In all her years of being a Survey Corp, Hanji had never dreamt, let alone even think that she'd actually live to see this day.
In truth, she did genuinely think that she'd be long dead before she would be able to see the Walls which had protected them for so long be breached by the Titans. By all means, she reckoned that she'd be eaten by a Titan long before that happened or, as Levi would put it, fall off the edge of the Wall on accident.
And yet, here she was, alive and clearly not hallucinating, as proven after she had pinched herself multiple times, standing on the very top of Wall Maria alongside several dozen other soldiers who had been gathered to repel the invading Titans. Amongst these soldiers were Erwin and Levi, who stood to her left and right respectively, and Moblit stood right behind her, with the poor guy sweating rather intensely as the stress got to him.
Though it was not necessarily easy to see, Hanji was feeling internally upset. No… upset was putting it lightly. She was quite literally fuming internally, up to the point where her face ended up turning almost cartoonishly red, something both Levi and Erwin noted, prompting the tall blonde to take a small step away from her while the shorter directed his gaze towards the lady.
"What's wrong this time?" asked Levi, his tone so neutral that it sounded as though he was unconcerned with the breach of Shiganshina. Though that slight fidgety movement in his hands and the occasional twitch of his eyes told her otherwise. "We're prepping for a counterattack. We can't have our tactician break down now, of all times."
For a moment, Hanji considered not telling him, but she then considered multiple ways that decision could backfire. Such as Levi pondering that question during a fight and getting killed, or him asking questions during combat (despite knowing that it would never happen).
Still, despite Levi not necessarily treating Hanji like one, the two were still friends, or at least Hanji thought they were, and friends never kept secrets from one another. So, letting her moral code override her logic, Hanji decided to abide by her friendship guidelines which she herself laid out and enforced and she spoke up.
"It's just… you know," she began as the final few members of the Garrison and Survey Corps finished gathering beside them. As they did, Hanji turned to her side, staring at a Survey Corp that was trying to appear calm, though the bespectacled woman could tell that he was shivering and that his shoulders twitched every so often, prompting her to sigh deeply. "Well… it's just that… most of our comrades… Survey Corps at least… came from Shiganshina.
"And… well, I can only imagine how it feels to lose a home. To be… forcefully driven out of the place you grew up in, or stay and face a horrible death. It must be agonising, to say the least. That, and there are obviously other reasons as to why I'd be mad… like us losing a district to the Titans… and how we'll end up having to cram more people into Maria.
"And I haven't even mentioned how this ruins our formation travel routes, perfected-"
"I wouldn't consider them perfect," pointed out Levi, considering how nothing could technically be considered perfect.
"Oh shush, you get my point," retorted Hanji with a look of mock annoyance, though it was quickly replaced by an uncharacteristically stern expression as she continued. "But what would this do to our years of careful planning…? All those carefully crafted strategies… the formation routes and whatnot… they're now all for nothing… and I haven't even mentioned how this makes people from other districts feel less safe and-"
"It's probably time for you to shut up," cut off Levi, partly due to the fact that he was getting tired of Hanji's uncharacteristically depressing ramblings, being too used to her more upbeat self, and also partly because the commander of both the Garrison and Survey Corps for this mission, Keith Shadis himself, was already standing in front of the massive group of soldiers.
While some of the Garrison did not consider Keith to be good or worthy enough to lead them, as they all believed that the Commander was the one who was mostly responsible for dooming so many lives on the expeditions to the outside, pretty much everyone else knew the reason as to why he was chosen over generally more charismatic members such as Dot Pixis, Commander of the Garrison, and that was for his combat experience, something even the great Pixis lacked.
As Keith stood in front of the crowd, he took a deep breath in, frowning deeply as he stared at the soldiers before him. The Commander, despite his stoic self, wasn't as calm as most would make him out to be, with the subtle twitch of his lip and eyelid being enough to signify that, though thankfully enough, not many of the soldiers took note of this as the Commander sighed softly and spoke.
"Fellow soldiers," began Keith after some time. The man was definitely trying his best to sound strong, an attempt to inspire hope in spite of their current situation. Though his efforts were admirable, the shakiness in his voice was still rather apparent, and it was noticeable enough that several soldiers felt their already low morale sink down a little further, though it didn't deter the Commander as he continued. "As you can see… today marks what one could consider humanity's darkest hour…"
Several hushed whispers were heard in the crowd, most being in agreement with Keith while others were praying silently for their safety. However, all voices were silenced as soon as Shadis continued.
"HOWEVER!" continued Keith, his thunderous voice cutting straight through the air itself and making every last one of the soldiers before him straighten themselves up in attention. Even Hanji felt a jolt go up her spine when Keith's voice boomed out, and it only intensified when she saw the harsh glare Keith was sending their way. And, evidently, everyone else around her was feeling the same, with even Levi flinching at Keith's tone as he continued speaking, hardening his voice further as he did so in an attempt to get his men fired up.
"Despite the odds being heavily stacked against us," continued Keith, his rock hard tone not faltering even for a second as he lowered his gaze so as to not make eye contact with the men and women whom he was about to send to their deaths. "We must not forget what our seniors have taught us to do if the Walls were to ever be breached! Our top priority is to evacuate all residents of Shiganshina at all costs! Do not engage the Titans unless you have no choice!
"AM I UNDERSTOOD?!"
"YES SIR!" proclaimed the soldiers who stood before him. With a satisfied, and perhaps a slightly uncertain, nod, Keith went on to group the Garrison and Survey Corps. Each group was assigned with a different task, such as the evacuation of civilians or the extremely unhealthy mission of keeping the Titans away from those who couldn't defend themselves.
The Commander used his familiarity with the soldiers from his Brigade and paired the best of the best up with one another while the weaker and less experienced soldiers were grouped up with the Garrison for cannon or evacuation duties.
Hanji found herself grouped alongside, unsurprisingly, Levi, leading a team of about twenty Survey Corps and Garrison, including Sys, who decided that his job was currently more important than recovering in the medical center, Moblit, who was more or less here out of an obligation to keep Hanji out of trouble, and Flex, though Levi doubt the graffiti artist could do much good on the battlefield. Still, it was better than nothing, considering how she was above average by Garrison standards.
"Well, commander," was the first thing Flex said as she marched up to Levi alongside several other Garrison soldiers of varying ranks, with said soldiers being considered good enough to be put on Anti-Titan duty. As she approached, Levi noted that her dark red scarf was flowing furiously in the wind, threatening to fly off into the distance if given the opportunity, something the Garrison painter was apparently oblivious to as she continued speaking. "What are your orders?"
