It's been several days since Tanya arrived in this world. She has done several more of Malachite's jobs and is clearly becoming her favorite.
It was a relatively quiet day despite it only being her fourth day working with Malachite, things were awfully quiet. Probably had to do with the fact that she's scared off every single gangster that wasn't the Spider.
She was silently eating her dinner prepared by the Spiders, it was Saliboury Steak, with a side of mash potatoes with Gravy, and corn not that fancy.
"Tanya, would you come here?" Malachite asked.
Tanya finished her food and went over to the table Malachite usually sits at, "You've been good with my people and been doing the contracts. I think it should be made official that you're a Spider. Don't you agree?" Malachite asked.
Tanya was confused; she was only doing what she was asking of her and now a position? "I don't understand?" Tanya responded, it was all she could think of.
"I mean do you want to join the Spider?" She clarified.
"I don't know ma'am." Tanya responded, joining a Crime Syndicate wasn't exactly on her bucket list. But it is an option for a nice and quiet retirement.
"My, the girl is in shock. Can't blame yea." She laughed a bit, "most petty criminals around here go into shock when we offer them the position. Such as one Roman Torchwick." She ended the sentence with a bit of a scowl.
"It sounds like you don't Torchwick." Tanya said.
"That's an understatement Darling, Roman may be one of our best in the Spider. But one thing you'll hate the most about him is his ego." Malachite said.
"So I'm assuming he does his own thing without notifying you when he'll do something?" Tanya thought it was really the only reason a boss of a criminal would get mad at them.
"You're correct about that. So back to the topic: do you want to join? Don't worry I won't have you do petty things like rob houses, or stores." Malachite said.
Tanya thought about it for a moment, it was her first opportunity here in this world. It was probably her only one due to the fact she doesn't officially exist.
"I accept." She responded.
"I knew you would say that." Malachite said, she then called over a spider. In their hands was a tattoo machine. "Now where do you want your tattoo?"
Tanya held out the palm of her hand.
"The Palm we don't get many of those. You may want to wear gloves to hide it when you're wanted by the police." Malachite said.
"Ok." Was her response. The tattoo artist got busy tattooing the palm of her hand. At the end of it she had a spider tattooed. "Thank you." Tanya said, pulling away her hand and placing it to her side.
"Now you're an official member of the Spider. Tanya Degurechaff, welcome."
"Thank you." Tanya said, bowing down slightly.
Then almost on cue the doors opened revealing an orange hair man wearing a green overcoat and black leather boots, with a bowler hat over a ponytail.
Coming over to the table he had a smug look, he approached Tanya and bent over to get a better look.
"So this is the newbie who slaughtered an entire rival gang. I expected you to be bigger, but I can see why they were able to sneak up on them." He said.
"Roman I assume?" Tanya asked.
"You're right about that Lil' Blondie." Roman answered.
"Roman, shouldn't you be a bit busy with something?" Malachite asked it was more sarcastic than anything else.
"Oh, yes. Yes I am. I'm here so I can evaluate the newbie. She's made quite the name for herself. The Black Death I believe they call you. Crime has dropped greatly in Mistral after only four days of you working for us." Roman said, placing his hands on the table.
"Get your filthy hands off my table." Malachite said, Roman pulled back his hands.
"Yes I will. So can I take the newbie on a robbery as you know we're trying to go big." Roman said.
Malachite sighed "Tanya?" She wouldn't usually turn towards her gangsters but Tanya was a special case.
Tanya stood up "I accept, I don't feel like being called a newbie." Tanya said.
"All right newbie. Oh sorry, I mean new blood let's go get some cash." A wicked smile formed on Romans face, while Tanya's face remained cool and collected.
Strewn across a desk table were numerous files and reports about a series of murders of over fifty people over the course of the last few days. Most of these people couldn't be identified due to the brutal nature of their murders. Even with blood samples there was no way for them to identify the people.
Whoever it is they are targeting what seems to be gangs.
"Detective."
Whoever it was, the only reason why they were even able to learn about these incidents were witness reports from people nearby who heard the gun fire.
"DETECTIVE!" Someone yelled, throwing Detective Shiro Akane out of his thoughts. His face was aging after decades of work. He wore a black tie suit with a leather trench coat over it, his eyes were an emerald green.
He overreacted as hefell to the ground and hit his head, "What was that for!" Shiro yelled at the four Junior Detectives from Haven Academy.
"Look if you haven't heard Roman Torchwick is moving against the Bank of Mistral and is currently holding everyone hostage." Said the leader of team MGMA (Magma) Margaret Molten.
She had red eyes, and wore a Red and Black combat skirt, she also wore some black leather boots on her chest was a pin identifying that she was a Junior Detective.
"Roman Torchwick?" Shiro responded.
"Yes, not only that he has someone new with him, a little blonde girl, someone we haven't recorded yet." Margaret explained.
"Wait a girl? Can we identify her?" Shiro asked.
"No we cannot, her face is covered or something. It's completely unidentifiable, something is covering her face. Her hair is visible but her face isn't." Explained Mark Ash, he wore a Black Leather Jacket with blue jeans, his eyes were a deep dark black. He wore grey black sneakers.
"A semblance?" Shiro wondered.
"Look if we stand around theorizing we won't learn anything about her if we don't go!" Margaret demanded, slamming her hands onto the table.
"Alright we're going!" Shiro said, even if he was a detective that didn't mean he shouldn't go to places with a potential clue where a known criminal's hiding place was.
Detective Shiro and Team Magma left the Mistral Police Department. Shiro was so lost in thought that he didn't realize everybody left except for MGMA.
Shiro got into his truck followed by MGMA. Margaret was in the Passenger seat while the others were in the bed. After everybody buckled in, Shiro took off towards the Bank of Mistral.
