Skye

January 30th 2015

Skye and Co were finally retreating from the Academy. It had probably been one of the more stressful missions that the team had went on, and also one with the closest impact on SHIELD.

Skye, FitzSimmons and Ward were all called to the Sci-Tech Academy due to some device freezing a student in a pool which Agent Weaver, the head of Sci-Tech, seemed to think was a possible murder attempt. Which seemed weird (at the time) for a school filled with passive geniuses.

She had originally thought the entire team was going, but May gave her a look of 'don't ask' when Coulson informed them that the two of them were going on a separate mission from the younger team mates.

It had been weird, going on a mission without May and Coulson. Ward had clearly taken his duty as the oldest and tried to take charge but Skye thought it back fired when they got to the Academy and found out that FitzSimmons were the cool kids. Well, Skye found out, Ward claims that he always knew but she thinks he was just trying to save kids.

It had been cute though, watching Fitz and Simmons get to be in their element. The legendary Sci-Tech couple, soulmates who met at the Academy, the youngest to ever attend and the fastest to graduate. It was like a lifetime movie for the kids at the Academy.

Skye pestered the two of them for more information regarding their time at Sci-Tech, but the two were focused on giving the 'bad seed' talk. Again, was slightly weird to see everyone pay such rapt attention to the two, to hold them in such a regard.

It wasn't as though the did not deserve it, but on the bus they were just the science kids. At the Academy they might as well have been Avengers. She still felt a smile pull at her face at the recognition her friends got, she wished everyone could look at them like that.

Even if they joked about her being able to get into the easiest Academy like she was stupid. Fitz got a warning growl from Maria at that, he did his best to hide the flinch from them but they noticed. Jemma looked away as she got an image of what happened through her link with Fitz.

"Whats up with you?" Ward questioned him, looking a little suspicious.

"Ah, nothing, just had like a flashback to something that happened at the Academy. Those first year pranks were brutal." Fitz quickly covered.

Ward had continued to stare at him before he rolled his eyes and continued with a mission briefing.

The three wolves shared a look of relief that Ward had just moved on without further thought. Being in close contact with the pack and not being able to react to the bond they had was proving to be difficult. A lot of the times, when Skye couldn't be bothered speaking or moving, she'd just use her link with Fitz to get her point across.

Unfortunately, the two of them unconsciously did this in front of Coulson and Ward more than once. The young wolves attempted to play it off as spending so much time together that they were starting to unconsciously know what each other wanted and then made a show of it the next day.

May had given them a stern warning after that had happened and told them to stop using the link so often. After speaking to Bobbi about it, Skye started to get into the habit of blocking out May and Fitz when she was on the bus/on missions to get use to being normal again. It was hard work.

May ended up challenging them to not use their link at all during their mission to the Academy, which turned out to be frustrating but smart. It was not only Ward who was watching them carefully, but some of the students and Agent Weaver.

Agent Weaver had looked at her two previous students with a studious eyes before commenting that they seemed different.

Her friends were the worst when they laughed nervously. How anyone thought giving the two of them a secret like being wolves was a good idea. This was maybe why the Alphas were happy to keep the two in the lab.

Whilst Weaver had taken Fitz and Simmons to the lecture hall to set them up, Ward had taken Skye to the Wall of Valor. She had found it interesting when she had been reading up on it but seeing it in person really put things into perspective and had a rather humbling effect.

These people put their lives on the line for SHIELD without any enhancements. Skye wondered what that felt like, to feel so vulnerable? Would it be like when she first met Mike Peterson? Seeing him use his enhanced strength tear off doors had frightened the life out of her. Objectively, Skye knew that Mike was a good guy, but in that moment she feared for her own life.

Skye had stood at the wall and gave a silent appreciation for getting the wolf serum. She didn't have to worry too much about being hurt in the field, not much could hurt her and if there was a weapon that could hurt her it was only temporarily. Although, she could suffocate to death apparently, so she planned on not getting into small spaces with limited oxygen.

Another thing that had crossed her mind when staring at the wall was that she wasn't an official SHILED agent. She did not have a badge, did not have any standing within SHILED – everyone distrusted her. She had not earned their respect, she had just hacked her way in and got lucky that it was Coulson and May who picked her up. Lucky that she was given the serum.

Skye tried not to dwell on this for the rest of the mission.

In the lecture hall, Fitz and Simmons gave their speech – again, it through Skye how much everyone liked her two dorks – and another incident had happened. This time a kid named Donnie Gill was targets and encased in ice completely before Skye had located the device.

Donnie seemed like a good kid, a little lonely, but ultimately good. They gently questioned him on who might be angry at him or who would want to hurt him. He had just shrugged them off with a "I don't know anyone". It wasn't making their investigation any easier, especially when the freezing device came back clear of any genetic materials however, Fitz did advise that the parts were expensive and no cadet would be able to source these types of components theirselves.

Skye titled her head at that. She could potentially track finances to see if anything was paid directly to students accounts, she could also check how frequently they left Sci-Tech and how many parcels were delivered to them. But with the volume of students residing here, along with faculty members, it could take hours, potentially days to shift through all that data.

She voice her thoughts to Ward but he dismissed them. He told her it would be no use, especially with how the attacks were accelerating, they could potentially have a fatality and find the culprit within the time scale it took for her to look through that information and then investigation their list of potential candidates. It had made Skye scowl at how easily he dismissed her ideas – even if he was correct. If she had access to more powerful computers, potentially the ones here at Sci-Tech, it wouldn't take long. However, if they wanted to keep their internal investigation internal, they shouldn't use open access computers like the ones at the academy.

After the second incident with the freezing device, their mission had actually resolved itself pretty fast, only lasting a few more hours. Ward had sent Fitz to go check on Donnie - "Aww, Tin Man does have a heart!" Skye had teased him – whilst the three of them headed to the boiler room.

Skye was almost jealous that she did not attend Sci-Tech because the boiler room was awesome! Bobbi, at that moment, decided to slip into her mind.

'Hey short stuff.' Bobbi greeted

'I'm not short.' Skye quickly retorted with a playful scowl.

'Everyone is short to me,' her mate teased back.

Skye had smiled gently to herself, she loved it when Bobbi would just randomly pop into her head. It always brightened her day. Skye had missed Bobbi immensely and was looking forward to her visit. The other day Bobbi had confirmed that she had gotten leave and should be with her shortly. Apparently Fury also granted Izzy leave, however both of them had to check in with him first before they could go anywhere. 'Any reason for your wonderful intrusion?'

