Chapter 2: Meeting Kyle, Kenny, And The Dangerous Three
"As you've probably already guessed, my name is Michael Brimestone, and I am the Principal of this academy. This here is one of the Assistant Principals, Henrietta Biggle. Welcome humans to Valentine Academy, a learning institute for vampires."
No one utters a word after the Principal's eccentric greeting, the man before them looking inhuman. He has the sharpest canines any human could possibly possess. Henrietta's blank expression never changed. Only three out of the six teenagers' hunches were correct.
The interior of the building is decorated in the colors red, black, and white. A big and bright chandelier hangs in the middle of the two staircases. Upon entering the academy, a very long bi-colored carpet splits into two directions going up each of the stairs- the left side is red while the right side is black, both edges are white. Two crystal clear vases are stationed on small desks on either side of the first floor, in them are assorted flowers and they all seem to be in good health.
"W-wait, what?! V-vampires?!" Exclaims a horrified Tweek. He grips at his hair, a bad habit he does whenever he's in an unforeseen or stressful situation. Is this a trap? Is this even real?! Vampires existed this whole time?! An irritated sigh pulls him out of his muddled, racing thoughts.
"I knew bringing humans here would be a huge pain in the ass," Henrietta complains shaking her head. Michael just shrugs nonchalantly. "Yeah, as this guy here just said this is an academy for vampires, and to answer your question," she addresses to Ike who has his hand raised. He sheepishly puts his arm down. "We have chosen you six as test subjects for our students."
"T-t-test subjects?!" Tweek shrieks. Pip gasps. Ike appears greatly uneasy along with Stan and Gary while Gregory is the only one who looks perfectly composed.
Michael chuckles at their frightened expressions (Excluding Gregory's), but not in a teasing manner. His fangs seemingly revert back to their semi-sharp state. "Henrietta, you could've worded that waay better." Said woman's face blatantly indicates that she doesn't care. "What she meant to say is that we have chosen the six of you to help our students. We're trying to see if they're able to coexist with the humans, soo yeah, I lied in the letters to get you all here."
Tweek is now a paranoid mess, he suspected right. This is a trap!
"Hmph, I'd figured as much." All eyes turn to Gregory, who is slowly drawing out his cutlass. "I knew this was a ploy from the get-go, and it's a shame. I actually had slight hopes for the assassination missions you had in store here." Once his weapon is out of its sheath, he charges at the head vampire. Henrietta - though inwardly impressed at the boy's dauntless action - doesn't move, and neither does Michael, having no need to because someone with red hair suddenly appears in front of the male noirette.
The teen stops Gregory's sword with his bare hand, rendering him stunned in disbelief. "Don't harm him."
"Tch." The redhead does as told, releasing the blade with not a cut on his pastel palm.
Gregory stands down glaring at the teenage vampire as he sheathes his weapon. The teen seems to be about Stan's height. His fiery red hair is tied into a ponytail and is resting over his shoulder, it looks to reach his mid-back if it was behind him. His uniform consists of a properly fastened black blazer- the trimming is red with five platinum gold buttons, two of those buttons keep his cuff links locked. Peeking out under his blazer is a dark red dress shirt and the shell of a white tie. On his left arm is a white and black armband, and he's wearing matching dark pants and dress shoes.
"Principal Brimestone," the redhead turns to the older vampire narrowing his reptilian-like lime-green eyes. "Why didn't you make an announcement stating that they were here?" His displeased tone earns him a grin, further annoying him. He sometimes questions if this guy is actually the head of this academy. Ms. Biggle is way more suited for the position, her demeanor exerts superiority and seriousness unlike this childish man.
"Sorry, it slipped my mind." Kyle scoffs at the man's jesting excuse. "I thought you were busy anyway, Mr. President of the Student Council Committee." Kyle rolls his eyes dismissively, then turns to leave. But before he can get far, the man halts him by grabbing the collar of his uniform. "Ah ah ah, don't be rude. Aren't you forgetting to do something?" Principal Brimestone effortlessly pulls him back, the heels of his shoes dragging along the spotless floor until he's positioned in front of the man.
Henrietta yawns. "I'm goin' back to my room. Have fun, Kyle." She disappears in a haze of black smoke. The six humans stare at where she was once standing as the dark fog slowly vanishes into the frigid air.
Kyle grumbles to himself as he fixes his collar, Michael reminding him of his duties as President before leaving also. He knew humans were going to attend this academy, but he hadn't properly prepared to tour them around since the Principal didn't announce their arrival. Like he said he would. Nevertheless, Kyle really hopes these guys will be cooperative. "Well, as you've just heard my name is Kyle, Kyle Marson. To make this easier, I'll have a friend of mine help me and divide you guys into two groups of three." Before he can call for the teen using telepathy, someone with shoulder-length blonde hair saunters up to them.
