Ch.15: Reunions
It's been 2 weeks since Ash left for Alola and Serena couldn't stop worrying about him. Leaf did inform her that he called and went because Professor Sycamore was in an accident. Apparently, Ash had been staying with Professor Kukui, Professor Cerise and two girls by the names of Chloe and Lillie. She couldn't help but feel jealous with her boyfriend being around two girls. However, Leaf and Brock reassured her that Ash would never leave her.
Today was the 16th day without Ash, but just when Serena, Leaf and Brock it would be another boring day, an explosion that came from the battlefield of the Pokémon Center was heard. The trio went outside and saw a small audience watching a boy training four of his Pokemon. Serena immediately recognized him as well as two of the Pokémon, which appeared to be Hydreigon and Houndoom, but the other two were completely new.
"That's Ash," cheered Leaf.
"When did he return," asked Brock.
That was a question everyone was asking themselves. When did Ash came back and who were the two new Pokémon?
"Houndoom, use Dark Pulse. Lycanroc, use Stone Edge. Hydreigon and Naganadel, use Dragon Pulse," said Ash and the Pokémon fired their respective attacks, that collided in the middle of the field, creating a huge explosion that formed a cloud of dust. When it cleared, all Pokémon were panting. "Okay, that's enough training for now."
Serena, Leaf and Brock were surprised by the two new Pokémon, but were confused when a floating red device and two girls with a white Vulpix and an Eevee approached him. What caught their eyes was that Greninja was with them.
"Lycanroc and Naganadel are definitely getting stronger," said Greninja.
"Yeah, and soon they'll be as strong as the rest of the team," said Ash.
"Hey, Ash," called Leaf, getting their attention before she jumped on him, hugging him tightly. "I missed you."
Leaf, it's good to see you," said Ash as he returned the hug. "Where are Serena and Brock?"
Just as he said it, the two approached him with smiles on their faces.
"It's good to see you back, Ash," said Brock as the two shared a fist pump.
"Same here," said Ash before looking at Serena. "Hey, Serena."
No one said anything as Serena just stood there, but suddenly brought Ash in a tight hug and cried on his shoulder.
"I missed you so much," said Serena as Ash returned the hug and held her tightly.
"I missed you, too," said Ash.
After around a minute, Serena pulled away from the hug and looked at Ash lovingly before punching him in the shoulder.
"Ouch! I should've seen this one coming," said Ash as he rubbed his shoulder.
"We did," said Leaf, Brock, Greninja and Pikachu simultaneously.
"If you're gonna disappear like that again, at least give me a call before you do," said Serena with a frown.
"Yeah, sorry about that, but it was an emergency," said Ash.
"I know. Leaf filled me in," said Serena before looking at his new friends. "Now, I think introductions are in order."
"Right. Serena, Leaf, Brock, these are Lillie and Chloe, friends I met in Alola," said Ash, surprising the trio.
"Hi, I'm Lillie. It's nice to meet you," said Lillie with a nervous smile.
"The name's Chloe and it's good to meet you," said Chloe with an equally nervous smile.
"Hi. I'm Leaf, Ash's sister," said Leaf, surprising Lillie and Chloe.
"Ash, we didn't know you have a sister," said Chloe.
"Well, we're not really related, but she's a very close friend that could go as my sister," said Ash.
"Okay, now that we settled it, it's my turn. Hi, I'm Brock, former Gym Leader of Pewter City," said Brock as he knelt before the two girls, but before he could say anything, Greninja struck him in the ribs with Aerial Ace.
"Don't even think about it," said Greninja.
"I guess that leaves only me," said Serena as she approached the two girls. "Hi, I'm Serena, a future coordinator and performer as well as Ash's girlfriend."
"So you're Serena. Ash has told us so much about you," said Chloe, surprising Serena.
"He has," asked Serena.
"Yeah, you're lucky to have him as a boyfriend. He couldn't stop thinking about you while he was in Alola," said Lillie.
Serena didn't know what to say. Ash may not have called, but he still thought about her and even praised her to Lillie and Chloe.
"By the way, what's the floating thing and who are your new Pokémon," asked Leaf.
"I'M NOT A THING! I'm a RotomDex, thank you very much," shouted the RotomDex, much to the surprise of Serena, Leaf and Brock.
"It can talk," asked Serena.
"Yeah, a Rotom got inside my PokéDex and this is what happened," said Ash.
