Ch. 4- Entrance Exam pt. 1
{Greetings from beyond the screen my fellow readers writers and DR4C0 here with a new chapter with a few things;
1st- This chapter was inspired by Chapter 112 of the manga or episode 21 of the third season of the anime timestamp 11:44.}
It's been a year since I met my fiance Akane Okami. I'm fourteen and studying in my room. I've been working on different techniques so I won't be a one trick pony and for my personal improvement. It couldn't be done without Akana's help. Nova has been able to increase his temperature output to temperatures as hot as the sun however only for a minute or two, Glacius has started using a thicker fog in combat mainy for his disappearing act and Raiden has especially benefited from Akana's help with the addition of his new plasma coils with them he can now capture someone, syphon their own electricity from their muscles and electrocute them at their own bioelectrical frequency.
"Ken," I hear my father call me downstairs.
As I walk down and I ask, "Yeah dad?"
He holds an envelope with a wax seal of the U.A. symbol on it.
He informs me, "You got a letter."
"Epic thanks," I respond. "But why would U.A. be writing to me?" I ask.
My father smirks, chuckles and says, "I'll find out." I then begin to walk back up the stairs when he says, "Oh and Ken." I turn back to him, "Don't tell your mother about this."
I nod and continue to walk.
An hour later.
Okay I still haven't opened it. The possibilities of why would I receive a letter from them now when there are still two weeks for the exam…
"Just open it already, goddamn it!" Nova yelled out of impatience.
I do.
There was a little disk… puck… inside. I place it on my desk, it activates, projecting a hologram.
There was a creature on the projection, it was a mouse, cat, bear… thing wearing a waistcoat and matching dress pants.
"Hello, Kenshi Hayabusa-Kun. I am Nezu, the principal of U.A. High School!" The rodent spoke, introducing itself… himself, "I'm sure you're wondering why we sent you a letter. Well, let me explain!" Nezu said, cheerfully, "Well, you see. You, Kenshi Hayabusa-Kun, are an exceptional case, or a rather unique case, which we have in hands." No that got my attention, "As of right now. You're registered to take the entrance exam at our school, which is going to take place in two weeks. However, this is the unique part. You, Hayabusa Kenshi, have also been recommended to our school."
"Wait, what?" That didn't make sense. I was recommended? Was this some kind of prank?
"I'm sure you're confused about this," Nezu continued. "You see, people normally get recommended through academics or physical grades from a renowned middle school, but also through the influence of one of their family members. Be that because they're heroes or people really important," The rodent informed me. "We are fully aware that your grades as of right now are some of the best in your school, academically and physically, but your school… …It really embarrasses me that these are the kind of rules we have. Also, in your family, there is someone who is a pro hero."
"Then how have I been recommended?" I thought. I wasn't mad or anything, just confused.
He paused for dramatic effect and smiled, "We would be making a grave mistake if we were to ignore something like this. That's why we have decided to accept it."
"Wait, who was it? Do I know them?"
"Damn, you're denser than the ice I create," Glacius says nonchalantly.
"That's what brings us to our current problem. We would like to know if you want to take the normal entrance exams as it was programmed or do you want to take the recommended student's exam. Please, send us an answer as soon as possible. Thank you very much for your time, Kenshi Hayabusa-Kun. We'll be waiting for your answer," And with that, the disk shut down, leaving me very confused.
Three days later at U.A. High.
The principal Nezu was walking with a content smile on his face through one of the many corridors of academia.
After arriving at his destination, he entered a meeting room, where really nice jazz music was playing to light up the ambience.
"Ah, I'm glad all of you made it in such short notice," The rodent said, greeting all his colleagues.
Every teacher was present, in their seats.
"That's fine, but we would like to know why you call us," The Blood Hero: Vlad King spoke.
"Yes, is it something important?" The pro Hero Ectoplasm agreed with his fellow teacher.