"You rang?" He stops beside Kyle, grinning at the group standing near the closed doorway. The blonde has hazel eyes and looks to be about an inch over 6ft tall. His uniform isn't appropriately buttoned like Kyle's, two buttons on his blazer are loose, and his white dress shirt is exposing his collar bone. If you squint you can see a sort of black tattoo presumably on the upper left side of his left collar bone, or it could be a mole from a distant perspective.
"I should've known you would be lurking around," Kyle says knowing his friend has a knack for being nosy. Kenny looks to him with a wink. Kyle rolls his eyes although he can't contain the faint smile spreading on his lips. "I need your help showing these guys around. Before we get started, why don't you all introduce yourselves?" The way he said that sounded as though he could really care less about their names, and that attitude kind of ticks Stan off. Gregory feels the same way, but he keeps his composer. The humans tell them their names, Kyle still appearing uninterested.
"Wow, forgot we were gonna have humans here," Kenny says, then he gives them a warm smile. "The name's Kenny McCormick, me and Ky are one of the few vamps you shouldn't worry about here." His last statement did not put them at ease. He points to Stan, Tweek, and Gary. "I'll be taking you three."
Kyle frowns at the trio he has to take. He doesn't mind Ike and Pip, but can't say the same thing about Gregory. His foolish act of attacking the Principal further makes Kyle believe that most humans are brainless creatures. "Fine, the other half will follow me. We're going to go to the second floor where your bedrooms are located." With that being said, he makes his way towards the nearest staircase, not waiting for Ike, Gregory, and Pip to catch up to him.
All the while Gregory glares at the redhead's back.
With Kenny's group, said blonde is currently informing Stan, Tweek, and Gary all he knows about the academy. He appears to be really knowledgeable, apprising them that this building was founded back in the year 1945 in Arizona, then was later moved to Colorado by paranormal means and was given the name Valentine Academy. This academy has been around for 65 years now, and since no one has ever heard of this place, it's good to say that the creator chose an excellent location. Though their identity has yet to have been seen, not even any teachers and the other staff members have come across him. Only the Principal and his assistants know what he looks like, and asking only led to receiving ambiguous answers.
At first, the academy was a home for a vampire couple by the names William Edgewood and Elena Edgewood. Once they were comfortable in their new home, they later had children, five to be exact, and two of them go here. Their parents somehow died from an unknown incident, Kenny doesn't know the exact year of their deaths.
Two out of the three human teens become curious, but knows Kenny can't provide them any further answers so they don't question it. Instead, Stan decides to ask about a door they ambled past, it's the only one in the hallway that has chains around it. Tweek panics at the thought of them housing a deranged vampire here, but Kenny smiles at the noirette's query. "Don't worry about that. As long as you don't touch the door, you'll be fine." His answer only doubles Stan's curiosity.
They continue walking until Kenny suddenly stops, his crew looking to him for an explanation for his pausing. He stands there silently for some seconds, heaving a troubled sigh.
"W-what is it?" Tweek asks tentatively.
Kenny turns to them frowning. "Ummm, Kyle just told me that I...have to introduce you three to them." The way he emphasized them made them feel iffy. Whom is he referring to, and why is he anxious about it?
"Wait, by them do you mean the guys inside that chained-up room?" Stan asks, not questioning how the blonde managed to talk to the redhead from here. He assumes that they communicated through the use of telepathy, he'd done some research of his own before coming here.
"Yeah," Kenny responds with a nod of his head. "There's three vamps in there, and their door is like that for a reason. I don't know why Kyle wants you guys to go see them all of a sudden." Kenny doesn't know what his friend is planning, he can never really read him like he used to in the past. They have been childhood friends for as long as he can remember, they were practically inseparable as kids.
When they attended this academy, they were both 14 year old freshmen. It was one day Kenny saw Kyle being bullied by taller and older vampires in the hallway on his way to get the redhead so they could eat lunch together, witnessing the boy pressed against the wall made his blood boil. He never lost his cool unless Kyle or his other friends were being picked on, especially by vampires that were grades higher than them.
"Oi, assholes! What do you think you're doin' pickin' on Ky?" He tried to come off as intimidating as possible, seeing his friend's relieved look boosted his confidence.
