Ch. 5- Entrance Exam pt. 2
{Greetings from beyond the screen my fellow readers writers and DR4C0 here with a new chapter with a few things;
1st- Kenshi's powers are going to be on full display.}
I run forward on all fours, my wings pushing the air down allowing my legs to do all the work, my tail works as a stabler and after several meters I activate my devil's feet to travel into the air, I swear I hear several people explaining about not inheriting a good quirk. I rocket several blocks away before channeling my electricity toward a 2 and 3 pointer, my electricity tangles around the wiring of the robots and I pull myself towards the ground. Before hitting the ground I fire a beam of ice and crush a 1-pointer.
'6 points' I calculate.
"Target Identified, Exterminate."
I pull the electricity from the robots and split myself up.
Nova rockets towards a 1-pointer before punching through the robot's head before tucking and rolling into an enhanced kick through another 1-pointer. Glacius transforms into a small wall of ice, the wall quickly scatters to relieve Glacius with an ice katana, he just as quickly cuts up the 2-pointer in front of him. Raiden creates two plasma coils, whips towards a 2-pointer and slices them in half.
'12 points' I calculate.
Glacius jumped onto a 2-pointer and as soon as he landed he began to stab his sword into it's back, making it thrash around.
'14 points' I calculate
The robot tried to shake him off but Glacius kept his grip on the sword. The teen was about to cut the robot's head off just when he saw a big red button on the back of the robot's head, making him raise an eyebrow. Feeling curious, and a little like a kid, Glacius pressed the big red button.
As soon as he pressed the button the robot stiffened before falling to the ground. Glacius raised an eyebrow even farther as he pulled the sword out of the dead robot, a confused expression on his face.
"They have off buttons?" Glacius whispered to himself with a confused expression. "Why would they have... of course," the samurai said while he face-palmed.
Not every quirk was pure combat, some were speed, stealth, agility, or trap base. This meant someone could use their quirk to hold or sneak past the robot before deactivating it with the button. This allowed everyone to have some way to fight the robots, not just those with combat quirks.
Glacius immediately opens his mind to the network before looking around for his brothers, only to see Raiden flying off on his Shock Saucer towards a group of people and Nova rockets off towards another group of people.
He sighs to himself, "Of course they would leave me behind."
He shot a shard of ice into the air, turning himself into ice before teleporting away. Raiden jumps from the Shock Saucer and Rail Guns a 2 and 1-pointer. Nova rockets pass a corner, immediately punches through a 3-pointer's body and begins to lay down literally fire at the robots. As Glacius falls he sees a teen get choked out by a 1-pointer.
'21 points' I calculated.
Glacius channels ice into his hand and vertically throws a fast spinning saw blade like object at the robot. However in reality the 'saw blade' is in the shape of a snowflake. This Cryo-Dics slides and cuts off the robot's arm clean off, dropping the teen in an instant. Glacius quickly runs between the teen and the robot, he runs his sword into the midsection of the robot and freezes the inside of the mechanical enemy.
"Hey, are you all right!?" Glacius calls out as he looks over the teen as he finally gets a good look at who he saved.
It was a guy his age with long purple hair and dark bags under his eye. He had an annoyed look on his face as he pushed himself up off the ground.
"Why did you save me?" he asked in a slightly annoyed voice as he rubbed and stretched the back of his neck.
Glacius raised an eyebrow, "You looked like you were having trouble, so I thought you needed help." He said as he looked the guy over, seeing he was pretty skinny but luckily not hurt, "let me guess, non-combative quirk?"
The teen looked a little surprised before narrowing his eyes, "Maybe, what's it to you?" He asked with the same annoyed tone.
Glacius scoffs while rolling his eyes before pointing to the robot he destroyed, "The robots have off buttons behind their heads, 1-pointers are the fastest, 2 -pointers are slower but more agile, and 3-pointers are the sturdiest but also the slowest. If you sneak up on a few 3 pointers and press the button on the back of their heads you might pass," Glacius says before he starts to walk away.
The purple haired teen looked at Glacius with wide eyes and a shocked look on his face, "Wait!" he shouted, stopping Glacius in his tracks, "Why are you helping me, we're supposed to be competing with each other! Yet you helped me and give me advice, why?"
Glacius turns slightly to the teen, shrugs, "I helped you because if I didn't you would have gotten hurt, I didn't want that to happen. And the advice, it's up to you if you want those points bad enough. Remember what Present Mic said, 'Go Plus Ultra'," Glacius said before pointing his finger, firing an ice shard, freezing and teleporting away, leaving the teen with a shocked expression.
Three blocks down, Raiden emites an EMP in every direction deactivating many 2 3-pointers, 1 2-pointer and 2 1-pointers. Raiden turns around to see a young man with purple balls on his head.
'28 points' I calculate.
