Oh, and none of the chapters is properly proofread. Peace. Hahaha!
Anyway, go on.
Chapter Thirty
Tsuna looked around the place he is. He can hear Katsuki's screaming somewhere in the rooms since the moment the blond saw him being escorted by the villains. He was put inside the bar, where Black Mist is behind the counter while Shigaraki is by the counter. Some of the villains who attacked them are there too. But the very prominent thing he noticed is the open TV with white screen.
Relaxing on his chair, the brunet wondered why the hell was he called out when he isn't the one they need. Reborn had been protesting silently when they put a rope around his body and escorted him out. He smiled reassuringly to the hitman and teased him not to miss him too much. The way Reborn's tensed shoulders relaxed made him smile genuinely. For someone who only met him for two nights and three days, the hitman had became a little protective. Or not. He can't really trust the Reborn here. They don't know each other. Although backstabbing is not one of the hitman's principle. In Reborn's words, it's low.
Anyway, his intuition didn't alert him of anything when they started to chain him. So he kept quiet and just observed. The only thing that his alien is alerting him is the same vibration when help is on the way. At what time, he doesn't know.
"Tsuna!"
He closed his eyes in frustration before opening his mouth while looking at his left where he can hear the blond. "For God's sake, I'm safe, Katsuki!"
"It doesn't mean they can't hurt you, Bastard!"
"Have you forgotten who are you talking to?!" He shouted back. There was no reply. "Thank you!"
"Fucking die!"
"Not here!" He panted, wrinkling his face. "That kid. Seriously."
"You are rather close." Tsuna's head snapped to Shigaraki who pointed that out. "I've researched a lot about you, Tsunayoshi Sawada."
Caramel eyes flickered around the faces watching them before they returned to the 'ringleader' of Villain Alliance.
"At age four, your family were attacked by a villain. The event resulted to your parents' comatose state. Then you got adopted by Eraserhead. It makes me wonder, why didn't Eraserhead give you to your living relatives in Nagano?"
Tsuna kept himself mum.
"The only time Japan was able to see who is the vigilante hero who helped a lot of people without getting credits was when you were already in UA. When you were fighting for your 'honour' as the first year representative of your batch. With Eraserhead crediting as the parent who raised the young aspiring hero. In general, they gave all the credits to Eraserhead."
"Huh. I thought Eraserhead is a fine teacher." The ninja turtle commented. "I guess Stain's teaching is right. The heroes now are too hungry for fame and money."
Tsuna chuckled, taking them by surprise. "Is that all you've got about my father figure? Please. Try better. And God. If it's about Stain, I know his ideology already. We've debated it a lot of times since I met him." He looked at the ninja turtle. "You like Stain too? Good to know. But really, if you want to criticize heroes, don't do it to me. I'm not a hero yet. I'm a vigilante. Read the context."
"Your father is a hero. What makes you different?"
"My Dad is an underground hero, a registered vigilante hero, who hates the media, which is the reason why we kept my existence in his life as a secret. It's not his idea, it was mine. Now, there's a fine line between heroes who enjoy the fame and those who want to do their jobs." He smirked. "Keep your facts straight, before I slap you some."
"You keep your facts straight." Ninja turtle snapped. "Underground heroes and heroes are the same."
"Oho? Please give me justification, other than claiming it is what Stain-san had said. Because clearly," He quirked an eyebrow to make the other more agitated. "you don't have any evidences. Well, not like you would give it to me. After all, you're not someone who abides to the law."
"This isn't about that, Tsunayoshi Sawada." Black Mist tried to explain.
"Then enlighten me. Entertain me by not beating around the bush." He scanned the crowd with sarcastic glee before staring intently at Shigaraki. "Because from what I experienced, this isn't your usual cup of tea, Tomura-san."
Silence.
"Join the Villain Alliance." Shigaraki stated, eyes on him. "With us, you have much more freedom you can use. We only want to destroy the heroes. We want to change the society. We want them to know what justice is really are. The society is being driven by the heroes' twisted ideology that we are the wrong. That we are the ones crushing the peace.
"All we want to do is kill All Might. The Symbol of Peace. The one who have established this hypocrite stereotype about us. Heroes are not heroes anymore. And knowing your adamant refusal to be called one is just begging us to gain you as our member."
"What makes you think I'll join you?" He queried. "I want freedom to help people, that includes heroes and villains alike. I'm a vigilante, not a villain nor a hero. If I help people under your wing, it will destroy your image. In addition, I haven't forgiven you yet when you attacked Yuuei and tried to kill my Dad. If I didn't arrive sooner, he must've had his eyes damaged with what your Noumu was about to do."