'Heard you were at Sci-Tech, I was going to suggest that you check out the Boiler room, but it seems that Jemma has taken you there already. Although, she has told Ward about the place so as a spokeswoman of the graduates of Sci-Tech, I am going to have to remove her Boiler room privileges.' Bobbi finished dramatically.

Skye blinked at that new line of information. 'You went to Sci-Tech? I thought you were operations.'

'I was originally Sci-Tech for the first few months during my first year but quickly switched to Operations. I have a degree in Biology and planned on taking it further but at the same time, I enjoyed martial arts and had been spending a few years on my own learning to use batons. I found Sci-Tech to be boring as hell, so jumped ship to Operations. Best decision I ever made.' Bobbi told her.

'Damn, my mate the biologist, baton using, ass-kicking SHIELD agent.' Skye joked. 'Thats impressive.'

'I do try.' Bobbi joked with her. 'Nothing I can do tops hacking into SHIELD on a laptop using some weird wi-fi or whatever was in your van. That is impressive. The guys in Communications – those who know about you – won't stop talking about it and are still trying to figure out ways to improve our systems so it won't happen again.'

'Wait, seriously?'

'Bobbi.' Came the warning tone of Maria. 'She's on a mission. Ward's already getting suspicious of them.'

'Killyjoy.' Bobbi grumbled. 'I'll tell you more about when I next see you, okay? I actually have a few things to talk to you about. Nothing bad, I promise. Just more about my life, okay?'

Skye sighed, she had been unhappy with Maria interrupting their bonding time but understood why she had done it. 'Yeah, okay. I'll see you soon, right?'

'Promise.' Bobbi swore, sending feelings of love through the bond. 'I love you.'

'I love you too.'

It had taken a few seconds for Skye to focus back on the mission but had been quickly grounded with a quick touch from Jemma, who had given her a concerned look. Jemma had told her that she simply kept the conversation going and had taken her with her whilst Ward went to go observe other students.

Skye was extremely grateful to have Jemma in her life.

From there, everything sped up. Skye used her amazing undercover techniques to get information from the bartender by pretending that she was a Level 7 CS operative stationed at the Sandbox. The bartender gave her a lot of information, including information regarding a student who wanted to be placed at the Sandbox, but apparently lost the top position to Donnie.

Ward had taken that information and ran with it, giving her an appreciative look. He quickly cornered the girl and got more information out of her, which lead to them realising it was a set up made by Donnie and Seth to lure Fitz and Simmons to the academy.

Jemma had attempted to warn Fitz, who realised that the issue that the duo were having was a power issue which he just helped Donnie solve. Jemma had looked worried – rightfully so – when Fitz ran back to Donnie's room.

Ward had approached them and advised that May and Coulson made contact, they were to return to the bus to provide mission details. On their way back to the Bus, Jemma had gasped, her hand going to her neck with a frown.

Ward had looked back at her weirdly before asking what had happened. Jemma replied that she thinks Fitz has been knocked out, or at least, hurt enough that he wasn't able to move. The three of them had quickly ran to Donnie's room, hoping that they could intervene the young cadet and help Fitz. When the arrived, it was just Fitz who was steading himself against a drawer.

Ward opted to stay behind with Agent Weaver to co-ordinate a search for Donnie and Seth whilst the three young wolves made it back to the bus, convening with May and Coulson on what they had learned so far. They revisited the topic of a potential investor and now that they knew who was responsible for the attacks, it as fairly easy for Skye to find out who it was – Ian Quinn.

Skye had noticed that Coulson was acting weird. She requested a moment of his time to speak to him about, but he had tried to avoid it. Skye kept persisting and eventually he gave in and explained what was bothering him.

She wished she hadn't asked him.

Coulson informed her that May and himself had been following a lead on her past today. Spoke to man who knew where she had came from and what happen in the days leading up to her being dropped off at St. Agnes.

It was nothing short of a horror movie. When Skye had imagine the reasons as to why she was left at an orphanage with no information, she never thought of this. Skye had thought that she thought of everything – everything but what child could imagine an entire SHIELD team and village being massacred in order to protect her, an 084?

Skye had quickly blocked out the pack when the first wave of shock hit her. She did not want them knowing this, although on some level she knew that at least May, Maria and Natasha already knew, she just did not want to discuss it. Not till she had processed this completely.

Skye was grateful that Donnie and Seth choose that moment to activate their device. She wasn't sure she could have spoken past the small reply she had given him.

The five remaining members of the team huddled around the command centre as they looked for way to end the super storm, eventually Fitz had came up with the idea to fly into the eye of the storm to reach Donnie and Seth. May had shot Fitz a look, probably upset at the idea of potentially ruining the bus, before agreeing with him and getting it set up.

The mission ended shortly afterwards. Seth had been killed by the device and Donnie was taken into custody by SHIELD. They decided to place him at the Sandbox for observation instead of working as part of a team. Which, was weird in Skye's opinion, but on the other hand, the kid had crazy potential and was misguided. It would be best for him to stay under SHILED's thumb for the time being.

Coulson had later informed them that Quinn was working with the Clairvoyant. It was starting to frustrate Skye that this Clairvoyant was cropping up in their missions and seemed to have their hands in everyones pockets. Something was niggling at the front of her head, but she just couldn't figure it out.

She had grumbled her frustrations to the pack, who in turn shared their own experiences of missions going haywire and of piecing information together. They had assured her that she would figure it out eventually, she was a genius hacker after all. It was in her nature to crack codes.

That night, May had quietly entered her bunk – long after everyone else had fallen asleep – and sat down on her bed. The older wolf had given her a questioning glance before choosing to use their pack link.

'Are you okay?'

Skye had shrugged, but moved closer to the older wolf, determined to get her daily cuddling session in.

'Do you want to talk about it?' May questioned again.

'Not really.' Skye had finally replied.

'Okay.'

Skye titled her head at the older wolf. 'You're not going to push?'

'I'd be a hypocrite if I pushed you to talk.' May had told her.

Skye remembered Bahrain and what Natasha had told her had happened to May. 'Thank you.'

'Anytime. Want me to stay?' May asked her.

'Please,' Skye begged and moved onto her side and pressed her back against the wall. May slide in next to her and had wrapped her arms tightly around Skye. It was a tight squeeze but the two of them made it work and Skye drifted off into a peaceful sleep after a very stressful day.

Skye

February 1st 2015

After the incident at the Academy, the team were intent on hunting down Quinn. Skye was busy trying to ignore what Coulson told and ignore May, who was insistent on being everywhere Skye was. The older wolf was never far from, always a searching look on her face as she seemed to be expecting Skye to have a breakdown at any moment.

For once, Skye was happy to avoid May and spend time with Ward, Fitz and Simmons. Most of the time was spent on her laptop, tracking every single movement that Quinn had made, checking every transaction in hopes of finding him.

