Chapter Thirty-One
"Shit." Tsuna cursed as his head alerted him. He took Katsuki's arm who's shoulder is clamped by All Might's big hand. "We need to go."
"Ha?" The two blurted, snapped out of their daze from watching Shigaraki hysterical blabbering.
"Something is coming! We need to go!" He shouted.
Just as he finished saying those, warps manifested behind Shigaraki and two Noumus appeared. He was about to respond when he felt Katsuki slipped from his grip. He looked back, only to see the blond getting absorbed by this black thing that keeps coming out of the teen's mouth. He couldn't do anything without his gloves as the same thing happened to the other Villain Alliance members.
He felt himself go back to that time his guardians and the Simon family were getting absorbed by the Vindice portal. He couldn't do anything. He couldn't react. All he could do is watch as they go. Just like when the Kokuyou Gang were being taken too. Because it was a rule. A pact made by Giotto de Vongola and Cozart Simon. It was the Vindice's rules.
But this is different.
Tsuna's resolved formed as he thought of things. If he can't stop it from absorbing Katsuki, then it must be transporting him somewhere, since according to Edge Shot, it's not Black Mist, Kurogiri as what he heard, who's doing it. But still, it must be near. The rendezvous of that portal. So he smiled reassuringly to the blond who is staring at him with wide eyes.
"Everything will be alright, Katsuki!" He said as All Might tried to get the blond.
"No!" The hero shouted in despair.
"It's fine!" Tsuna shouted as he readied himself with the Noumus' attack. "There's always an endpoint for that kind of portal!"
The Symbol of Peace didn't bother going for Shigaraki and tried to stop the Noumus who attacked him. Tsuna used his bare hands to wrestle with the Noumu who attacked him. With his enhanced strength, he punched it on the face before taking the hand, twisted it and put a foot on the head. With a sharp exhale, he let his foot crack the brain, causing it to die.
He quickly ran for All Might and made a somersault in the air as he took one of the Noumu on the hero, which was on the shoulder and threw it on the counter, just for the head to crack on the sharp edge. He huffed as he landed on his feet. He looked back to All Might who did an Oklahoma smash on the Noumus surrounding him.
"Any pain on the stomach?" He questioned, worried of the man.
"No. Not a single cough of blood. He'll be in for a surprise." The hero gritted, eyes glinting.
His intuition knocked on him, making him frown. "You won't last."
Blue-green eyes glanced at him. "I know."
"Alright then." He decided, eyes sharp as they look around. "I'll try my best to be your support after I take every civilians out of the way."
"Thank you, Tsuna." All Might expressed before looking over to the people below.
"Tsuna." He looked back to see Reborn crossing the room.
"Reborn? I thought I told you to escape?" He asked as he met the hitman halfway.
Before he came for Katsuki, just as the heroes busted in, he instructed Reborn specifically and told him to visit to his home after all the fiasco. He told him to search for his fedora, guns and Leon, then run for it, while he responds to the situation. He also provided the address of his home, hoping his Dad won't have a heart attack when the hitman suddenly appeared. He can't just let go of him now, can he?
Seeing the fedora on its usual place is a relief though. He didn't see glimpse of Leon, but his intuition had told him that the lizard is there. The guns are already in place seeing the budge on both sides, on the right ankle and probably at the back too. But knowing the hitman, he knows he has his own void of infinite stash of weaponry.
"The police are here." He informed, glancing outside.
"It's fine." The man dismissed and took out something from his back pocket. Caramel eyes stared at the familiar mittens with twenty-seven on it. "I think this is yours."
"Leon?" He asked and stared at the chameleon who let himself known on his perch from the hitman's shoulder. He reached out and rubbed the head of the lizard with a small appreciative smile. "Thank you. You're always a lifesaver." He glanced at those onyx eyes. "Both of you."
"Here." Reborn put the mittens on his right hand. "Show me what it looks."
"Do you know Vongola Primo? Giotto de Vongola." He asked as he put them on. "He was known to fight hand to hand with his own gloves." He lit his sky flames manifest on his forehead and his mittens transformed to familiar silver gloves with silver plate designed as X at the back of his hand. "I have his style. But in a sense, I'm more powerful than him. He said so himself."
