Kanto Arc Chapter 2
Team Rocket and Viridian Forest
Hello, everyone, this chapter came out sooner than I thought it's also lengthy it introduces the loveable trio Team Rocket and includes Ash and Misty traveling through Viridian Forest there's also a certain rival character that makes his appearance and will play a big role in this arc, let's begin.
It's now nighttime and we see a female officer with blue hair standing guard at the front of the city she gives a small yawn. "Geez I'm bored" the officer says "Hello" the officer turns and sees a young boy covered in dirt holding an injured Pikachu.
The officer gasp and asks, "What happened!?"
We were attacked by wild Sperow my Pikachu and Caterpie are in bad condition please can you take me to Viridian City's Pokemon center" Ash asks kindly
"Of course, right away" the Officer nods and tells Ash to get on her motorcycle the two then drive off as fast as they could. As they leave, we see a very tired Misty caring her destroyed bike "Don't think you'll get away from me!" Misty shouts
"By the way my name is Officer Jenny" Jenny say's
"My name is Ash Ketchum from pallet town" Ash responds
"Nice to meet you Ash it's a good thing you ran into wild Spearow and not Team Rocket" Jenny tells
"Team Rocket? Ash asks in confusion
"Team Rocket is an evil gang that steal trainers Pokemon and will do it any means necessary we've gotten reports that two grunts and a Meowth are in the area, so we've been on high alert" Jenny says (though I was about to go to sleep) Jenny says in her mind
"I see I'll try and be careful" Ash says
Up in the sky hidden in the clouds there's a hot air balloon that has the face of a Meowth we see two people talking looking at wanted posters.
"I think they got my bad side" The woman with red hair says
"You always say that Jessie" The blue haired man responds
"We'll at least it's better than yours James" Jessie says while James give a small Hmph
"Hey this isn't the time for this we've got a mission did you two forget" Jessie and James look in the direction of the voice "Your right Meowth" Jessie and James say
"Stealing the Pokemon centers Pokemon is going to be easy we start in 30 minutes" Meowth says as Jessie and James nod their heads in agreement.
At the same time Officer Jenny drives her motorcycle inside the Pokemon Center and reaches the front counter.
"What's wrong with you Jenny!" a very angry nurse asks with her hands on her hips.
"Sorry nurse joy but we have an emergency" Jenny says
"What kind of emergency?" Joy asks then notices Ash holding Pikachu in his arms. Nurse Joy gasp at the sight of Pikachu and Ash.
"Please Nurse Joy you need to help my Pokemon both Pikachu and my Caterpie are very injured" Ash says pleadingly
"Of course," Nurse joy says with a serious expression and takes Pikachu and Caterpie to the back to begin treatment
"Looks like my work here is done take care Ash and I hope your Pokemon get better" Jenny says
"You too Officer Jenny" Ash responded, Jenny smiles and drives out of the Pokemon center. Ash then looks around for a video phone to call Professor Oak and his mom to tell them about his first day he spots one but before he walks to it he notices a kid around his age with purple hair and a mean looking face giving him a glance.
"Uh hello" Ash say's nervously
"Hmph" the boy says as he gets up from his chair and walks out of the Pokemon Center.
"Well, that was weird" Ash says to himself, he walks to the video phone and types in Professor Oaks number. The phone rings 3 times until someone picks up.
"Hello this is Professor Oak speaking" Oak says tiredly
"Hi Professor Oak" Ash says
"Hmm ah Ash my boy how are you doing? You look like you had a rough day" Oak says taking in the boy's appearance.
"Yeah, it was crazy" Ash says and begins to tell the Professor about his day.
"I see that's one crazy day you had If I compare it to Gary and Leaf's first day yours was definitely the most eventful" Oak says
"Yeah hehe" Ash chuckles while rubbing the back of his head
"Hmm and you also said you saw a Phoenix like Pokemon with Rainbow colors?" Oak asks
"Yes, it dropped this as well" Ash shows Professor Oak the Rainbow Wing
Professor Oak gets a shocked expression "So after hundreds of years the legendary Pokemon Ho-oh show's itself"
"Ho-oh?" Ash questions
"Yes Ho-oh it is said to be a legendary Pokemon to live in the neighboring region Johto and bring eternal happiness to all that see it" Oak says
"That's cool" Ash says excitedly "so what about this feather?" Ash asks, "Hmm I believe it allows the welder to see it again one day" Oak responds
"I can see Ho-oh one day that's awesome! I hope I get to battle it one day Gary and Leaf are going to be so jealous" Ash stands up and has an excited look on his face with stars in his eyes.
