Sorry for the late update, guys. I suddenly was really, really busy and didn't have time to work on this story. Hopefully I'll be able to maintain a more normal update schedule now that everything that I was busy with is now over.
Percy paused in front of the containment room door. He closed his eyes, calmed his breathing, and tried to blank out his mind. The last thing he needed was Stark or Rogers being proven right. He had to do this calmly.
Otherwise they would all just think of him as a child.
Like Captain America did.
He shook his head, and then stepped towards the door.
No time like the present to prove them wrong.
The door emitted him into the room that contained Loki's cell.
Percy silently crossed over to it, watching the being inside move around the cell.
Percy watched as Loki turned towards him, a smooth, mischievous smile on the beings face that almost reminded him of Hermes.
Almost, if Hermes was planning on taking over the world.
Percy met the gods eyes and slowly said, "You wanted to talk to me?"
Loki's smile grew, as he sat down on the cells sterile bed, saying, "Indeed. Although I was uncertain if your boss would send you alone."
"I'm here, aren't I?" Percy responded, being careful to ignore Loki's words about being sent here alone.
"Hmm," Loki's eyes glittered as he nearly purred. "They are watching our conversation, are they not?"
"Maybe," Percy said, eyes not leaving the god.
That caused Loki to laugh a little, "Well then, how does it feel to be babysat?"
Percy's eyes narrowed, "They're not watching because of that. They're watching because they care."
"Oh, indeed," Loki said, grin not changing. "What a wonderful new family you have gotten, Perseus Jackson."
Percy could feel his breath catch in his throat. Only enemies. . . or old friends called him Perseus.
Loki knew who he was.
That was the only option.
He stared at the amused being, eyes growing dark and angry, "What the hell do you want?"
Loki actually laughed at that, "What makes you think I want something from you?"
"You've brought up the past," Percy responded. "Which makes me think you want something from me. After all, I don't discuss the past."
"Ah, yes," purred Loki. "You have not brought up to your new family that your old one betrayed you. That they abandoned you. That you have been so embarrassed by being cast out that you have not even gone to see your mother. Oh, how she must miss you."
"Shut. Up." Percy hissed his face becoming red and splotchy with anger.
"You know," Loki said, ignoring Percy's words, "you and I are very much alike."
That caused Percy to let out a croaky laugh as he snapped, "I'm nothing like you."
"Oh really?" Loki smirked darkly. "Let us test that."
He cleared his throat, "You were thrown aside by your father. So was I. They abandoned you, left you to become this. I was too."
Loki stood up and crossed closer to the glass, "You and I are more alike than you care to admit, Perseus Jackson. Tell me, do you want revenge against your father's family?"
Percy shook his head. Sure he might be angry at Poseidon and the rest of the Olympians, but he didn't want to destroy them.
He glared at Loki, "No. I don't."
"You say that" Loki said as he stared directly through the glass into Percy's soul. "But I have a feeling, you do not mean it."
"I do," Percy said.
Then he spun around and headed for the door.
He needed to leave.
It was pretty clear that Loki only wanted to attempt to get him on the gods side and had never been planning on divulging any information.
Loki called to him as he left, "I will be here if you change your mind, Perseus."
Yeah, that wasn't going to happen.

Natasha was frowning in complete anger at the screen where she had been watching Percy's interview of Loki. Her hands were enclosed in tight angry fists. How dare Loki. How dare he try and take away another one of Natasha's friends. Especially a kid who Nat had helped find his way.
She remained calm as Rogers spoke up, "That was a bust."
Natasha looked up as the Director nodded slowly in agreement, "It was. But it shows that Loki is desperate for a way out."
"Yeah, turning to the Great White is a fantastic idea," Stark said. "Kid's the most powerful being on this ship; after Point Break here and Dr. Banner."
He gestured at Thor and the doctor when he referenced them.
Natasha took a deep breath as Percy reentered the room.
He looked pissed off.
But he managed to calm down when he saw the director from what she could see.
Percy carefully attempted a smile, "Sorry boss. I was about to throw him across that glass box if I didn't get out of there."
"It is quite alright, Agent Jackson," Fury said before he dipped his head towards Stark and Dr. Banner, adding, "You both can return to the lab and continue the scan."
Natasha watched as the two men left before she turned her attention on Percy.
She crossed over to him and laid a hand on his shoulder.
He looked up at her and attempted a smile.
"Spar," Natasha told him. "15 minutes. Training room."
Percy actually grinned at that, "See you there."
Natasha felt a smile grow on her face as she and Percy slipped out of the room.
With any luck a spar would help take Percy's mind off of what Loki said.

