In the past, Ymir had never imagined that she would be living on a farm within the interior of wall Sina. Because of the power of titans, one could assume that his was the safest place on earth. However, anyone who knew anything about how the rest of the globe viewed Eldians, would know that it was only a matter of time before this place would be destroyed. The people of the walls would be killed mercilessly and the only person who could do anything about it, had no intention of intervening.

Despite that, it seemed that there was some future for the two people that she had been assigned to protect and the freckled girl was actually a little anxious to meet them. A boy and a girl, both at the age of ten, who knew nothing about the outside world.

'Why did I even agree to this' Ymir thought as she looked out the window of the carriage 'I could've put up a nice fight and go down in a blaze of glory…'

Suddenly, the horses stopped.

"We're here" Frieda spoke as she opened the door to step out.

The freckled girl sighed and followed her new superior. The land looked really nice. As the harvesting season came, peasants were working intensively with getting as much grain as they could. The cropped stems of wheat were slowly withering, giving the fields a beautiful golden colour.

"Hey!" The dark-haired woman shouted towards one of the people, working in the distance "Eren!"

The person turned around and waved his hand. As he started approaching them, Ymir could see more of him. He was a young kid with dark hair and a pretty physiognomy. She could see that he was tanned, probably due to all the work that he was doing in the field.

"Welcome back, Frieda!" He greeted the woman.

Then, Eren took off his straw hat and looked at her. There was something weird in his eyes as he was watching her. For a small second, she somehow felt smaller.

"Hello" the boy said with apprehension as he held his hand out "I'm Eren."

"Ymir…" she responded, taking his hand.

"Ymir is going to be your new friend, Eren!" Frieda exclaimed with a wide smile "where is Historia?"

"She's in the pasture" the boy responded, not taking his eyes off the freckled girl.

"Alright" the woman said as she turned around "I'll go and get her, you two, get acquainted."

As Frieda departed, Ymir was getting more and more anxious. She was never left alone with a guy like this. The girl wasn't sure but being around boys simply felt weird and out of character for her.

"You're tall" the boy said as he looked her over.

Ymir rolled her eyes.

"Yea that's pretty obvious" she said "you, on the other hand are just a little squirt."

"Don't call me that!" he yelled with annoyance "I'm way stronger than you!"

'What are you, stupid?' The freckled girl thought with a snort.

"I'll be the judge of that" she said.

Before the boy could register anything, he was face down on the ground with Ymir sitting on his back.

"Didn't even break a sweat" the girl said, trying to rub it in.

"Shut up!" Eren grunted painfully.

"You literally have no idea on how to talk to girls, do you?" She asked mockingly.

"You don't even seem like one!"

A vein popped on Ymir's forehead. How dare he say that she wasn't girly?

"Listen, you brat…"

Suddenly, everything spun around her. Before she could comprehend what was happening, the girl was already pinned to the ground.

"Don't underestimate me" Eren spoke with a small smile.

His face was hovering just a few inches away from hers. For some weird reason, Ymir could feel her cheeks starting to heat up.

'What's wrong with me?' She asked herself 'he's just a stupid brat.'

"Hey!"

The two of them turned to look towards the shout.

Frieda was slowly walking over to them, along with a blonde girl, who was holding a shepherd's crook.

This has been the most beautiful girl that she had seen in her entire life.

Everything about her was perfect. Her frame, her golden hair, the way she walked, they way she was angrily looking at her…

'Right, it'd be better if I wasn't underneath this idiot anyway' the freckled girl thought as she tried to prop herself up.

Unfortunately for her, she did it at the exact same moment that Eren decided to look down again.

The time stopped as that weird feeling from earlier spread all over her body. It was numbing her senses and her consciousness seemed to be slipping away. Ymir had never felt like this before. Emotions were buzzing within her and for a moment, she lost control.

Her childhood in poverty, her life in the cult, all the torment that she had to bear with… Sixty years of the horrible slumber within a titan's body…

She wasn't an adult. She was barely a teenager and yet, she was already feeling tired with everything that she had been through.

And so, she grabbed onto Eren's shirt, deepening this accidental kiss.

Suddenly all senses came back to her.

"Eww!" She cried out as she pushed him off.

"My, my" Frieda said with a hint of laugh in her voice "I told you two to get friendly, but never expected it to happen so fast…"

"What did you do to Eren?!" the blonde yelled at her as she ran up to her friend.

"It was his fault…"

"My fault?" the boy cried out, jolting up "you started all this!"

"If you hadn't been feeling so comfortable pinning me down none of this would've ever happened!"

"Alright, stop!" Frieda yelled, instantly ending the argument "this is Historia, my little sister."

Ymir looked over the blonde perfection. It seemed that she had stepped onto the girl's territory, with that kiss. Historia was visibly frowning, constantly looking between her and Eren.

"It was an accident, okay?" Ymir spoke with resignation "I'm sorry…"

"Yeah, me too" the boy said, looking down.

At that, the blonde's expression softened, and she held her hand out.

"Historia" the girl said, trying to muster up a smile.

"Ymir."

As the two girls were shaking hands, Frieda sighed out.

"Ymir will be staying with you, from now on" the woman spoke "just be friendly with each other, okay?"

"Okay" Eren and Historia responded.

"Alright" Frieda exclaimed with a smile as she started walking back to the carriage "see you later!"

With her superior gone, Ymir was wondering if this could've started any worse. She wouldn't be surprised if the two kids thought of her as an intruder.

Slowly, Eren walked up to her.

"I'm sorry for telling you that you're not girly" the boy said shyly, trying to avert her gaze.

She wasn't really angry at him. After all, he was just a kid. An orphan, like her…

"It's alright" Ymir responded, putting her hand on his scalp "you know you're actually pretty cute…"

That brought crimson to Eren's cheeks. The freckled girl just couldn't help herself when she encountered a pretty face, even though he was a boy.

"You finished?" She heard Historia ask.

Ymir turned to look at the pouting girl. The way she was doing this was actually mesmerizing.

"Don't worry, princess, I'm not taking your friend away" Ymir said, trying to look nice.

That seemed to have chilled the blonde girl down and after a few seconds, she decided to just drop the case.

"Alright" Historia exclaimed "let me show you where you'll be sleeping…"