For a moment, Levi stayed silent, all while the other soldiers dispersed around him, unwittingly charging into battle or to evacuate civilians. He then looked back at his own team, considering his next course of action, before replying. "We're going into the battlefield."
He swore he heard one of his teammates softly curse under his breath when he issued his order, though he promptly ignored it, instead turning his attention to the breach in Shiganshina, where the first few Titans were slowly but surely waddling in through, intending to consume the first human they see.
"Wait… you mean out there?" asked a Garrison, making Levi turn to glare at her. The glare made the girl shrink down to about half her size as Levi simply rolled his eyes, internally grumbling at how the Garrison essentially were next to unreliable in this mission. Their lack of experience in long term battles with Titans, despite how they were allegedly above average in terms of combat, meant that they were more likely to be killed than their Survey Corp acquaintances.
With that said, however, he didn't exactly have a choice in regards to who he was paired with. Though he was the Commander, he wasn't the one calling the shots in regards to group assignments, after all, so with a sigh, he turned and glared at the young woman.
"Yes," answered Levi, diverting his gaze away from the soldier' and back down to the breach as he frowned deeply and held onto one of his Anti-Titan blade handles as he continued. "We will be part of the first line of defence against the Titans. Unless any of you have something against that thought, of course."
Glaring harshly at all those under his command as he finished, Levi was satisfied to hear that no one objected to his plans. And, with a firm nod, he turned towards the battlefield before him and took a step backwards. The Garrison tilted their heads in confusion at what he was doing, though the Survey Corp membersof the group didn't seem to find that act strange in the slightest. Still confused, the Garrison were about to ask their Survey Corp counterparts what Levi was doing, only to be silenced when the short Captain made a mad dash towards the edge of Maria and took a massive leap straight off it.
"Commander!" proclaimed a Garrison, rushing to the edge as Ackerman leapt off the edge of Maria, though he only widened his eyes when he saw that, by the time he was over by the edge and peeking down, Levi was alright, perched on the edge of a building and looking up at them. While the Garrison simply watched, dumbfounded by the skills Levi had displayed with his maneuver gear, the Survey Corps simply shook their heads before they themselves took massive leaps off Maria. As they did, Hanji found herself chuckling softly.
"Yeah, you guys are definitely not used to that," she concluded with a chuckle as she leaned backwards and fell backwards off the side of Maria, with Sys following suit after offering a quick roll of his eyes at Hanji's over the top antics and Moblit not long after, though he did so with less dramatic flare. Once Moblit took his leap, it left only the Garrison to follow suit, though most seemed reluctant despite being trained in taking leaps of faith off the Walls.
The first Garrison to take the leap was, unsurprisingly, Flex, who nosedived off the edge without much hesitation, with the woman using her maneuver gear to stop herself from becoming a red stain on the ground and landing on one knee next to Sys, who clapped a little in response to her landing strategy, prompting the lady to bow a little and causing Levi to groan at their lack of seriousness.
"It wouldn't kill any of you to take this more seriously," commented Levi, sounding disapproving as he eyed his teammates, who at least had the decency to appear sheepish, though they quickly went back to normal when the remaining Garrison landed not too far from them with varying levels of success.
"Took you long enough," mocked Hanji with her arms crossed and with a small smirk on her face, with her tone being enough to make the soldiers redden with insult as she chuckled and motioned for them to get moving, with Levi leading their charge towards their destination.
Straight towards the breach, where Titans were pouring into Shiganshina by the dozens, with the Garrison soldiers silently wondering if they had picked a terrible career choice all the while.
Though as they went along, Hanji secretly wondered if they would see the Mechanical Titan during this slight conundrum as well. It was unlikely, but the impossible tended to happen very frequently around these parks.
Meanwhile
For a short while, Mikazuki found himself temporarily stunned as he sat in the cockpit of Barbatos, with his Gundam standing in the breach in 'Shiganshina'.
Having seen many… terrible things in the past, with a majority of said things having been committed by him no less, Mikazuki found himself rather desensitised to a majority of the fucked up shit in this world. And yet, now, as he sat within his unit's cockpit and stared through its optic to cockpit display… the young man couldn't help but be stunned into silence at what he saw.
It was one of those oversized human things… with its back turned towards the Gundam. At first, Mikazuki thought nothing of it, he had no reason to, after all. It was just a mindless … thing, something that didn't warrant his attention, especially when Mika could very easily swat it away with his unit. Hell, he was about to do just that, though he was quick to stop when the damn thing…
When the damn thing had rather abruptly turned around, showing Mikazuki its grotesque face and… and the blood that was very much noticeable on the thing's lips. The blood was the least of Mika's worries, however, as the thing that the young man noticed first was the… the human that was in its mouth…
The human had been ripped in half, with their intestines still dangling from their upper body, which was held firmly in the mouth of the larger human whilst their lower half was in held in the hands of the larger human. As it turned to face Barbatos, the larger human closed its mouth, in turn swallowing the upper half of the dead human it had in its mouth, and threw the lower half down before he turned and charged towards its new target.
As it charged, the young pilot simply stared at the smaller in comparison to his Gundam humanoid with his eyes widened and his mouth agape. He remained this way even as the human looking thing lunged at Barbatos and grabbed onto its shin, with it biting at his unit's leg armour in an attempt to pierce the Nanolaminated Armour to no avail.
"What… what the fuck…" muttered Mika, still unable to fully process what he just saw as he stared down at the humanoid. So these damn things… ate humans, huh? That explained why those humans from last night were running from them, he supposed, though that explanation didn't do much to put the pilot's churning stomach at ease.
Though he was by no means morally sound, Mika did still have enough decendy within him to, at the very least, not desecrate the corpses of the deceased. Sure, he would scrounge for supplies in the corpses of those that he killed from time to time, if the situation was dire enough, but he had never ripped them open or outright eaten those that he killed before!
It was disgusting… even for Mikazuki, and despite his usually calm and composed self, the pilot felt a small flare of anger well up inside him. This wasn't common, not in the slightest, for the pilot to lose control and actually get properly angry, though the events of the past 24 hours were beginning to catch up to him.
All the frustration he had felt at being isolated from Tekkadan, the irritation of being in territory that was uncharted to him, and the annoyance at having his only apparent safe haven be destroyed… it was all beginning to boil over, and it seemed as though seeing this massive humanoid thing eat a man was the tipping point for him as he gripped his Gundam's arm controllers tighter than he usually did.
