Chapter 30: The Vampire Hunter Is A...

Craig doesn't trust this guy at all. Like hell he came here to speak with the Principal. He was already deemed suspicious the moment he stepped this deeply into the woods this late at night.

"W-wait, I think he's..." Butters murmurs, frowning warily at the man before them.

"He's what?" Clyde asks. But before he can get an answer, he narrowly dodges a fist that was aimed at his head. The punch was so swift and close to Clyde's head that he loses a few strands of his hair. Butters' eyes now glare at the man.

"You bastard!" Craig curses before retaliating in Clyde's stead. Bright red replaces amber in his eyes, his pupils faintly glowing in a light blue hue. A misty blue aura manifests around his hands, tiny particles resembling snowflakes flutter down, but vanish before they can touch the ground. Craig attempts to grab the male, however he evades him.

"Oh ho, getting serious, are we? Good, I could use the warm-up," the man says whilst grinning excitedly.

"You won't be so cocky once I freeze you," Craig retorts. "I'll break you to pieces the moment that happens!" The male just broadens his grin.

While Craig distracts their enemy, Clyde returns to Butters' side. "Rude jackass," Clyde grumbles. He watches Craig constantly trying to freeze the guy, but keeps failing. "C'mon, Craig, he's toying with you." Then he looks at Butters. "So, before we help Craig out cuz he obviously needs it-"

"No, I don't!"

"-do you know who that asshole is?"

Butters first checks Clyde's head for any injuries. "I'm fiiine, buttercup," Clyde tells him as he grabs his hands and lower them down.

"Was just makin' sure. That punch of his was way too fast even for me ta react," the blonde admits.

"Dodging is my specialty. It doesn't matter how fast someone is, they won't be able to hit me," Clyde boasts.

Butters chuckles at his cheeky response, but he's not wrong. He's hard to catch off guard. "That guy's the vampire hunter."

Clyde blinks his eyes in shock. "Really?!" Then he widens his eyes. "Oh shit, he was closer to us than we thought!"

Butters nods his head. "Yeah, we gotta warn the Principal asap."

All of a sudden, Craig is sent sprawling to the ground right past them. He ends up skidding back against a dead tree, grunting upon impact. "M-motherfucker," he winces, a line of blood trickling from the side of his mouth down to his chin. The icy auras around his hands fade away while his eyes and pupils remain red and light blue. His boyfriends hurry to his side, helping him up on his feet.

"And you said you didn't need any help."

"S-shut up."

The three avert their attention to the vampire hunter when they hear him cracking his knuckles whilst taking a few steps towards them, his leather gloves failing to subdue the loud popping of his bones. "Good job blocking my punch at the last second, but it seems to have taken a lot out of you. How disappointing, I didn't even put a lot of strength into it."

Craig weakly bears his fangs. "W-we have to kill him."

"I don't think we stand a chance against a vampire hunter," Butters says.

"We won't know unless we try, the three of us can take him," Craig insists.

Butters shakes his head. "We cain't risk it, you're weakened. We have ta report him ta the Principal."

"You think I'll give you the chance?" The vampire hunter taunts.

"We have to kill him. The bastard is a vampire," Craig says.

This greatly shocks Butters and Clyde. "What?!" They ask in unison.

The vampire hunter laughs at their reaction. "That's right, I'm a vampire that's hunting down vampires. You wanna know why?" He frowns at them in frustration. "It's because most of you bloodsucking scum don't know how to behave yourselves, there's been dozens of cases where human corpses are found with their bodies sucked dry. But of course, none of you are aware of this since you all are plotting to most likely do the same or worse this deep in the woods, and that's the reason why I'm here. To stop you all." Chris takes a deep breath to calm down, then makes a face of realization. "Oh, that reminds me, I haven't introduced myself to you brats yet. My name is Chris King."

Craig separates himself from Butters and Clyde, his eyes narrowed in a fierce glare. The blow he blocked that was aimed at his chest is almost completely healed. "We don't give a shit about your name," Craig seethes, the auras of his ice magic returning. "And your reason for killing vampires is justifiable, but also bullshit."

"Yeah, we haven't even done anything to humans nor are we planning to...outside of the academy, that is," Clyde admits sheepishly.

"Clyde," Butters reprimands him.

"Sorry, sorry."

"Seriously Craig, we need ta-"

"If we leave, he'll kill everyone before we can even tell the Principal."

Craig does have a point, but like Butters said they don't really stand a chance against Chris, even if they team up against him.

"Hmm, ya know what? Go ahead an' warn them."

The three teens narrow their eyes suspiciously at the vampire hunter. "What the hell are you playin' at?" Clyde asks.

Craig launches an attack at Chris, who once again dodges him effortlessly. He chuckles. "Calm down, calm down. I'm merely giving you a chance to alert your Principal of my abrupt arrival. Or would you rather I just teleport there and kill everyone? I was planning to do that regardless."

Craig's anger escalates. "You-"

"Okay." Craig and Clyde look at Butters. "We'll tell the Principal. It's not like we needed your permission anyway."

"Butters-"

"He's givin' us the chance so let's not waste it, Craig."

"...Tch." Reluctantly, Craig dims away the auras from his hands, his eyes and pupils returning to their normal color.

"Don't worry, I won't teleport there. I'll walk instead," Chris says with a relaxed grin. He turns around stuffing his hands inside his trench coat pockets, and begins his leisure trek towards the academy.

The three vampire teens teleport straight to Principal Brimestone's office.

Just when most of the students, and half of the faculty and staff are about to call it a night, the Principal makes an unexpected announcement.