"Oh, no. It's nothing like that. This is just about one of the examinees who after a short explanation of his situation, he gave us an answer I didn't see coming. So, I'd like to have your opinion on the matter and if you approve of it or not." Nezu explained while scaling the desk.
Everybody in the room perked up at that. Something that not even Nezu foresaw? Then, this needs their full attention.
"To be honest with all of you. I'm thrilled and I'm in favor of the idea, but I'd like all of you to be with me in this decision," the rodent spoke while placing a disk on the center of the desk and then going to his seat. "To give you a quick preview. The examinee was going to take the normal entrance exam, but he, later on, got recommended by a pro hero. I told him to give us an answer about which exam he was going to take and he… … Well, I let him explain it to you." He pushed a button of a remote in his hand.
A hologram was displayed for everyone.
"H-hello? It's this working…? I followed the instructions so it should be working." A young man with draconic features appeared.
"Kenshi?!" Midnight shouted well standing.
"Oh, so you know him?" Aizawa questioned them, while Nezu paused the video.
"W-well," this get's everyone's undivided attention, it's not often that she acts like this. "Well several years ago I found out I was barren," this shocks everyone even more, Nemuri has also so lively so to hear her say this out loud is have to say the least. "And this," she gestures to the hologram. "Is my son, Kenshi Hayabusa."
"I see," Eraser Head said in recognition. "But my intention was to know if you were the one who recommended him. It would be very unprofessional if it was the case."
"I have done no such thing," she said with a straight face.
"Well, let's calm down. Also, she wasn't the one who recommended him, Aizawa-Kun. If you go by their reaction, then you can see that she was really surprised at this turn of events." Nezu intervened.
"YEAH!" The Voice Hero: Present Mic let his presence be known, he was taking his good time for it, "what's wrong, Eraser?! You're not often like this!" He questioned his friend, "OH! It must be because he would be somewhat trailed, am I right. You and your quezically mind." Yamada nodded to his flawless logic.
"You're actually right on the money for once," Aizawa answered.
"Wow! This is one of the few times I've got something like this right." Mic shrugged before taking out a small notebook.
Midnight began to glare at the man who knew nothing about her son, but Nezu didn't let her.
"Well, shall we continue?" When everyone nodded, he pressed the play button.
"Um. Thanks for your words, Principal Nezu. And I'm really flattered that this opportunity has presented itself to me and… I'm conflicted. I want to take the normal entrance exam like some friends of mine, but I also want to take the opportunity that this person sees me worthy of having… That's why… If it was possible…" Kenshi looked at the camera with determination. "I would like to take both exams as a challenge to myself," The video was paused.
"There you have it. This hasn't happened even once throughout the U.A.'s history. And that's why I want your opinion on the matter." Nezu said with a smile.
Everyone was surprised beyond belief.
Midnight, in particular, was biting her lips and fidgeting with her legs. A small look of irrigation was presented on her face, 'This is bad… If I know you Ken then I can already guess what you'll do… Why must you make things more complicated Ken.'
All the teachers began to discuss the matter at hand, and soon afterwards, the room went silent.
All of them raised their right hand and spoke, "We agree with Kenshi Hayabusa to take both exams."
"I disagree," The jazz music in the background stopped.
All the heads snapped in the direction of the person who said that. Surprisingly or unsurprisingly it was Shota Aizawa.
"WHAT?!" Midnight slammed her hands against the desk, "What exactly do you have against him?!" She was a little more than furious.
The other teacher went silent. None of them were that stupid to get in the way of a mad woman, especially a mother.
"I'm not saying that he cannot take both. I'm saying that it's simply not enough. If he wants this to be a real challenge, then… how about… If he doesn't pass both exams, he won't be accepted." Aizawa said.
"Why?!" Nemuri yelled again, "For someone who claims to be logical, you're being very irrational right now!"
"Settle down, please," Nezu intervened. "And actually, Aizawa-Kun. I don't think there is a problem with your request."
Everyone looked at the principal in a strange way. He just continued the video.