Steve was growing even more concerned as time passed. He frowned towards where Agent Romanoff and the kid had disappeared. From what Agent Romanoff had implied they were going to spar.
And Steve was going to follow them to watch over the kid and make sure that he was going to be okay.
It was the least Steve could do after all.
The kid had reacted badly when Loki had spoken of his past. And that lead Steve to believe that he had hit the nail on the head when it came to Agent Jackson's past.
Steve himself had a tough time when it came to thinking about the past. He couldn't imagine what the kid was going through. At seventeen at that.
Steve shook his head as he arrived at the training room and stepped in.
He raised an eyebrow in surprise at what he saw.
Agent Romanoff and the kid were moving around each other, almost dancer-like.
They both were clearly well trained.
That pulled a weight off of Steve's chest as he watched for a few more minutes before slipping back out the door.
Perhaps wondering the halls of the hellicarrier would help soothe his worries.
Although a part of him doubted it.

Annabeth took a deep breath as she glanced around Loki's base of operation making sure no one was looking at her. Then she slipped over to where Chiron and the other demigods were sitting planning out how to protect the camps.
She slipped into her seat and hissed to everyone, "I have something to tell you guys."
Everyone turned their attention to Annabeth. Jason frowned at her and said, quietly, "I was wondering where you were Annabeth. What's up?"
Annabeth took a deep breath and hissed, "I heard Loki and his minions talking."
"Oh," Chiron said softly, sounding concerned.
Annabeth nodded, "I'm almost certain that Loki has lied to us now. The way he was talking. . . and that machine that he's building isn't a weapon. It's a space-time machine. There are few reasons he'd need a space-time machine."
That caused Chiron to nearly relax before he responded quickly, "I thought as much. There are very few reasons that Loki would have come to us. The only option was that he was trying to trick us somehow."
"So, SHIELD isn't trying to destroy us," Reyna said grimly. "Instead, Loki is trying to trick us into an all-out war with SHIELD."
"So it seems," Piper murmured under her breath.
Chiron let out a sigh, and said, "Well then, since Annabeth has proven exactly what Loki is actually planning, I think it's high time that we left and returned to our respective camps. There is no reason to fight."
"What about Loki?" Annabeth demanded. "He can't be allowed to get away with this."
Chiron shook his head at her, "Even if we could do something, Annabeth, that is not possible. We could risk the exposing of us all if we tried to fight him. SHIELD could find out about us for real."
Annabeth could feel frustration beginning to build, "We can't just let Loki do what he wants to our planet Chiron! We have a duty to protect this world!"
"There are others that can," Chiron said calmly. "There are others that SHIELD has drafted for that very purpose. We cannot and will not risk the revelation of demigods to the real world yet."
Annabeth glared up at Chiron. This was the first time that she'd ever felt anything like this towards her mentor. Chiron had supported her through so much and now he was essentially telling her that they couldn't stop Loki. Even if the crazy Norse god was about to destroy the entire Earth.
"What about Percy?" Jason asked, a frown forming on his face. "He's one of us, and yet he's helping them."
Annabeth turned towards Chiron at that, hoping that he would see reason, but Chiron just shook his head.
"Percy is no longer considered a demigod," Chiron reminded them gently. "His banishment will stand until Lord Zeus revokes it. And the only way for that to happen is if we can get Percy before him. Which I doubt will happen any time soon."
Annabeth turned her head and met Jason's blue eyes. Her friend nodded his head in agreement, immediately sensing what Annabeth was trying to tell him.
They were going to try and stop Loki without Chiron's permission.
They were going to find Percy and help him stop the god if it was the last thing they did.
Annabeth wasn't going to let Loki get away with trying to start a war in between demigods and SHIELD without giving him a nice punch in the jaw.
Now all that remained was slipping away without Chiron noticing they were gone.
And hoping that Percy would be able to forgive them for believing Loki's words.

Loki smiled.
So far everything was going completely as plan.
Everything except getting Agent Perseus Jackson on his side.
It was all too clear that he had struck a nerve during their conversation.
Loki enjoyed striking such mental blows to people like Percy Jackson.
Percy Jackson had been a hero.
And then thanks to Gaea he had become a traitor.
And now he was going to become Loki's puppet.
No matter what and how many people got in his way.
Percy Jackson would be his pawn.