"So awesome," said Leaf.
"And the good news is that it can understand what Pokémon are saying," said Ash. "As for the new additions to the team, these are Lycanroc and Naganadel."
"I've never heard of those two," said Brock as he recovered from Greninja's Aerial Ace.
"Let me do the honor," said RotomDex as it floated in front of Lycanroc and Naganadel.
Lycanroc, the Wolf Pokemon. This form of Lycanroc is normally calm and quiet. Once a battle begins, however, this Pokémon displays a ferocious fighting spirit. Type: Rock. Gender: Male. Ability: Tough Claws. Move(s): Accelerock, Stone Edge, Counter, Crunch, Swords Dance. Egg move(s): Thunder Fang (locked)
Naganadel, the Poison Pin Pokemon. One kind of Ultra Beast, it fires a glowing, venomous liquid from its needles. This liquid is also immensely adhesive. Type(s): Poison/Dragon. Genderless. Ability: Beast Boost. Move(s): Dragon Pulse, Sludge Bomb, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Air Slash, Throat Chop, Smart Strike, Draco Meteor. Egg move(s): None.
Serena, Leaf and Brock could only stare in shock at the two new additions to Ash's team.
"There are actually two forms of Lycanroc, but Ash's is a special case," said Lillie.
"Really," asked Leaf.
"Yeah, there are Midday and Midnight, but I've a Dusk–form," said Ash.
"Why dusk," asked Brock.
"Lycanroc's form is based on what time of the day it evolves," said Lillie. "In Ash's case, he evolved during the sunset."
"I think I get it, but what about Naganadel? What's an Ultra Beast," asked Brock.
"From what Professor Kukui told us, Ultra Beasts are Pokemon from another dimension," said Chloe.
"So basically Ash's new Pokemon are a unique form Lycanroc and an inter–dimensional legendary Pokemon," said Leaf before looking at her brother. "Next time you run of to another region like that, I'm coming with you."
"I'll keep that I mind," said Ash with a chuckle.
"Hey, Ash. Would you mind if we have a double battle? I wanna see just how strong Naganadel and Lycanroc are," said Brock.
"You know I never back down from a challenge. You're on," said Ash as he looked at Naganadel and Lycanroc. "You guys ready?"
"Bring it," said Naganadel.
"We're ready," said Lycanroc.
"We're ready for you, Brock," said Ash with a smirk.
"Good, but just know that I won't hold back," said Brock as he went to one side of the field while Ash went to the other.
Serena, Chloe, Lillie, Greninja and Pikachu went to the sidelines to cheer them on as Leaf acted as a referee. Serena had decided to bring out Delphox, Sylveon, Ninetales and Clefairy to watch the battle along with Greninja, Pikachu, Snowy and Eevee.
"Before we start, let me bring out someone," said Ash, confusing everyone. "Come on out, Charmeleon!"
From Ash's PokeBall materialized his newly–evolved Charmeleon, which surprised everyone but Chloe and Lillie.
"Amazing! Charmander has evolved into Charmeleon," said Brock.
"He sure has and he's gotten pretty strong, too," said Ash before turning to said fire–type. "Charmeleon, go and watch the battle with the other, okay?"
"Fine, but I wanna be in the next battle, got it," asked Charmeleon.
"You got it," said Ash with a smile before getting hit by a Flamethrower in the face. "That hurt."
"And that was for not using me in this one," said Charmeleon with a smirk before walking up to the others.
"Did you really have to do that," asked Greninja.
"Yes, yes I did," said Charmeleon.
"And you're not gonna stop doing it, are you," asked Pikachu.
"Heck no. Besides, it was fun," said Charmeleon with a chuckle.
"I guess it was a little funny," said Greninja. "It's not every day you get blasted in the face with a Flamethrower".
"I've got a unique way of showing affection," said Charmeleon as he turned to watch the battle.
Greninja and Pikachu couldn't agree more. However, a certain four–legged fox couldn't stop staring at Charmeleon as he sat on the ground.
"Why am I feeling like this? I know he's got a crush on me, but why do I feel like my heart's gonna burst," Ninetales thought to herself as she blushed.
Unfortunately, this didn't go unnoticed by Delphox, who smirked.
"Looks like Greninja and I will have to bring together one more couple," Delphox thought to herself as she watched Ninetales, who now sat besides Charmeleon, who smiled at the fire fox.