And within the blink of an eye, Gundam Barbatos dropped its Longsword and jerked its arm unit down and grabbed the head of the small humanoid in its manipulator. It applied enough force to grab onto its head firmly, though not enough to crush it, as the unit ripped the thing off its shin and raised it up to optic level, allowing its pilot to have a good look at it's grotesque features.
Mika stared at the damn thing for a handful of seconds before he clenched his fingers tightly around the manipulator controllers for his Gundam. In response to that, Barbatos' digits clenched tightly around the smaller thing's head, in turn crushing it and causing its headless body to drop to the ground. As it did so, the unit crouched down and retrieved its Longsword and turned towards the breach in the wall, with its pilot frowning a little deeper than usual all the while.
His mind was very foggy at the moment, with it being a mess of confusion and anger, among many other emotions that Mikazuki couldn't identify, and he really needed a way to vent out all these pent up frustrations of his.
And at the moment, there was only one way he could vent it all out.
"… let's go, Barbatos."

"YOU FOOL! WHAT ARE YOU AIMING AT?!"
Flinching in fear at his commander's tone, a Garrison soldier hastily reloaded the cannon both he and a partner were manning. As he loaded the cannonball into the stationary armament, the Garrison bit his tongue to force himself to not retort. His partner, on the other hand, blurted out: "B-But sir! We can't hit moving targets like these with these cannons!"
Turning almost instantly to glare at the sharp tongued soldier, the commanding officer quite literally roared at the man. "Gah! WHO CARES?!" he proclaimed, narrowing his eyes at his Garrison underling before swinging his arm towards the encroaching Titans. "Just load another round into the cannon and take aim! We cannot allow them to get past this line!"
And in response to that, the soldiers yelled out their agreements before moving to load the cannons up and opening fire on the approaching Titans. Currently, there were about six cannons stationed about fifty metres away from the still opened gates that led to Maria. All six were aimed straight ahead, each manned by at least two Garrison and at most four, and though the cannons were typically strong enough to destroy a Titan in a single shot, due to how they were stationary, with no way to change where they were aiming towards, they were lacking in terms of versatility.
They would have worried about the Titans coming at them from the sides, but the Survey Corps and Garrison that were dealing with the Titans close by had them covered on that front. That, and they could always take up arms and defend themselves if needed. The Garrison group was led by a senior who manned the middle cannon while the Survey Corps, on the other hand, were led by various Commanders based on where they were, with the group closest to them being led by Levi.
Grimacing as they loaded a shot and let it fly, a pair of Garrison soldiers winced when the shot they just let loose just barely struck a Four metre Titan, with the shot just barely destroying both it's head and part of it's torso as the cannonball blasted straight through it and impacted a house, decimating its side. Grinning victoriously a little at that, the two Garrison nodded to one another before they moved to reload the cannon as quickly as they could, though all the while, the two of them, alongside their fellow soldiers, didn't notice a ten metre Titan charging straight at them until it was just a handful of metres away from a the soldiers manning the leftmost cannons.
The two Garrison reacted too slowly, only managing to unsheathe their blades, though by then, the Titan had lunged at the two with its hand outstretched. However, when the Titan was about just about to grab onto them, a blur shot straight past the Titan's nape, slicing deeply into it. The Titan went down right as it's nape was sliced, dropping onto its stomach and skidding to a stop about half a metre in front of the two Garrison Gunners.
The one who just saved them landed on a nearby building, and it was then when they realized that the person was no Survey Corp, but a fellow Garrison, standing on the building with her red scarf tied extra tightly around her neck as she swung her blood stained blade rather dramatically to the side.
Smiling in relief at their fellow Garrison, one of the two raised his arm to give a wave, probably the best he could do to repay her as of now. "We appreciate that, Flex!"
"Don't mention it," said Flex modestly as she saluted with her blade before dashing back to regroup with her fellow soldiers. As she did, the Garrison she saved went back to work, reloading their cannon before taking another shot at an incoming Titan.
For a few minutes, the Garrison and Survey Corps held the line with everything they had. After some time, a blue flare went soaring up into the sky towards the eastern zone of Shiganshina. Looking up at it, the commander of the group gave a firm nod.
"It would seem as though the eastern side of Shiganshina is fully evacuated," announced the Commander with his voice raised and a small, slightly satisfied sigh of relief as he spoke. "Now we just need to-"
Before the commander could even finish his sentence, however, a loud, almost ear splitting sound which was reminiscent of metal scraping against metal could be heard from behind them, causing both Survey Corp and Garrison soldiers who were close byto freeze in their tracks and turn towards the gates of Maria, only to see it sliding down, with all of them on the wrong side of the Wall.
"W-What the…?!" proclaimed a Garrison as he subconsciously turned on a dime and dashed towards the closing gates. Several other soldiers followed suit, driven by the fear of being stuck out here and being eaten, leaving only the bravest of their group to face the upcoming wave of Titans. "THEY'RE CLOSING THE GATES WITHOUT US?!"
Despite his ever growing fear, however, the Garrison who commanded the squadron did not turn and flee. When they didn't listen, however, the Commander grimaced before he, alongside a handful of other soldiers who were brave enough to make a stand, forced themselves to stand their ground and man their cannons. Hastily, the commander lifted a cannonball up, an act which required all the power in his arms and torso, and loaded it into the cannon he was manning. Once that was done, he fired the cannon, and his loaded shell hit a three metre Titan square in the torso. He would have felt victorious if the growing feeling of dread had not threatened to overwhelm him.
To his sides, at least five other Garrison were laying down suppressive fire on the encroaching Titans, with the other ten or so running away like the cowards a certain Jaeger had called them. However, undaunted by their lack of manpower, the remaining Garrison did their best to hold the line and blasted every Titan in their sightlines as best as they could, though only about one third of all the blasts actually managed to connect.
On their third cannon shot, however, the Garrison who stayed behind felt the earth shake below them, strong enough to make the cannons shake a tad and nearly knocked one of them off their supports. For a moment, the commander of the group wondered if someone had misfired a cannonball into the ground by accident, but a quick look around made him realize that there were no misfires, making him wonder… what exactly caused that minor tremor?
His answer, unfortunately, came all too soon when the tremor came up again, and when he turned back around towards to stare at where the cannons were aiming at, he, along with his fellow Garrison, widened their eyes at what they saw came stomping out from behind a still standing building.
