DISCLAIMER: I do not own JoJo's bizarre adventure or Rising of the shield hero

"DIO. What happened?"

"We fought. I was able to incapacitate him, but he is badly injured."

Eclair jumped to the building DIO was on and examined Jouta's injuries.

"I'm just happy you didn't kill him."

Eclair took Jouta from DIO's arms and turned around to walk away, but stopped and looked back at DIO.

"Are you sure you want to confront the soilders, you could just run away?"

"Aren't you a noble? There is no honor in running away, is there? Besides, it will shift their attention from you to me."

Eclair froze, trying to make sure she properly heard what DIO just said. Somehow, he figured out her entire situation in less than an hour. Eclair turned away from DIO and smiled.

"You're a very peculiar individual, DIO. Is your previous offer still available?"

"For the great Eclair Seaetto. Always."

"Thank you."

Eclair charged up her magical energy and seemingly disappeared, leaving a powerful shockwave.

"Hmm. Eclair Seaetto."

Once the soilders approached the area DIO and Jouta were fighting in. The soilders started to feel a heavy cloud of death looming above them. One of them looked to the roof of one of the buildings, he felt the most fear he had ever felt in his life. At the top of the roof stood DIO, appearing like a supernatural evil. The men froze and stared at the being above them. Despite their fear, they pushed forward.

"So you choose death?"

The men stopped a few meters away from the building, sweating bullets. Then DIO seemingly teleported behind the group. One of the men turned around and came face-to-face with DIO. DIO threw a punch at the man but stopped by a hair's breadth.

"Don't worry, I need you to send a message to the king. That I, DIO, am going to overthrow him and rule this land."

The guard simply nodded and DIO turned around to walk away.

"Oh, and by the way, your friends aren't dead."

DIO then vanished into thin air. The guard turned back around, only to find that his entire group was knocked out.

One hour later

"JoJo! JOJO! JOOOJO!

Is what Jouta heard as he awoke, opening his eyes to see Eclair kneeling beside him. Jouta then remembered what happened before he blacked out and shouted.

"DIO! WHERE'S DIO!"

Jouta sat up quickly—which hurt like hell—to see he was in a room, lying on the floor while there was a nice large bed right there!

"JoJo, relax. You were extremely hurt. So be careful."

"Eclair. Where are we?"

"DIO's room at an inn."

"DIO?!"

"Yes, DIO. Could you stop shouting? He told me to bring you here to tend to your wounds."

"Are we talking about the same DIO. I should be dead."

"But you aren't."

"And that's the problem!"

Jouta stood up and summoned his stand.

"He probably wants to infect me with a flesh bud or read my mind!"

"Then why would he leave you with me. You know mind control doesn't affect me, so why would he trust me to watch over you?"

"I'm... not sure, but there must be a catch."

Eclair stood up and placed her hand on Jouta's shoulder.

"There is something you should know before you try to kill DIO."

Jouta calmed down and de-summoned CHARMY GREEN.

"He recently lost his memories."

Jouta made a wide-eyed expression and sat down on DIO's bed. Eclair was about to sit down next to him and he shouted.

"WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN!"

Eclair was going to answer until...

"Just yesterday morning."

Jouta and Eclair looked up at the ceiling to where they heard the voice come from.

"I awoke in a grass field, with no memory as to how I got there."

DIO was on the ceiling, reading the book he and Eclair found at the library.

"Apologies for being late, I had to recover this. It is surprisingly durable, nearly unscathed from being buried under a building, and was quite difficult to find."

Jouta stood up quickly, instinctively summoning his stand.

"Jouta, please, that is not necessary. I don't intend to be your enemy. I simply want to talk."

DIO closed his book and threw it on his bed. He then walked down a wall and up to Jouta, taking hold of his hand.

"I'm sorry for what happened earlier, I shouldn't have been so eager to fight. And if you truly see me as an enemy, you can kill me right now."

Jouta considered it for a while, but eventually decided to at least listen to what DIO has to say, absorbing his stand back into his body.

"Thank you. Now, I would like to ask a few questions."

"Uhh...sure."

"Let us begin."

DIO let go of Jouta's hand and stopped time. DIO began hovering above the ground in a crossed-legged seated position.

"Why the hell did you do that?"

"I simply thought you would want some privacy. I am not saying I don't trust Eclair; I just wouldn't like us to be interrupted by her. Once everything is sorted, we can simply explain everything to her later."

DIO explained. Jouta floated as well, crossed his legs and leaned back with his arms behind his head.

"Good grief. I guess so. Okay, first question?"

"What is my full name."

"According to what my great-grandfather told me, your full name was Dio Brando, but you later changed it to just 'DIO'."

"Why?"

"I have no clue. Something about your childhood. I think."

"Who is Jotaro Kujo?"

Jouta scowled at the mention of that name and looked away, his hat covering his eyes.