Finally, she made a hit. A $10 million hit.

The team all huddled around the Command Centre as Coulson gave the brief. They were going to the Italian country side to track the movement of Quinns package, hoping that it would lead them to him.

"So, you think Quinn will be on this train?" May questioned, her arms folded as she looked between Coulson and Skye.

"No, but we believe that the package will be delivered directly to him." Coulson explained.

"Follow the package, find the evil mastermind," Fitz quipped sarcastically. "Sounds like a great plan."

"You haven't even heard the best part yet." Coulson said with amusement. All five of them turned and looked at him suspiciously. "If everything goes to plan, Cybertek's security team will never know we are on the train."

Skye, Fitz and Jemma all looked at him in confusion.

Ward leaned back in realisation, "so you mean..."

May let out a huff of annoyance, "I hate undercover."

'You know, for someone who hates undercover, you are really good at it.' Skye thought to the older wolf as she followed her interactions through the pack connection.

'Is it really undercover if she's just being herself? Well, an upper class version of herself.' Fitz asked.

'The best part about this mission is the fact that you've made Ward your bitch.' Skye teased her, 'bet he's only happy with that due to all the flirting.'

Skye could feel May rolling her eyes at the two of them. 'You two should be focused on your own part.'

'Someone's grumpy.' Skye teased, she could hear Fitz let out a low chuckle as they walked to their seats.

"So, are we going to be American or Scottish?" Fitz asked.

"Does it really matter?" Skye replied.

"Espionage 101, Skye. We should make it seem like we are actually together."

Skye smirked at him, "Oh? You mean like this?" Skye quickly moved over to his side of the chair and draped herself over him. She ran her fingers up his back before settling in his hair and pulling him in for a kiss.

"I think we would make an excellent couple." Skye whispered in a terrible Scottish accent.

Fitz spluttered for a bit, his face slightly red. "We're American then."

"Hey, that was really good!" Skye said, surprised.

'Don't need to sound so surprised.' Fitz admonished teasingly. "I watched a lot of American TV growing up. Lots of nice teeth." 'Also, Natasha gave me some lessons in blending into my surroundings and nothing stands out more than a Scottish accent.'

'Now that makes more sense' "Oh, here we go. Conductor incoming" Skye stood up to quickly intercept the conductor.

She had fun pretending to be an over zealous girlfriend whilst she stole the conductors keys. She kept her grin in place as they headed to the luggage cart, overly amused with Fitz's reaction.

'You know I've seen you having sex before, right?' She asked him

Fitz grumbled under his breath as he opened the door, pointedly ignoring her.

'Heard it as well. Jemma always sounds like she's having a good time.'

'Don't mind Leo, he always gets a little flustered every now and then,' Natasha taunted. 'Remember the first time you saw me naked? Your face was priceless!'

'What about the time he walked in on May absolutely railing you?' Maria added, laughing.

The rest of the pack snickered, joining into the conversation.

'There is also the time he walked in on Maria giving a blow job to Nat's strap.' May added helpfully, doing her best to not smile around Ward.

'He also walked in on Jemma, Tori and I. I don't know if he wanted to cover his eyes or keep watching Jemma get fucked by someone else.' Izzy said, joining in on the fun.

'Or that time he walked in on me and Bobbi when she was all tied up.' Clint chuckled.

Skye was full on laughing now, she couldn't believe poor Fitz had been through all this. "Oh man, Fitz. Please tell me you at least joined in on one occasion?"

'Knocked it off guys!' Fitz whined, he turned to pout at Skye. 'I was like, 19 when I joined the pack and you are all older and open and I was not used to that.'

'Aww, poor baby.' Natasha cooed 'It's okay my little lion, one day you'll be ready to join the adults in a fantastic orgy.'

Skye was still giggling to herself as she set up the communications. She felt Natasha briefly brush across her mine, a silent question being asked. She sighed softly and gently pushed Natasha out her mind, not wanting to deal with this right now.

Ever since Coulson told her about her origin and how SHILED had intervened in her life, Natasha and Maria have been attempting to get her to talk about it. They are under the policy that if you talk about it, it will help you feel better. Skye had quickly snapped at both of them that neither of the two wolves openly shared their feelings regarding similar matters and that if Natasha was so desperate to know, she could just use her Alpha commands.

When Skye had snapped at them, Fitz made the executive decision that they were going to have a movie night and the three of them, Jemma, Fitz and Skye, bundled into May's room to watch a film. May had rolled her eyes at them, but did not hesitate to wrap her arms around her pups making sure all three felt safe and content.

Skye's snapping had kept Natasha and Maria quiet for a grand total of a day before they went back to their gentle prodding.

'We should go.' Fitz said, picking up on the subtle change in Skye's mood. 'We've got to focus on the mission.'

'Okay my little pups, be safe.' Natasha said, slipping out of their minds.

The two of them sat in silence as they finished setting up the communications.

"You know, I have devices that could have done this." Fitz absently said, fiddling with his computer.

"What?" Questioned Skye, looking over at him curiously.

"Break open the door and stuff."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"I'm always the gadget guy. Sometimes I want to do things with my bare hands." He lamented.

"You built those devices with your bare hands, Leo. Just because you aren't doing it Ward's way, doesn't mean its not correct or impressive." Skye reminded her, sliding her hand over to grip his.

Fitz gave her a soft smile before scowling playfully. "Can't you allow me these rare moments of self-pity! Worst pretend girlfriend ever."

Skye gasped dramatically, "you take that back!"

Fitz just stuck his tongue out at her before turning back to his computer. "Coms are live guys." He announced.

"Everyone in position?" Skye asked them.

"Yup, just waiting on May." Simmons chirped.

'Jemma is happy with her cover that she's created. I think it's genius, Coulson's not gonna know what hit him!' Fitz gleefully told her.

'What cover has she got?' Skye asked curiously

'Just listen, I don't want to ruin it for you.' Fitz chuckled.

Skye nodded her head and focused on the comms. Fitz was right, Coulson had no idea what hit him. Skye could imagine the look on his face and she would have done anything to watch that in real time. Jemma was right though, she did excel in preparation and it done the girl wonders in the undercover op. She really couldn't lie to save herself.

Skye and Fitz cackled to each other at the idea of Coulson being with prostitutes. They could hear the exasperation in his face when he questioned Simmons on it.

"Coulson you dog." Skye teased him over the comms.

"Skye!" Coulson whined jokingly.

"May, he's heading your way." Fitz called out, watching their target's track through their cameras.

"On it." 'You two are having a lot of fun today.'