"Your not half bad. I'm surprised you didn't accidentally kill the officers or any of the other hostages." Roman said, congratulating the Blonde little girl whose face was obscured by a mask of some sort.
"Come let's go get the cash." Tanya said.
"Look little Blonde, if you haven't noticed we need to get past a lot of automated security. Unless you have a way past that then we're not going." Roman said.
"Why didn't you bring any tools to get past them or disable them?" Tanya exclaimed.
"Well I wanted to see how well you can improvise a bank robbery." Roman said.
"Oh my fucking god! You just don't rob a bank empty handed!" Tanya screamed, nearly tearing her hair out. She thought about punching Roman but instead punched a pillar. She activated a strength formula cracking the pillar and sending it flying which caused the hostages to cower in fear.
"Wait, you're testing me?" Tanya turned to Roman, who only nodded in response, she turned to the bank clerk "You!" She walked up for girl who's barely older than 18, she cowered into the counter "what's the defenses in the vault?" Tanya asked.
"I- I don't know, leave alone!" She said she was on the brink of crying.
"Then who knows!" Tanya asked.
Someone next to her spoke "I know!" He said.
"Then tell me? Don't sit there and say I know!" Tanya yelled.
"Um, motion sensors, high powered lasers that can cut the hardest of steels. It has everything you can imagine really." He said.
"How do you disable them?" Tanya asked.
"You'll need the key card. I am essentially the banks handyman." He took a card out of his pocket revealing a yellow keycard. "You'll need my initials and password though." He said.
Tanya pointed a gun at him and made him move for the vault door "well get started!" She ordered, the mechanic got to work on opening it.
Less than thirty seconds later the vault door with all the security disabled. No lasers, no motion sensors or guns for that matter.
"Before you enter the vault has a manual lock, not an electronic one. I could only override a few of them." The mechanic said.
The two entered the vault Tanya went first, and began clearing out the room to check for any stragglers that might've locked themselves in the vault. After confirming it was clear the two began heading towards the actual vault.
What was true was the fact that it had to be manually unlocked, something the mechanic didn't have on him nor did any of the clerks. So they did the next best thing.
"I'm gonna burn through the door." Tanya said.
"I like that plan." Roman said. Tanya stepped back behind cover Roman too.
"So how big is this explosion will be?" Roman asked, Tanya picked up her rifle and began activating the most powerful optical Formula a Thermobaric Optical Beam the 97 could handle a spell of that size barely, while the Type 95 could handle it with ease.
Tanya began a prayer.
"So you're robbing for god?" Roman joked Tanya didn't respond. Soon after a huge beam of light came out from her gun it was designed to be concentrated in a small part of the door to make sure none of the Lien caught fire or melted.
The beam ran for only five seconds before it broke through, with trained reaction time Tanya turned it off the second it broke through. Molten metal was in the hole, Tanya activated a heat formula but with the numbers reversed to solidify the molten metal. After only a second of running the metal solidified.
Around the same time the door to the bank was broken through and dozens of police officers came through.
"Where are the robbers?" Detective Shiro asked, a bank clerk came to him sobbing.
"They're in the vault!" She said in between sobs.
"What happened?"
"They- they-" she stopped.
"MGMA go around the top of the building to stop them, the officers will go through the front."
MGMA did as ordered and went to the roof while the other officers entered the vault. What they found was shocking. A massive gaping hole was in the vault door. Soon after the sound of a large laser being activated as the floor of the building was torn to shreds.
By the time they got to the actual vault the two criminals were already gone. In their place was a hole in the floor, a large one at that. It was even larger than the one that leads in the vault. Most of the money was taken with a few stacks here and there only left.
They soon realized where they were. On the roof.
MGMA had arrived at the roof of the Bank as they were ordered what they saw were two people, a blonde and an orange haired man. They recognized the orange haired man as Roman Torchwick, but they didn't recognize her.
In their hands were two duffel bags each, with possibly hundreds of thousands of lien.
"Stop right there!" Ordered Margaret.
Roman sighed "Damn Huntsmen and Huntresses don't you realize I'm giving a friend of mine a test?" Roman placed his duffel bags down and turned around, gun in hand.
"Put the guns and money down!" Margaret ordered, she brought our Volcanic Magma. A sword colored red with a dust switch system, its sheath was a gun.
Roman sighed "Man you guys don't get it do you." Soon after he said that an airship came flying up and its spotlight turned to them, blinding them. Margaret fired Volcanic Magma but Roman's Partner stepped in front of him and a blue shimmer occurred and no damage was done.
"What?" Margaret wondered.
Soon the masked blonde spoke a female voice "Your weapons will do nothing to me. At least it's less pathetic than Dacias attempts." The masked blonde said.
Margaret fired Volcanic Lava again, it was blocked again. The masked blonde brought up her rifle and its muzzle flowed blue and she fired, sending an explosion in their direction. Throwing up smoke.
But when the smoke cleared they were on the airship that was flying away.
Soon after a glowing gold bullet shot out of the airship splitting into many pieces. Flying out towards the dozen airships coming to stop the criminal airship, but they were all destroyed and it was too late for them to realize they were being shot at.
A dozen explosions lit up the evening sky. Their propellers and sails flew out as each of the gold bullets tore their way through the Mistral Airships.
"Wo! Yeah Blonde I'm gonna have to give you credit for that. You make really good special events. A firework show at the end of a robbery? You know how to make an exit." Roman cheered, Tanya was less impressed than she'd done it a couple of times before. So it wasn't special really.
Hours later Tanya found herself realizing. What happened after the robbery. She didn't remember it was a side effect of using the Type 95, so what happened?