Raiden smiles and asks, "Are you alright?"
The boy stands and says, "Yeah thanks for the save and what not."
Raiden turns around and says, "There are buttons on the backs of their head that will shut them down."
Raiden begins to walk away however as he begins to create a pair of plasma coils he hears, "Alright you robotic bastards get ready to meet your maker!"
Nova on the other hand ducks, dodges and evades the robot's attempts hit him and as he does, he yells out to the others, "Hey guys." This gains the attention of a few competitors and robot's, "I'll put on a distraction, while you guys either but the shut down bottoms on their heads or with everything you got."
The competitors all yell out in agreement before leaping into action.
In the UA Monitoring Room
The teachers of UA were watching several students combat the robots with ease, while others had barely taken down one. They were all looking for several things that made up a hero.
Insight, to grasp the situation quickly and accurately. Agility, to show mobility and never be late to the party. Judgment, to face an obstacle with coolness and composure. Compassion, the willingness to help others. And finally was pure combat prowess.
All these things were necessary to become a hero.
"There seems to be a lot of promising students!" Present Mic yelled as she saw a bunch of students destroy robots with near ease.
"I feel like we have more troublesome students," Aizawa groaned as he see a blond student with an explosion quirk go crazy on the robots, almost like a wild animal. "Very troublesome," his eyes then land on Kenshi as he splits himself into three separate element users; a mid to long range electrical user, a light mid range to heavy combat range fire user and an intermediate mid to close ice range user, "Hmm."
Now that caught his attention.
All Might, in his real form, was keeping his eyes on one student in particular. The number 1 hero smiled as he saw his son Izuku Midoriya not only take robot's out with little ease, but also help others when they appeared to be in trouble, going out of his way to help them with little to no hesitation.
'You have already passed my expectations son,' All Might thought with a small smile.
"We've raked in a bumper crop this year," one of the teachers groaned as he saw some participants fighting over robots or attack each other, some were just standing around after they destroyed just a few robots and looked like they already passed. "We can't be sure yet," he said as he reached over and pressed a red button, "The thing to really test their mettle is this."
All Might gained a worried look as he was what button the teacher pressed, 'I know you can pass this Izuku, I have faith in you.'
Back with Kenshi
Kenshi let out a breath as he took down another robot with his Rail Gun shot. After nearly 5 minutes in and Kenshi had selected multiple 3-pointers, intervened with saving others from 2-pointers and had to defend himself against a few 1-points; gaining up to 47 points, totally up to 77 points which he believed was more than enough to pass. Glacius glanced down from atop of a tall building. Raiden patrols the alleyways on his Shock Saucer. Nova is currently rocketing around as if he's looking for a fight. Glacius looked down at his watch as it counted down and saw there was only about less than 3 minutes until the exam ended.
Glancing around Glacius saw most of the robots were destroyed and people were just standing around to rest. It seemed like all the robots in the fake city were gone or destroyed.
"Something isn't right here," Glacius muttered to himself as he opens his mind to the network. "Guys any sign of the 0-pointer?"
Raiden answers with a static filled voice, "If they had sent it out by now then I would have felt it by now."
Nova hangs from the edge of a building, "These idiots are just standing as if they're content with their work, it would be the perfect time to release the 0-pointer."
Suddenly the ground shook hard, nearly throwing everyone to the ground. Everyone turned to one direction and were all shocked at what they saw, even Kenshi(s) jaw dropped.
"UA... is fucking crazy!"
There at the end of the street was the 0 pointer itself. However it was massive, as tall as a building and easily crushed one with its giant robot hand. The robot raised it's hand before bringing it down, creating a shockwave that sent debris everywhere. Glacius is almost blown off the building he's on.
Everyone turned around and started to run away, Nova and Raiden hid in the alleyways.
'What the hell is UA thinking bringing that giant thing,' Glacius screamed in his head as he turned around, 'Why do we need heroes again? I'm pretty sure if you put that thing on the streets it will scare every villain shitless-'
"Ahhh... owww..."
Glacius froze in place as his connection to the network was still open, allowing him to know someone is in trouble before whipping around to see a competitor, her feet caught under some rubble as she struggled to move. Without even thinking Nova rockets forward towards the girl. She was waiting for her death but as she cautiously opened her eyes she saw a boy with dragon features holding back the giant fist.
This gets some shocked looks from the other participants.
"What is he doing!?"
"Is he crazy!?"
"What, he wants to be a knight in shining armor to some girl?"
"Does he think he can take down the 0 Pointer?"
"If I can't take that thing down then there's no way that guy can!"
Nova on the other hand ignores the comments being thrown at him.
In the control room.
"We got some over achievers," a man with white hair groaned as he watched the Kenshi(s) combat, run towards and analyze the 0 Pointer. "He's supposed to run away, not anything else."