Skye and Fitz looked at each other, both instantly thinking of the same thing with a smirk. 'Bonding', they answered in unison.

'A bit like you and Ward recently.' Fitz added teasingly.

'A lot like her and Ward.' Skye gave a snort.

May rolled her eyes at them. 'You two are a nightmare together.'

'You love us.' Fitz said, a smirk firmly in place.

'You wouldn't have us any other way!' Skye chipped in.

'And you two should thank your lucky stars that I love you. Or else one of you'd be kicked off the bus.' May threatened.

'Ouch.'

'Too soon, May. Too soon!' Fitz called out, acting insulted on Skye's behalf.

'She wounded me Fitz, you must go on without me.' Skye called out dramatically.

'Brats.' May growled fondly. 'Lets focus.'

'Yes Alpha.' The two youngest teased before following the order.

They watched on the monitor as May tracked the security guards footsteps, leading her right to the package.

"May, Cybertek cases are usually lined with tungsten polymer to prevent scanning. It should appear black on your infrared." Fitz informed her, all three of them watching the train for black spots.

"There it is." Skye called out, noticing the blackout area.

"I see it," Confirmed May.

Both of the younger wolves turned their attention away from the coms for minute to discuss the outside scenery. Skye bit her lip as she considered asking Fitz about 084's. Ever since Coulson had told her the truth, she had been blocking out the pack and Bobbi. She did not want anyone to know, although she was not disillusioned enough to think that May did not know – May and Coulson shared everything it seemed.

If she asked Fitz, he'd most likely share it was the pack. Whether it would be intentional or not, she wasn't sure. Most likely unintentional, a lot of information would just float out your head and project itself to the pack. Skye tried to understand the mental link they had, but it was far too confusing, it was very similar to a soulbond link. Except it was harder to block Bobbi out and Bobbi could always break through her 'barrier' if she wanted to and people in the pack could use that as a way around Skye's barrier. Skye was grateful that her soulmate accepted that sometimes you just want your head to be your own and wasn't letting anyone have access.

In the end, she decided not to bring it up with her friend. It was just easier this way. She could always find the information out by looking into SHIELD's history. Shouldn't be too difficult.

Skye flinched when static filled her ears.

"Our comms are down. What the hell?" Fitz gasped, quickly checking the equipment for any obvious errors. "May. Coulson. Does anyone read?"

'May, comms are down, whats going on?' Skye asked, demanding information from the older wolf.

"I think our comms are down."

'Cybertek knows we are here.' May answered 'prepare yourselves.'

"Shit." The younger wolves cursed, looking at each other.

"We have to warn Coulson and Ward – you've told Jemma, right?" Skye quickly asked.

"They are already aware. Shit. Someone's chasing Jemma." Fitz growled, his eyes narrowing. Skye blinked in surprise. It was the first time she's seen Fitz show any aggression.

Both Skye and Fitz turned their heads toward the door as they heard an increase in foot traffic outside their cart hallway.

"I think we've got to worry about ourselves first then, Jemma." Skye cautioned. "Do we have any guns?"

"Uh, yeah, just the one." Fitz grabbed the lone Night-Night gun.

"You've had more gun training than me, you take it." Skye said. "Lets take cover."

Fitz looked a bit nervous at being in charged, but followed Skye's orders regardless as the two of them took cover behind luggage. The door was slammed opened and bullets went flying.

'Fitz!' Skye yelled through the link.

Fitz screamed as he shot the Night-Night gun randomly, thankfully hitting their target.

"What the hell! I thought you said Natasha gave you guys training!" Skye yelled, kicking the guy that was down.

"It was last minute! We had like a week's notice and the pack was content with Jemma and I staying in the labs!" Fitz defended himself.

"Fitz!" Jemma yelled as she ran towards them.

Fitz and Skye turned to look at their friend, running from Cybertek's security. Skye noticed that he was reaching for his belt. Skye quickly grabbed the gun and shot the man several times – missing a few as well – and watched as he collapsed to the ground.

"Oh." Jemma said, clearly shocked. She bent down and picked up the grenade. "This isn't your usual bomb."

"It kinda looks like your Night-Night gun stuff." Skye offered up, staring at the blue liquid inside the grenade.

'Are you kids alright?' May asked them.

'Yeah, where are you?' Skye asked back.

'Had to jump off the train. Was being chased. Ward and Coulson are unconscious on the ground, I don't know what hit them.'

"Leo, let me see." Jemma demanded.

'Lets see?' Fitz asked.

May showed them her view, both Coulson and Ward appeared to be frozen in the movement, eyes wide open.

"It's possible that the grenade holds a more evolved version of the dendrotoxin." Jemma mused, brows furrowed as she turned the bomb in her hand. "I'd have to get back to the plane to run some analysis to check, but I'm 99% sure it's the same formula."

'Does Jemma have any idea on when they might wake up?' May questioned.

Fitz and Skye both looked to Jemma at this, waiting for an answer but Jemma just shook her head. "I wouldn't know. It depends on how they changed the formula, how much they used, when they were hit with it. Too many factors to know, I'm afraid."

"What do we do know?" Skye asked, looking at her more experienced friends.

"We continue the mission?" Fitz replied hesitantly, glancing at Jemma.

"What does May think? Tori's not happy with me continuing without proper field training." Jemma said hesitantly.

"She's keeping track of you?" Skye asked, surprised.

"She doesn't like me being in the field. For a good reason. Fitz and I know the basics of shooting a gun and self-defence, but it's not enough." Jemma said.

"Good point." Skye mumbled.

The three went silent as they attempted to think of the best way out of the mess they were in when the train had slammed on the breaks, knocking all three to the ground.

"Well, this isn't how I imagine the three of us together would go." Jemma quipped from on top of Skye.

"Jemma!" Fitz gasped.

"C'mon Fitz, like you haven't thought of me and Jemma fucking." Skye teased him.

Skye, unfortunately, was on the bottom of the pile with Jemma on top of her. Skye smiled at the other wolf and teasingly pecked her lips, she watched as Fitz – who was on top of Jemma's back – blushed slightly but the look in his eye told Skye everything she needed to know.

She was only teasing but if her friends were down for it, she would never say no.

"Skye, stop teasing Leopold." Jemma admonished her with a smile.

"You two will be the death of me." Fitz grumbled before standing, quickly pulling Jemma to her feet with a quick, but rather possessive looking kiss. He shot Skye a look that clearly said 'mine'. Skye raised her hands in surrender with a smirk.

"Really you two." Jemma sighed. "Behave."

Skye laughed and she pushed herself to her feet. "Relax Fitz, Jemma and I were just bonding."

Winding Fitz up was her new favourite activity.