"And… If I don't pass both exams then, please, don't accept me," Kenshi said. "I want to feel that I deserve to be in U.A. High. Thanks for your attention. And if this is not possible, then I'll take the normal entrance exam," And with a bow from the kid, the recording reached its end.
Midnight sets down in her seat if this is what her son wanted then she would support him.
"Will that be enough, Aizawa-Kun?" The principal asked his colleague.
"He… hehe… hehehe. No." Shota said with a straight face.
If it wasn't because All Might and Vlad King had a very good reaction time, Midnight would be over Eraser Head right now, strangling him. And even though All Might was in his buff form, he was still having problems to restrain the woman.
Aizawa, on the other hand, was smirking at her reaction with amusement. So this was an enraged mother, but this was also the perfect payback for egging him on to become a teacher against his own will all those years ago.
"I'm not saying he should do more. So, unless he gets first place in at least one of the two exams, I don't want this potentially problematic child to be placed with another teacher." He said to Nezu.
"Ho? Bold of you to assume he would be placed in your class." Vlad King voiced his displeasure about his colleague's arrogance.
"I'm not being arrogant, but going by logic, the most problematic children would be placed with me due to my Quirk. I may not be able to disrupt his Mutant Type Quirk." Shota explained his flawless logic, "But if I can get rid of at least one of those burdens beforehand, then I want to take that opportunity."
"Hmm, I see," Nezu spoke while contemplating what the others said. "Okay, then I allow that, Aizawa-Kun," The teacher nodded in gratitude. "However, if he placed first in one of the exams, he's not only going to be placed with you. You will also have to nurture him with whatever he needs on his path to become a hero. If that requires you to take extra hours, then you will do it without complaining. Also, because you're the only one who has been complaining about all of this situation and showing your displeasure for one of our possible students, then if he gets first place, you also will have to do something you wouldn't normally do as a punishment. You cannot demand without giving, so I hope you agree with all of this," The principal finished.
Shota sweat dropped for a moment but nodded nevertheless.
"Hm." Everyone turned to look at Midnight who had a smug on her face, "You're going to regret this, Eraser."
"It's not that easy to get first place," he countered.
Midnight's smug look turns to a smirk, "No, seriously Shota you're going to reject this."
"Then it's settled!" Nezu announced, "Kenshi Hayabusa will take both; the normal entrance exam and the recommended students' exam. You can go now."That night Nemuri walks into her house, she sighs and yells, "YAMATO! KENSHI!"
It was then that both men knew that they were in trouble.
Kenshi(POV)
The day of the recommendation entrance exam came, and I was punctual.
After confirming my attendance, we went to an auditorium where the Principal Nezu gave them a brief explanation of the exam.
"Hello everyone! I'm Nezu, the Principal of U.A." The rodent greeted, "I'm glad all of you made it in time, but let the formalities for later and go right into the exam! Please pay attention. The exam consists of three parts. First is the written exam. You will be assigned to a classroom to take it. There will be a time limit for an hour so please pay attention to the clock. Needless to say, if we catch any of you cheating the person in question will be sent home with no possibilities to take the exam ever again," even though he smiled, everyone saw how serious he was about it, "After the exam is over, you will do a practical test which will be explained by the designated teacher. Finally, for those who have passed these two tests and will have an interview with… ME!" Nezu began to laugh maniacally.
We are then given our classroom to take the written test.
I took a look at my surroundings before moving, I can estimate that there were probably a hundred students taking the exam, "I expected more people but I guess this shows how selective they are."
After arriving at my classroom, I sat in my designated chair at the back. Apparently, it would be 10 people per classroom.
'A good strategy to prevent cheating,' Glacius informs
Then our teacher arrived, the Pro Hero Cementoss, he was going to be observing us.
The written test was not that hard, but not that easy either. A girl with a black spiky ponytail was the first one to finish in an impressive time of half the time given. I finished ten minutes later, being the fourth to finish.
They were dismissed as we handed over our tests.
45 minutes passed and I along with the others were sent to change clothes for the practical test and meet outside in the designated area.
