Hello everyone, here is another one shot
This is a bit on Ace's diary
Hope you enjoy
Read and relax
Marco sat at a table with a few of the other commanders and Ace, playing some cards. They had just finished a game, and Ace was going to deal this time and was shuffling the cards, but Izou had gotten his attention, and Ace gave a chuckle at something Izou said, before he gave a response, stopping the shuffling as he did. Everyone did let the two talk for a minute, before the conversation was over, and when it was, Ace looked at everyone, seeming to be in a good mood, which was good. Marco then held a hand out. "Ace, the cards." Ace blinked, before he frowned. "Cards? What cards?" Marco sighed internally, before he motioned to Ace's hands. "You're holding our cards." Ace blinked again as he looked down, seeing the cards and looked shocked. "Oh, I'm holding cards." Ace then looked up at him with a frown. "Why am I holding cards?" Marco gave a supporting look. "Because you're shuffling them. We're playing a game, yoi." Ace nodded. "Okay, I can do that." Ace then went back to shuffling, and when he was done, he looked the people at the table over, counting them, before he used a few seconds to figure out how many cards he needed, before he sighed, looking at him. "I can't do math today." Marco gave a comforting smile, a hand moving to Ace's leg. "It's fine. 54 cards, yoi." Ace still couldn't do math, but it was fine. When he did count and laid the cards down, he had issues with every time he went into a new ten, confused as to what came after the 9. He must be having a hard day. He had been doing great the last few days, so it was a thing coming.
The card game itself went by fine, and when they were done, Ace gave a look to him. "I feel tired, so I think I'll go lay down for a bit." Marco nodded. "Sure, go do that, yoi." Ace nodded and stood up and headed out of the galley. When he was gone, Izou sighed beside him. "I always feel so bad for him. He's been doing so great the last few days, I always get my hopes up." Marco got it, he did. It was hard for them too, to see Ace like this. Having issues with minor things. "I know, but Azuruko said some permanent damage would be common, today is probably a bad day for him, yoi. I'll check on him in an hour." Izou nodded, same with the others at the table, who seemed to be worried for Ace. Marco would be sure to check on him later. They then continued the card game, playing a few rounds, before Marco said he would check on Ace, heading to do that.
So when he was outside Ace's door, he knocked carefully, in case Ace was asleep. "Come in!" He heard from the other side, and opened the door, finding Ace sitting in his bed, diary in front of him. "Oh, Marco. Hi. What are you doing here?" Marco chuckled. "I wanted to check on you, yoi." Ace gave a sheepish smile. "I get it, after the card game. I'm not having the best day." Marco was glad Ace saw that himself, that today was hard. Ace then motioned to the bed. "Want to see my diary?" Marco blinked. Ace was asking him to look? "Are you sure, yoi?" He didn't want to impose. Ace nodded. "Yeah, I want to show it." Marco nodded and moved to sit down on the bed, Ace moving the diary to show him it, showing the last input, seeming to be just now, the card game they had, saying in it he had issues counting and remembering the cards names, which were clubs, diamonds, hearts, and spades, Ace writing the names down. He didn't know Ace had issues with that. But he would remember it. But what was next to the input, was a drawing of a deck of cards and 4 A's, a really good drawing in his opinion. "I liked the drawing, yoi. It's good." Ace smiled. "Yeah, I sometimes like to draw, helps me remember things, at least I think so." That made sense, If Ace had issues remembering the suits, drawing them might help. "Oh!" Ace moved some pages back in the diary. "It's not the best one, but I drew you!" Marco blinked as Ace was shuffling through the diary. "You did, yoi?" Ace nodded, before he got to the page.
When he showed the page, it was a good drawing of him. He was standing and looking his usual self. Ace was good with details. Marco then read the input next to it, which had him frown. "You don't like it when I wear the blue vest, yoi?" Ace nodded, a sheepish smile. "Yeah. I always feel like something is wrong when you do. Something is missing." Marco nodded, he would remember that too. He didn't know that. Ace then gave another sound as he shuffled through the book, before he landed on a page with a drawing of Pops. "You drew Pops?" Ace nodded, and Marco noticed Ace had drawn himself next to the man. "Yeah. To have something to remind me of his size. It still sometimes shocks me." Marco nodded, reading the input, reading about how Ace had been shocked when he saw the man that day and felt unsure of the man, and it also mentioned how everyone called him Pops, and it had him intrigued, writing the reason next to it, that he acted like their father. When he was done, Ace shuffled more. "It's not completely finished, but I also have this." Ace then showed a page, moving to tilt the book to its side, and on the long side was a drawing of each of the commanders and their names and status under them, even a few others Ace often spoke to, their size being right compared to each other. A few details were missing, like on their clothes and such, but it was still amazing. "You're amazing at drawing, yoi." Ace smiled. "Thank you. I feel it helps me remember, and I can see it in the mornings, makes me remember you guys." Marco nodded. Ace had been remembering their names well lately, and this might be why. "Is it often that you forget?" Ace sighed. "At times, yeah. But the drawing and book help me." Marco nodded. "I am glad it helps you, yoi. You have been remembering us lately, at least what we can see." Ace nodded. "Yeah. This really helps. I still sometimes forget as I walk out, but it helps." Marco nodded. Ace still had forgotten their names or status now and then, but he always remembered with some help.
Ace then showed more of his drawing, even having one of Azuruko, and the input was how Ace missed the man. "Do you miss Azuruko a lot, yoi?" Ace nodded slowly. "At times. But… I don't regret staying. But I do look forward to when we get to our island again." Ace sometimes called the Moby his home, and sometimes not. He got the island Azuruko was on was also Ace's home in a way. Ace then shuffled more through the book, Marco reading a few inputs, and most was how Ace felt bad for forgetting things, but how he liked it on the boat and with them. How they were nice to him. Ace seemed happy based on what he wrote, and that was everything. He sat with Ace for a bit more, before the two headed out when the clock was nearing dinner, Ace seemed to be in a good mood, which was good.
When the day was over and night came, Marco was with Pops in his room and Marco told about Ace's diary. Not what he wrote- aside from that he was happy and felt bad at times when he forgot things- but about the drawings, and how Ace was an amazing artist. It had Pops shocked, not knowing Ace could draw. But, he found it amazing and liked how it helped Ace, especially liking how Ace had drawn him, to remember his size. Pops did know Ace had written about him before, but not that he had drawn him, which had him glad. He hoped he would see Ace's skill once, but he wouldn't ask to see his diary, it was Ace's, and Marco got it. The only reason he had seen was since Ace had offered to show. Marco was glad Ace had, so he could get a look into how Ace felt and thought, and he was glad Ace liked it here, even though he was having issues at times. But as long as Ace was happy, it was fine.