"Now Ash I know your excited, but you should be careful there must be a reason why Ho-oh gave you that feather and you shouldn't tell everyone you meet that you got the feather you never know who want it and use it for there own desires" Oak says with a stern look and a serious tone
"Yeah, your right" Ash signs in disappointment
"You can still tell people you really trust of course but still be very mindful" Oak says with a smile
"Yes sir" Ash says
"It was great talking to you Ash I hope the rest of your journey goes a lot smoother than today also make sure to call your mother she really wants to hear about your day" Oak says
"I will thank you Professor Oak" Ash says
"Anytime" Oak says and turns off the video call, Ash then call's his mother.
"Hello Ketchum residents gasp Ash is that you?" Delia asks
"Yeah, hey mom" Ash says nervously
"Ash what happened to you where are you and why are you so dirty?" Delia asks with concern in her voice
"Well, it's a long story" Ash tells his mother but leaves out his meeting with Ho-oh, after hearing everything Delia gives a sign a small chuckle
"You know something similar happened to me and your father" Delia says with a smile
"Really?" Ash questions
"Yes, just like you your father Red was late to get his starter luckily, he made it in time to receive his Charmander your father wanted to travel by himself, but I insisted to go along with him since I was worried for his safety. Unlike Pikachu your father's Charmander listened to him right away and was able to help him capture a Pidgey" Delia says
"So, what went wrong? Ash asks"
"Your father was so high off of catching a Pidgey and thought it would be a good idea to challenge the leader of the forest a big Fearow I tried to talk him out of it but he wouldn't listen and he grabbed the nearest rock and threw the rock at the Pokemon which made it angry the Fearow chased us close to Viridian City we were almost there but I tripped and twisted my ankle I didn't have any Pokemon with me the Fearow had its claws out ready to grab me but your father quickly turned around and sent out his Charmander and Pidgey it was a difficult fight that lasted 30 minutes but your father came out on top with Charmander activating its blaze ability and unleashing a powerful flamethrower which knocked the Pokemon out allowing Red to catch it after that he tended to my wounds and carried me back to the Pokemon center I always had a crush on him but after that moment was when I fully fell in love with him just thinking about it again makes me happy" Delia says in a very happy tone.
"Whoa I knew dad was/is a great trainer and person, but I didn't know that's how his first day went" Ash says with a shocked expression
"Yes, I'll make sure to tell him all about your first day whenever he gets back, I'm sure he'll be proud of you" Delia says
"Thanks mom" Ash says, the two talk a little bit more before ending the phone call.
"YOU!" An angry voice shouts as Ash turns his head, he gets a horrified look
"There you are Ash Ketchum!" Misty says angerly
"What happened to your bike?" Ash questions nervously
"Your what happened to my bike and you're going to pay me back!" Misty responds
"Uh could this day get any worse?" Ash questions as he puts his hand on his face, on cue the lights turn off and both Ash and Misty hear explosions
"What's going on?!" Nurse Joy quickly runs out
"We're not sure" Ash and Misty respond, they then hear two people laugh
"To protect the world from devastation", "to unite are people in every nation", "To denounce the evils of truth and love", "To extends our reach to the stars above"
"Jessie"
"James"
"Team Rocket blast off to the speed of light surrender now or prepare to fight"
"Mewoth that's right"
"Team Rocket? Ah you're the thieves Officer Jenny told me about" Ash say's
"Hmmm you seem pretty smart" Jessie says
"If you know who we are then you know what we're here for" James says with a grin
"Hand us your Pokemon!" Meowth responds
Ash, Misty and Nurse Joy are shocked to hear a Meowth speak but quickly compose themselves.
"The Pokemon here are extremely injured I kindly ask you to leave" Nurse joy says with a serious expression
"Hey, look James the nurse is trying to be scary" Jessie says in a sarcastic tone
"Oh, whatever should we do Jessie" James responds in a sarcastic tone as well
"Well, take them by force!" Both Jessie and James say and send out their Pokemon, Ash brings out his Pokedex and scans the Pokemon of Ekans and Koffing.
"Koffing use smog" James yells
"Ekans use Poison sting" Jessie says
The two Pokemon fire their attacks, but Ash, Misty and Nurse joy successfully dodge
"We need to save the Pokemon!" Nurse joy says and runs to the back with Ash and Misty following behind
Meanwhile Offcer Jenny notices what's going on at the Pokemon Center calls for back up and quickly heads to the center. "I hope I'm not too late" Jenny thinks
Nurse joy, Ash and Misty are in the back of the room trying to save as many Pokemon as they can by putting them on the transporter and sending them to the nearest center, Team Rocket then bust down the door.