"This is a lost case." The guy with long hair, Tsuna dubbed as Shades, stated. "You can't convince a guy like him."
"Maybe I can." Caramel eyes turned to the TV where the voice came out.
"Sensei." Shigaraki uttered.
"I know your type, Tsunayoshi Sawada. You're one of those who believes in justice. Isn't that the reason why you are a vigilante, right?"
Tsuna's eyes widened.
"We can help you achieve that justice, Sawada. We know what that word means. What it implies. Your freedom is with us. Your power can help us achieve that goal. To put this society in the right place." The man in the other side of the screen coaxed. "Let me introduce myself. I am All for One, Shigaraki Tomura's sensei."
"Nice to meet you." The brunet greeted politely. "May I ask something?"
"Go on."
"How many people have you killed?"
All of the people inside the room stared at him.
"I bet it runs to hundreds. Millions even." Tsuna hummed when the man didn't answer. "Should I ask how many people have you swayed with your words? Manipulate even? Let's not keep secrets here, All for One-san. We all know we aren't innocents here."
A second of silence before the voice answered. "A lot. Uncountable."
"Is this the reason why you took in Reborn and Katsuki?" He queried again. "To offer them a place in your group?"
"Yes."
Tsuna chuckled as he thought of how good he was in that profession. Killing? Manipulation? Those things they've used on him awhile ago? God. Those were the things he used for five grueling years to change the Vongola and the mafia. It took him Reborn's and Mukuro's help to forget every single memory of him being ruthless to those who betrayed their family, those who tried to kill them, even attack them blatantly.
Being Vongola Decimo has its quirks, but mostly were negative. All for the promise he vowed to Primo. For the family and famiglia. For his guardians who left their civilian lives just for his sake. Those children who were victims of the mafia. For Mukuro, Chikuza and Ken. For Reborn who never had his own family. For the Arcobaleno. And for himself who was dragged to that life without his consent.
Maybe his rage years ago were the result. His ruthlessness was Reborn's small mercy for his dawdling mental health, that even Mukuro couldn't comment on. Too much death. Too much blood. He's not innocent anymore. He killed millions. For five years, Italy was in fire because of him. Because of them. And never had he felt remorse in those times.
He is the demon incarnate of chaos.
"Let's get things straight." He snickered before taking a deep breath and looking at them. "I don't just have my fine share of kills. I've got millions of death in my hands, unwashed. It's the reason why I've been asking the same thing again and again. Why the heck am I gonna join you as a villain? When I've already been one that was worth of a lifetime? You tried manipulating me with your words. Pointless. I can make you kill yourselves right here if I want."
"What are you blabbering-"
Tsuna glared right in ninja turtle's eyes with his own orange ones. "Point a blade to your neck."
They watched as ninja turtle's eyes went in daze. Slowly, the villain took a blade from his back and pointed it to his neck. The others stared at their comrade then at him.
"You think you can outmatch me?" The brunet questioned calmly, posture relaxing. "You're only a speck of my dirt, All for One-san." Then the chains wrapped around the brunet fell from the chair he was being held and the legs were crossed elegantly. "But I'm warning you."
Some of them stepped back as he surveyed them. Good. Fear him.
"Get a scrape on Katsuki and my hitman, and I won't hesitate killing all of you. Not even you can stop me when I hunt you all down to the end of the world." Then in a sec, orange turned caramel and the warmth came back as the smile went sweet again. "And I honestly don't want to do that. That's against my moral code."
He eyed Dabi who cursed, while the others completely took a step back.
The brunet chuckled while sitting back. "As they said it, never touch the family or you'll face the Vongola Decimo."
Silence.
"Either ways." He stood up and walked for the room he was confined with Reborn. "Good luck with Katsuki. And you can take the blade down, Villain-san."
Tsuna gave them a parting smile before he entered the room himself. Reborn's shoulders relaxed visibly as he closed the door. The kind of vindictive feeling in his gut churn in pleasure to what he did to them. Really. They should know who to mess with, and who shouldn't be. They're too reckless. Villains are too reckless.
Shaking his head, he went for his spot again. He was already sitting on the ground when his intuition tapped him. The brunet hummed as he listened to Katsuki shout crude words to those who are hauling him out of his confinements.
"They tried to convince you too." The hitman stated. He's clearly amused. "Foolish, aren't they? All they know is how to conquer the world with their quirks. Unlike us, who can control it with just a simple gunshot."
"Indeed." He can't help agreeing. "But I think things have to move."
The man tittered humorlessly. "With my arms like this? I can't go anywhere."
