terrible monster. It has good defense, but it's too weak to attack my Sonic Meister.' Kendo thought with narrowed eyes. She had seen some of Tokoyami's duels in class every now and then, and he didn't seem like the type of guy to rush someone.
"Mimicry Lanius' ability activates from the graveyard!" Tokoyami called out, snapping her out of her thoughts. "On the turn it is sent to the graveyard, by banishing it, I'm allowed to add another Raidraptor card to my hand!" Mimicry Lanius ejected from Tokoyami's graveyard before he pocketed it. A card then ejected out of his deck before he added it to his hand. "Next, I activate Force Strix's ability! By using one Overlay Unit, I can add a level four dark winged beast from my deck to my hand!" One of Force Strix's overlay units suddenly disappeared as another card ejected out of his deck so he could add it to his hand, replenishing it entirely.
"In one turn, he was able to replenish his entire hand. Tokoyami never fails to impress us." Tenya commented with a nod of respect.
"I end my turn with one card facedown." Tokoyami finished while setting one last card. The two runners on screen then began to turn right when they reached a corner.
"Draw!" Kendo drew her next card before smiling at it. "Perfect. I summon Formula Athlete Hang On Mach in attack mode!" Appearing next to Sonic Meister was another vehicle: this one was a futuristic motorcycle that had a gray and dark blue color scheme, large engine exhausts coming out of the back, and the driver was dressed in a Tron-like outfit with glowing lines on it.
Formula Athlete Hang On Mach: LV 4. Att: 0-1200/Def: 1800
"Then, I play the spell card Formula Athlete Test Run!" A spell card with an image of a race car coming out of a large garage appeared on Kendo's field. "By switching one of my monsters from attack to defense mode, I can destroy one card on your field. The card I choose is Force Strix!" Sonic Meister began to slow down, switching to defense mode. Once it did that, a beam of pure light shot out of the racing monster, striking through Force Strix with enough force to destroy it entirely. "And since I used a Formula Athlete spell card, both Sonic Meister and Hang On Mach gain one level."
Formula Athlete Sonic Meister: LV 5-6. Att: 1500-1800
Formula Athlete Hang On Mach: LV 4-5. Att: 1200-1500
"Hang On Mach, attack Tokoyami directly!" Kendo ordered her second monster, who began to accelerate fast enough to actually appear in front of Tokoyami's screen.
"I activate my facedown, Rank Up Magic Raptor's Force!" He yelled as he flipped his spell card up, allowing the image of the same red symbol that was on his Raidraptors, only it had dark purple energy shooting out of it.
"Rank Ups? I didn't know Raidraptors had those spells." Ochaco couldn't help but say.
"I know, right? So cool!" Mina said next to her friend, curious to see what will happen.
"Because my Force Strix was destroyed this turn, this spell allows me to resummon it back to my field and use it to XYZ summon another Raidraptor monster that's one rank higher! Return, Force Strix!" A dark portal appeared on the field, with Force Strix flying out of it. "With this one monster, I rebuild the Overlay Network!" The network appeared on the field before Force Strix turned into a dark blob of energy, entering it. "The unseen bold falcon. Reveal your wings' unknown power here and now! Rank Up XYZ Evolution!" The extra deck slot on his duel disk opened up as Tokoyami grabbed it and put it on top of Force Strix. "Come forth and spread your wings… Raidraptor-Stranger Falcon!" The Overlay Network exploded in an intense dark light as a new monster emerged from it. The new creature was yet another avian-like machine: this one had yellowish armor with dark skin that had glowing dark red veins, an engine-like back, thin arms, twin cannons on its back and a dark yellow beak with glowing purple eyes.
Raidraptor-Stranger Falcon: Rank 5. Att: 2000/Def: 2000
"Hang On Mach, stop!" Kendo quickly ordered as her monster stopped just a few inches from Stranger Falcon. She couldn't help but be impressed by Tokoyami's quick thinking with that Rank Up spell. Then again, he was always serious and that applied to his dueling style. "I end my turn with two cards facedown."
"Then I draw!" Tokoyami drew his next card before glancing at it, his red eyes widening a bit. "Because I control a dark attribute XYZ monster on my field, I'm allowed to special summon Raidraptor-Strangle Falcon in attack mode!" The shadow under Stranger Falcon suddenly began to move before it separated entirely, creating a new monster. It was a white avian-like machine with large yellow disks that sprouted out its wings, a stringer-like attachment similar to a bee, thrusters shooting out to keep it in the air, and a rather strange head shape.