At the field, Brock had brought out Onix and his newly–evolved Golbat to face Ash's Lycanroc and Naganadel.
"Lycanroc, use Accelerock on Onix and follow it up with Stone Edge. Naganadel, use Dragon Pulse on Golbat," said Ash.
"Golbat, dodge it," said Brock.
Lycanroc charged at Onix with Accelerock and struck the rock/ground–type hard before landing on the ground and fired a Stone Edge that struck Onix. Meanwhile, Golbat managed to avoid Naganadel's Dragon Pulse.
"Stay strong. Onix, use Bind. Golbat, use Steel Wing," said Brock.
"Lycanroc, use Counter on Onix. Naganadel, stop that Steel Wing with Flamethrower," said Ash.
Onix charged at Lycanroc with Bind and managed to wrap its tail around the Alola rock–type, but got hit by Counter that hurt it and caused Onix to let go of Lycanroc. Meanwhile, Golbat charged with Steel Wing at Naganadel, but the poison/dragon–type was faster and struck Golbat with Flamethrower.
"Onix, use Dig. Golbat, use Poison Fang," said Brock.
"Lycanroc, get on Naganadel's back. Naganadel, in the air," said Ash.
Onix went underground as Golbat charged with Poison Fang, but Lycanroc got on Naganadel and the poison/dragon–type flew as high as possible to avoid Onix, but its middle needle got bitten by Golbat. Just then Onix erupted from the ground and went for Naganadel.
"You know, Brock. Golbat may be holding onto Naganadel's middle needle, but what about the other two," asked Ash with a smirk as Naganadel aimed his other two needles at Onix much to Brock's shock. "Use Dragon Pulse and then shoot Golbat with Flamethrower!"
Naganadel fired its Dragon Pulse, which struck Onix hard, sending it crashing on the ground, and then blasted Golbat down with a picture–perfect Flamethrower.
"Hang in there, you two," said Brock to his Pokemon. "Onix, use Rock Tomb!"
"Lycanroc, send it back with Counter. Naganadel, counter with Smart Strike," said Ash.
Onix fired its Rock Tomb, but Lycanroc sent one of the rocks back at Onix and Naganadel destroyed the others with Smart Strike.
"Golbat, use Brave Bird," said Brock.
"Naganadel, stop it with Thunderbolt and then use Sludge Bomb on Onix," said Ash.
Golbat charged in with Brave Bird, but Naganadel easily overpowered it with Thunderbolt, who then poisoned Onix with Sludge Bomb.
"Naganadel, pull back. Lycanroc, let's finish this," said Ash as he put his Lycanium Z on his Z–Power Ring and Lycanroc's eyes turned red.
"They're gonna do it," said Lillie and Chloe simultaneously, confusing Serena.
"What are they doing," Serena asked the two girls.
"You're about to find out," said Chloe.
Ash and Lycanroc did several poses before the ground broke and several stone shards floated around Lycanroc, who was standing on a rock pillar.
"This is our full power! Use Splintered Stormshards," said Ash.
Lycanroc howled before jumping and charged at Onix and Golbat with the stone shards behind him. Lycanroc struck Golbat and landed behind Onix, who got hit by the stone shards, knocking both Pokemon out.
"Onix and Golbat are unable to battle," said Leaf. "Lycanroc and Naganadel are the winners!"
"That's how we do it," said Ash as Lycanroc and Naganadel cheered.
"Well, I have no idea what the heck that move was, but congratulations on the victory," said Brock as he approached Ash after returning his defeated Pokemon.
"Thanks, Brock," said Ash as the two shook hands before Serena hugged him from behind.
"That was an amazing battle," said Serena before kissing him on the cheek. "But what was that move Lycanroc used in the end?"
"That was a Z–Move," said RotomDex. "They're quite popular in Alola, but I doubt anyone outside of Alola knows about them."
"But how did you do it," asked Leaf.
"Ash's got a Z–Ring and several Z–Crystals," said Lillie.
"There's one Z–Move for each type, but there are also exclusive Z–Moves," said Chloe.
"For example, a Poisonium Z can be used with every poison–type attack, but a Lycanium Z can be used only by Lycanroc if he knows Stone Edge," said Ash. "It can only work if the Pokemon knows the move of the specific type."