One of the teens looked to the blonde then burst out laughing, his big gut gyrating with every breath. His two lackeys soon joined him, only because his laughter was contagious. Kenny's glare intensified. After awhile, the trio calmed down, the fat brunette wiping away a lone tear that slid from his chocolate brown eye. "O-oh man, I haven't laughed that hard in ages. You're pretty funny, kid."
Kenny scoffed at the 'compliment', clenching his hands into fists at his sides. "Leave Kyle alone, he hasn't done anything to you bastards."
The overweight teen slanted his eyes, his prideful smile still intact. "Look here, shrimp, I get that you wanna show off to your boyfriend, but I suggest you leave us alone unless you wanna take a beating in his place." Kyle paled at his threat, staring Kenny in the eyes hoping he would take the hint and back down. Fighting these guys wasn't worth it, he refused to be the cause of Kenny getting hurt. He didn't want to bear that kind of burden.
Kenny's scowl didn't waver. "Screw you," was his retort before hurling himself at the brunette.
During the scuffle, Kyle stood there and watched. His instincts told him to help - to help his friend - but he remained motionless as Kenny quickly became overpowered. It was only until a teacher came and broke up the fight that Kyle snapped back to reality. Afterwards, Kenny was to stay in their shared bedroom for a week to recover thanks to the heavy injuries he'd sustained. They didn't have a nurse at the time. The three juniors were suspended for four weeks for bullying and beating up a freshman.
During the week he was bedridden, Kyle did not speak to Kenny once. He only spared him remorseful glances.
"Could it be because of what Principal Brimestone told us?" Gary wonders, bringing Kenny back to the present. "He wanted us here to see if you guys can coexist with us humans."
Kenny rubs the back of his neck. "Yeah, that could be it, but..." Sighing softly, he gives the humans a small reassuring smile. "I'll make sure nothin' happens to you guys. C'mon." He walks back the way they came with the others following closely behind him, Tweek feeling very nervous. He doesn't doubt Kenny, well completely, but he just can't shake the presentiment that something will still happen to them even with a vampire on their side. It'll be one against three after all!
The four reach the chained-up room, only being a couple doors away from it prior. "I want you all to stay behind me and keep calm, alright?" Stan, Tweek, and Gary waste no time in replying an affirmative to the vampire. Smiling faintly, he raises a fist towards the door.
One knock, a chain falls to the floor with a clang.
Two knocks, another chain falls to the floor.
Three knocks, the last chain falls, and the door eerily pushes forward.
"This is you guys' room," Kyle says dully as he opens a door and flicks up a light switch. "Your uniforms are already in here so if you have any questions or concerns about the size or anything, don't hesitate to ask me."
Ike, Pip, and Gregory enter the bedroom, glancing around at the red and black décor. There are three beds - each of them have different colored patterned sheets and pillows on them. Two beds are on the left side, and one is on the right with neatly folded clothes on top of all three of them. Their dress shoes are on the floor by the foot of the beds. There are two muddy brown nightstands, one is in between the two beds and both of them contain a lamp though the one next to the isolated bed has an LED alarm clock. Solid black curtains with red rims cover a single big window in the center of the wall, it's as if it's purposely blocking out the outside world. They also have separate bathrooms, although there are only two of them.
"Come out," Kyle orders. After they drop their belongings down onto their chosen bed - Ike cursing Gregory for claiming the solo one before him - they reluctantly walk back into the hall.
"Now where are we going?" Gregory exasperates. All Kyle said he was going to do was show them where the bedrooms were located, and has just now brought them to theirs. If he had another place to take them to, then he should've said so beforehand. Gregory truly despises last minute planning.
Annoyed with his attitude, Kyle closes the door and walks back down to the foyer. How troublesome. Why can't Gregory behave like the other two- ask questions here and there with no obvious contempt or just keep his mouth shut? "This will be the last stop. Tomorrow morning, please be up and ready by 8:30 for breakfast. I'll escort you all to the cafeteria since we don't have enough time to go there tonight."
Ike groans at the thought of waking up so early. It doesn't necessarily bother him, but when they arrived here, it was past eleven o'clock from what he'd seen on the clock in their bedroom. He hopes they won't be at their last stop for too long. Pip, on the other hand, isn't concerned about that. He seems quite excited to see the cafeteria tomorrow. He can already imagine the cleanliness and beauty of it plus the food choices they will provide, getting his hopes up even more.
As they descend the steps, they hear a fairly loud sound come from the floor beneath them that startles a scream out of Pip. Kyle tenses, a nervous drop of sweat producing above his eyebrow. "Follow me." The group runs to the source of the sudden commotion.
"PUT HIM DOWN!"