"Transforming mittens with your own signature." Reborn hummed with a smirk. "Interesting."
"Go." Tsuna nodded before he turned away and ran for the hole. "I'll meet you again, right?"
"You will. Chaos, Decimo."
The brunet looked back and smiled. "I'm going."
Just when Endeavor was able to make a Noumu step back, just to his landing spot, he jumped. He didn't care if he killed the Noumu after snapping its neck with one foot on the nape and on the back, before running to Naomasa who had stopped shooting off his guns when he saw him. He didn't notice the police officers wincing at how brutal he killed the Noumu. They're not human anymore. And they almost killed the ones he protects. There's always an exception.
The brunet looked up just as All Might and Gran Torino flew off. He should probably get going too.
"Tsuna!" The officer called, relieved to see him.
"I'm helping them." He stated before moving to catch a Noumu's wrist before it can reach his uncle and twisted it to break then yanked it close. He took its head and smashed the head on the ground, earning blood. "What's the situation first?"
"The other group who checked out the other hideout is not responding. We think the very boss is there."
Tsuna clicked his tongue. "I'm going. Can you fare without seeing me for another night?"
"You're not someone that can be taken down easily, Tsuna. So rest assured, I can do so." Naomasa smiled. "Be a vigilante to your fullest."
He nodded. "Thank you, Uncle Naomasa." He was about step back a little when he remembered something. "Wait."
"What is it?"
He blinked his eyes to the man. "I'm home."
The police officer stared at him before chuckling. "Welcome home. Now go. People need you."
Tsuna ran backwards for a little then propelled himself to the sky after. He didn't dare look back because he knows Endeavor will not put anyone in danger as long as he's around. He inhaled the cool air. He missed this, flying without any care if his gloves get destroyed again. His previous mittens, made by Leon, lasted for twenty years, withstood all the firing he did with all of his techniques and all the hardship he experienced. It was one of the things he couldn't let go because it was the first gift Leon gave to him. It took Reborn's scolding for him to accept the new gloves, fingerless that time.
Shaking his head to focus on his task, he followed his intuition. He was able to catch up to Gran Torino, who was hopping from building to building. All Might clearly gone ahead since he was nowhere in sight. Lowering himself, he caught the old timer on his back and flew faster. Not that heavy. It's the same as Reborn's weight when he was still an Arcobaleno.
Tsuna tutted as his head tweaked. There's no time. His intuition is making him hurry again.
"Boy-"
"I know All Might-san already arrived there! I'm worried for Katsuki Bakugou!" He shouted in the air. "He'll need all the help he could get to get away from them! They'll force him to join them! So it won't be a surprise if they'll take him again by force! I want to help, but the civilians need me more! This is the least I could do!"
"Fine! Can you fly faster?!" The old man demanded.
Tsuna's eyes glowed as he closed his hands and opened them again just as burst of flames went out of his hands. His flight went faster. "Is this satisfying?!"
"Fair enough!"
It didn't take them long enough to get to the site. Tsuna dropped Gran Torino just above Katsuki's battle field. It was as if he was just passing by to drop a parsel. He didn't bother checking the situation too. His intuition started to alert him of which place needs helping the most. It means they could handle things there.
He went to work, going from one building to another. He ushered people to go out of their hidings and to the streets. Some brave souls offered their assistance to help him with the evacuation in the inner tunnels. They gathered people away from the fighting site. Tsuna appreciated the gesture and called them out to be careful.
It didn't even take long for them to evacuate everyone with the help of some pros. He was about to go for the fighting site's way when he saw a familiar face who was crying.
"Ryohei?!" He called as he dodged the people going for his opposite. "What happened?!"
"Kyoko!" The white head cried, sobbing. "I-I can't find my sister! She was by the building. I was going there but the villains appeared!"
Tsuna's breath hitched. He took the teen's hand and caressed it to soothe. "Which building?"
"N-Near the main site." Ryohei hiccuped.