Jemma rolled her eyes at them, but kept quiet.

"So, train stopped. Now what?" Fitz asked after a moment of silence.

Skye cleared one of the windows and peered out. She did not like what she saw as the Cybertek security were leaving with the package. "Shit. They're leaving with the package!"

"What do we do? We can't follow them!" Fitz protested.

Skye paused. What exactly was stopping them from following them? If they weren't enhanced, Skye would understand the hesitation. "We just follow them, then. We don't engage. This could be our only chance to get Quinn!"

"Tori doesn't want me going." Jemma admitted quietly, not looking Skye in the eye.

"That's okay." She assured her friend. "One of us should stay here anyways, provide a way point for the team. We also need to tie these guys up." She added, kicking the down men again.

'Be careful.' May cautioned, dipping into their heads. 'I don't like how this mission is going – recon only, understood?'

'Yes Ma'am.' The younger wolves replied.

"I guess it's settled." Jemma said, not looking particularly happy with the outcome.

"I can go myself." Skye blurted out. She didn't like how unsure Jemma seemed and didn't like the fact that out of the wolves, Jemma was the only one who didn't have an instant communication with the rest of the team.

"No." Fitz said, shaking his head. "We can't let you go alone."

"It's fine." Skye assured them. She quickly grabbed the gun and made a run for it, not giving them time to argue. "It's recon only!" She called over her shoulder and made a move to follow the SUV's with the package.

She slid the Night-Night gun in the waistband of her jeans and, once she hit the woods alongside the road, she shifted. Skye was forever grateful that they did not have to strip and that FitzSimmons, the geniuses that they were, came up with a material that stretches around them and hold anything in their pockets close to her body.

Skye took a brief moment to enjoy the experience of simply running in her wolf form. The way the wind blew through her hair was just amazing.

'Shifting?' Bobbi asked, sliding into her mates mind.

'The mission is going a little off track. Team's split up, we can't let the package get away.' Skye summarised back.

'Be safe.' Bobbi pleaded, 'I'm not happy with you going into the field like this, you don't have much training.'

'I promise I wont take any unnecessary risks, Bobbi.' Skye promised 'but you know, if I want to be a SHIELD agent, I've got to put myself out there. Take risks.'

'Not like this. Not with the little training that you have.'

'Natasha and Maria showed me the basics' She tried to assure her.

'The basics! In a week! To be used if absolutely need be, Skye.' Bobbi argued.

Skye could feel the worry and fear coming from her mate. It was enough to make her take stock of the situation. Coulson and Ward were out for the count until further notice. May had left them on the train and did not know how long it would be until she could catch up with them. The older wolf had also blocked them out. The team was betrayed by someone and they had no idea who – or was this another play by the Clairvoyant and they were walking into a trap.

'It's a shit situation.' She agreed with her mate. 'I won't do anything stupid, or put myself's in harms way if I can help it, I promise. I just met you, I still need to spend the rest of my life appreciating what fate gave me. Plus I get to see you once this mission is done. All the motivation I need to stay alive.'

'Sap.' Bobbi replied, but Skye could tell that she felt a bit better with Skye's words. 'Keep me updated. Any word from May?'

'Nah, she's blocked us. Dunno why.' Skye shrugged, quickly dodging a tree. She could see the SUV's turn onto a driveway, their destination was probably coming up soon.

'May has a tendency to block people out in order to not distract them by what she's doing. She probably doesn't want you to have any distractions on your recon mission.' Bobbi offered up.

'Make's sense.' Skye nodded, 'I don't think I could deal with everyone in my head right now, especially with the way people like to offer suggestions about what to do. It gets confusing.'

'Noted, I'll let the rest of them know. Check in with me in thirty minutes, okay?' Bobbi requested.

'Of course. Thirty minutes and not a second later. Love you.' Skye chirped back.

'Love you too. Go kick this missions ass.' Bobbi replied

Skye chuckled to herself as she pulled up to the house. She quickly shifted back, adjusting her clothes as she surveyed the area. It appeared to be some sort of mansion, covered with armed guards. The Cybertek security men were taking the package inside.

Skye gritted her teeth as she watched a final SUV pull out and out steps non other than Ian Quinn. She couldn't let him get away again, Coulson wouldn't want this. Neither would May. They would like to get their target and Skye would like to get revenge for being shot. Even with her enhanced healing, it had hurt a like a bitch.

'Skye.' Bobbi broke through her barrier 'Fitz says the rest of the team are at the train and they are on their way to you. Your phone has a tracker on it, you need to activate it so that they can track you.'

'There's a tracker on my phone?' Skye asked with a hint of annoyance. When was a track placed on her phone?

'Uhhh, next question?' Bobbi tried.

Skye scowled to herself 'Does anyone else have a tracker?'

'Of course! It would be unfair for us to only put a tracker on one member. Maria and Natasha occasionally turn theirs off completely for some stuff, but most of the time we can track where you are if it is activated or if we send an activation request and do not receive a response within 48 hours.'

Skye huffed, annoyed that she couldn't be annoyed about it. 'Would have been good to know.'

'Sorry, I was supposed to tell you on your last visit but I got side tracked by your gorgeous body.' Bobbi apologised.

'Flattery will get you everywhere.' Skye replied to her mate, her annoyance drifting away at her comment. She pulled out her phone and saw the activation request from Fitz and quickly accepted. 'Done. I'll check in with you soon.'

'Okay. Good luck with the rest of your mission.' Bobbi responded.

Skye watched the guards for a few more seconds before making a decision. She was going in.

After shooting some guards on the way in and eavesdropping in a conversation, Skye had made her way down to the basement where she would hopefully find the package. She kept her back pressed against the wall and slowly opened the door. Skye was instantly thankful that it was empty minus some containment unit.

She frowned softly as she recognised the sounds of slow breathing and heart beats. She quietly walked over, glancing over her shoulder to make sure that no one was following her. Skye sucked in a breath when she realised who was inside the container.

"Mike." She breathed out.

Skye had to let the team know, she fumbled with her phone as she typed a message out to Coulson. She tried her best to make her text come across as clam but the one too many explanation marks ruined that. Her eyes ran over Mike as she took him in, he looked terrible. His body was covered in burns and he appeared to be missing his leg.

But he was alive. She could take him home to Ace and the young boy could have his father back.

"Hello, Skye."

Skye instantly turned around, levelling her gun at Quinn. She tried her best to not shake as she stared at him again. "Quinn."

He gave her a sarcastic smile, "so lovely to meet you again. Now, if you don't want your friend here to die, I suggest you hand the gun over to me."

