'I know I put it somewhere! Where is it?' Granger thought as he rummaged through his house looking for something important. 'Ah ha! Here it is!'

In a light corner of a well hidden safe, he pulled out a ring box that had a beautiful pearl ring inside it.

He had bought it years ago when he thought he was going to marry Kim's mother. After she broke his heart, he couldn't bear to throw it away, mainly because it cost him too much to buy. He had hoped to one day be able to give it to this soulmate.

And, after taking care of Hetty for the past 3 months, and realizing just how much he had cared about her over the years, he had started to feel like that Hetty could be his soulmate!

He felt that Hetty also possibly felt the same about him. 'At least, I hope so I can be the person she knows she deserves! 1st step, is to get this ring resized!'

That night

Hetty had gotten home pondering on a lot of things. After work, she had gone to meet Kim for dinner, and she had asked a bewildering question: 'Do you love my dad?'

She didn't really know how to answer!

'To tell the truth, I could be! He's been the rock that I've needed the past 3 months, and how many times in the past year have I wished to have more time with him?! But, actually thinking that I could be in love with him? The kind of love that married folks feel for each other? I, I guess that's where I start feeling confounded. I've been so used to living alone all my life, and, it would be quite an adjustment! Would we even be able to tolerate each other like that? Sigh. So much to think about!' Hetty thought, rubbing her head.

She then got out an old record that she really loved: 'It had to be you', and put it on the phonagraph.

'It had to be you, it had to be you!'

'Sigh. It really had to be the person that I've been at odds wither since I've met him, did it?' Hetty thought. 'Heh. Life is really funny isn't it?'

At his house, Granger was listening to the same song.

'The man who has had 1 love disappointment after another, is in love with his longtime partner who loves messing with him?! (chuckle). Guess it's true what Kim said about me being alive for a reason' Granger thought, amused.

'It had to be you, wonderful you! It had to be you!'
