Back on earth the rich are offered seats on the spaceships being built. As the ships are finished within 10 years because those kinds of supplies have run out. They have built over 10 ships each capable of holding 25,000 people with barely enough food.
So the are fighting amongst themselves when the real people, the workers take the complete ship and leave the earth while the politicians are fighting amongst themselves.

The workers head off towards Beta Centauri and find a planet there. They develop equipment to wear so they can go to the planet surface and live there.
In time they get magic and adapt to life on the planet.
Somehow the politicians managed to shut up and get their space ship fixed and lift off the earth.
However they screw up and crash land into the ocean on the world the workers settled on. The workers refuse to help them, the politicians that is.
Meanwhile 1,000 light years out the magical people have found their magical solar system. There are 7 planets in the magical solar system. The wizards discover that several of the planets are in different time zones, meaning coexistence in different periods of time.