Tsuna clenched his hands before looking at Reborn who was staring at him intently.
"What are you planning to do now?" The hitman asked.
"Look around then get us out of here." The brunet asnwered plainly.
"Us? You plan to get me out of here with you?"
"Yes. It's either I get us out of here or the heroes will."
Reborn huffed. "Stupid."
Tsuna joked. "After that, I'm gonna invite you to my home."
"You're inviting a killer to your house."
"Yes. It's either that or I'll invite myself to yours." Tsuna stood up and crossed the room to get the hitman. "Before that, we need to get your hat and Leon. And your guns."
"My hat, Leon and my guns..."
"Yes."
Onyx eyes stared at him intently. "Just who are you? How come you know me?"
Tsuna took out a paperclip from his pocket and started to pick lock the arm cuffs on the hitman. "Let's just say I'm your student in a different world and I owe every single thing I achieved there to you."
Reborn stared at him before chuckling. "I like you, Kid."
"Of course you would. I am your adoptive son, after all." He winked as the cuffs opened.
Shouta took a deep breath. God. The guy is gritting on his nerves. Standing up straight, he thought of his adorable, reckless son.
'Think of Tsuna, Shouta.' He told himself. 'Think of Tsuna.'
The moment Todoroki came up to him with a grave look, without Bakugou and Tsuna with them, he just knew. He had known that when it comes to his intuition, Tsuna won't hesitate following it to the end of the world. As long as it alerts him things, be it dangerous or not, Tsuna will do the decisions after. Although he's worried, he couldn't just help sighing in relief at the same time. When Tsuna is part of something, the situation won't go awry.
After all the debacle that happened that night, they did the Math. There are thirteen students who got injured, most of the students have been poisoned by that gas in the forest, and two students were taken away. The things that were good were the fact that they captured three villains, all beaten up by the students, and Pixie-bob was out of danger because of Tsuna's precise first aid treatment. And Ragdoll had voiced about what his son had told her, that she had to be protected because there's a possibility that being captured will resort to her quirk vanishing.
When the teachers of Yuuei, who have interacted nicely with Tsuna, voiced their concern, it wasn't him who had told them not to worry. It was Hizashi who told them that the brunet will be fine, and will keep Bakugou safe until help arrives. Even All Might said the same thing, trusting his son to be well and protect his classmate. Even Nezu said the same thing.
Right now, while they're doing this blasted conference, the other pro-heroes have assembled to attack the Villain Alliance and save the two kids. He should be there, giving his assistance and saving his son. But no. He has to be there, bowing his head to the mass for his incompetence and justifying the strength of his student. Besides, as far as what Tsuna had said, as long as Midoriya is in the heroics, Bakugou will not turn for the villains. That kid is too prideful to be give up his dream of surpassing All Might. He's thankful that Tiger represented him. The Pussycat's gratitude to what his son has done to his comrades cannot be topped any time soon.
"Then regarding the vigilante hero, Tsunayoshi Sawada." Said the reporter.
Shouta and the other two perked up at the name.
"We were informed that he was also taken by the villains, trying to save Bakugou. Was this because of your decision, Eraserhead-san?"
"Sawada has been helping everyone since he sensed that something was wrong." He said in a formal tone as he straightened himself up. "He was not under my order even if he is my student. Given the nature of his job, he took it upon himself to minimize the casualties."
"Then what makes you so sure that he won't join the villains? He is known as a vigilante, unregistered, hero. He also has a relationship with Hero Killer Stain and healed him after the incident in Tokyo. In our source, he is also the only one who is permitted to visit the rogue vigilante. From this angle, looks like he has more reason to be a villain, instead of Bakugou." The reported enunciated.
Shouta gritted his teeth as his hands clenched. The last part should've been a top secret! How in hell did they-
'Make those people who will criticize you eat some dirt of their own, Dad. I'll back you up.' Tsuna's words rang in his mind, making him relax.
"As you can see, Sawada drew a fine line among the classification of vigilante, hero and villain." He started off, scanning the crowd as he remembers all the things Tsuna had said in their class and in the meeting after the USJ attack. "According to him, heroes save the world and do not help the villains. The villains crave for just society and do not help the heroes. The vigilantes, however, can be heroes and villains, depending on what their morals in life."
"You are saying that Sawada is in between." The reported clarified.
"He is. He stated it himself." Nezu answered.
"It is his chosen job because he cannot, will not and shall never discriminate who to help and who to save. While we, heroes, subdue the villains, he will be the support who will guide the people to safety. While villains attack, he will be there to see if he can help both sides to not get killed." He squared his shoulders. "Sawada is like Bakugou in a way. They cannot be swayed by mere words. As I've said, if the villains perceived Sawada's viewpoint as a weakness to use as a leverage to get him on their side, then they are wrong."