I put on my gray and blue tracksuit and stood barefoot.
"Hey! How are you doing, little listeners?!" Present Mic announced himself.
I had to cover my ears, Present Mic was extra loud to me.
The Pro hero seemed to notice this so he decided to contain himself a little, "I will be the one overseeing the practical test, so let me tell what is all about!" He said in a lower tone, "The practical test is… An obstacle course!" Some of the examinees got excited. "The participants will race six at a time through our course which is designed so you can't get to the finish line only by running, so you better use everything you got! The use of Quirks is allowed so better get creative! What's not allowed is to mess with other examinees! That would mean a disqualification!"
I took a look around and I was more surprised by the number of people remaining.
Raiden whistles, 'There are only 24 people with us included… So many failed the written test? Did they take the results so quickly?'
Glacius chuckles, 'It showed that U.A. isn't playing around.'
"Okay! Now put these numbers on and when your number is called, go to the starting line!" Mic said while passing them stamps with numbers.
I was number 100, apparently, it was the number in the attendance list and I was the last person to be registered for taking the exam.
The first six people were called. I tried to make it a game to ease my feelings. I tried to guess who would win the race in each group.
'Hmm…' Nova says, 'This isn't easy. All of them look really strong in their own right.' My eyes went to one of them in particular when I saw the smile on the girl's face, I knew the result, 'Number 55 is going to win.'
The girl had mossy green hair and the confident smile told him that she had this in the bag. She was wearing a white loose tank top with blue shorts sporting her sculptural fit body.
"Start!" Mic yelled, firing a fake pistol.
N. 55 split her body as she began to float away.
I was floured, this Quirk was fascinating, it was a shame I couldn't ask her about it, just yet at least.
Twenty minutes later the second group was called.
'Hm… I'll take my bet on N. 16.' Raiden says.
"Start!" Present Mic shouted again.
I was startled by N. 16 Quirk, whatever that was. The pale teen submerged himself in the ground like it was water. After the time passed, the third group began to be called.
"Number 41!" Mike called the fourth person.
"Yes, sir!" A very energetic and enthusiastic young man stepped up, he was very tall and had a great built body with buzzed dark brown hair and black eyes, an instant candidate for taking first place.
"Number 100!" Mic shouted his number with a big smile.
When I took a step, I could immediately feel the stares of everyone at me, there wasn't a single soul who wasn't looking at me.
"Hey, check out his Quirk."
"Yeah, look at it, I wonder what kind of skill he has…"
The gossip didn't make itself wait.
I just ignored them with a gentle smile.
"And lastly, Number 23!" Mic announced the last examinee.
N. 23 was a reasonably tall teen, whose hair was evenly split into two colors: white on his right-side and crimson red on his left, he also had heterochromia iridum making his left iris of a turquoise color, while his right was brownish dark gray. However what got the most of my attention was the large burn scar on the left side of his face. Despite that, he was good looking, though those eyes looked too cold for my liking.
Something was immediately obvious for me, 'I'm in the middle of the two biggest powerhouses in the entire exam.'
3rd(POV)
Meanwhile in a control room.
"Wait a minute. Why is Kenshi there? He was supposed to be in the second group," Nemuri asked, though she already knew the answer. "Neezu~ It was you, wasn't it?" She narrowed her eyes at the principal who was drinking tea.
"Ahahahah! I'm completely guilty!" He said madly.
"Did you seriously have to put him against Endeavor's son?!" She was a little mad… just a little.
"Your son said he wanted a challenge, right?" Aizawa spoke with a creepy smile on his face.
Midnight just clicked her tongue as she and the other teacher watched the race that was about to begin.
Back at the obstacle course, the six participants were ready.
Present Mic had the gun up in the air. A big smile appeared on his face. "*Bang* Start!"
N. 23 took first place by staking ice to propel himself to great speed.
N. 41 was surprised by it, but after a second he matched the speed of 23 with a gust of wind around his body.
They both looked at each other for a second thinking that this race was between them, however, their thoughts were shattered when a black and blue blur surpassed them.