Raidraptor-Strangle Falcon: LV 4. Att: 1600/Def: 1100
"Because I control a dark XYZ monster, Strangle Falcon's ability will activate! Dark revival!" Tokoyami shouted as Strange Falcon spat on the ground, causing a torrent of black flames to come out. "Return to the field, Tribute Lanius!" Rising from the flames was none other than the level four winged beast from behind. "Like before, when Tribute Lanius is summoned, I can send one other Raidraptor in my deck to the graveyard. I choose Fuzzy Lanius!" A card ejected out of his deck before it was sent to the graveyard. "And because Fuzzy Lanius was sent to the graveyard, I'm allowed to add another Fuzzy Lanius to my hand!" A card ejected out of his deck before he added it to his hand. "I normal summon Raidraptor-Sharp Lanius in attack mode!" Appearing on the field was yet another avian-like machine: this one had red armor with clear colored engines, twin blades under its body and four green orbs that acted like its eyes.
Raidraptor-Sharp Lanius: LV 4. Att: 1700/Def: 1000
Tokoyami suddenly increased the speed of his runner, slowly driving past Kendo. "Raidraptor's Nest activates, allowing me to add a Raidraptor to my hand!" He added one card to his hand before narrowing his eyes. "Now… I build the Circuit!" He declared rather dramatically.
"The Circuit?" Most of the students asked in confusion, though Toshinori and Bruno were smiling a bit.
"I see. So, you have the monsters needed?" Toshinori asked his student rhetorically before he grew to his large size. "THEN GO BEYOND AND SHOW EVERYONE YOUR NEW SUMMON!"
On the screen, a bright light shot out of the front of Tokoyami's runner, flying to the sky before seemingly hitting something. Then, a large blue square with nine arrows on its edges appeared. "The summoning conditions are at least two monsters of the same type, excluding tokens!" He yelled before a sixth card zone appeared on his duel disk, just above the second to the left zone. "I set my Raidraptor-Sharp Lanius, Strangle Lanius, and Tribute Lanius to Link Markers!" The three monsters suddenly turned to yellow energy, flying up to the circuit: one on the top middle, one on the lower right and the last on the lower left. His extra deck slot suddenly opened as a card ejected out of it, prompting Tokoyami to grab it and place it on the sixth monster zone. "I Link summon… Arise, Summon Sorceress!" The Link Circuit began to glow brightly before light shot out of it, landing next to Stranger Falcon.
Emerging from the Circuit was an all new monster: it was a red haired female witch, donning black and purple armor, red eyes, a bent witch hat and a sharp weapon with a spiky edge. The new monster smiled when three arrows came out of a circle around her, pointing at two of Tokoyami's monster zones and one of Kendo's zones.
Summon Sorceress: Link-3. Att: 2400
"A Link?" Kendo said in genuine surprise. Truth be told, she wasn't planning to use Link summoning since it was still new to her and she would much rather win her way.
"It doesn't have any defense points. Is this what all Link monsters are like?" Ochaco said curiously.
"Who cares? Do you SEE that monster he summoned?" Kaminari commented with a somewhat derpy smile at the female monster. He couldn't help it: she was hot!
"Summon Sorceress' ability activates!" Tokoyami declared as his new Link monster before she began to chant a spell. "Now, I can summon one monster from my hand to one arrow pointing to your field!"
"What?" Many of the students were surprised by what Tokoyami just said. Was there a reason he would just give one of his monsters to Kendo?
"Appear, Raidraptor-Heel Eagle!" Finishing her chant, Summon Sorceress pointed her staff at Kendo's monster zone, causing a magic circle to appear. Coming out of the circle was a mechanical eagle with silver armor, purple wings, yellow orbs and red eyes.
Raidraptor-Heel Eagle: LV 3. Att: 700/Def: 700
"Why go through this trouble?" Kendo questioned with a serious tone. However, Tokoyami allowed himself to smirk.
"Because I can now activate Summon Sorceress' other ability." He told her as his Link monster started another chant. "I can target one monster its arrow points to and special summon another one with the same type, though it does lose its abilities. Come forth, Raidraptor-Booster Strix!"
Summon Sorceress then slammed her staff on the racing field, creating a new magic circle. Coming from the magic circle with a bulky blue avian-like machine with large boosters, oval-shaped wings and an orange visor.
