Hello everyone, here is the next one shot, this time from Roses in the Waves
This is if Sabo didn't die, but just got parted from Ann
This was a request
Hope you enjoy
Marco looked at Ann. "Ann, where is Luffy's father, yoi?" Asked Marco, needing to know. He, the father to Luffy, could have left her alone out on sea, which would be horrible. But in his mind, it was either that or worse, if Luffy was the result from a forced act. Who would leave their child alone on the sea? Or, not alone, the baby had Ann and her crew, which was someone. Maybe they did have the father on Moby 2, he hoped he would get some answers now.
Ann gave an indecisive look, moving Luffy to stand on her legs, looking longful. "He… Luffy's father… We got separated. His parents were… nobles, and came for him, we got separated in the mess and fight. I'm still searching." Marco frowned. "You're searching, yoi?" Ann nodded. "Or, I was. Before I wound up here. I'm not sure where to check now, I checked the islands we were supposed to head to, but no find… I miss him." Marco nodded, he got that. "Where were you going to check next, yoi?" Ann shrugged, moving Luffy to sit on her lap, the baby growing tired as he had eaten, resting against Ann's chest. "I'm not sure. I was heading to a large island when you picked me up. I've been searching on nice islands, where we wouldn't be judged, and there aren't that many like that." That was true, there weren't many islands like that. He felt on the woman's behalf, she was alone right now, and she shouldn't be. He would be sure to speak with Pops later.
Ann stayed a bit longer, before she left to put Luffy down for his nap, and as she was gone, Thatch let out a breath. "I feel sorry for her. She's all alone." Marco nodded. "I know. We should help her search, yoi." Thatch nodded. "I agree, but where would we look?" Marco didn't know, the world was big, he could be anywhere. But as he was thinking, a thought entered his mind. "Maybe we don't need to search." Thatch frowned. "What do you mean?" Marco shook his head. "He must be searching for her too. Let's get it out that Ann is with us, and it will read the news, and we make sure there is a picture, and that Ann's here with us. He can come find us, yoi." That sounded to be an idea in his mind. Thatch blinked. "That sounds smart! We need to do that! We need to tell Ann!" Marco nodded. "Let's wait until Luffy's nap is over. Izou, could you fetch something with our mark on it? Scarf, shirt, just something, yoi." Izou nodded, standing up. "I will." Then he headed away, and Marco headed to Pops, updating the man, and he agreed they should help Ann search, and when he told his idea, Pops nodded, agreeing it sounded smart. The news always portrayed new additions to his family as pirates and they got a larger bounty than they had. And Ann didn't have a bounty yet.
Marco then met up with Izou, who had a scarf with their mark on. He knew the best way would have been a tattoo, but as long as Ann was breastfeeding, she couldn't take one. So this was the best idea. When Ann came out with Luffy a bit later, he headed over with the scarf. "Ann, I have an idea. And you don't need to do it. But we tell the marines and news you have joined us, you get a bounty and everyone knows you're with us. And then, Luffy's father can see it and find you. He must be searching as well, yoi." Ann blinked. "You… you would do that for me?" Marco nodded. "Yes, we would. We like you, yoi." Ann nodded. "Y-yeah, that sounds smart." Marco then took Luffy, while Ann put the scarf around her waist, making sure the mark was visible, before they took a picture of her, even taking one where Izou was next to her, to make sure they knew she was with them, before they sent it away. He hoped this would work.
The next week passed, and when the end of the week came, the wanted poster came in the newspaper, and had a small input that they had a new crew member, which was Ann. The marines found it weird as Ann wasn't known, and most of them had been known before they joined, but that didn't mean they weren't allowed to join. Ann was a strong woman, and fit perfectly with them, he believed. And she was just amazing with Luffy. He then showed it to Ann, who gave a smile. "I hope this will do it. I want to find him." Marco got that. "How long have you been together, yoi?" Ann chuckled. "Since we were 5." That was long, he must be Ann's childhood love, he wondered what kind of man he was, but he could only wait and hope to meet him.
The next month went by fine. They had some battles now and then, but nothing bad. Everytime a new boat approached them, they held off fighting for a bit, to make sure it wasn't the father to Luffy, but everyone had come for a fight. Ann always had hope when a new ship came, but she always looked hurt when it wasn't the father to Luffy. But after a month, a small boat from the revolutionary army came towards them, and they prepared to fight. But as the boat came closer, they didn't seem to be out after a fight, which was weird. They weren't on speaking terms with the revolutionary army. When they were close, he saw a blond man out on deck, having a thoughtful frown. When they were closer, the man yelled. "We come in peace! Please, let me board!" Okay, that was weird, and they would see where this would lead, but be ready for a fight. It wasn't a large crew on the other boat, so they would win easily.