Standing at Fifteen metres, the absolute limit of Titans, or at least what it used to be as it was beaten by the sixty metre which was just seen, the Titan would not have looked out of place among the others if it didn't have what appeared to be bony plates of armour covering its body. It also stood up noticeably straighter when compared to other Titans, and it had quite a bit of blonde hair atop its head.
When they saw the thing, the soldiers, even the ones who were fleeing from the battlefield, couldn't help but stare at it in shock. However, their shock at this… intriguing looking Titan was quick to become confusion when they saw that it was crouching down to one knee, though before long, their confusion became terror when the Titan burst forward at incredible speed, sprinting towards the wall of cannons and, in turn, the gate to Maria.
"What is it doing?!" proclaimed one of the soldiers manning the cannons, only to be cut off when his Commander yelled out his next orders.
"It doesn't matter!" exclaimed the commander as he got ready to let lose another shot. "BLAST IT!"
"YES SIR!" replied the others as the commander let his shot fly. The shot hit the Titan straight in the chest, making him pump his fist victoriously, only for that feeling of victory to slip away when the smoke settled, revealing that the Fifteen metre was still intact. Even worse, it had not stopped it's charge, seeming entirely unphased by the cannonshot.
Three more shots were thrown at it, and while one of the three missed it, the other two connected, though both didn't seem to affect it in the slightest as the Titan's 'armour' had protected it from them. It didn't even damage its apparent armour either.
Once they realized that the shots worked as well as trying to fight a Titan with their bare hands, the remaining Garrison decided that fleeing the battlefield, towards the closing gates of Maria, was now their best option as if they stayed out here, they would most certainly be trampled, or even worse, eaten alive.
So, spinning on their heels, the Garrison charged towards the gates of Maria as fast as their legs would carry them, with the new… Armoured Titan hot on their heels. The Commander, realizing that they would most definitely not make it, bellowed out his final command.
"HURRY!" he proclaimed, eyes wide as his legs burned with exhaustion. "THE TITANS ARE COMING! CLOSE THE GATES! CLOSE THE GA-"

The sound of a massive explosion had ripped Hanji's attention away from the battle she was attending at hand, with the bespectacled woman kicking off the nape of the Titan she had just downed before landing on a nearby building.
Currently, both she and the other members of her team were at least two kilometers away from the Garrison cannon blockade, though Flex and a couple of other Garrison had stayed a little closer to them for varied reasons. Team Levi was tasked with being the vanguard of the east evacuation center, and, at least in their sector, they had the highest kill count thus far, with no deaths on their team to boot.
Kicking off the nape of a twelve metre Titan and landing on a building, Moblit shook his head before he jogged towards his Captain and turned towards where they suspected the explosion to have come from, the gate that led to Maria. Adjusting her glasses ever so slightly, Hanji narrowed her eyes behind them, though it was more or less for dramatic effect as she could tell what she was looking at.
Smoke. Smoke was slowly being sent up into the air at the very edge of the gate to Maria. For a moment, Hanji thought, or prayed, that the smoke came from a cannon which had internally combusted. But after some time, the smoke slowly dissipated, proving what Hanji had feared for a short time.
"Please tell me that my eyes deceive me, Hanji," came Sys' voice from behind her, prompting the woman in question to turn and face Sys, who appeared to be close to having a heart attack, while Levi landed behind him, with a Titan falling down to its side in the background all the while.
"Well, about that, Sys…"
The smoke was thicker than anything the Garrison had seen.
After the soldiers had witnessed Maria get broken down like nobody's business, a Commander had sent a team down to investigate the breach and to check if anyone had survived the 'Armoured' Titan's charge. A quarter of the group had moved to check on the cannon squad, hoping beyond hope that there was at least one survivor while the remaining members had moved to check in on the Armoured Titan's location.
Despite being very hesitant, the Garrison charged straight into the smoke which had been shot up into the air when the gate was broken. One of them had said that it was a dumb idea, but he was ignored, as the leader of the group was, unfortunately, a junior hotshot.
For a moment, the group zipped through the smoke, seeing practically nothing inside as they went through. Though after about a second, something which was most likely the arm of the fifteen metre Titan came swinging right at them. The Garrison were quick to evade the arm, though rather unfortunately, its hand managed to connect with their Commander, who had not seen it until it was too late. The strike reduced him into nothing more than a fine red paste and prompted his subordinates to gasp in shock.
"Commander!" proclaimed a Garrison behind the commander who was completely pulverised, though she quickly regained focus when another arm was sent towards her, prompting her to take evasive action. She managed to dodge most of the arm, but her foot rammed directly into it's wrist, and the momentum and impact force completely fractured it, sending her spiraling out of control.
Thankfully for her, however, a fellow Garrison had snatched her out of the air before she hit the ground. As for the others who were still intact and in the air, they latched onto the side of Maria so that they could get a closer look at the 'Armoured' Titan as the smoke cleared. And, as they were not running for their lives, at the moment, the Garrison could more clearly discern what it looked like.
Aside from the bony plates of armour, they noted that it had blonde hair, something rare among Titans as their hair was almost always black in colour for whatever reason. A more observant member of the team also noted that there appeared to be flesh under the plates of armour. He relayed that fact to another member in their team, the one who took up leadership after their Commander had met his rather anticlimactic end.
"If it has flesh, then it means that we can kill it…" muttered the new leader of the group, unsheathing a blade as the other members of his team feared what he was about to suggest as he turned towards the boy who was still holding the girl with the fractured leg. "Get her out of here. The rest of you…"
"I was worried you'd say that," admitted a Garrison, effectively cutting the soldier off as he kicked off the Wall and sprung towards the Titan, prompting the guy to gasp in shock.
"No, wait!" proclaimed the soldier as his comrade launched towards the armoured Titan, aiming for a small gap between the armour segments of the nape. However, before his swing could connect, the Titan shifted its neck upwards a little, in turn causing its armour plates to shift backwards and shield its nape from the slash and causing the blades to snap on impact..
Widening his eyes as his blades snapped, the junior immediately shot a wire away from the Titan, though he wasn't fast enough to avoid getting smacked by the palm of the Titan. On impact, the Titan reduced him to a fine, red mist, prompting his fellow Garrison to gasp in shock at seeing another one of their comrades be dispatched so easily, but they got over their shock quickly as the Titan shot another fist at them.
The remaining five Garrison circled the Titan several times, looking for a potential weak spot and an opening to strike at. Unfortunately, they could not spot any, and even if they could, the 'Armoured' Titan gave them no time to strike, keeping them on their toes as they tried to weed out a weak point.