Raidraptor-Booster Strix: LV 4. Att: 100/Def: 1700
"I see. He willingly gave Kendo his Heel Eagle in order to summon another Raidraptor monster to the field as a way to strengthen his defense." Todoroki commented out loud with a critical eye.
"Stranger Falcon's ability activates!" Tokoyami said as he looked at his XYZ monster. "By using its only overlay unit, I can destroy one monster on your field and you take damage equal to its original attack points. I target Heel Eagle!" Stranger Falcon absorbed its only overlay unit before two cannon barrels came out of its back, charging yellow energy. Once it was fully charged, Stranger Falcon unleashed two beams of pure white energy towards Heel Eagle. The level three monster screeched as it was struck by the attack, causing it to explode while Kendo's Duel Runner vibrated.
Itsuka Kendo: 8000-7300
"Stranger Falcon, attack Sonic Meister!" Stranger Falcon lowered its head as it began to channel dark energy into its stomach. Once it was ready, Stranger Falcon fired a spiraling beam of dark energy towards Sonic Meister.
"I activate the effect of Wheel Change!" Kendo quickly shouted as her continuous spell began to glow. "Because Sonic Meister is targeted for an attack, I can switch it to attack mode and for this one battle, it can't be destroyed." She then grew a smirk on her face. "Also, since it is a Formula Athlete spell, both Sonic Meister and Hang On Mach gain a level." Sonic Meister suddenly began to increase in speed as it and Hang On Mach began to glow.

Formula Athlete Hang On Mach: LV 5-6. Att: 1500-1800/Def: 1800
Sonic Meister suddenly drove straight towards Stranger Falcon's attack, breaking through it bit by bit. Stranger Falcon could only watch as Sonic Meister broke through its attack and tackled the XYZ monster's chest, causing them both to explode. However, only Sonic Meister emerged unscaved from the attack, with Tokoyami's Duel Runner shaking a bit due to the damage.
Fumikage Tokoyami: 8000-7900
'Impressive. Kendo had that spell in case any of her monsters would be attacked due to their ability to gain levels.' Toshinori thought with a proud nod of his head.
"I was a fool." Tokoyami muttered to himself, hating how he attacked so carelessly. "Because Stranger Falcon was destroyed in battle, its special ability activates. It allows me to choose one Raidraptor XYZ monster in my graveyard in order to revive it, using Stranger Falcon as an overlay unit! Return, Force Strix!" Taking Stranger Falcon's place was the rank four XYZ, who shielded its wings defensively while an overlay unit floats around it.
Raidraptor-Force Strix: Rank 4. Att: 100-600/Def: 2000-2500
"Summon Sorceress, attack Sonic Meister!" Tokoyami yelled as his Link monster prepared to use its weapon to attack.
"I activate my trap, Magic Cylinder!" Kendo yelled as her facedown rose, revealing an image of two cylinders absorbing and reflecting an attack. "This stops your attack and deals damage equal to your Summon Sorceress' attack points!" Two cylinders appeared on the field, ready to take Summon Sorceress' attack.
"Facedown, activate! Dark Bribe!" Tokoyami's facedown card rose, revealing an image of a greedy looking man handing someone money. "This will negate your trap card. The only cost is that you are allowed to draw one card, but that is a small price to pay!"
"Damn." Kendo muttered under her breath as her trap was destroyed, though she did draw a new card regardless. The Link monster fired a beam of pure magic onto Sonic Meister, destroying its engine and causing it to explode.
Itsuka Kendo: 7300-7000
"I end my turn." He finished calmly, satisfied with the outcome.
"One monster each. Impressive. But, what will you do, young Kendo?" Toshinori questioned his student with a serious tone.
"My turn." Kendo took a deep breath, placing her fingers on her deck. She had an idea of what to do, but she needed one monster in order to do it. Opening her eyes, she drew her next card and looked at it… only to smirk. "Perfect." Tokoyami narrowed his eyes at this. "I normal summon Formula Athlete Track Referee in attack mode!" A light shot out of Kendo's field as a new monster appeared next to Hang On Mach. It was a chibi-looking referee with a big hat, two flags(one red and one green) and the initials FA on its back.

"He might not look like it, but Track Referee's one of my best cards. Don't believe me? Then watch this!" Kendo called out as she accelerated her virtual duel runner. Then, much to everyone's shock, she turned the duel runner on screen around so that she was driving backwards, facing Tokoyami's virtual avatar.