"Attention everyone, it appears that the vampire hunter was closer to us than we expected, and he is now making his way here. I have also been told that the man is a vampire." His statement sparks conversations of mixed feelings. "For the students' safety, they will all go and stay in the gymnasium with Henrietta, Luther, Zerphy, Ebony, Christophe, and Dr. Kero being their supervisors just as a precaution until everything has settled down. I'll only select three teachers to assist me in taking care of the vampire hunter." He pauses, it doesn't take him no longer than a few seconds to choose three fitting candidates. "Kurai, Damien, and Leon are to meet me down at the first floor in no less than two minutes. That is all for now, the next announcement will be after we've taken the vampire hunter down."

Once the intercom shuts off, only five out of the six administrators that were chosen to take the students to the gym do as instructed. Christophe goes with Damien to the first floor, refusing to be left out of the action. Damien doesn't bother trying to talk him out of following Michael's orders, he wouldn't listen to him anyway plus he didn't want him to leave his side.

In the Principal's office, Principal Brimestone turns to the three students who notified him of the vampire hunter's arrival. "You three are gonna get enough for sneaking out of academy grounds, you're lucky to have escaped the vampire hunter with no injuries," he scolds them. "I'll let it slide this once since we have time to prepare for his attack, but I won't be so lenient the next time you guys break academy regulations."

Butters appears both grateful and understanding while Craig and Clyde look unconcerned about them avoiding punishment. "We don't get a thank you?" Butters elbows Clyde in his side.

"Go join the rest in the gym," Principal Brimestone tells them before walking past them towards the door.

"Let me come with you," Craig says. He wasn't able to land a single hit on Chris, and that hasn't been sitting well with him.

The man pauses in front of the door. "No, four against one is more than enough," he says waving his hand dismissively. He then cocks his head back, a sly grin spreading across his lips. "Or could it be that you wanna fight alongside your big brother?"

Silence. The frigid glint of resentment emerging within Craig's eyes would've made anyone feel immensely regretful about the choice of words they spoke to him, but not the Principal. Instead, he just chuckles whilst opening the door, then walks out closing it behind him.

Clyde and Butters, both sporting a nervous frown on their faces, look to their boyfriend. They are well aware of the history between Craig and Mr. Edgewood, in fact, the noirette himself spilled everything about his past to them so they know more than just that. However, not without some warming up to first.

"Craig..." Butters utters softly.

"Let's just go."

Craig teleports out of the office. Butters and Clyde follow after him, knowing where he went.

Unsurprisingly to Kurai, Damien, Christophe, and Leon, Michael is the last one to be at the destination he told them all to assemble to.

"No less than two minutes, huh?" Damien reiterates teasingly. Kurai merely shakes his head at Michael's tardiness, his arms crossed.

"We could've been fighting zhe vampire 'unter already while you were taking your sweet time getting 'ere."

Michael glares at Christophe. "I'm pretty sure I ordered you to escort the students to the gym." He then directs his glare at the Frenchman's boyfriend for failing to stop him.

Damien raises his hands up defensively. "If he didn't listen to you, what makes you think he'll listen to me?"

Christophe scowls at him. "I'm not some fucking pet."

"Babe, that's not what I meant."

"What zhe did I tell you about calling me zhat?!"

While Leon stifles a laugh and Kurai shakes his head once again, Michael just sighs. This is exactly why he didn't pick Christophe. The man may be strong, but his attitude is intolerable to deal with most of the time, plus if him and Damien are together, they become practically unbearable to deal with like some of the students.

"The one who's really taking their sweet time is the vampire hunter," Kurai says. "I sense his presence outside, but the bastard isn't even several meters away."

"Should we just go out and attack him instead?" Damien asks.

"I wouldn't mind, but I don't feel like getting wet," Leon comments.

"Hmph, pussy," Christophe remarks harshly. Leon simply ignores him.

"Actually, there's something I need to tell you all," Michael says. "Chris apparently took up being a vampire hunter because a bunch of rouge vampires have been leaving behind evidence of our existence on humans, and he thinks we're plotting to do the same by drinking all of the humans dry throughout Colorado."

While Damien looks on the verge of laughing, Christophe, Leon, and Kurai are rendered stunned in disbelief.

"That's...a farfetched assumption," Leon ends up saying.

"What a fucking idiot. If we wanted to drink all zhe 'umans 'ere, we would've done zhat ages ago."

Suddenly, one of the front doors open. Ambling in is the vampire hunter. "Did I bore you all so much that you decided to talk shit about me to pass time?"

Damien shrugs. "Yeah, pretty much," he says nonchalantly.

Chris scans how many vampires there are, and he's unable to contain his disappointment. "There's only five of you here?" The wind outside gradually pulls the door closed.

Michael smirks at his dejected expression and tone. "What? Were you expecting to go up against everyone in this building?"

"Wouldn't that have been better so this can end quickly?"

"No." Chris looks to who said that, it was the Asian vampire who's uncrossing his arms. Appearing in the palm of his right hand are dozens of tiny red energy particles, they materialize into a katana with a cobra patterned black and white hilt, the guard a shiny silver, and the blade a deep crimson. Gripping the hilt, he points his weapon at Chris. "I don't like giving my prey a quick and easy death. I like to make them suffer."

Chris doesn't appear even the slightest bit disturbed by his threat. "Cool sword ya got there," he praises coolly.

Arching his arm back, Kurai slides one foot forward then leaps into the air towards Chris.

"Try not to get too much blood on the floor," Michael calls out to him.

"Yeah, or Henrietta will bitch at us about it," Damien adds with a cringe, Leon cringing as well while Christophe just stifles a laugh as they imagine the woman nagging them to near death about dirtying the building.