Kyle knows whose voice that belonged to. The four nears and slows to a stop before an opened doorway, their shadows preventing some much-needed light from entering into the dark room. Sticking out a hand so that the humans don't go any further, Kyle frowns confusedly at the layer of chains on the floor. Why did Kenny come here? He knew very well the dangers that lurked within this room, plus not a single vampire was to let them out or even see them for any reason unless ordered to by the Principal. And what makes this development even more troubling is the fact that Kenny has humans with him! Just what was he thinking?!
Kyle suddenly notices movement, seeing Gregory walking past him with his weapon ready. He glares at his slightly taller frame as they both step into the barely lit room, if he wants to get himself killed then he won't stop him. Ike and Pip stay where they are, too afraid to venture in. With Kyle's and Gregory's figures out of the doorway, a long ray of light seeps halfway into the big yet strange looking bedroom, just inches away from the window-less wall. The air is icy cold. His eyes adjusting to his semi-dark surroundings, Kyle scans around, first spotting three coffins with their lids discarded on the floor then a few splatters of blood on the ceramic tiles.
"Kyle, over here!"
He twists his head towards the voice, seeing Kenny, Stan, and Gary staring at an amber-eyed silhouette before them, Tweek held captive by the neck. But what Kyle is mostly worried about is the fact that Tweek had been fed on. He knew something like this would happen...
"Tch. Clyde, you mind takin' care of them for me while I handle these other guys?" Says a deep monotone voice.
"Not a problem."
Before Kyle can do anything, Gregory defends himself from the vampire's attack. He then delivers a kick, but Clyde dodges it effortlessly. Kyle gapes at Gregory's back, astonished. He surmised that he was skilled at wielding the cutlass from his earlier demonstration, but for him to be able to see well in this darkness is admirable. He'll give him that.
"Heeey, not bad for a human," Clyde praises in actual astonishment. "Oi Craig, how 'bout this guy instead of the porcupine?"
"How about no?" Kyle objects instantly. "Craig, release Tweek right now or-"
"Or else what? You gonna expel me?" Craig taunts. "Heh, good luck with that." He leans towards Tweek's neck to drink from the same spot, but before he can sink his fangs into him again, he evades a swift attack from Gregory, causing him to drop Tweek in the process. Kenny rushes to catch him before he makes contact with the floor, the crazy-haired blonde lying unconscious in his arms.
"See? You should totally get this dude instead."
"Shut it," Gregory snaps, irritably looking around for the vampire named Craig. "I don't know what you're referring to, but I will not be anyone's...whatever the hell it is you're referring to."
"Gregory, behind you!"
Gregory tenses for he isn't quick enough to heed Pip's warning. Behind him stands someone a few inches shorter than him, his sky-blue eyes shining uncannily in the shadows. Despite Gregory being wide open, the vampire doesn't seize the chance to attack him. Stan comes to Gregory's rescue with a barrage of aimless punches, tired of standing around doing nothing. Yes, he cannot see and he's solely attacking on pure instinct, but he refuses to stand by idly. His fist gets caught in someone's hand. Squinting, he sees that it was Gregory who stopped him, annoyed at him for flailing his arms around. He releases his fist.
The sky-blue eyes were now beside Clyde. "Now that was uncalled for, I wasn't even gonna do anythin' ta him," the vampire complains in a Southern accent. Clyde pats his head, Craig placing himself behind the two. Light abruptly fills the entire room, everyone hissing at the bright intrusion. Ike walks away from the light switch with a proud grin.
Now that it's no longer dark, the humans sans Tweek can now identify their attackers. Starting with the tallest one, he has jet black hair and appears to be taller than Kenny by two or three inches. Once his amber eyes open, he gives them a heated glare. The second tallest is a brunette with lavender-colored orbs, and the last one has a shaggy head of blonde hair, his left ear is pierced with a studded red gem.
"You bastards, we have every right to kill you where you stand," Craig growls.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever." Kenny hands the unconscious Tweek over to Stan. "These two assholes are Craig Tucker," he points at the noirette. "And Clyde Donovan," he points to the brunette. "Butters is the only sane one in their clique, but his full name is Leopold Stotch." Smiling, the blonde waves at them. Clyde rolls his eyes.
"They're known as 'The Dangerous Three'," Kyle informs scornfully. "You've all just witnessed why they were given the name."
They were given that title upon their freshman year, when Kyle and Kenny were sophomores. No one really knew of their background, except the Principal and maybe his assistants. Kyle was President of the Student Council Committee when they arrived, and he even knew nothing about them.
Craig, Clyde, and Butters were joined at the hip, similar to how Kyle and Kenny were when they were children.