They weren't the only ones surprised. No one watching them expected someone to move so fast by just running on all fours. Only he wasn't, he was using his Quirk at its minimum; he channeled ice through his horns to direct the air downward(for hot air rises and cold air sinks), electricity through his arms and wing(to attract his body further and to the ground and to accelerate the air going under his wings) and igniting his legs(for short bursts of speed). All of these factors combined into a constantly accelerating creature.
{N/A: He hasn't transformed yet.}
The two increase their speed to match the dragonoid. However they were continuously being out paced, but this wasn't a race in a straight line and the first obstacle was hurdles.
Kenshi spread his wings, completely ignited the fire from his feet and flew, flying over all of them in one go.
Finishing the first obstacle, they came across the next.
41, 23 and 100 cross it like the last one without any problem.
The next obstacle was an abyss and the only way to continue was to jump through pillars separated by 5 meters each. Each of them flew up without a problem.
Continuing on the race, the next obstacle was easy to spot.
A climb of a little mountain of about 50 meters of height and then from the top, cross a suspension bridge to another mountain, then another one to finally climb down.
'Where do they get these things?' Raiden questions in Kenshi's mind.
Unfortunately for him he needed to rest the Emission portion of his Quirk.
41 like every obstacle before this one, just propel himself with wind up the mountain.
23 did the same but with his ice.
'Is there something for these guys to make them slow down?' The dragonoid was annoyed.
He climbed just as fast as he could.
41, or better known as Inasa, stopped at the top and began to walk as fast through the bridge. His Quirk was good, but he needed to be close to a solid surface to propel himself and this bridge wasn't sturdy enough. It wasn't like he could fly or at least not without a proper suit. So, better safe than sorry here.
23, AKA Shoto did the same when he got to the top. If he used his ice on the bridge, there was a high chance that it would break. So, he opted for the same as 41.
When they both were in the middle of the second bridge, they saw the dragonoid get to the top of the mountain.
'We still have a fair distance from him.' They thought.
They were wrong.
Kenshi began to run through the bridge like a madman, however the bridge didn't move. He had a great sense of balance and agility so he could bond from one side of the bridge to the other without altering his competitors. Until it was too late.
'Shit,' They both think at the same time while hastening their pace. They certainly were not expecting such agility and mobility in the exam.
At the drop they both began their descent using their Quirk, though at a slower pace, being careful about it. Though it was still faster than climbing down. But the dragonoid was running down, at almost 90 degrees. He was truly insane.
When Kenshi got to base, he kicked off from the base and flew again. This was his opportunity to get first and he was going to take it.
The two powerhouses just had to try harder.
The next bit of insanity was… a roller-coaster. It wasn't actually an obstacle; it was there so the participants got a moment to rest. However, it was necessary to get to the next section of the course. And made out of individual wagons so whoever got to it first, got an advantage.
Kenshi was the first to arrive, with Shoto following close behind, but Inasa wasn't that far. In fact they both departed at the same time. With Kenshi resting his quirk, the glowing elemental veins slowly downing down, Shoto would use this time to treat his frostbite and Inasa to catch his breath. Now they just had to wait for the slow roller-coaster to take speed.
The next obstacle was a stone hill with holes. In the first half, pillars of fire came out of the holes in intervals of 3 seconds each. In the second half, there was no fire but it was covered in slippery ice, finally the hill ended in a cliff with a little lake at the bottom and continuing with a forest.
The two powerhouses had to stop their Quirks due to the fire pillars.
Another opportunity has arisen.
Kenshi on the other hand never slowed down, with swift maneuvering and he's fire absorption, he not only dodged but also speed up because of the fire and extended his lead even more. At the ice however the two thought Kenshi would slow down but they were wrong.
He used the claws on all fours to get a better grip, he's lead might have decreased his speed a bit but his pace never slowed.