"Greninja, for example, can use Subzero Slammer as it can learn ice–type, but can't use Inferno Overdrive as it doesn't know any fire–type attacks," said Lillie.
"I get it," said Leaf with a nod.
"By the way, you know what I've been doing in Alola, but what have you, guys, been doing these past couple of days," Ash asked Serena, Leaf and Brock.
"It'll be easier if we show you," said Serena as she and Leaf brought out several PokeBalls from which came out a Rapidash, an Eevee and two Pikachu.
"Wow, it looks like Ponita has evolved as well," said Ash before noticing the male Eevee and the two female Pikachu.
"No way. I must be seeing thing," muttered Ash's Pikachu.
"What's wrong, buddy," asked Ash.
"It can't be," muttered the Pikachu that came out of Leaf's PokeBall.
"Okay, I'm completely lost here," said Greninja before looking at Pikachu. "What's going on here?"
"Guys, this is my sister," said Pikachu, shocking everyone. "We were separated a few years ago."
"Unbelievable," said Ash.
"What's the matter, Ash," asked Chloe.
"Well, it turns out the Pikachu Leaf caught is actually my Pikachu's sister," said Ash, shocking everyone. "It looks like they were separated a few years ago."
"You cannot be serious," muttered Leaf in astonishment.
"Hey, Pikachu," said Leaf's Pikachu to her older brother.
"Hey, sis," said Pikachu before hugging her tightly. "I never thought I'd see you again."
"Me, too," said Leaf's Pikachu as she cried on his shoulder.
"They look so happy together," said Lillie and everyone nodded in agreement.
While the humans were admiring the scene in front of them, Chloe's Eevee and Snowy are actually dreamingly staring at Ash's Pikachu.
"Okay, so let's stay for one more night and tomorrow we'll head for Saffron City," said Ash and the others nodded.
"There's one small problem. We've rented only two rooms and everything is busy for the rest of the week," said Brock. "Ash will obviously stay with me, but where are Lillie and Chloe gonna sleep?"
"You have a point there," said Leaf.
"Don't worry about, Brock. The three of us actually shared a bed in Alola," said Ash and immediately put his hand over his mouth after realizing what he just said.
"What did you say," asked Serena as she slowly walked towards Ash. "The three of you slept together in one bed?"
"Run for your lives," shouted Greninja and every Pokemon ran inside the Pokemon Center.
"We better go after them," said Leaf as she grabbed Brock's arm and rushed into the building, leaving Ash, Serena, Lillie and Chloe.
"Look, Serena, it's not his fault," said Lillie. "Chloe and I were already sharing a bed when Professor Kukui told Ash that he can join us. And the professor hardly accepts 'no' for an answer."
"She's right. We even decided to put our feeling aside as we didn't want to ruin your relationship," said Chloe, trying to calm Serena down.
"He still shared a bed with you," said Serena.
"True, but he didn't stop thinking about you," said Chloe, catching Serena off guard. "Every night, he'd look at the sky and thought of you."
"She's right," said Lillie. "He's the most loyal boy I've ever met and you're lucky to have him. He'd never do anything on purpose to make you sad or mad."
"You've known each other for years and I can tell that he loves you very much," said Chloe. "Serena, Ash loves you and he'll always be there for you."
"Yeah, I know," said Serena calmly before looking at Ash. "I'm sorry I reacted so harsh. I just can't help myself when it comes to you being alone with other girls."
"That's okay, Serena," said Ash as he hugged her, before something registered in his mind and looked at Chloe and Lillie. "Hold on, what did the two of you meant by "putting our feelings aside"?"
Lillie and Chloe panicked at that question as Ash and Serena looked at them. The two girls couldn't do anything as they accidentally revealed their biggest secret.
"Let me guess. Both of you have feeling for Ash, right," asked Serena and the two girls panicked even more, confirming Serena's suspicion. "I see. I'm glad that you don't want to ruin our relationship, but it's not fair to you. You can still travel with us, but there are gonna be some rules."
"What kind of rules," asked Lillie.
"Simple ones. Each of you can sleep with him one night per week and the most affection you can show is a hug. That means no kisses," said Serena.
"Is there anything else," asked Chloe.
"Not at the moment, but I'll let you know if something comes up," said Serena and both girls sighed in relief.
"Well, let's get to the others. That battle made me hungry," said Ash just as his stomach growled, causing Serena, Lillie and Chloe to giggle.
