In Hogwarts, Harry was confused.
For as far as he could remember, he's been dreaming about a girl, looking a lot like his mother but with his father's eyes, who was his age and was named Rose Lilly. They talked and he knew everything about her just like she knew everything about him. They could even share memories and images in these dreams.
Seeing her had been a real comfort, his only comfort, during his 10 years with the Dursley's. Even once he had gotten to Hogwarts, and she had gotten to another magic school in France, she had been there for him and he for her. She was one of his best friends, though he didn't know if she was real or not.
He had no idea whether she was real or not, he had never really thought about it for too long and the only people who knew about it were Ron and Hermione. He had waited until 2nd year to tell them. he told them shortly after they found out that he could speak to snakes.
He hadn't told Sirius, even though Hermione insisted that he should, that his godfather would be able to answer his questions. Harry didn't want his only living link to his parents to think that he was crazy or weak because he was dreaming about some girl that wasn't real. Beside his two best friends, nobody knew about his dreams and Harry was sure that this was for the best.

The third task of the tournament was almost there.
One more week and it would be upon them.
Dumbledore was invisible and he walked through the halls of his school, watching students and thinking about various things at the same time. He had already caught the Weasley Twins doing something barely legal but had decided to let it pass. They amused him and he knew that they weren't dangerous. They were working on more products for their future joke store and he approved of it completely. He actually couldn't wait to see it. He couldn't wait to see everyone's faces when he, the great and famous Albus Dumbledore, would walk in this store and leave with several full bags of products. He'd make sure journalists saw him then. He couldn't wait for that moment, he knew it was silly, especially at his age, and with everything that was preparing, but he was looking forward to it. To see people's faces when they realized he'd just purchased bags full of those products, wondering what he'd do with them.
Suddenly, he stopped his walk, not to run into three Durmstrang students. Albus was thankful that he could understand the language they were speaking because their words immediately caught his attention.
"It's too bad fourth year couldn't come with us. Rose Lilly would have loved this thing." One of them said, making Albus curious.
The name, that name, was a name he had heard a long time ago and that was linked to painful memories for everyone who knew the Potters and the pain they had felt when their daughter, Harry's twin sister, died. Albus still felt guilty that he hadn't told the young boy about her but what was the point? She was long dead, hadn't even lived an hour.
"You're right. But with her fiery temper, she'd have been in trouble a long time ago. I don't think she would have liked the people we eat with here." The other one replied.
"True. But if that Potter boy can go this far in the tournament and do this well, imagine how well she'd have done." Another one declared.
"She'd have left them all in the dust, unless they'd have disqualified her because of something she'd have done, breaking the rules."
As the boys talked, Albus used Legilimency to look in their minds for said girl and what he saw made his heart jump. As if on cue, Harry Potter and his two best friends walked in front of them at this moment, probably heading to a classroom to practice new spells for the third task. He had heard Minerva say that she had allowed them to use her classroom after having run into them too many times as they practiced in corridors.
The boys walked away and after a few minutes, the hall was empty once more. Albus made himself visible again and walked slowly, deep in thoughts, until Severus Snape stopped him.
"Are you alright, Headmaster?" he asked the elder man.
"No, Severus, I'm not. A terrible thought has just crossed my mind and if it was to be true…" He replied, shaking his head.
"Is it about Potter?" The potion master asked.
These days, Albus' troubling thoughts were often about Harry Potter and Severus couldn't help be a bit worried for the boy too. Whoever put his name in the cup obviously didn't do so to give Harry Potter more fame and eternal glory.
"Partially. Do you remember that he had a twin sister? One that was born still?"
"Of course, Lilly's heart was broken and if she hadn't had Harry and James, she would have probably lost her mind." Severus replied, remembering his one and only visit to her.
"I… I just heard three Durmstrang students talking about a fourth year girl in their school… Her name is Rose Lilly and I looked into their minds… She looks… She looks like Lilly, except she has brown eyes that look a lot like James'." Albus explained.
"This could be a coincidence. Brown eyes are very common and red hair… Well, not so common but still found in the wizarding world." Severus shook his head, the Weasley family in mind.
"You're right, but I also remember that the nurse that helped deliver the twins was madly in love with James and never got over the fact that he chose Lilly and never even gave her a second look. When I visited them, Remus and Sirius were discussing it and asked me to break the debate, which is why I remember it so vividly now. I'm not used to thinking the worst in people but, in this case…" Albus told Severus.
"You think she could have faked Rose's death? That this girl could be a Potter? Lilly's daughter?" The potion master asked, his voice full of contained emotions.
"I do. Maybe we should check it out." Albus declared.
"You could ask your contacts to locate that woman, the nurse, once we know where she is, we can look for her, talk to her. See if your fears are justified. I mean, even if she lies, you're a good enough Occlumens to see the truth in her mind." Severus suggested.
"You're right, Severus."
"Will you tell Potter about it?"
"Not until after the last task is done. He already has a lot on his mind right now, no need to burden him with hope that could be unfounded. I don't think anyone even told him that he should have had a twin sister. I certainly didn't and I don't think Petunia would have cared enough to say anything. I know Sirius didn't tell him, he didn't know how to bring the subject up and, like me, didn't see the point of hurting him with something that was long over..." Albus decided and Severus nodded his agreement.
What did you think?
I've realized that I've up to chapter number 39 all written so I'll update more than once a week. If I can't finsih as quickly as I think, I'll go back to updating once a week.