"Maybe the listener plans to use his quirk to take the robot down?" Present Mic suggested.
"Hyabusa doesn't just rely exclusively on his quirk," the man with scarves says, grabbing the other teacher's attention. "He has shown a lot of skill with that sword and close quarters combat, it appears he's trained for this. He doesn't seem like the kind to go in without some kind of plan."
"Wait..." Present Mic said slowly as he turned to the hero with scarves. "Are you actually praising someone!?" he shouted with a shocked expression.
The hero rolled his eyes at his friend's overreaction, "I'm just pointing out the obvious, nothing more." He said while looking at examine 4747's file, noticing something a little interesting, 'Quirk: Elemental Dragon,' his thought with a raised eyebrow.
All Might however was smiling at Aizawa, he was one of the tougher teachers in U.A. If a student wasn't taking the hero course seriously he would kick them out or transfer them without any hesitation. One time he had expelled an entire class because they didn't show any potential, such as laziness, cockiness, and weren't going Plus Ultra. Yet he seemed the slightest bit impressed with this Hayabusa, a boy with elemental emissions and draconic features. If he had to be honest he too was also curious about the young Hayabusa.
With the Dramen
Nova strains himself, "Don't… ugh… worry," he forces a smile, "I'm… here."
The only question she could force out was, "Why… that's a Zero pointer. The strongest enemy."
As he says, "What kind of hero doesn't put their lives on the line?" Nova begins, 'Everyone online?'
Raiden answers, 'Just rounding the corner, Nova how's this thing's defenses holding up?'
Nova rockets out of the way of it's giant arm, 'Pretty damn well, my shots and streams haven't been able to melt this thing yet.'
Raiden replies as he rounds the corner, 'Glacius, any suggestions?'
Glacius is silent for a few seconds before saying, 'All Out.'
Raiden and Glacius appear next to Nova, reabsorb themselves and say however it was painful for he was being crushed little by little
Her eyes went wide in horror, he was here risking his life. He was doing what the others with many points didn't yet he came anyway.
She couldn't help but feel guilty. Because she was caught in the rubble, he gave away the time he could've used to gain more points.
"Why are you doing this?" She bit her lips as she tried to take off the rubble of her foot.
She couldn't stay still, wasting his sacrifice.
"Why?" Kenshi repeated after her, "Because what matters the most…" the talons of his right foot anchor themselves to the ground, cracking it under the pressure. "Above everything else, even a hero's own life!" his left foot did the same, he wouldn't move an inch anymore. "It's to do!" his hands tightened, piercing the Zero pointer palm while cracking its shell, "WHAT IS RIGHT!"
He did the impossible and slammed the hand on top of him, creating a cloud of dust.
A second after, he appeared through the dust, running on all four up the metallic arm, claws and talons at the ready.
"Get away from her!" He jumped at the Zero pointer's face and moved his arms in an X, leaving huge electrical scratch marks on the robot.
But it wasn't enough. Still, in the air, he saw how the other hand of the Zero pointer came in his direction.
"I didn't think this through!" He shields himself with a blazing left kick and brace himself.
He was smacked into a building.
"Pretty words are not enough if you cannot back them up with actions, kid," he could hear the voice of his father in his ear.
The Zero pointer focused again on the girl, extending his hand again to crush her.
The massive robot came to an abrupt halt when a growl that couldn't be made by any human being came from the hold on the building where Kenshi was smacked into.
Parallelly, the other Zero pointers in the other fake cities stopped moving too. Their heads moving in the direction of City E.
At the same time in the control room.
"Oh dear," Nezu began to type on a keyboard in panic.
"What? What's happening?" Midnight asked also in panic, in fact every teacher was in panic, this was the first time that they have seen Nezu like this.
"It may have been an error from the damage or maybe a bug in the system, but…" Nezu spoke.
"But what?"
"For a moment the Zero pointer in city E called the other Zero pointers from the other cities as reinforcement after judging an unknown creature as too dangerous."
"WHAT?!" Every teacher screams in surprise.
"Where's the location of this creature?" Shota was the first to regain composure. He needed information and maybe to stop the entire test.
"It… It came from the hole in the building where Hayabusa Kenshi was hit," the control room fell in silence.
Back in city E.
As the cloud of dust on the hole gets burned away, revealing Kenshi on all four with a strained face. Kenshi has begun to transform. Kenshi's skin was being pierced by from below by his scales, he's skull begins to stretch and his antlers begin to grow, his teeth, fingernails and toenails sharpen into claws and talons, his toes, ankles and legs and stretch to the shape of a raptor, his wings grow to a 24ft wingspan and his tail grows to 11ft long. His body becomes much more muscular.
"Calm down… Rage is not the answer… you can't let it consume you," he told himself, "Glacius… Status report," he has learned something from the personas inside his head; Glacius knew what happened to his body better than himself, Nova knew his instincts better than any other and Raiden knew exactly what he was feeling.