Shouta sat down after and let Nezu do all the talking. It didn't take long for everything to be done. They went for the lounge room after and tried to relax there. But he just couldn't. He started to wait for a call or a message that Bakugou and Tsuna were retrieved. Or at least one of them.
Grasping his free hair, Shouta went for the coffee machine to try and ease his worry, only frown at his chosen drink. Tsuna will scold him if he began to palpitate, especially that he didn't sleep that well two nights in a row. So he went for the fridge to get some milk. He was going sit again when his attention was taken by the TV where there's a live coverage of All Might's battle against the original 'leader' of the Villain Alliance. Once again, Tsuna had been right about his assumption that Shigaraki Tomura isn't the original leader.
His eyes widened when suddenly, the villain shot a powerful beam to All Might's direction. Then he saw it. A wall of orange flames deflecting the shot. And behind it, is his son who looks murderous.
"And the vigilante hero saves the day." Nezu uttered as they watch Tsuna turn back to All Might who nodded, still in his form. "Let's be thankful that All Might can retain his form even when he has a limit. All thanks to Decimo."
"What did he do this time?" He questioned, fondly exasperated.
"Heal the Symbol of Peace." Their principal said with an awed smile.
"Hello! Pizza delivery!"
All of them looked back to the door behind him. And before he knew it, he got pulled by his right, just out of the rubbles that could've hit him. He turned to see worried yet relieved caramel eyes staring at him. He felt his inside go to goo, heart calming in the presence of the only person who had forced his way to keep him protected.
He should be pissed, right? Cause Tsuna and Deku are the same. They worry for others when they should be worrying about themselves. But why is it that he can tolerate the brunet, while he can't even accept the greenet? Both will go on out just to save him. They tolerate him too. And never ever leave him alone. Even when Tsuna isn't talking to him, or they had been having a hard time seeing each other the same, he will always care for him.
So why does he keep on saying he doesn't belong when he fits just right in?
"Are you okay? I could hear your laugh inside." The brunet whispered.
"I'm fine." He answered in the same voice.
"You two," Both looked at All Might who was looking at them with a proud expression. "It must have been scary. You did well to endure. I'm sorry, Tsuna, Young Bakugou. But it's okay now!"
Bakugou felt his heart flatter before he mentally shook his head. "I'm- I'm not scared! I'm perfectly calm, dammit!"
He glared at Tsuna who chuckled. "I'll erase what I saw in my memory, Katsuki."
He blushed.
But when he thought everything is over, something black went out of his mouth. It tasted like shit. He heard Tsuna cry of his name. When red met caramel, his heart hammered. Horror, desperation and regret filled those eyes, before they became orange and determination replaced them.
"Everything will be alright, Katsuki!" Tsuna's orotund voice shouted before he got engulfed by that black thing.
"But I'm not really worried." All of them looked at Todoroki who said those. "Mineta said something that we should keep in mind."
"What did he say?" Izuku questioned, curious of what their resident incarnation of lust had said that isn't about girls.
"He said Tsuna is there." Mismatched eyes surveyed them. "He said, Tsuna will never let them touch a hair of Bakugou with how protective he is of us."
"P-Protective?" Yaoyorozu stuttered in shock.
"We haven't been in any situation that he hadn't responded to." Todoroki explained. "It's probably some kind of ability of his that can detect if there is danger or not. We saw it, right? Everytime his head aches, even a single grimace, there's something happening."
Green eyes glazed as his mind worked.
"He won't say it that night because he doesn't want us to panic. He had been tense since he walked out on us in the bathroom and in the dinner. Remember, he was the first one to respond. He got Ragdoll before Mandalay can even say that there are villains intruding."
"True." Izuku nodded. "He said the same thing after we fought Stain. He said he felt something was happening so he took flight, even before he got my captionless message. Then the same thing when he stirred away Shigaraki from me. It's not impossible."
"Then maybe even before we get there, he'll keep Bakugou safe." Iida finalized.
"Tsuna won't let us down!" Kirishima nodded.
Izuku prayed he will. Tsuna was the only one who could reach Kacchan that time. He flew to the risk. Even stopped the blond from saying something.
'Stay ba-' Izuku's brows furrowed. What does that even mean? Stay back? Maybe he doesn't want Izuku to save him? The greenet mentally sighed. Once again, Tsuna saved themselves from being hurt emotionally. He's so grateful for the brunet that he wants to repay him.
But how?