Skye did not hesitate to hand the gun over. Her team was on the way and she had the backup of the pack in case anything went wrong. Plus her basic training, surely Quinn would not even know the first thing about self defence? Her main goal here was to grab the package and get Mike back to his son.

Quinn looked over the gun with a small amount on interest. "I've heard so much about the amazing FitzSimmons duo. Those cadets at the academy were just singing their praises when I talked to them about their ice machine. Pity that one kid died, we could have used talent like that."

"Don't talk about those kids." Skye snapped, "you manipulated them and it resulted the death of Seth. Do you even feel any remorse?"

Quinn snapped his fingers, "that's his name! Seth!" He let out a low chuckle, "I was trying to remember his name but for the life of me I could not figure it out. Poor Seth, not the brightest out of the two but he had the confidence to get Donnie to create what I wanted. It was his own fault he died, Skye, he flew too close to the sun. Still, Donnie is within my reach..." he mused towards the end.

"You leave him alone." She snarled. How could he be so uncaring of how he ruined two lives?

"Skye, those kids were already heading down a dark path. I just gave them a gentle push of encouragement. No more that what Coulson did for you to start your own journey on the path of righteousness. If you consider SHIELD the good guys." He remarked nonchalantly, wondering over to the containment unit that held Mike.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Skye quizzed him, keeping Quinn in her sights.

Quinn gave her a secretive smile. "That's for me to know, and you to find out. I'm sure someone on your team knows what I'm talking about?"

Skye filed that piece of information away for later. It might be of use for Maria's investigation into whatever it was she was looking at. Right now she had to focus on what was happening.

"I think it's time to wake up our dear friend here, don't you think?" Quinn asked her mockingly. He fiddled with the chamber and it opened with a hiss. As soon as the gurney holding Mike slid out, he woke.

"Mike." Skye whispered, staring him up and down. A feeling of dread settled in her as she finally got a good look at him. "What happened to you?"

Mike ignored her instead focusing his gaze on Quinn. Something wasn't right, Mike appeared to be gritting his teeth as he stared at Quinn, but made no effort to hurt him.

"You have your orders?" Quinn asked him, looking at Mike carefully.

Mike simply nodded in response.

Orders? Skye was confused by that, why would Mike follow Quinn's orders...unless... She hissed as she considered the implications, thinking back to an old mission featuring Coulson's old protegee, Akela Amador and the eye implant. Could Mike have the implant giving him orders?

"Excellent!" Cheered Quinn, the first genuine smile on his face. "Especially since I went through the trouble of purchasing you something to help complete your orders."

Finally, Skye would see what the package was. She watched on silently as Quinn talked at Mike about his orders and the package. Skye did her best to hide her surprise when the package turned out to be a prosthetic leg for Mike, which the Cybertek security guy – Mancini – helped fit. Through out the entire talk, Mike never looked at her and Skye could barely move from how stunned she was with this situation.

"Thank you Mancini, you'll receive your payment shortly" Quinn dismissed without looking at him. He seemed to be in awe of the prosthetic leg.

"Mike! How does it feel? Top of the line, that is." Quinn cheerily informed him. Quinn lifted a gun and levelled it at Mike. "However, I do wonder if I am getting my money's worth. If I tried to hurt you, would hurt me? No? Well, what if I asked you to hurt her?" Quinn continued, not dropping his happy demeanour.

Mike did not appear to share his enthusiasm. He stared at Quinn hard and if looks could kill, Quinn would be dead ten times over. "Those are not my orders."

"Mike, c'mon. We need to get out of here." Skye was shocked to hear her voice shake. Seeing Quinn with a gun brought back unpleasant memories. Whilst she was able to recover relatively quickly from the wound, she knew that it did not have the same impact of a real gun shot wound.

Simmons had told her that by substituting the gun material for silver and the way it was designed to shatter on impact, it lost a lot of the power behind it. Which was lucky for them since the pain would be relatively minimal and healing would be fast enough. She was never in any real danger with that type of bullet.

It still hurt though. She still remembered the panic of being shot. Skye did not want to experience that again.

"Are you sure? I mean, think of how it would hurt Agent Coulson! Losing his little experimental pet project. I'm sure he would be devastated." Quinn insisted.

"Not my orders. She's not the person I need to kill." Mike repeated and walked out.

"Mike!" Skye called after him, moving towards the door. "What the hell did you do to him?!" She heard the clicked as she started to turn around and felt fear snake down her spine. She got a glimpse of his face and saw the face of a man who did not want to get his hands dirty, but was being forced to.

'Bobbi' Skye cried out automatically, she felt Bobbi slip into her mind at the sheer fear she felt.

'Skye?!' Bobbi screamed back at her.

Quinn shot her from a distance and at first, she felt nothing but the sheer shock that he actually pulled the trigger. Her stomach felt suspiciously wet and her hand automatically ran over the fabric. She knew it was blood, what else would it be? But that knowledge did not stop her from raising her hand to check what the wet substance was.

Skye stared at her hand in shock and felt her knees start to shake.

'Skye, baby, run!' Bobbi screamed at her.

"Bobbi." She mumbled, frozen to her spot. She stared at her hand in wonder, how could she produce so much blood? You never really think of how much blood you have until you are watching it pour out of you.

"It really is such a shame to lose talent like you, but I have my orders." Quinn murmured, suddenly close to her.

"Wha-" Skye didn't finish her sentence as another bullet lodged itself in her stomach. She gasped out in pain, tears freeing themselves from her eyes. Skye lost control of her legs, they had started to feel numb. Her mouth was starting to fill with so much saliva.

Was she going to be sick? Skye knew that your mouth filled with excess amount of saliva right before you were sick to help protect your throat from stomach acid contained in the sick. Skye always used it as a good indicator of when she would be sick after drinking too much.

"Shhh." Quinn cooed, he had wrapped his arms around Skye and slowly lowered her to the ground. "It will be over soon enough."

Quinn stood back up, his body now blurry and he cleaned his gun. He spared her once last glance before walking away.

Skye whimpered and tried to cry out but she was met with silence. The heartbeats that used to sit comfortably close to her own heart were gone, along with the gently buzzing of multiple thoughts. Where were her pack? She didn't want to die alone.

"Bobbi." She chocked out, struggling for breath now. Some of the excess saliva finally left her mouth. Skye shakily wiped it away and cried out when she saw that she was wiping away blood, not saliva. Her mouth was filling up with blood – her lungs were filling up with blood. She was suffocating on her own blood.

She did not want to die.

"Maria?" She tried, where were her pack? She needed them. They had been there through everything and now she was dying, they were bailing? "May?"

'...S-...Skye.'