And suddenly, a female Garrison swung in. Gritting her teeth, she narrowed her eyes as she zoned in on a small, practically unnoticeable gap in the armour which protected the back of the Titan's knee. She got up close and swung her blades, and by some miracle, she managed to nick it just enough to get its attention.
The Titan gave a groan as it's knee buckled a little, though it didn't take too long for it to turn towards the female and swing its arm at her. The Garrison, still recovering from the attack, was able to avoid most of the strike, though her left shin was hit by the 'Armoured' Titan's finger, shattering it all the while.
Screaming, the Garrison was sent flying towards the Wall, the pain clouding her mind and stopping her from recovering. Thankfully, the team's new leader managed to snatch her out of the air before she became a red stain on the Wall before he latched onto the Wall, with the two of them well out of reach of the 'Armoured' Titan.
"You alright?" asked the Garrison, and the female grimaced at him.
"Do I look alright, sir?" she snarled at him, and the one who held her turned his attention to her left shin, wincing when he realized that it was most likely pulverised by now.
"N-No, you don't," replied her new commander as another Garrison latched himself next to the commander. He had a slick layer of sweat on his forehead as he replaced his blades.
"Sir, please tell me you have a plan," pleaded the soldier as he turned to his senior, who grumbled in response to his question.
"Well, there's a small plan which I've got," muttered the commander uneasily as he grimaced. "We hold this thing off until the actual Survey Corps get here."
"...so we're bait for now?" muttered the uneasy Garrison, pointing at the 'Armoured' Titan with the tip of his blade. The Commander responded with a nod.
"Got a better idea?" asked the female Garrison that the commander was holding onto. She winced in pain as her commander turned to look at her, unintentionally shaking her pulverised leg as he did. "Just get me out of here, please?"
"I know, but…" muttered the commander, and he was cut off when he noticed a barely noticeable blur burst into the fray, heading straight for the 'Armoured' Titan. The blur whizzed past its shoulder, and, unexpectedly, the 'Armoured' Titan stepped back as soon as the blur shot past it, gripping its shoulder in apparent pain.
After curving around the Titan, the blur latched itself against Wall Maria, not too far from the three Garrison soldiers, and showed itself to be none other than Levi Ackerman, who, despite being up against an 'Armoured' Titan, still remained impressively neutral as he glanced up at the team.
"Commander," began Levi, narrowing his eyes as he spoke and causing all three soldiers to shudder a little. "Get your team to fall back. We'll handle this."
"Roger!" exclaimed the Garrison commander without hesitation as he gave the order to retreat, leaving Levi and his team to fend off the 'Armoured' Titan. They knew that he was no pushover, and if anyone could handle this thing, it was Levi.
"AAAAAAAH!" came a yell not too long after, prompting everyone, including the Titan, whose small shoulder injury had regenerated by then, to turn towards the breach in the Wall Maria and spot Hanji with her eyes wide and mouth agape as she and the other Survey Corps/Garrisons that were part of Levi's team swung in. "THAT TITAN… LOOKS VERY INTERESTING!"
Upon hearing this, the Titan in question seemed to twitch its eye before launching a fist at them, though unlike their Garrison companions, the Survey Corps managed to dodge the strike. As for Levi, he closed his eyes for a moment, sighed, before reopening them.
"I hate this job."
A couple minutes ago
Pushing down on both of Barbatos' arm controllers, Mika swung his unit's Wrench Mace downwards onto a five metre humanoid with one of its arms. The impact had not only demolished the thing, but it had also embedded the Mace into the ground.
Despite that, however, Barbatos managed to pull it out with little to no trouble and swung it effortlessly at an approaching humanoid that stood at nearly Fifteen metres in height. The Fifteen metre came charging at Barbatos from behind, and even if it bothered to, it wouldn't even have time to dodge that powerful roundabout swing with the Wrench Mace. The strike decimated it's entire torso, causing it to explode into a massive explosion of gore and guts.
Following up on that, Mika turned his unit towards another approaching Fifteen metre. It approached Mika wobbly, and Augus narrowed his eyes as he raised Barbatos' longsword wielding arm unit upwards. Without warning, the Fifteen metre charged at the Gundam, with both the unit and its pilot just staring at it for a while. Right as it was about five metres away, however, Mika swung Barbatos' Longsword at its legs, and with a single, powerful swing, the blade sliced off both of its legs, causing it to tumble down face first onto the ground, coming to a halt right at Barbatos' feet units.
Without much hesitation, the pilot lifted his Gundam's foot unit and crushed the skull of the human looking thing, and when he lifted his unit's foot up, Mika barely even reacted to the blood that was stuck onto the unit's sole.
With that done, Mika adjusted Barbatos' grip on the Wrench Mace and held it upside down before slamming it's 'snout' into the ground, denting it ever so slightly. Inside the cockpit, Mika began massaging both his wrists as he tried to rid them of a small amount of aching, something which only happened when he was fighting a Mobile Suit with a pilot who could rival his skills.
However, this was the first time where his wrists, fingers and, to a certain extent, elbows, were aching not because the opposition was a real bitch to destroy, but because of the amount of them there were. For every single humanoid he had pulverised, another would pop up to fill it's shoes. It was truly quantity over quality for this battle.
As he massaged his hands, Augus sighed and closed his eyes, allowing himself to catch a slight breather as he did. For the past hour or so, he has been wiping the floor with these humanoid things. They stood no chance against him, or Barbatos to be more specific, to say the least, and in a way, it was very therapeutic, to be able to wipe out so many opponents in such a short amount of time. It was, admittedly, enough to make Mika forget about his worries for the time being.
From time to time, the boy did manage to save a person or two, though it was all indirectly. While he did still feel a small tinge of disgust and anger whenever he saw a person be torn apart by those things, Mika didn't have any obligation to protect them. They weren't his responsibility, after all.
The boy did take note of one thing, however. From time to time, he did overhear people refer to the humanoid things as 'Titans', which was fitting, he supposed. And, at least on one occasion, a soldier he indirectly saved from getting eaten alive did refer to Barbatos as an Abnormal Titan, whatever that meant. Mika wasn't exactly one to remember names, though he did manage to remember the 'Titan' name, considering how short it was, and ended up referring to the humanoids as such.
'Titans. I would probably find them threatening if Barbatos wasn't so strong,' thought Mika semi sarcastically as he had his unit glance over to the side and stare at an approaching Titan. The thing wobbled a little towards him before breaking out into a full blown sprint, though Mika didn't exactly care much as he simply watched as it lunged at his Gundam when it was close enough, prompting him to step to the side and dodge the lunge with very little issue, causing the Titan to fall face first onto the ground.