"I'll get her." He promised. "Orange-brown hair and brown eyes, right? I'll find her. Can you-"
"Tsuna?!" He looked up to see Shouto and Yaoyorozu walking towards him. It was Shouto who called him. "Why are you here?!"
"Assisting the pros." He answered before looking at Ryohei. "Can you take care of him? I'm going to get his sister from the main site."
"What?!" Shouto boggled.
"You can't, Tsuna!" Yaoyorozu denied vehemently. "You can't go back in there! It's dangerous! All Might is fighting against that powerful villain! You'll get in the way!"
"Yaoyorozu," He said in a calm voice. "this is my unofficial job. And I made a promise to All Might that I'll assist him and I'll find Kyoko. I'll promise you two that I'll be careful. You know my rule, never engage an enemy unless necessary."
Shouto and Yaoyorozu looked at each other before Shouto sighed. "Fine. Not a single scratch. Really. You're the only exemption to the rule."
"I'm a vigilante." He patted Ryohei's head. "Believe in me."
The white head nodded enthusiastically. "I will extremely believe in you!"
Tsuna beamed before he activated his flames, took some steps back and flew off. He was in the middle of a flight when he felt his intuition kick him. Warning alerts blared in his mind, and the very thing he can think of is All Might. So he made his move to get faster.
He just came in time, when Gran Torino went out of the way. Tsuna was about to say the same thing to All Might when he saw a familiar person. His eyes widened at the sight of Kyoko crawling out of the rock with another woman, just from the rubble of fallen buildings behind All Might. Just as the hero didn't move and ready to receive the powerful blast, Tsuna swept down and created a sky flames barrier between them and the blast.
"Tsuna!" All Might gasped, turning to his thin, but acceptable body.
The brunet gritted his teeth in anger. "That motherfucker. He saw them but he still attacked."
"What are you doing here?" The hero asked, baffled.
"Offering my assistence." He replied as he retracted his flames and stood firm in front of All Might. "That was fucking low of you, All for One."
The inhumane man laughed maniacally. "Why are you standing there, Tsunayoshi Sawada? Hiding the true form of the Symbol of Peace?"
"He knows?" He queried to the man behind him.
"He was the one who gave me the injury." The hero answered.
Tsuna smirked as he sidestepped for All for One to see All Might's new form. "Too bad. He didn't add me to the variable."
"What?!" All for One shouted in shock.
"The injury you gave me five years ago had been healed." All Might stated, glancing to the brunet who looks murderous. "Regardless of my form, even if the whole world see me like this, my spirit remains." He clenched his fist, staring intently at his archenemy. "I am still the Symbol of Peace! And there is nothing you can do to take that fragment away from me!"
"Magnificent!" All for One suddenly cheered, recovered from the shock he got awhile ago. "You got me. I forgot how much of a stubborn little child you were. In that case, I hope this does not hinder that spirit of yours." The man point a finger to the hero, as if excited. "I've got something to tell you. Shigaraki Tomura is Nana Shimura's grandchild."
Tsuna frowned as he noticed All Might's frozen state.
"All this time, I've been thinking how much that fact will disturb you." All for One stated. "I created an opportunity for you and Tomura to meet. And you beat him into submission, didn't you? Without knowing a thing, all the while shining that triumphant smile of yours."
"You're lying..." All Might uttered, almost pleading. His smile is no longer there.
"It's the truth." The other said, as if he was an honest man. "You understand, don't you? This is the kind of thing I would do." Then he raised his hands. "Huh. That's weird, All Might." He mocked. "What happened to that smile of yours?"
"Y-You scum!" All Might shouted.
"Just as I thought! How fun! I'd say I got a bit more than a fragment of your spirit there!" The man cheered.
Seeing the distress, Tsuna dosed the whole area of sky flames. "Don't lose yourself to the psychological warfare he's putting you in to, All Might-san." He stated as he glanced at the lady and Kyoko who are almost out of the rubble. "Don't forget, when you beat Shigaraki Tomura into submission," He glared at the man. "I was there and playing with him too, smiling like a kid I was."
"T-Tsuna." The hero uttered, in shock.
"Don't lose!" The lady at the back shouted. "All Might!"
