Ready for some more fun?
Triplets.
Well, how the fuck did that happen? Hey, I was a mother, I knew how that happened, but three?
This was a joke. It had to be.
I couldn't be a mother of three kids yet!
"Bella, you with me there?" I faintly heard Edward talking but taking in the fact that I had triplets had kinda taken over.
"Hell no, my mind is still on three babies," I muttered as I waited for my third baby to cry.
Silence.
More silence.
"Emmett, is it okay?" I asked tearfully.
"She's doing beautifully, Bella. They just need to help her out with a little oxygen. She's got a little bit of chilled out vibe going on at the moment," he smiled warmly, and I should have relaxed, but I couldn't.
She.
I had another girl!
"Can... can she not breathe on her own?" I asked, ready for the full onset of tears.
"She can, baby, she just needs a little help, right Emmett?" Edward cut in as he stroked my hairline.
What seemed like hours later, I saw three nurses holding a bundle each, two pink and one blue.
And that's when the tears started and wouldn't stop.
"Baby C weighs a good three pounds, three ounces and she's doing just fine," the nurse with the smallest bundle said gently as she angled my baby down so I could see her tiny scrunched up face.
"So small," I whispered.
"She is," Edward chuckled next to me as a nurse handed him our other daughter.
"Would you like the other two?" one other nurse asked, but I shook my head.
"I feel too sick," And I did. I didn't know how I had managed to stave it off.
"That's just the meds, they'll be out of your system soon enough," she replied.
"Hey, Edward?" I asked with a smirk.
"Yeah, baby?"
"I'm glad you didn't faint," I giggled.
…
"So, let me get this straight, Baby C was up under my rib cage?" I asked Emmett, who was sat at the end of the bed.
Our babies were now just over six hours old, and I was finally sitting up in bed trying to pump out as much milk as I could for the little ones.
It was interesting, to say the least. I felt like a milking cow. It was hard going, though. They said I'd only produce a little bit to start with and they weren't wrong.
"Yep, all non-identical. You must have released three eggs in one cycle. It's not unheard of, but it's not common either. And they're all really great sizes for their gestation. Going thirty-two weeks with three is great, too. You did brilliant, Bella. You've just had the equivalent of an eleven-pound baby. Damn good for a woman so small," he chuckled as he pointed to my little heartbreaker that Edward was holding.
"Amazing," Edward mused as he stroked the face of our little girl on the picture he was holding, "how this little one hid all that time," he smiled.
"So, anyway, I have left more messages with the family, but they're all out shopping. They're gonna kick themselves when they get here," Emmett laughed.
We hadn't told them on any of the messages that we had a little hider of a baby. It would be interesting to see what they said.
"Thanks, Emmett," I smiled widely, trying to hide the pain of my stomach.
"Time for meds, I think," Edward cut in, giving me a stern look. I could never hide anything from him.
"It's safe for them, right?" I asked as Emmett went in search of drugs.
"Sure, it was the first thing I asked when they were stitching you up," Edward said as he stood up and reverently handed me the picture of our babies.
They were currently in the nursery, getting some much-needed oxygen and some special lights for their skin. Emmett expected them to have some jaundice and wanted to get them on the right path from the start. He may be a dick, but he was a brilliant dick, if I do say so myself.
…
"I shit you not," I laughed as Rose's eyes went wider than ever.
Everyone was staring at me and Edward as I held our two girls and Edward had our boy. They were dumbstruck. This was saying a lot because Rose talked at a mile a minute.
We were all sitting in the nursery section, a place I loved and hated. The babies were all in one goldfish bowl type of crib, snuggled together, until Emmett said we could hold them. I jumped at the chance, but I was shit scared, too.
"Hang on, you got one free?" Liam, my dick of a brother, asked completely puzzled.
"It doesn't exactly work like that, Liam." I laughed hard until my stomach started to hurt again.
"Relax, baby," Edward cooed into my ear as I leaned over to kiss him.
"So, come on, introduce us," Esme smiled widely as she stepped a little further forward.
"Belle, three babies?" Ashley finally spoke up, and I could see the confusion in her eyes.
"Yes, Ashley, three babies," I sniffed.
"Huh," she muttered before getting Emmett to pick her up.
Dad was standing in the corner, quietly watching me with a smile on his face and Mom had latched on to Esme like a walking stick.
"Well, this is Charlotte Elizabeth Cullen," I said proudly as I nodded my head to the biggest of our girls.
"And this is Nicolas Emmett Cullen," Edward cut in, holding his son so proudly.
"And last but not least, this is Natahlia Rose Cullen," I said tearfully as I watched my tiny girl sleeping.
They all had blue eyes at the moment, from what we saw, but other than that, they looked completely different.
Charlotte had Edward's hair color, and Nicolas had mine, but Natahlia was a perfect mix of the two of us.
"Well, I suppose we'll have to do a lot more shopping now," Mom giggled as everyone took a step closer to look at our beautiful children.
"Just don't go mad," Edward said before I had a chance to.
"Yeah, we don't need much more," I said as I stared into Edward's eyes.
Six damn weeks.
"Okay, well we should leave you guys to it. We'll pop back later," Emmett said, and the others agreed.
"Sure," I said with a smile as he brought Ashley over to us.
I gave her a kiss and a quick hug, around the babies, and told her to be good.
"So, mommy, as I got an extra cousin, can I have a kitten?" We heard her ask Rose as they walked out of the room.
…
It was finally quiet. Well, as quiet as it could be when you're in a hospital full of crying babies and wailing new moms.
So, yeah, not that quiet at all.
I was finally starting to get some feeling back in my legs and I'd been having a staring competition with my big toe for the last half hour, willing it to twitch. Nothing.
Edward was currently hunting down some half-decent food for me. I was starving, exhausted, and exhilarated at the same time. What a strange combination of moods.
"Knock, knock!" Came a sing-song voice and before I could even answer, an older woman popped her head in the door, grinning like that pink dressed woman in one of the Harry Potter movies. What the heck was her name? Didn't she like kittens? Fuck knows.
"Hello, Deary. I'm just doing my walk around of the postnatal suite and I heard that you've been given the new title of mommy! How exciting! Now, I don't want to take up too much of your time, but I just wanted to know if you've thought much about contraception, now that your little one is with you?"
Bitch say what?
"Excuse me?"
"Well, with the little one being here now and with you being so young, I thought it prudent to talk to you before you leave the hospital, Deary," the bitch continued.
Just as I was about to open my mouth, I heard Edwards and Emmett talking just outside the door.
It was all too much.
Seriously.
"First of all, my name is Bella, not Deary. Secondly, I gave birth to three babies not even nine hours ago. Thirdly, my age has fuck all to do with being a mom, fuck all to do with you or any other fucker that wants to think that they have the privilege of having an opinion. Fourthly, I will have more children when I am good and fucking ready and it will be after I get this damn catheter out of my bladder and I can actually get my fucking feet to move, now kindly remove yourself from my room before I throw something at you!" I wailed as Edward and Emmett rushed through the door.
"You say anything to me about overreacting, Edward and the only contraception I'll be using will be two bricks on your bollocks," I huffed as the woman bolted from the room.
"Fucking contraception!"
True fact: Nine hours after I gave birth to my daughter by emergency C-section, suffering from horrendous Eclampsia and having a blood clot in my leg, I had a cheery woman come to my room to ask about contraception. It wasn't a pleasant meeting, I can tell you that.