After finishing with the ice, Kenshi instead of jumping like a bird, he decided to propel himself from the rock just to fall faster. The water would have been refreshing, but he flew over the water and entered the forest.
Those two monsters however didn't even touch the water of the lake when they jumped off the cliff, and submerged themselves right into the forest.
Meanwhile, N. 41, N. 23 and Kenshi, who were fighting to get the upper hand, arrived at a hard obstacle if not the hardest of the entire test.
A labyrinth cave. At the entrance of the cave, there was a basket with flashlights and a screen with a sign telling that the map of the labyrinth would be shown for 10 seconds when a participant used their fingerprint, only once per examinee. There was also another sign telling them to be careful with rocks falling from the ceiling. This obstacle was a challenge for the mind instead of the body.
The two powerhouses couldn't do much but complied and slowed down.
Kenshi on the other hand, didn't.
When Kenshi arrived at the cave, he looked at everything, "Okay, flashlights… I don't need them," his night vision was better, "The map…" he was interrupted when he heard chirps coming from inside the cave.
Nova smiled when he heard those sounds, 'You don't need it either,' he said.
Kenshi stopped for a second, then smiled, "Okay." And with that he ran inside.
He knew exactly why he said that, it's a developing skill he has been developing; Dragon Vision, he basically uses all of his senses to create a 3-D image of his surroundings.
When he entered, he noticed something, a smell so disgusting Kenshi covered his nose immediately, "Agh, guano." When he heard those chirps again, it only confirmed what he thought, "Yup that figures." He smiles as he got what Nova said by not needing the map, he would have to endure the stench of guano, but utilizing that, the chirps and his night vision, he could find the other exit easily than trying to remember the right path, instead of trusting in his memory, he would trust in nature.
So, the dragonoid ran through the cave taking every turn in the right direction.
Shoto went ahead and ran into the cave after taking a flashlight and looking at the map.
Inasa, on the other hand, took his time, he didn't want to make a mistake.
Inasa was also moving in the right direction when he heard something from behind. The tall young man turned around, pointing his flashlight at whatever made the sound. A pile of rocks flew in the path, focusing him to continue on this path.
Shoto had been good on his track, but this was taking longer than he thought.
The bicolor boy heard something behind him. He turns his head to see N. 41 passes him with a serious look.
Shoto was a little shocked, but after shaking his head he decided to run after him.
After different turns without even stopping to consider them. The two powerhouses saw the light of the sun.
They finally came out to the other side of the forest. The duel came across a river. Actually, the next obstacle was to go up a waterfall from where wood logs were coming down. The two of them noticed their opponent already jumping from log to log up the waterfall.
"Thanks," with that word, Shoto used his ice to move faster.
That startled the tall young man, but then a wide smile appeared on his face, "You're welcome but still I'm going to win!" After saying that, he used his Quirk and started moving, chasing after the son of Endeavor.
As they passed the dragonoid, he narrowed his eyes and rockets toward the top of the waterfall.
[Insert Adrenaline by Shinedown]
As he rounded the waterfall, he somehow knew that this was the final section of the race so it was all of nothing now.
Kenshi then transformed and flew completely with no assistance.
Continuing flying, he came across the wall of a fortress blocking his path and if that wasn't enough, there were explosions going off around it.
Kenshi didn't stop nor question the sanity of the person who made this course. And taking advantage of his momentum, he flew over the explosions and up the wall, completely soaring over the fortress.
He eyes the rest of the course to find that the last obstacle was a long run with no obstacle whatsoever and then there was the finish line.
The two powerhouses were halfway there.
A toothy grin of excitement appeared on his face as he dived down.
'Are you speed?!' Nova asked when he saw the opportunity.
"I'm speed!" Kenshi answered with a smile.
This was going to be fun.
He knew he needed to go as fast as he could. He shot himself forward like a bullet. His entire head froze over into an arrowhead made of ice, his torso was consumed by lightning and the lower half of his body ignited into a volcano of flames.
Inasa and Shoto were trying to surpass each other when they heard something.