Kyle took it upon himself to study the trio attentively for some information, the first thing he discovered was that they were lovers. All three of them. Either Craig or Clyde would be the first to initiate a kiss, and the three would make out from there. Kyle never knew doing such an indecent activity was possible with three vampires and all guys no less, but he was on a mission therefore he did not let that deter him.
The second thing was that Craig acted like their bodyguard, or a possessive lover to put it more accurately. If anyone looked at Clyde or Butters funny, they would be met face to face with Craig. It was since then that whenever they left their bedroom, everyone stood clear of their path.
And the last thing...was that Butters hid a secret. It was one night that he caught the blonde cornered by four students behind the building. Kyle instantly recognized whom the three troublemakers were, but was disappointed to see that they'd gotten a new member. He was about to step in when the unexpected happened. He gawked in awe as Butters defeated the bullies in a minimum of fifteen seconds, the look he had on his face was that of a crazed vampire. His sky-blue eyes were a dark blue.
Kyle blinked the shock away before hurrying back into the academy, sparing one more glance at Butters to see him putting something into his left ear. It was then on that he suspected that his changed behavior had something to do with his earring.
Once 'The Dangerous Three' reached their sophomore year (somehow), the Principal placed them in a room with chains locking it from the outside. The reason being they weren't stable and were very troublesome to deal with, it was never easy getting them to calm down once riled up. Even two of their strongest teachers had difficulties handling them.
Expelling them wasn't an option, mainly because they would've been wandering the streets and they didn't need any more problematic vampires out there than there already were. The other reason was Craig's connection to this place, but once again only the Principal and maybe his assistants knew of the teen's history. All that was made known was Craig's relationship with one of the teachers, they were siblings although they did not get along well.
Kyle didn't understand why the other vampires here that were just as precarious didn't have their bedroom doors chained up. When he made the mistake of asking Principal Brimestone, he was merely told that they didn't have enough chains to put around almost all of the doors. Kyle doubted mere metal could contain the couple anyway, but he was later proven wrong. Those chains could not be removed so easily, he knew right then that they were a special metal.
'The Dangerous Three' only left their bedroom to attend their classes - which they hardly ever went to - and the cafeteria for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Principal Brimestone made the rule clear that no one let them out without his permission; if anyone disobeyed, teacher, staff, or student, they would be severely punished. The ruthless couple didn't mind the unfair treatment at all, as long as they had each other and no one got in the way of their 'activities', they kept to themselves.
*The Next Day*
Tweek awakens with a pained groan, his neck sore and his head pounding.
He blinks his eyes open sluggishly, noticing instantly that he's lying down on a soft bed. Once his vision clears a little, he sees that he is in a white room. Confused, he tries to recall the last thing that happened to him yesterday before he blacked out. After half a minute of racking his brain, it comes to him.
Him, Stan, Gary, and Kenny walked into a restricted room, calmly standing behind Kenny as instructed. The room was completely dark, their shadows blocking out most of the light within the hallway, and the air was akin to a morgue. While Kenny was searching for the perilous vampires, they were ambushed. It all happened so fast that the next thing Tweek knew, he was held by the neck then fainting from a burning pain coursing through his veins.
The memory makes his neck throb, he groans again. From the looks of the ceiling, he can only guess that he is in the infirmary. "What...exactly happened last night?" Did he perhaps...get his blood sucked? His body becomes heavy with dread. Is it possible for a human to be turned into a vampire from just a single bite? Before he goes into a paranoid fit, someone knocks on the door. He stifles a shriek.
As the door opens, he hears hushed whispering then they gently shut the door with an annoyed sigh. It's silent until red hair inches into his peripheral view. Kyle looks down at him then looks away with a blush when they make eye contact. Tweek assumes that he was forced into seeing him.
"I-it's good that you're awake...an' all," Kyle mutters, his blush darkening much to his chagrin. "J-just so you know, I only came in here to see how you were doing as President of the Student Council Committee, not because I actually cared or someone told me to. The bite was taken care of so you don't have to worry about becoming one of us."
So he did get his blood sucked. Tweek is greatly relieved to know that he will remain human. He really wants to ask Kyle why he had them go see those three crazy vampires, but he's too tired from panicking so much first thing he woke up to do that.
"O-okay."
His dull, hoarse voice makes Kyle frown, Tweek not bothering to interpret what it means. Kyle leaves warning him not to tell anyone about what they did last night, his voice becoming muffled as sleep claims Tweek in a matter of seconds.
(A/n: A Tsundere Kyle is cute in my opinion. I hope you enjoyed)