As it recovered, Mika turned his unit towards the massive Wall that separated the breached area from another possible safe haven. Rubbing his cheek a little, Mika began to wonder if Barbatos could just leap across the Fifty metre wall. It was a dumb idea, though it was also the only idea Mika had at the moment, and as such, it was all he had to work with for now.
'I guess if I use all the boosters, it could work,' thought Mika as he tapped several on screen prompts on his unit's cockpit monitor. Using the Alaya Vijnana system, Mika tapped through several commands before he somehow made it to a screen which showed him the maximum jumping height of his Gundam. Impressively enough, even when under the strain of gravity, the unit could leap well over fifty metres if assisted by all the boosters. Of course, the monitor did warn him about how it would be a bit of a crackshot due to how the unit was missing its main backpack booster, though it was still worth a shot.
And so, he decided that he would just jump over the Wall, straight and simple! He had faith in Barbatos' jumping ability, and as he thought that, the young pilot aimed his Gundam's Autocannon off to the side and, with the help of the Alaya Vijnana system, fired a shot towards the Titan that had attempted to lunge at his unit a few seconds prior, with said shot ripping straight through its throat and causing it to soar backwards.
'I shouldn't do it while it's still bright out, though,' thought Mika as he glanced up at the sky. Nothing really said subtle like a massive 18.8 metre tall mecha leaping over a wall, though Augus reckoned that he could perhaps be a little more subtle if he leapt over the Fifty metre wall when it was dark out rather than when it was still sunny. There were soldiers atop those walls, after all, and they'd undoubtedly see something as big as Barbatos if it tried to leap over the Wall, though there was less of a chance of that happening when it was dark.
And with that in mind, the young man nodded a little before sighing to himself, deciding that his next course of action would be to just stay hidden until night came and scale the massive, unbreached Wall. It wasn't a flawless plan, not in the slightest, but it was still something…
However, as his strange luck would have it, mere seconds after he had come up with his plan, the boy felt the earth shake below Barbatos' leg units. The force was strong enough to knock his unit off balance, though thankfully enough it stayed upright, even if Mika was shaken up just a little by the sudden quake. The boy recovered quickly, groaning in annoyance as he regained his somewhat lost marbles.
"What is it with this place and tremors…" grumbled the boy, a question directed at no one in particular as he turned his MS towards where he assumed it originated from, and only found himself internally sighing as he saw some smoke coming from what used to be the gate of the other Wall.
"I hate this place."
Zipping around the Armoured Titan as fast as their maneuver gear would allow them, 'Team Levi' circled around the Titan cautiously, with none of them wishing to get too close to the thing as they knew that it could very easily kill them with a single strike.
The Titan itself was swinging its arms around as though it were trying to hit a swarm of flies, which wasn't exactly an inaccurate description of the soldiers around it at the moment.
With a rather graceful, and possibly logic defying backflip, Levi narrowly dodged a swing from the arm of the Armoured Titan and attempted to take a stab at the armour between its upper and lower arm. The strike had just barely missed, with his blades instead scraping against the plates which protected the flesh of the fifteen metre. Thankfully, for the most part, his blades were not broken… yet.
Following up from Levi, another soldier, a Garrison, attempted a slice at the waist of the Titan after noting a rather noticeable gap there. However, before he could even take a swing, the Titan grabbed the man in it's armoured hand before giving him a proper squeeze, causing him to implode in an explosion of blood and gore.
"Gilhart!" proclaimed a Garrison as she kicked off the side of Maria, about to launch herself towards the Armoured Titan, only to have the fist of the fifteen metre slam it's fist straight into the poor lady, denting the Wall as what remained of her was crushed between the fist and Wall, in turn causing several of the soldiers to gasp in shock.
"This is going to Hell real fast…" muttered Flex as she watched yet another one of her fellow soldiers killed, eyes wide and a grimace on her face. Beside her, Sys gave a firm nod.
"Yeah," agreed Sys as he gripped his blades a tad tighter while lamenting the events which had occurred in the past few minutes. This Titan… it wasn't like the others. If anything, it was like that Abnormal Titan which they had encountered outside mere hours ago. It seemed to react as fast as a regular human, perhaps even faster, able to counter everything they had thrown at it with little to no effort, at least from what they could see anyways. The only real difference between the two Abnormals, outside of appearance, was how this one was actively trying to kill them while the other had apparently tried to protect them in some way.
And, unfortunately, at least half of their team was obliterated by the Titan. Even their top pair of soldiers, Levi and Hanji, couldn't effectively get close enough to even hurt it before they had to dodge a strike. Hell, the Titan could even handle both of them at once, at one point it even countered a tag team strike which Hanji had suggested she and Levi perform, nearly killing the former as it did.
"Sys, snap out of it, dammit!" came Hanji's voice as she whizzed past the man in question, making Sys yelp softly as she blasted straight at the fifteen metre, hoping to exploit its blind spot and take it down if possible. Shockingly enough, however, the Titan saw her coming and swung it's arm at her. Hanji didn't evade, at least until the very last minute, where she just barely dodged the arm by a hair's length, an act that nearly gave her fellow soldiers, primarily Moblit, heart attacks. The Titan seemed caught off guard by that, giving Hanji enough time to move in close and land a strike in between the plates on its face, right between the armour plating of its cheek and chin.
The strike seemed to hurt the Titan enough to make it let out an angered roar, making a few recoil at the sudden and unexpected noise. Hanji was even pushed back by that roar, and was forced to fall back.
However, there was something the Survey Corps and Garrison had forgotten about in the rather grueling fight, and it was a very important thing, gas for their maneuver gear.
The prolonged battle had cost them a lot of gas, with some using more of it than others, primarily the Survey Corps, who moved around more than their Garrison peers and thus used much more gas than their Wall Mender counterparts. And even then, some Survey Corps used more gas than others, namely the two Elites, Hanji and Levi.
While Levi did move much more sporadically than Hanji did, moving in zig zags and using some rather over the top maneuvers, he managed to make use of his gas rather sparingly, in short, strong bursts that, while simple in concept, was able to propel Levi forward in his endless onslaught while conserving as much of it as possible. Hanji, on the other hand, moved less intensely than her friend did, instead moving in more simple ways and using equally simple maneuvers, but she ended up using more gas as, instead of short, strong bursts, the lady used long, strong streams of gas to propel herself onwards.