"Your left leg is fractured after you use it to block that hit. Any harsh movement and you'll break it." Glacius informed with his monotone voice.
This is what he meant, due to the adrenaline he didn't know his leg was fractured that badly.
"That means I only have one shot," Kenshi says to himself.
"What?! No! He didn't say that!" The electric persona yells furiously, not liking where this was going.
"Sorry guys, I can't hear you," at that Nova began to insult him for such bullshit.
Kenshi looked at the Zero pointer which was readying its fist to end the job with him. The dragonoid did the same with his muscles.
The Gigantic robot threw its punch while Kenshi flew at it at the same time, straining his right leg in the process.
He avoided the punch by a few inches, going at its head, "Draco…" he readied both of his right fist, "PUNCH!" The punch connected head-on, the head of the Robot was obliterated but what catches the dragonoid's senses is the smell of ozone, feelings the heat of smoking metal and sees the frost in the center of the crater.
Everyone in city E watched in awe how the biggest enemy was defeated.
Kenshi began to fall from a great height. Yet he was completely calm. He spreads his wings to slow his descent and lands next to the girl he originally tried to save. He grabs and lifts the rubble from the girl's leg.
"THE TEST IS OVER!" Present Mic screamed so loud everyone in every mock city could hear but for Kenshi however it's even louder due to his enhanced hearing.
RRRROOoaar*
Kenshi roars triumphantly from his win.
"Ok, ok, make way," an elderly voice said, making the dragon man turn to see elderly woman in a hero costume walk down the broken road. She was heading right towards the young Hayabusa, "Is anyone here hurt?"
Kenshi shakes his head and with a low growl says, "I overextended myself but I can heal myself."
The elderly woman gave a soft laugh as she walked up to the young dragon, "It's been many years since a draconic quirk participated in the entrance exam." She says before examining me, "Fractured left leg, strained right leg and a broken right arm. Now then if you're so sure about your healing capabilities then I would very much like to see it."
He nods, raises his left arm and begins to absorb the remaining electricity from the robots and the heat from the air. Recovery Girl watches in awe as the wounds begin to heal right before her eyes.
She says, "Truly remarkable." She then turns to the crowd, "Is there anyone else injured." She called as she started to make her way to other student's.
Kenshi sighs before whispering to himself, "It looks like I made it." He stood up and begins to walk back to the entrance.
Time Skip- Kenshi(POV)
I walk to the entrance of UA Highschool in a scaled down version of my draconic form. My scales had partially retreated under my skin, my talons and claws were starting to scale back into me, my legs where the first to change back to normal, my muscles had also scaled down quite a bit but it were my wings and tail that took the longest to shrink back down to their normal size.
'My veins nearly showed,' this was problem his elemental veins were painful and he saw them as disgusting, '
My train of thought gets destroyed when I hear, "Hayabusa-kan?"
I turn around to see Akana, I grin and say, "Hello, Akana how did the exam go for you?"
Back at U.A. in the control room.
After all the examinees left it was time to count the points.
Now they were looking at the top 10 in complete silence.
"Uh… you didn't make any mistakes, right?" Present Mic was the first to talk.
"There are no mistakes, Yamada-Kun," Nezu answered.
"You sure?" The voice Hero still was skeptical. Well, the other teachers couldn't blame him, they felt the same.
"Positive." The rodent responded again and then continued, "Everyone is dismissed except for Aizawa-Kun."
Everyone began to leave.
"Hehe. I told you, you would regret it." Midnight said with a satisfied grin as she left.
"Hahahaha! Good luck, Eraser." Vlad King burst into laughter as he smacked the back of the mentioned teacher.
Finally, only the Principal and Shota remained.
"If we're technical-" Eraser Head tried to find an excuse but was interrupted.
"Well if we're technical. Adding the result of both his practical tests and written tests. Hayabusa Kenshi-Kun got first place in both exams," Nezu used his own excuse against him. "I believe that you still remember our little bet," The Pro hero clicked his tongue at that. "And I already know what you're going to pick as a punishment for you, and you're restricted from using your Quirk on her."
Shota clicked his tongue again. He took his leave as he pulled out his phone, making a call.
Somebody immediately picked up at the other end of the line, "Yello~," a woman's voice answered, "You never called me before, Eraser. How do I owe the pleasure?"
'To Kenshi Hayabusa,' he thought.
Shota sighed; he just has to do it quickly. "Emi…"
"Yes?"
"Let's have a date," The black-haired man dropped the bomb.
"… … … Wut?" Was all the answer he got.
Aizawa left the room.
Nezu laughed at him while sparing a last glance at the monitor with the Top 10 before leaving the room too, "This year sure is going to be interesting."…