"RAAAAAAHHHHHGGGG!"
They both spared a glimpse behind them. Their eyes widened in surprise. An elemental dragon was rocketing towards them with blinding speed.
They didn't have an option than to use their quirks at their maximum output or else the first place was going to be stolen from them.
Present Mic was waiting for them at the finish line, and he had to admit he was excited.
He wasn't the only one, though. The teachers in the control room and the examinees of the previous groups who were there were at the tip of their seats.
Time seemed to stop when the trio was at the finish line, revealing the winner.
"IT'S A PHOTO FINISH!" Mic yelled. "THE ONE WHO HIT THE GOAL FIRST WAS… NUMBER 100 BY JUST A NOSE! FOLLOWED BY NUMBER 41! THEY ALMOST LOST THEIR PANTS TO NUMBER 23 THOUGH!"
In the control room, Aizawa let out a low groan.
Only two of the monster trio stopped.
"Hit the brake! Hit the brake! Hit the brake!" Kenshi's personas yelled as they saw that he wasn't stopping due to having so much speed.
He pulls himself back, his power dissipates, his body went vertical and his wings act like a parachute.
Two of the examinees ran to him for congratulations.
"Oh my god! That was amazing!" The examinee N. 55 said in awe.
"Damn man, what a way to finish it." N. 16 spoke.
"Yeah it was really a go big or go home type of thing," Kenshi said sarcastically while powering down. "And I'm still alive and nothing seems broken, so I'd say I'm okay," he had used too much of his powers resulting in the elemental veins showing throughout his body.
He then noticed that they were the ones from the first group.
Meanwhile in the control room.
Nemuri looked up proudly, then a smirk appeared on her face when she turned to Shota, "I told you, you were going to regret this."
Eraser opted to ignore her, however on the inside, 'Maybe I made a mistake with this bet.'
The dragonoid got first, this exam consisted of getting a lower time than everyone else and he got first by milliseconds.
Time Skip
The young dragon arrived at the interview room after changing his clothes. There he only found the Principal, Nezu, waiting for him at the door.
"I guess I'm the last one," Kenshi said with a gentle smile.
"Indeed the other examinees went home already," Nezu responded. "Now, come in," they entered the room. "Please take a seat," he did. "Now then, it's a pleasure to finally meet you in person, Hayabusa Kenshi-Kun."
"Likewise, Principal Nezu."
"Okay, let's start by reviewing your performance today," Kenshi nodded. "Just you along with another person were the only ones to get a perfect score in the written test. Congratulations," the young dragon bowed humbly. "In the practical test, you got first place among everyone else."
"The last part of the exam. This interview is just me telling people if they passed or not. And you, Hayabusa Kenshi-Kun, have passed. Congratulations." Nezu began to clap his paws, "But this isn't over yet for you."
"Yes."
"Now before you go, I would like to ask some questions."
"Yes, sir." Kenshi prepared himself.
"Why do you want to be a Pro Hero?" The rodent asked.
"A Pro Hero…" He trailed off, "I want a license to finally save people legally, sir."
"… …Pff-hahahahahahaha!" Nezu began to laugh uncontrollably, "Nobody, in all my years as principal, has ever given me that answer!" This kid just kept surprising him, of all the answers, he predicted in his head, this was the only one that wasn't there, "I see. So, this is just another step in your way to your dream." Kenshi nodded, "That's great! Now the last question…" The atmosphere got serious all of a sudden, "How do I smell you?"
It took a moment for Kenshi to process it, he smiled mischievously and said, "You smell delicious, sir."
"Hahahaha! I see, I see. So, if you pass, I will have to watch my back around the campus," Kenshi began to laugh as well. "That's enough jokes for today. I will see you in three days, Hayabusa Kenshi-Kun."
"Yes, sir," they both shared a smile, then Kenshi stood up and left.
Nezu stood there looking at the door, "How strange… for a second, it felt like you and I were the same."