When they were closer, the blond man gave a hasty look. "Is Ann here?!" Marco blinked, he was after Ann? "Who are you?" The blond took a breath. "I'm Sabo, I need to find Ann." Marco nodded, not sure who it was, before he remembered something. They had never asked what Luffy's father's name was. How he didn't know. Maybe since they didn't want to bring it up as it often brought tears to Ann's eyes. This might be him, this might be Luffy's father. "Are you Luffy's father, yoi?" The man, Sabo, let out a breath as his eyes went wide. "L-Luffy? It was a boy? And she named him Luffy?" Marco nodded. "She did. I'm guessing you're the father." Sabo nodded. "W-where is she? Why isn't she out?" Marco moved his hand in a calm fashion. "It's his, Luffy's, nap time." He then looked towards Izou. "Get Ann." Izou nodded and headed away, and as he did, he looked at Sabo. "Why are you with the revolutionary army, yoi?" Sabo shook his head. "My boat sank, and they found me and took me in. I've been searching for months." Made sense. "So has Ann, yoi." Sabo nodded, having an uncertain look. "Why is Ann with you? I saw the wanted poster." Marco nodded. "We staged that, so you would see. We found her some two months ago, and we took her in. Although, we did it against her will at the start."
Sabo nodded and was on his way to say something, when Sabo was suddenly on the ground, Ann hugging him and having jumped on him and he wasn't prepared. "Sabo!" Yelled Ann as she had her arms around him, and he was quick in hugging back. "Oh God, Ann. You're safe." Ann nodded, sniffling. "And so are you." Sabo nodded, and the two got themselves up from the deck, and as they did, Izou came up to them, him holding Luffy, and Ann quickly took him back, showing him to Sabo, who gave a gasp. "Oh my God, he is beautiful. I heard you called him Luffy?" Ann nodded, tears in her eyes. "I did. It's such a beautiful name. And he needed a name." Luffy was a nice name, and he had a feeling Sabo had chosen that name.
Sabo then leaned in and kissed Ann, Ann kissing back and it was a lovely reunion. Marco was glad they had made this happen. Ann then leaned back, giving another sniffle. "Why are you with the revolutionary army?" Sabo chuckled. "They found me. Why are you here?" Ann shrugged. "They found me… It's nice here, no one is judging me." Sabo nodded. "Good. I was judged by a few when I said I had a child, but I needed to find you." Marco never knew why people were so judgy. It was wrong, and Ann was so lovely, and he was sure Sabo was too. Ann gave a sniffle. "What do we do now?" Sabo hummed. "I don't know. Where do you want to be?" Ann shrugged. "I… I like it here." Sabo nodded. "Then we stay here. If I can."
WIth that, Ann looked at him, and Marco nodded. "I am sure Pops wouldn't mind it, yoi." Ann looked back at Sabo with that. "You can stay here. We can be a family, a real family." Sabo chuckled. "A family within a family? I know how the Whitebeards work." Ann laughed. "Of course. But we can be happy together. That's all I ever wanted." Sabo nodded. "Same here. And now we can, I've missed you so much, I am so glad you're fine." Ann nodded, moving to hug Sabo with a hand, as the other held Luffy. "I am so glad you're fine. We've missed you so much." Sabo nodded. "I know. I missed you. And to know we have what looks like a healthy child together. I am so glad you're both fine." Ann nodded. "I am as well. They've been really nice to me here. Made sure I'm healthy, that Luffy's healthy. Kept us fine." Sabo nodded. "And I can never thank them enough for that." Marco smiled. "It is nothing. She's like family to us, yoi." Sabo smiled. "I'm glad you found yourself here." Ann nodded. "I am as well. It is so nice here. I am sure we will be happy here." Sabo chuckled. "I don't care where we are, just that I am with you."
Marco then watched as the two made their way over the deck, probably heading to Ann's room to catch up. Marco guessed they didn't just have two additions to their family, they had three. He then headed to Pops, telling the good news, which had the man glad, and he didn't mind Sabo staying.
And that's the one shot, hope you enjoyed
This is how I would imagine how it would be if Sabo was alive and not dead