Skye lifted her head at the voice. Maria was near by! Maria would fix everything. She would have Bobbi, Natasha and May and they would make it better. They would make her feel better and then they would all order in and watched a movie. Lots of cuddles.

Skye missed pack cuddles. It was her favourite activity when she was with the pack. She should spend more time with them. Coulson would understand, how could he not? Well, he wasn't a wolf, he didn't have the mental connection that went beyond friendship and went beyond family. Not quiet soulmate level but it was very close.

Skye really needed to spend more time with them. Especially Clint and Izzy, she has barely gotten to know them. Maria needs hugged because she always seemed to have this wary, sad look in her eyes. It only really went away when she was with Natasha or Sharon, but their job recently prevent Maria from being with them.

'Skye, sweetheart. Everything's going to be okay. May's almost there. She's gonna help make things better,' Maria tried to soothe her.

Skye could hear the strain in her thoughts – was Maria was feeling her pain?

'Bobbi. Where's, where... Bobbi...' She wanted her soulmate. She wanted to be in her arms and pretend everything was okay. She needed everything to be okay. She just got her family, her soulmate. She needed everything to be okay!

'Shhh, it's okay. Bobbi's here, she's just... in a bit of pain with you. Let me just...' Maria trailed off, clearly concentrating for a second before Skye felt a rush of love and pain.

Skye whimpered as she felt her soulmate nestle into her side, vaguely aware that Maria was engulfing them.

'Bobbi... I love you.' Skye managed to think. Everything was starting to feel weird. Each breath was getting harder and harder to take and the blood. Oh God, there was so much blood around her, why wasn't she healing?

'Skye, don't worry about it. We'll figure this out – we'll get to the bottom of this. Ian Quinn will pay for what he has done to you.' Maria vowed with a growl. The possessive love and protectiveness surged through the mental link between them.

'I love you.' Skye told them, letting her head rest against the ground. It was cold. She didn't really like the cold but it helped soothe her headache. 'I think I'm going to nap.'

She could hear both Bobbi and Maria scream at her, begging her to stay awake. She noted that Bobbi was struggling to think properly. She could vaguely feel Bobbi's heartbeat, next to hers. It was failing.

'N...o, Bobb...i...'

Bobbi's heart stopped beating.

Skye fell limp against the ground.

Maria was in a meeting with Nick, Peggy and the other Alphas. Natasha was lounging in her chair and would occasionally send thoughts of last night activities to annoy her. Maria was doing her best to ignore the Alpha.

They were currently discussing ongoing and upcoming missions that would require the packs. Recently, there seemed to be an increase in missions that would be benefit from having a pack member work it which was causing Maria to frown.

She wasn't sure if it was her paranoia coming into play but the knowledge that there was a bad seed within their ranks, the use of silver guns and the increase of missions requiring the wolves seemed to be too much of a coincidence.

Which was why she was presenting a powerpoint with statics on the matter, leaving out the information regarding potential bad seed problem.

"Seems a bit of a stretch, don't you think?" Tobias asked.

Maria did not like him. She thought he was rather incompetent and was a poor choice for an alpha. However, he had seemed great on paper and his missions went well, so Fury wanted him on the project. Maria wanted to suffocate him for being an annoying prat.

Natasha raised an eyebrow at her rather violent thoughts, but the smirk on her face assured Maria that the Alpha would be on board with the murdering of Tobias. Good.

Maria decided not to kill him, but instead roll her eyes at him. "Tobias, you really need to star-"

Maria cried out suddenly as an intense pain started growing from her stomach. Her hands automatically went to her stomach and tried searching for the pain. In the background, she could vaguely hear Natasha groaning in pain.

"What's going on?" Fury rumbled, looking between his two best agents.

"Someones been shot." Maria rasped out as she placed the familiar feeling. "They aren't healing – who's' been shot?"

She felt Peggy enter her mind, searching for the pack member who had been shot. It was Skye. Maria whimpered as she realised their youngest member was seriously injured – again. Peggy went to cut their bond off, having already cut off Melinda and Fitz when Maria protested.

"One of us should be with her. Bobbi?" She gasped, leaning against the wall.

"Bobbi is with Izzy. I've blocked everyone minus you and Bobbi." Peggy explained, grabbing Maria and guided her into a chair.

"Shit." Maria swore, "this real-"

A second wave of pain went through her, almost enough to knock her unconscious. Skye had been shot, twice. Oh God. She tried contacting the young wolf as her awareness slowly started to fade.

'Skye! Skye!' she tried calling desperately. She had to get in contact with the little wolf, she could feel Skye's despair, her pain and her fear of dying alone. She had to reassure Skye that she was not alone, that Maria was right here and would not leave her.

Skye's joy at hearing Maria's voice made her heart swell but was quickly shattered when she realised that Skye thought she was near by. That she had Bobbi, Natasha and May with her and that they would fix the pain. Maria chocked back a sob at the fact that she could not be with her. She needed to get to the younger wolf. Needed to get there now.

Maria attempted to get out of her chair, but to no avail. Her limbs weren't co-operating and she fell back down. She settled for trying to reassure Skye.

'Skye, sweetheart. Everything's going to be okay. May's almost there. She's gonna help make things better.'

'Bobbi. Where's, where... Bobbi...' Skye croaked back.

That was a good question, where was Bobbi? Was the other wolf having difficulties using the link whilst in intense pain?

"Bobbi?" Maria grunted out, hoping that Natasha or Peggy would understand.

"Bobbi's having a hard time concentrating and... and her bond to Skye is fading." Natasha was suddenly next to her. Or had she been there the whole time? It was honestly starting to feel like she was the one who had been shot, not Skye.

"Maria, Skye is dying. Her soulmate link is fading, the pack link will probably go next. You need to get Bobbi." Natasha urged, her hand gripping Maria's tightly. Maria understood the instruction, she had to open up the link, forcibly, between Skye and Bobbi – which took a lot of effort but she did it anyways. The two soulmates deserved to be near each other.

'Shhh, it's okay. Bobbi's here, she's just... in a bit of pain with you. Let me just...' Maria quickly opened the link and groaned when she felt Bobbi's pain. This was not good, this would be worse for Skye. The two soulmates would be stuck in a feedback lop of pain and Maria would be on the receiving end of it as well.

Maria listened to the two soulmates talks, trying her best to stay awake and check in on Sharon. Peggy may have cut the pack link off, but the Alpha had no control of soulmate links and no doubt Sharon would be feeling the same pain as Maria.

Skye was starting to panic and fade out more. Maria had to reassure her and keep her conscious.

'Skye, don't worry about it. We'll figure this out – we'll get to the bottom of this. Ian Quinn will pay for what he has done to you.' She growled.

