2 weeks had passed since, that kiss happened.
Hetty and Granger were still friends. Though, things were a bit awkward between them.
Granger was a bit surprised by the kiss, but. He kind of liked it. Hetty however, was a bit embarrassed.
'Wait, you kissed him?! That's amazing!' Nell exclaimed when Hetty told her.
'Is it? Because I feel so mortified right.' Hetty replied.
'Well, it sounds to me like you were acting on your instincts. I mean, if you love someone, you should act on it!'
'Except I don't even know if I love him! He was saying nice stuff to me, and when he said that bit about how I'm not damaged goods to him, I just. I don't know what I was thinking!'
'Sounds like you were saying you loved him.' Nell winked.
Hetty let out a long sigh. 'Did I really just do something that hints at being in love?'
'Looks like it!'
At first, Hetty didn't want to really bring it up with Granger. But she knew she couldn't avoid the topic forever. So, she texted him saying that she was finally ready to talk about it.
On the porch swing
'So, how you doing?' He asked.
'Good. I think I'll be ready to return to work soon.' Hetty replied.
'That's nice.'
'That night, I was just feeling really embarrassed. And hearing something as sweet as that I'll never be damaged goods to you, was very big to me.'
'Enough to make you remember some emotion that you've never really felt for anyone?' Granger asked.
'(Sigh). Look, this relationship stuff right now, is a bit new to me. It's pretty obvious that there's still something between us, and we should explore it. I just, need to know if you'll be patient with me?' Hetty replied.
'As long as it takes.'

'So, are we officially dating then?' Granger asked.
'Looks like it.' Hetty replied.