"WOAH!" Many of the students actually gasped in shock at her action while the teachers widened their eyes a bit. Driving backwards was such a reckless move in Turbo duels, with even All Might being reluctant to do such an action.
"If I have a Formula Athlete spell on my field and one in my hand, by sending them both to the graveyard, I can special summon two more Formula Athlete monsters from my deck to the field!" Kendo yelled as she took Wheel Change and another spell and sent them both to the graveyard. Then, two cards came out of her deck before she grabbed them and slammed them on her duel disk. "I special summon Formula Athletes Whip Crossover and Turbo Charger!" Two new vehicles appeared on the field: the first was a futuristic blue and yellow motorcycle, with the driver wearing a similar color scheme outfit and a brown mohawk. The second was a large futuristic van with a blue and yellow color scheme and a green glass door that showed the driver inside.

"Because they were summoned with Track Referee, they can't attack this turn. But I won't be attacking with them." Kendo said with a rather confident smirk. "You built the Circuit, so it's only fair I do the same."
"Another Link summon, eh?" Bruno said, his smile growing a little. Like with Tokoyami, the Circuit appeared in the sky, with the Extra Monster Zone appearing on Kendo's duel disk.
"The summoning conditions are two effect monsters. I set Formula Athletes Whip Crosser and Turbo Charger in the Link Markers!" Both of Kendo's monsters turned to yellow energy, flying into the top and bottom arrows, causing them to glow. Kendo's extra deck slot opened up, allowing a glowing card to come out of it. She then grabbed it and placed it on the Extra Monster Zone. "I Link summon… Underclock Taker!" The Circuit exploded in a bright light as something flew down to Kendo's Extra Monster Zone. It was a rather odd looking monster: it looked like a vase with a purple color scheme, glowing blue symbols. An orange top, as well as a green disk with a white outline and two floating needles next to it. Two Link Markers glowed on it, one on its left side and one behind it.

"I admit your new monster is rather impressive, but it won't be enough to stop my Summon Sorceress." Tokoyami told Kendo, who didn't lose her smile.
"True, but I never said I was done." Kendo said confidently as she looked at her Formula Athlete monsters. "You might not know this, but Track Referee is also a tuner monster, so I'm tuning it with Hang On Mach!" The level one month frantically waved its flags before turning into one green ring that surrounded Hang On Mach, which turned into six white stars. Kendo closed her eyes as she began to chant. "The beautiful rose dragon shall arise as the moon sets, its scales will illuminate the battlefield."
"Come to think of it, I've never seen Kendo duel before." Izuku openly admitted. It wasn't completely untrue as he had seen a bit of her past battles, such as the one yesterday. Still, he didn't think she was such a passionate duelist, especially with a runner.
"Yes. Though, I admit the way she's dueling is rather impressive, if not a little reckless." Tenya added, his blue eyes focused on everything.
"Now, I Synchro summon…" The extra deck slot opened as Kendo took out one card and placed it on the monster zone Underclock Taker pointed to. "Black Rose Moonlight Dragon!" For some odd reason, Kendo's duel disk began to glow a bit due to her new summon.
*RRRRROOOOOAAAAARRRR*
Surprisingly, everyone was able to hear the roar of Kendo's new best from the monitor, even when the simulation was meant for practice. A large shadow began to form on the zone Underclock Taker pointed to, its eyes glowing red. Slowly, its figure became visible to everyone and needless to say, they were impressed, if not a little scared. Like the name suggested, it was a massive dragon with red petals as its scales, dark skin, a long neck, sharp talons, sharp vines coming out of it, and purple eyes.

"Wow…" The girls couldn't help but be at awe with the dragon. Even on screen, it looked rather beautiful, like a literal rose. Even some of the guys were impressed with the dragon, especially its strength.
"Normally, I would be able to use Black Rose Dragon's special ability on your monster, but because Track Referee was used to Synchro summon a non Formula Athlete, its effects are negated." Kendo explained, though she didn't sound any less confidence. "But that's where Underclock Taker comes in. Reverse Clock!" A clock appeared in front of both Black Rose Moonlight Dragon and Summon Sorceress, much to everyone's confusion.
"What is this?" Tokoyami questioned in a serious tone.
"This is Underclock Taker's ability." Kendo started explaining, her smirking growing. "If there's a monster that's in a zone it points to, I can target both it and a monster on your field. Your monster loses attack points equal to my dragon's attack points!"
