In the chaos of another attack on earth there was little time to ponder the fact that Agent K had a kid. Instead everyone was focused on their jobs while keeping earth safe. So when they finally turned to the question, it was still shocking despite the hours that had past since the news.
Katelynn was watching the stoic K closely, as if wanting to know what she had done wrong. Yet she also had a certain aloofness that matched both of her parents. Knowing that K would not break the silence first and Katelynn would wait until one of them allowed her to speak Alarni broke it, "Are you alright K?"
He looked at her, "Yes, I'm alright." The woman nodded in acknowledgement, and K continued before J could regain his voice, "You once told me that your people do not procreate like mine do." Looking at Katelynn he continued while observing the similarities in hair and eye color, "It seems that you had better expand on that."
The five of them had settled into the Clandorins quarters and Alarni explained how touch can be enough to get the DNA of another. Not the extensive touch just a handshake done enough could transfer enough and that was how she got pregnant with K's daughter. No one spoke until Agent J did, "What the hell?"
Zeb laughed, "And I thought I had seen everything!"
K just nodded, "That makes sense."
Now that set J off on a tirade on how this did not make sense. This was strage, ridiculous, and how was K so calm? J was losing momentum when Katelynn made a gesture showing that she wanted to speak.
When her mother granted permission Katelynn looked at K, "Can we please get some pie and discuss this?" Motioning to Zeb and J, "Without them."
K nodded, "Alright." And Alarni hugged her daughter before the two left.