As a result of that, Hanji's gas supply had drained itself a lot more than Levi. And as her usually strange luck would have it, Hanji's gas supply had run out right at the moment where she had launched away from the Titan, sending her flying backwards. She had tried to activate her gear, but she was only greeted by her maneuver gear controller's clicks and the actual gear running on empty.
"Oh for fucks sake," grumbled Hanji as she fell, though thankfully, a fellow soldier had snatched her out of the air before she even got close to the ground. The Survey Corp who had just saved her skin latched himself against the Wall of Maria, holding Hanji in a bridal-esc fashion. If it were anyone else, Hanji wouldn't say anything more than a quick thanks, but the fact that her savior was Levi changed that, prompting her to smirk a little.
"You alright, Foureyes?" asked Levi, sounding neutral as he kept himself latched against the Wall. Hanji simply nodded as she offered a small thumbs up, and at that, Levi seemed to be ready to reply with something else, only to pause when he noticed the Armoured Titan turning around to face them. The Titan's eyes seemed to burn with rage as it pulled back an arm, ready to smash it straight into Levi and Hanji, before it blasted forward at an impressive speed, too quick for Levi to dodge.
Time seemed to slow to a standstill as Levi and Hanji watched the fist close in on them, their depressingly short and painful lives flashing quickly before their eyes. Hanji's first Titan kill, the day Erwin invited Levi into the Survey Corps, the first time the two of them were paired up together, the warm fuzzy feelings both felt when fighting together.
And, for whatever reason, there was a strange noise in the background of their memories. It wasn't just Sys, Moblit and several others shouting out their names as they blasted towards them at full speed in an attempt to save them. No, it was vaguely something that sounded familiar, something the two of them had heard mere hours ago.
Mere moments before the fist could collide with the two Survey Corps, however, a vaguely familiar piece of scrap metal came into view and clamped itself down on the forearm of the Titan like a vice. The piece of scrap stopped the fist dead in the air, effectively saving Levi and Hanji's lives, though the sudden stop did create a minor shockwave that rattled them up a little.
Despite their pounding hearts, however, both Levi and Hanji managed to tear their gaze away from the fist which was nearly an arm length away from them and turned to face the mechanical face of a somewhat familiar hunk of junk, which stared back with its glassy green eyes.
And, despite their current situation, Hanji managed to flash a shaky smile when he saw the face of the Mechanical Titan gazing back at the two.
"How convenient…"
Holding the Wrench Mace with both of Barbatos' arm units, Mika clamped down on the Titan's forearm. The force the Wrench asserted was so intense that it stopped it's fist as it was launching a punch.
When Mika had seen what was most likely a new breach in the inner Wall, he went forward to investigate it out of natural curiosity. There, right in front of the breach and outside of the smoke, he saw what appeared to be the remains of six medieval-esc cannons lined up in a defensive formation. The four which were lined up in the middle seemed to be trampled by something while the two which were by the sides appeared relatively untouched.
Mika also noted several bodies on the ground. Most were dead, some were still alive, though just barely. Mika, while he did feel at least a small pang of guilt for doing so, had disregarded them and made his way into the Wall through the breach, only to see several familiar, green jacket wearing, human figures who were somehow flying, attempting to down a Fifteen metre Titan.
Zooming in on the scene, Mika observed the conflict for a few seconds in a somewhat curious way. Despite himself, the boy couldn't help but feel uncharastically bad for the group. They were doing their best to take it down, but were clearly having no luck in doing so. The boy allowed himself to wince slightly when he saw the Titan crush another soldier in its fist.
"This is going to Hell fast!" exclaimed one of the flying soldiers, though Mika didn't exactly pay it much mind as he grimaced. The desperation in that voice made the boy feel an odd… sensation in his stomach as he gripped the control sticks of his Gundam tightly. It reminded him of how he was back in the day, a defenseless child who had little to no way to protect himself.
He only had Orga back then to advise him, but aside from him, the boy was left to fend for himself. The desperation in that voice reminded him of how it felt back then, the feeling of defenceless, of being desperate for someone to protect him. And it was enough to spur him into motion.
Subconsciously, the boy began moving Barbatos forward. One step, two step, three, then four… Mika kept his unit moving until the Gundam began boosting towards the Titan which, by now, was launching a fist at two soldiers latched onto the Wall. With a grimace, Mika had Barbatos drop the Longsword, with the weapon landing on its side behind it as he had his unit grip the Wrench Mace with both manipulators. And, right before the fist connected with the two, Mika had his Gundam lash the Wrench Mace out at the Titan's forearm, and with very little effort, he clamped the jaws of the Mace around the Titan's forearm and stopped it dead in the air.
While he kept the Titan in place, Mika heard several gasps from the other soldiers who were still alive. He did feel a small amount of pride at that, but he quickly dismissed it before he stared at the Titan that was ensnared in the Wrench Mace. The thing seemed a lot different when compared to the regular Titans that he's seen in the past.
Even so, it was still a Titan and still an enemy by default, and as such, Mika was quick to shift Barbatos' footing and jerked the Wrench Mace to the side, effectively pushing the Titan that he caught in its jaws backwards. The Titan lost hold of its footing, and Mika took advantage of that and, with all the power that Barbatos had in its upper body, he swung both the Wrench Mace and Titan caught in its jaws towards the breached Wall, slamming it against the massive structure and causing the entire thing to shake violently. A massive amount of dirt and dust was ejected up into the air as soon as the Titan made contact with the wall.
The shockwave of the impact caused several of the soldiers to get pushed back and for the arm of the Titan to get ripped straight off its socket. As for the Gundam and its pilot, Mika simply shifted Barbatos' grip on the Wrench Mace, releasing the severed arm from its jaws all the while, and held its weapon with both manipulators to prepare it for a follow potential up attack. It was very unlikely, but this specific Titan appeared to be more hardy than the others he slaughters, so he supposed it wouldn't be bad to be ready, just in case..
And as they watched in silent shock, the Survey Corps and Garrison felt their heartbeat increase as the 'Mechanical Titan' stood silently in a position which seemed to resemble a defensive stance, perhaps expecting the Armoured Titan to emerge from the smoke and attack.
The soldiers swung themselves onto ground level at Hanji's request, and while the Garrison were reluctant to do so, Hanji managed to goad them into following, ignoring their concerns regarding limited gas as she looked up at the Mechanical Titan, more focused on it than on the she was on the dissipating smoke which clouded the Armoured Titan.