"NO!" Gasping in horror, Tokoyami watched as Summon Sorceress lowered her head, feeling her energy being drained.
Summon Sorceress: Att: 2400-0
'She utilized the Link Marker ability like Tokoyami. These two were the perfect choices for this test.' Toshinori thought proudly.
"Underlock Taker, attack Summon Sorceress!" Kendo ordered as her monster aimed its needles at Tokoyami's Link monster, firing two beams of energy at it. Summon Sorceress screamed in pain before she was fully destroyed.
Fumikage Tokoyami: 7900-6900
"Now, attack him directly, Black Rose!" Kendo declared as her dragon roared loudly.
*RUMBLE*
However, much to her surprise, her runner suddenly began to shake a bit. "Uhhhhh, is this supposed to happen?" Kendo questioned in confusion.
"That's odd. It shouldn't be shaking unless you take damage." Bruno stated, looking at the runner.
"ERROR. ERROR." To make things even stranger, an ERROR indicator appeared on her screen, flashing red. "ERROR. ERR-"
*CRACKLE*
Kendo let out a yelp as the console suddenly began shooting out sparks.
"OUT! OUT!" Thinking quickly, Bruno and Toshinori quickly rushed over to Itsuka, helping her out of the runner while taking her duel disk away. Then, smoke began to come out of said duel runner as more sparks came out of it. Bruno quickly grabbed a fire extinguisher nearby and fired foam on it, stopping the remaining sparks from coming out.
"Are you alright, Kendo?" Toshinori asked his student with heavy concern.
"Y-Yeah. Just a little rattled." Kendo confessed, looking at her slightly shaky hand. As strong as she was, something like that startled her.
"Bruno, what happened?" Toshinori questioned in a serious tone as Bruno started looking over the machine, letting out a sigh.
"Honestly, I have no clue. I thought we got all the kinks figured out." Bruno confessed while rubbing the back of his head. He and his students made sure to set everything exactly like the instructions said, yet it spasmed out.
"Mister Toshinori, does this mean the duel is cancelled?" Tokoyami asked as he took his duel disk and deck back.
"Unfortunately, yes." Toshinori sighed tiredly before he regained his composure. "But, at least we now know how Link summons factor in a duel. I hope all of you were paying close attention because your next duels will focus on Link summoning."
"Yes sir." Came a unanimous reply from the class as they began exiting the workshop, leaving Bruno to fix on the prototype duel runner.
"Huh." Izuku stopped in his tracks as he reached into his deck box, having noticed something was glowing inside it. Opening the box, he looked at his deck and noticed a particular card.
It was his Stardust Spark Dragon.
'That's odd. Why's it glowing? It never did that before.' Izuku thought to himself while looking at his favorite monster. Never did it glow before, especially since it wasn't even on a duel disk. However, before he could think about it any further, the card stopped glowing all together. "Okay, what?"
"MIDORIYA!" Izuku jumped as he heard Tenya's voice call out to him.
"C-Coming!" Putting his card back in his deck, the green haired teen ran after his class.
'Unknown location'
The one word that could describe the room was 'Dark.'
Although there were several lights that illuminated the room, everything about it screamed ominous.
There was one person in said room, typing on their laptop. However, half of their face was covered in the darkness, with only their lower jaw being visible.
They had quite a lot to work on and little time to accomplish this. However, things needed to be finished and they had a lot of free time.
However, something caught their eye, and it wasn't their laptop.
Rather, it was the mural that was on their wall. Though the darkness hid most of what was on said mural, there were two images that were glowing slightly. One was of a white dragon while the other was a red dragon, both roaring at a large creature.
This one image made the person smile as they closed their laptop.
"Interesting."

Ominous, am I right? Yeah, I didn't think so either, but I thought this would be a good way to end the chapter.
Yeah, I will admit that this chapter might not be the best chapter, especially since it focuses on a duel between one of my favorite MHA girls and one of my favorite boys, but I always wanted to introduce Links. As some of you may know, I was not the biggest fan of Links in the beginning, but now that I have played some of them, I got a newfound respect for them. So, do expect more Link focused decks in this story.
And I will say this: the next chapter is the start of one of the many tournament arcs for Yugioh 5ds Heroes. I actually have a lot of ideas for it, but let me know who you want to face off in this tournament.
Follow, Fav, Review and PM. And just for fun, tell me what your favorite decks to play are.
Next time: And so it begins.