"I will not stick my nose." He stated as he put a hand on the man's shoulder. He let sky flames harmonize with All Might's quirk, making it stronger. "But he almost harmed you, a civilian and a family of mine. Don't you think he deserves some beating for doing that? I'll take care of them. Focus on him. Your victory is our victory, All Might-san. Show him what the Symbol of Peace can do when he has someone to protect."
"Thank you."
He shot a glare to the man who is watching their interaction. "If you were smart enough,"
All Might transformed back to his muscled form.
"you could've attacked us while we were talking." He ended as the hero darted.
Tsuna went to help Kyoko and the lady. Just then, Tiger came crawling out too. The brunet gave them reassurance, that All Might will be alright. That he'll win because he promised. Granted, some heroes have arrived to help the hero. Either ways, he helped the three to the safety, Tiger's arm around his shoulders to assist the hero on walking.
The brunet resisted to look back because he knew... He knew the moment he looks back, he won't be able to stop himself from attacking All for One instead and kill him for endangering a family of his. He's a vigilante. He shouldn't be attacking. But there's always an exception, right? Fucking bastard.
Pro-heroes came to them and assisted them. Tsuna left the three to their care, not before reminding Kyoko to look for her worried brother. The lady thanked him profusely. Even the blondie she was with expressed her gratitude. Tsuna flew off to the side to see if there are more people under the rubble. Some heroes came in too, and helped him to look. He directed them where to look with his intuition as his guide. They got more people, slowly cleaning up the place. He was even able to use his sun flames to heal some grave wounds, his storm flames to disintegrate a rod that pierced a man's stomach, and rain flames as pain killers and to slow the movements of the falling debris.
When he was out and following a stretcher, Endeavor landed in front of him and took his arm. He let the pro-hero tug him to somewhere. He didn't even have to be told twice where he was being taken as he noticed All Might wobbled. He took his arm from the flame hero and ran to catch the number one hero. Checking with his sky flames, he let them harmonize with the little sign of quirk inside the man before he took the mittens off and started to heal the life threatening injuries.
"Go help the others." He said to Endeavor. "They need a leader right now. The second top hero is the next pillar this country can trust."
The man nodded and stalked off.
The brunet relaxed and healed the strained arm a little. "For someone who is worried of his student who destroys his body, you're also a reckless one."
"He is, isn't he?" Gran Torino voiced, dropping beside him. "He got him bad."
"Nothing I can handle." He sighed before quirking a sad smile to the unconscious hero. "Good job, All Might-san. You did well being the pillar of our country. Thank you for all the hard work you did, giving hope to those who almost stopped believing. Regardless of how they say we lost the Symbol of Peace and the pillar of Japan, you will still be a legend. So rest well. Sleep tight, and let the next generation take over for you."
"Thank you." The old timer expressed, a gratitude to all the untold reasons.
"It's the least I could do." He hummed, adjusting his hands to heal the head injury a little. "You're a close friend of his?"
"I mentored him."
"Then I should tell you this." He disclosed. "His quirk is vanishing."
"We know- Vanishing?"
Tsuna nodded. "Right now, it's like a small flame. But I'm kindling it with my quirk."
"Your quirk? Your quirk is healing and flying, yes?"
"This," He raised a yellow hand before putting it back. "is another function of my flame quirk. My original quirk is the orange ones you saw when we were flying. It works with harmony. It's the reason why the vanishing quirk is still not gone. I'll make it grow little by little."
"Why?"
He glanced at the old man. "For emergency purposes. This man gave his all." He retracted his hands and waved at the medics. "He deserves the mercies I can provide." Then he faced the old man and let a hand hover on the forming black eye. "Seriously, old man. You have to be careful."
Gran Torino huffed as one stretcher was put beside them while the other is already carrying All Might away. "I was."
He retrieved his hand. "If some pain are unbearable, call for me. I'll make them numb for you."
The old man got put on the stretcher before nodding to him. "I will keep that in mind."
Tsuna watched the medics carried the hero away. He slumped after, exhausted with what happened. He let himself rest a little as everything went down to him. Now... He needs to problem how to get home.
