Steve followed after Mr. Stark as they ran through the dim halls filled with debris of all kinds. They were heading for Stark's storage area in the Helicarrier.

Stark called over his shoulder to Steve. "Find engine three. I'll meet you there."

Steve nodded and took off towards engine three.

He didn't know exactly what had happened, but Steve had a feeling that it was part of something much, much bigger.

And that made Steve very suspicious.

Natasha squirmed underneath the metal support post that her leg was trapped underneath. Her eyes though were fixed on what was happening next to her. During the explosion, she and Dr. Banner were thrown through the front windows to the lower equipment room.

And now Dr. Banner was shaking in suppressed rage, his face growing and changing slowly, grunting as he continued to shake.

Natasha's voice shook as she spoke to Dr. Banner. "Doctor. . . Bruce, you gotta fight it. This is just what Loki wants. We're gonna be okay. Listen to me."

Out of the corner of her eye she saw two SHIELD agents heading in their direction. Natasha's eyes widened and she waved them away from that area. The two guys immediately saw what was going on and darted away.

Natasha let out a breath of relief and turned back to Bruce. "We're gonna be okay. Right? I swear on my life I will get you out of this, you will walk away, and never. . ."

"Your life?" Bruce growled at her.

Natasha tensed. Bruce's voice had changed. It was now a more animalistic growl filled with rage. Another explosion shook the carrier. . . and Bruce slowly turns to stare at her as the lights turn out.

"Bruce," Natasha whispered as the change finally takes over.

Natasha finally struggled free from the rubble and starts to back away as the Hulk's huge back appears in front of her.

She stopped, suddenly uncertain of the creature could hear her movements.

The Hulk suddenly turned his head and roars at her, his face turning into a vicious, monstrous snarl.

Instantly Natasha jolted up the stairs with the sounds of the Hulk right behind her. She rolled under a turbine and started to crawl within the maze of pipes.

The Hulk began to pull them out, trying to get at her.

Natasha fell through under the catwalk and quickly managed to escape from him.

For the time being at least.

The Hulk let out a roar of rage behind her that made Natasha's hair stand on end.

It was unlike anything she had ever heard.

It was wild.

It was primal.

And it wasn't human.

Natasha didn't know which part terrified her more.

And it was usually really difficult to scare her.

Loki looked up as a roar filled the Hellicarrier.

A small smile filled his face.

It had begun.

Steve pushed through the door on the portside, opening the door and seeing SHIELD techs in full oxygen masks shooting fire extinguishers and cover the sparks with it. There wasn't anything they could do but that.

Engine three sounded totally dead.

From what he could see a large chunk of the port side is just gone.

Steve touched his comm, "Stark, I'm here!"

"Good." Stark flew up in his Iron Man suit and got closer to the damaged area. "See what we got."

Steve watched as Stark began to scan the damaged area with his suits systems. He waited for Stark to get done, a feeling of tension filling him the longer he stood there.

Stark muttered to himself for a moment, and then he turned to face Steve again as he began pulling on the stuck rotors. "I need you to get to that engine control panel and tell me which relays are in overload position."

Steve nodded as Stark flew into the giant cooling conductors. And then he jumped over to the other side of the broken railing.

He made his way over to the control panel and opened it up.

He stared at it uncomprehendingly.

It was complete gibberish.

There was no way he could understand this.

"What's it look like in there?" Stark asked over the comm.

Steve hesitated a moment and then responded. "It seems to run on some form of electricity."

"Well, you're not wrong." Stark muttered.

Steve grimaced.

That didn't sound good.

Percy ran through the halls as fast as he could. He had to join Coulson as soon as possible. If someone was invading the Helicarrier then the detention area would be the first place that they would strike. He couldn't leave Coulson to take care of that alone.

As he rounded a corner, he smacked right into someone, knocking both himself and them to the ground.

Percy started to speak, eyes going towards whoever it was before he froze. "What the hell? What are you doing here?"

Annabeth was sitting on the floor in front of him rubbing her head as Jason crouched down to her and attempted to help her up.

They both jerked their heads toward him when they heard his voice.

Percy glared at them as he pushed himself up to his feet. He snapped at them. "I'll ask again. What the hell are you doing here?"

Annabeth gaped up at him as she stood to her feet, nearly shouting, "Percy! We were hoping to see you here! We came with Barton! He's here to get Loki!"

"How do you know about Loki?" Percy demanded with narrowed eyes as he started to walk around them.

Annabeth and Jason followed after him as Jason quickly began to explain. "He came to Camp and tried to convince us that SHIELD was moving against us. We realized what he was really up to about a day ago and came to warn you about his plan."

Percy paused at that and turned to face them. "What is his plan?"

Annabeth didn't hesitate. "He's preparing a space-time portal that will let something into our world. We're not exactly sure what. He didn't say."

"Do you know where?" Percy demanded.

Annabeth shook her head. "Once we found out what they were up to, everyone else went back to camp. Jason and I decided to try and stop him."

Percy frowned and then sighed. "Follow me. I have someplace to be. After this crisis is done then you can tell me everything else."

Then he continued to walk down towards the detention center.

"Where are we going?" Jason asked.

Percy huffed. "The detention area. I have orders to assist Coulson in the lock down."

He heard Annabeth nearly shout, "Where Loki's being held? There are some of Barton's minions going to free him as we speak!"

Percy frowned. "Then I need to get there as soon as possible."

He broke into a run and heard Annabeth and Jason break into a run behind him too.

He had to get down to the detention area.

Otherwise, something might happen to Coulson if he was down there alone.

Natasha continued to crawl under the catwalk. She didn't know where exactly the Hulk was, but she did know that there was absolutely no way that the Hulk would leave her alone. He was still after her, even if she couldn't hear him anymore.

She stopped moving for a moment trying to detect where the Hulk was.

There was silence all around her.

She was uncertain where exactly the Hulk was now.

She remained frozen, listening intently.

Then she heard it.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The room began to vibrate.

Natasha shut her eyes for a long moment and then pulled her gun out of it's holster. She let out a shaky breath and slipped onto the catwalk itself.

Her eyes dart around as she spins, searching for him.

Then something roars way too close to her.

Natasha flinched back when she saw the Hulk and raised her gun, pointing it up to the liquid nitrogen pipe above the Hulk's head.

Steam poured out of it, causing the Hulk to roar again in rage.

In those scant moments, Natasha is running away down the maze of corridors.

She can hear the monster take up the chase behind her, roaring in rage and smashing through glass and transparasteel.

Natasha reached a long dark corridor and tore down it, the sounds behind her getting louder.

She twisted her head and that was all it took.

A green hand smacks into her like a fly and sends her flying into the wall.

Natasha gasps as she hit the wall, pain beginning to travel up her spine as she looked up at the Hulk.

He smashed his fists into the ground and snarls viciously, heading directly for her.

Natasha recoiled.

She had never felt fear like this.

Not once in her entire life.

Her eyes widen as the Hulk raised one of his huge fists.

And then the Hulk is gone, slamming through a wall, a blonde-haired blur following him.

Natasha slumped to the ground, her limbs beginning to shake in horror and terror at what had almost happened to her.