Skye didn't seemed to understand what she was saying and instead told Bobbi that she loved her.

'I think I'm going to nap.' Skye mumbled to them.

Shit. Shit shit shit. Bobbi was fading fast, so was Skye. Crap, no.

'N...o, Bobb...i...'

Maria screamed as she felt Skye's heart slowly give out. "No, Skye!"

Suddenly, the connection was cut. Maria jolted upright, the lingering feeling of pain was still there and sweat was dripping down her face. She looked over at the other occupants in the room before promptly passing out.

Sharon smiled at her neighbours as she returned from her undercover job as a doctor. Her current undercover assignment was to essentially babysit Captain America and watch how he adjusted to his new life. The assignment was simple enough in the fact that she had to appear as an ordinary citizen, which meant she got to continue her training as a doctor. Last year she took her board exams and was now in her final two years of studying as an attending.

She climbed the stairs to her apartment, using it as part of her daily exercise as she mentally went over how her day went and when she next planned on 'accidentally' bumping into her neighbour Steve Rogers.

Her Aunt had been hesitant to put her on this mission, but it made more sense to have her on this mission over anyone else. She had grown up hearing stories about Steve, learning what he was really like so she would be able to tell how he was adjusting better than anyone else. She also had the added advantage of being enhanced which meant she could keep up with him if he decided to disappear and could fight off anyone trying to get to him.

"Hey neighbour."

Oh, turns out she was going to meet Steve earlier than she thought. "Hey stranger, long time no see. How've you been?"

Steve gave her a shrug along with a polite smile. "Oh you know, getting on with life."

"No Avenger emergency?" She teased her, leaning against the wall.

"Somehow I was hoping no one would know I was Captain America." He admitted to her.

"Everyone here knows it, it's part of our weekly gossip sessions." Sharon joked. "Don't worry about it Steve, everyone here knows you just want to live a quiet life. These people are good at keeping it to themselves." And if they didn't, SHILED made sure to get rid of them. They couldn't have people upsetting the good Captain and potentially driving him away – according to Fury that is.

"You have weekly gossip sessions? You don't seem like the type." Steve joked back with her.

Sharon let out a laugh, Tony really had no idea what he was talking about when he complained about the boring Captain. He just needed to talk to the guy more.

Sharon fond herself on the ground suddenly and was gasping in pain. What the fuck? Had someone in the pack been shot? Who the hell had been shot! She quickly expanded her mind, in search of her pack mates, looking for an answer but didn't find one.

Instead, she felt a blanket over her mind, blocking her off from a specific member but it did nothing to ease the pain. Who was she blocked off from? Trying to ignore the pain she felt, she quickly searched her links and realised it was Skye. Had Skye been shot? But that didn't explain the pain she felt.

"Maria?" Sharon whimpered aloud, her fingers curling against the floor as she desperately tried to reach her mate.

'Sharon, sweetheart. Skye's been shot, Maria is staying connected to her to make sure she isn't alone. It's bad.' Her Aunt quickly explained as she entered her mind.

'No shit.' Sharon swore back as pain engulfed her.

'Please tell me you're in your apartment.' Peggy begged her.

'Nope, fucking hit the deck with Steve Rogers watching me.'

A second wave of pain hit her, causing her to cry out again. Nearly screaming. She curled up in herself. What kind of mission was Skye one? Who let her go into a dangerous situation like this without a god damn Kevlar vest on!

'Shit,' her Aunt swore. It must be bad if her Aunt was swearing. 'Fuck. This is bad.'

"Kate? Kate! Kate I need you to talk to me." Steve urged her having knelled down. Sharon had allowed her Aunt full access to her mind so that she could see what was going on.

'Call Maria and give him your phone.' Peggy instructed her.

Sharon didn't question her aunt and did as she asked, struggling to move and see the numbers on her phone. She had only managed to unlock her phone before handing it to Steve.

"Call...call...Maria." She rasped out, hoping that he'd understand. Thankfully he took the phone off her and she heard the ringing. God, she need her soulmate.

'Maria?' She attempted again but there was no answer. Her mate must be focused on keeping Skye calm.

"...Romanoff?"

Fuck. Well, there goes her undercover mission. Sharon lifted her head to see Steve shocked and betrayed expression. She didn't have too much time to dwell on it as she felt herself slowly start to lose her grip on her consciousness.

'Maria.'

Bobbi and Izzy were currently in the Triskellion pack base. The two of them had been debrief by Fury the other day and were now waiting for Skye's mission to finish before the two met up with May, Skye and Fitz. When Izzy heard that Bobbi was going to visit Skye, she had decided to tag along, stating that it had been too long since she had seen the youngest wolves and that she wanted to check in with Jemma.

Bobbi had joking stated that Jemma was Victoria's favourite pack member and Izzy had agreed without hesitation. Which was interesting, she wondered if the favouritism was so blatant to the other members of Victoria's pack or if they favoured Jemma as well.

Bobbi and Izzy had been relaxing when she heard Skye cry out for her and it wasn't long after that the first wave of pain had hit them. Izzy, thankfully, seemed to recover from the feeling of being shot much faster than she had.

Bobbi was sprawled out on the couch, digging her face into the cushions as she attempted to enter Skye's mind but it was proving too difficult for her. Within seconds of being shot, their soulbond had begun to fade and filled Bobbi with horror as she realised Skye's body had not started the healing process.

"Skye." She mumbled, trying to focus enough on either the soulbond or the pack link to comfort her soulmate.

"Bobbi, it's going to be okay. May's almost with Skye. They are going to help her." Izzy tried to sooth her, but Bobbi just ignored her, trying to focus on speaking with Skye.

A second wave of pain washed over her and she sobbed at the realisation that her soulmate was shot for a second time, at a much closer range based on the intense pain she was feeling. She grabbed desperately at her link with the pack, trying to get in contact with Skye but her stupid brain was just not working! Why couldn't she reach Skye! She needed to be there for her!

Suddenly, she felt Maria enter her mind and forcibly pull her into someone else minds – Skye's mind. She whimpered in relief, thanking the beta as she nestled against Skye's side, sending love through the bond.

'Bobbi... I love you.' Skye managed to think, but Bobbi could tell it was a struggle for her and simply sent her more love through the bond.

'I love you.' Skye told them. 'I think I'm going to nap.'

Bobbi screamed at her soulmate, 'No... Skye st-st-stay awake... Please, please, please stay aw-awake. Don't don't don't go to sleep.' Bobbi thought disjointly. It was getting harder and harder to think, to keep her thoughts straight.

It felt like she was dying.

'N...o, Bobb...i...'

Bobbi's heart stopped beating.