Thankfully for them, when the smoke dissipated, it revealed the body of the Armoured Titan lying on its side, lifeless and unmoving. Upon seeing that, the Survey Corps and Garrison relaxed a little, just a little though, as they had another potential problem right in front of them.
When it saw that the Armoured Titan was (presumably) dead, the Mechanical Titan dropped it's defensive stance, lowering it's weapon and slamming the top half into the ground before straightening itself out, seemingly not noticing the soldiers behind it. While most of them stared at it with wide eyed terror, Hanji seemed to be the only one who was smiling as she stared at the 'Titan's' back. Now that it wasn't dark and as they were not in an exactly dire situation, Hanji could see more clearly what the Mechanical Titan looked like.
The woman already knew most of the basics in regards to what the Titan looked like as, even though it was very dark back when they first saw it, she could make out the major details on the thing, such as the predominantly white armour, grey 'skeleton' and several pipes and pistons coloured copper, silver and bronze, the woman still smiled as she could now see the amount of mechanical detail on the thing much more clearly.
Panel lines adorned the Titan's dirty, dented 'armour', panel lines which seemed too advanced to be developed naturally, reinforcing one of Hanji's theories in regards to this thing was not a naturally developed Titan. Other things she noticed were that the fingers of the Titan were sharpened to the point where they almost resembled claws and that the thing seemed to rock some strange high heel esc feet.
However, as she was watching the Titan with intense curiosity, she was so lost in her own thoughts that she didn't notice the Mechanical Titan turning around and diverted it's green, piercing eyes towards them. The other soldiers took several steps back in fear, even Levi.
Hanji, on the other hand, seemed to be ready to say something, but she was cut off when a loud boom could be heard from above the Walls. When it came up, the Mechanical Titan whirled around and swung it's mace weapon in an upwards motion, knocking a cannonball fired at it right out of the air before it managed to impact it. Turning their heads upwards, the Survey Corps and Garrison, and even the Mechanical Titan itself, saw at least ten soldiers manning a pair of Wall mounted cannons, both aimed at the Titan.
"HEY, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!" exclaimed Hanji at the very top of her lungs, making everyone turn to stare at her, even the Mechanical Titan. Though their attention was torn away from her when another shot was fired at the Titan. This time, the Titan leapt to the side, dodging the shot which landed about twenty metres away from the soldier group. As soon as it landed, the 'Titan' knelt down and picked its Longsword off the ground.
Even from where they stood, the soldiers on the ground could tell that the apparent commander of the Garrison group up top was giving his soldiers a good scolding for nearly killing their fellow soldiers, and he was so preoccupied with it that he completely forgot about the Mechanical Titan which had, by now, moved well out of the range of the cannons.
Turning to look at her, Flex noted that Hanji seemed just a little angry… and that was putting it lightly. A part of her was fearful that Hanji would just take off on her own and chase the Mechanical Titan on her own. Thankfully, Levi got the bespectacled woman's attention by giving her a solid thump on the head.
"Hanji, we're falling back," he ordered, narrowing his eyes at her.
"But the Mechanical Titan…!" retorted Hanji.
"We'll worry about the Mechanical Titan later, Hanji," said Sys, right when the first Titan entered Maria through the hole in the Wall. "For now, we must warn the residents of Maria about the new breach and evacuate them immediately!"
Opening her mouth, Hanji was about to retort, but reconsidered it. It took her awhile, but after a defeated sigh, Hanji gave a reluctant nod.
"But my maneuver gear…" she pointed out, looking at her fellow soldiers.
"Someone's gonna have to carry you," suggested a Survey Corp, looking rather cheeky and suggestive as she positioned his hands on his hips, though he took a step back when Moblit gave him a glare which told him that if he even dare touch her, he would pay dearly. "Of course… not me… hehah…"
"Whatever," grumbled Hanji, sounding annoyed as she shook her head. Turning to Levi, she gave a suggestive shrug, and Levi pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Fine," he said, sheathing his blades and cracking his knuckles. "But just this once, Hanji."
Elsewhere
Mika made sure that Barbatos was well away from the cannons before he kicked down on the leg units of his Gundam, prompting the unit in question to slam both its feet units into the ground, slowing it down dramatically before it ground to a stop.
As soon as his unit came to a halt, and after it had created some rather deep indents in the dirt below it, Mika had Barbatos stand itself upright and turned back to face the breach it had entered. Inside the cockpit, Mika cursed silently. However, his mood lightened up ever so slightly when he saw yet another Wall within the newly breached one, so much so that he briefly forgot about his slight emotional moment back there.
Looking up into the sky, Mika noted that the sky was slowly getting dark. It was good, considering how he had originally planned on infiltrating the Wall in the dark of night. However, he had a feeling that he would need to eat or drink something soon.
Rubbing his chin, Mika bent forward on the cockpit chair and groped the space which was under the monitor. There, he found his Tekkadan jacket and his pistol. His jacket was sprawled on the 'floor' of the cockpit, and the pistol was stuck against the bottom of the monitor via a makeshift pistol holder. There were no extra clips for the pistol, so he had to make his shots count if he ever intended to make use of it.
Picking up his jacket, Mika felt around it and slipped his hand into the left pocket, only to smile when he felt his hand wrap around his main raisin stash. It wasn't much, but it was good enough to last him for a few hours.
Sliding a hand into his stash, Mika pulled a medium sized raisin out and popped it into his mouth. And, despite being a dried grape, it still had enough juice inside of it to last him a few hours.
As he ate it, Mika felt something knock the leg unit of Barbatos. Turning his MS down to face it, he saw a five metre Titan knocking against his MS' leg, trying to bite into it.
With a disgusted huff, Mika placed his raisin bag back into the jacket pocket and turned to face the Titan. Crouching down, Mika got Barbatos to pick it up via it's head, lifting it up to optic level so that he could have a closer look at it.
"Disgusting," muttered Mika, and with a swift motion, he jerked Barbatos' arm unit to the side, inadvertently getting it to sidearm toss the Titan straight into the breached Wall, denting it slightly.
*checks the calendar* 58 days since I updated this story… sheesh.
Greetings. This is future Stryker from several years after this chapter was first posted. I returned to edit this and the outro. Hopefully it's better in some way. Regrdless I had fun rewriting a good chunk of this. You don't wanna see the previous mess.
I don't have much to say honestly. I just hope you all enjoyed the chapter... and onto the reviews:
Glasses Writer: Why thank you. Though I don't find it to be much better than the older one
HyperExia: ah shucks, you're making me blush :3
Alright, now… erm… I don't really have much else to say. So… see ya?