"My father."

"How do I know him."

"You fought him ten years ago."

"Why?"

"You are an evil, narcissistic, time-stopping vampire that almost killed his mother."

"Oh..."

DIO was a bit saddened by how Jouta said that with so much resentment. But he quickly recovered and asked his next question.

"How did I become a vampire?"

"Easy. The stone mask. A relic created by a scientist from an ancient race known as the 'Pillar men'. It uses large spikes to pierce the wearer's brain, unlocking the body's true potential."

"How did I acquire this 'stone mask'?"

"I'm not sure. It was during a fight with my great ancestor and your brother, Jonathan Joestar."

"My brother?"

"Adoptive brother. Around a hundred years ago, you were adopted into the Joestar family after both your parents died."

"And my stand?"

"You got your stand by stabbing yourself with the Stand arrow after you killed Jonathan, an old hag sold it to you. And you planned to rule the world, so the Joestars stopped you."

"How did I and your family become enemies?"

"You always planned to kill them to inherit the family fortune, but Jonathan stopped you. As a last resort, you put on the stone mask, turning you into a vampire, but Jonathan still beat you, using the power of Hamon."

"Hamon?"

"The yellow electricity I was using earlier. It's an ancient breathing technique that utilizes the power of sunlight. I learned it by seeing my great-grandfather use it."

"You learned it just by seeing him do it?"

"I'm a pretty fast learner. I finished school when I was nine years old."

"That's quite impressive, how old are you now?"

"Ten."

"..."

"..."

"How old am I?"

"One hundred and thirty."

"..."

"Next question?"

"Do I have any children?"

"Yes. Though I haven't met any of them, I've heard there are a lot of them."

"Oh. I hope they are well."

Jouta couldn't recognize the man before him. Someone who is caring for others and doesn't see the need to kill or manipulate people. Perhaps this is how DIO would have been without his past life experiences.

"Jouta. Time is soon to resume. So I think I'll ask one more question."

"What is it?"

"Do you have any idea how we got here or how we get back?"

"I wish I did. But, I know that when I got here a stand user, with time powers, activated his ability at the same time as mine, which probably caused a tear in reality or some shit like that."

"I think that's enough for now. I appreciate your patience."

"Glad to help, I guess."

DIO placed his feet back on the floor and stood up straight before facing his back to Jouta, looking over his shoulder at him.

"Oh. And Jouta."

"Hm?"

"Zero."

As DIO said that time resumed, causing Jouta to fall on the floor with a loud thud.

"You bastard! You never change, do you!?"

DIO laughed and walked over to the door. And Eclair, who had been frozen till now, looked at the scene unfold in confusion.

"Wait DIO! How did you and Jouta do that?!"

"Do what?"

DIO and Jouta asked at the same time.

"You teleported to a different position, but somehow moved in between that time. No magic can do that."

"Eclair, it's not magic."

"It's STAND POWER!"

DIO just randomly shouted, which confused Jouta and Eclair.

"Sorry. It felt appropriate. But, anyway, if you want to know more about my stand you could just ask THE WORLD.

"THE WORLD? Is that your stand?"

"Indeed. He would be delighted to answer your questions."

"DIO! What are you doing? I never agreed to this and do you want her to know all your abilities."

"It would allow us to work together better in the future."

"Do you truly trust her that much?"

"She gave me her full name and was going to save me from the guards, which in both cases, reveal her identity and risked exposure, the least I could do is tell her. Besides, she's a noble knight, which could aid us in finding my book."

"You may have a point. But, DIO, I am your stand, I know your true intentions and emotions and that is not the only reason you trust this woman."

"You're right, but that does not negate my previous points."

"Well, I presume you are right on that."

THE WORLD appeared before Eclair.

"Hello, miss Seaetto, I am THE WORLD, here to educate you on me and stands in general. May we begin?"

"..."

"Okay then. It all began five hundred thousand years ago..."

THE WORLD explained the origins and rules of stands. It explained its own properties and abilities, including time-stop.

"WHAT!"

Eclair shouted in disbelief; DIO could stop time and Jouta could move within the stopped time, which lasts one second. Jouta and DIO chuckled at her outburst.

"Speaking of stands, DIO, do you still have THE PASSION?"

"THE PASSION?"

"Oh, I forgot to mention, when you killed Jonathan, you stole his body. And once you stabbed yourself with the Stand arrow, you gained THE WORLD, and Jonathan's body got THE PASSION."

"Really? How do I call forth THE PASSION?"

"Don't know. Just assumed you would have discovered it by now."

DIO looked at his hand and wondered what he could do with multiple stands, but shrugged it off, needing to focus on his current objective.

"Jouta! Eclair!"

"Hm?"

Both turned to DIO.

"I'm going to need your help."

"With what?"

"Taking over Melromarc."