3rd(POV)
It's been two days since the recommendation entrance exam.
"Ken-Ken," I know the voice of my beloved fiance anywhere.
I turn to see Akane jogging towards me, "Hey there Kam."
Akane's eyes narrow at me, it's funny she's changed somewhat in these nine months. The first thing that changed was her attitude towards me, after combating my split selves and my full self. She started to really warm up to me to the point that when I introduced her to Izuku. After explaining his interest in other quirks, she finally calmed down. It was actually Akane who put the idea of cores into my head, Akane can actually compress material in her orbs or bubbles as she calls them, she suggested that I do the same with my individual elements. The reason why I call her Kam is because her last name, Kam, is short for Okami. Akane can become very clingy to the point considering.
She continues to glare at me then says, "I told you not to call me that."
I smile at her, "And I have told you not to call me Ken-Ken."
She hufs, "Fine," she then smiles, "so are you nervous about the exam."
I turned away from her, "A bit but I'm confident I won't fail."
Akane walks next to me, "So where are your other selves?"
I chuckle, "I can't use that technique without them thinking we're separate people."
Akane nods and we enter the school.
After several minutes I was now roaming the halls of U.A. Looking for my assigned classroom to take the written exam and after that, afterwards everyone else and I would have to go to an auditorium where they will receive the instructions for the practical test.
I had an uneasy feeling in his guts, telling me that something wasn't right. After all, I was the only one on this side of the building.
When I finally arrived at my classroom I found that there was nobody around, "They couldn't have made a mistake with me, right?" I asked myself, "Well, there is only one way to find out," I began to open the door, "wait I notice this scent." I say before realizing.
"Oh Ken, you're finally here," A familiar feminine voice came from the classroom that sent a chill through my spine.
My eyes widened in horror as I saw the person sitting over the teacher's desk, "M-M-M-Mom?!" I yelled in panic.
"Hey~ How's it going, Kenshi?" My mother greeted me with a mischievous smile.
"W-What are you doing here?!" I needed answers.
"Oh? Didn't I tell you? I'm a teacher here at U.A." A smug smile appeared on her face.
I am trembling now… If I passed the exam, I was going to be in great danger. My mother had some very unique tendencies and for her to be my teacher. God help me.
"Don't just stay there. Come in to take the exam," Mom told him.
I did as she said, just to freeze in place a second after, "Why are there only one chair?"
My eyes weren't deceiving me, there was only one chair in that classroom.
"Because~ You're the only one taking the exam in this classroom." She answered, enjoying every second of my reactions.
"Why?" I asked again.
"Well, the written test is the same as the recommendation exam, so Nezu decided to make a new one just for you. So, we decided to place you in a different location to create no confusion."
My luck sucked to the point that I wouldn't be surprised I slipped on a banana peel in the next hours.
"It should be obvious by now, but I'm the teacher assigned to supervise you," this is going to be difficult but I knew my mother had confidence in me.
While sweating buckets, he sat down. She then handed me the test. I calmed myself down and began to do the test.
It was definitely different and if I dared to say, more difficult. For some reason, I could swear he could hear the maniacal laughter of the principal inside my head.
I froze again when I heard my mother walking around me. She was supervising me like a predator.
I somehow survived the written exam… somehow. And now I was at the auditorium with the other examinees.
However during the breakdown of the practical exam there was this stiff guy who made a fuss about a potential misprint and about a muttering greenette. I honestly don't know how he heard him, then again Akane is between me and his direction, I have enhanced hearing but Akane does talk to herself. Akane got assigned to Block D while I got Block E.
From what we have been told the villains are of four types, the 0-pointer seems to be a large area trap, the 1-pointers look like weak module type on a single wheel, the 2-pointers looks like a four legged scorpion with a scorpion like tail lazer and what I can guess is either a minigun of laser, and the 3-pointer looks like a gorilla with wheels on the back legs and what looks like rocket launchers on the shoulders.
"Aaand Start!" We all hear Present Mic's voice giving us the single to begin.