"We've got you now" Meowth says as it, Koffing and Ekins enter the room
"Well guess will just have to fight" Misty says and throws out a Pokeball
"Go Starmie!" Misty calls and a star shape Pokemon appears ready for battle
"Darn I wish I had Pikachu and Caterpie with me I only have empty Pokeballs" Ash says in anger as he's going through his Pokeball's he notices that he does have a third Pokemon and wonders when he caught it.
"Hey if you have a Pokemon send it out already" Misty says in annoyance
"Uh right" Ash says as he throws the ball, everyone looks in awe at what Pokemon it is Ash and Misty's smiles instantly go away when they see it's a Magickarp.
"Karp Karp" the fish says as it flops on the ground
Ash, Misty, even Joy and Starmie are dumbfounded while Team Rocket laughs
"Hahahahahahaha what's that useless fish going to do?" Meowth says while laughing hysterically
"You're going eat those words my Magickarp is strong" Ash says with a determined look
"Do you really believe that?" Misty glares at Ash
"Yes!" Ash says
"Sign fine Starmie use Psychic" Misty says catching Meowth, Koffing and Ekans off guard and pushing them out of the room "Way to go Starmie!" Misty says "Hiya" Starmie responds
"Fine take this Ekans use wrap then bite" Jessie commands
"Koffing use poison gas" James says
"Starmie try to dodge" Misty calls but Ekans is too fast is able to wrap the Starfish Pokemon and bites it continuously. Koffing comes in close and sprays Poison gas on Starmie successfully poisoning the Pokemon.
"Starmie no!" Misty says in a worried tone she looks at Ash and Magickarp and gets angry "Hey shouldn't you do something my Starmie is getting teamed up on" Misty says in anger
"You think I haven't been trying" Ash turns to Misty with an annoyed look then looks back at Magickarp
"Come on Magickarp I know you can help!" Ash asks pleadingly
"Karp Karp" Magickarp says again, and Ash points his head down in disappointment, in Magickarp's mind he wonders why he's in a strange place he then looks to see a Starmie in trouble and a boy giving him commands "this must be my trainer" Magickarp thinks and gets a determined look on his face, Ash notices and smiles.
"Alright Magickarp use tackle on Ekans to release Starmie" Ash says
"KARP!" Magickarp gives a mighty yell fly's high into the air and hits Ekans head releasing Starmie
"Now use Tackle on Koffing" Ash says again and Magickarp does just that knocking the gas Pokemon away, Meowth and James try to grab Magickarp but the Pokemon is too slippery it Tackle's Meowth in the stomach and slaps James in the face with its tail.
"Yeah, way to go Magickarp let's keep going" Ash says happily
"Karp Karp!" Magickarp says while flopping up and down happily
Everyone is shocked to see just how strong Magickarp is, even Misty "this kids impressive" she thinks to herself
"AHHHHH this is ridiculous how are you letting this child and fish get the better of you?!" Jessie asks in anger
"Easy for you to say you didn't get slapped in the face" James says while rubbing his sore face
"Or hit in the stomach" Meowth says while Koffing and Ekans nod in agreement
"Whatever we can still win this we have them outnumbered once that Starmie falls to the poison it will be easy to take down that fish" Jessie says with an evil grin
James, Meowth, Koffing and Ekans turn back to the children the battle is about to start again but before it does everyone hears the name "Pika" everyone looks at the counter and Ash's Pikachu is there fully conscious.
"Pikachu" Ash says happily, Pikachu nods his head at Ash in acknowledgement, Pikachu looks at Jessie, James, Meowth and there Pokemon, sparks his cheeks and fires a Thunderbolt. Team rocket had no time to react and are blasted off back to their balloon the roof to the center is also destroyed.
Everyone is shocked at what happened, but Ash instantly runs to Pikachu and gives the yellow mouse a big hug.
"Way to go Pikachu!" Ash says
"Chaaa" Pikachu says happily
"Karp Karp" Magickarp says looking back to his trainer and Pikachu
"Oh, right Pikachu this is Magickarp he's are new teammate/friend" Ash says, Pikachu and Magickarp happily greet each other.
"Well looks like it's over" Misty says with a relief sign while giving Starmie an antidote
"Yes, it is" Nurse Joy says before she hears police sirens coming to the Pokemon Center
"Is everyone okay" Officer Jenny asks, the three humans nod in agreement, Nurse joy gives a detailed report of what happened allowing Jenny and the other policeman to head out and search for Jessie, James and Meowth. Nurse joy also allows Ash and Misty to stay in the center to rest for the night and they can head out in the morning.
Meanwhile high in the sky covered in black smoke Team Rocket question their next move.
"Uhhh we would've won if it wasn't for that Pikachu" Jessie says in anger
"I agree that Pikachu was strong" James comments
"Hmmm I got it why don't we try stealing that Pikachu I'm sure the boss would be happy" Meowth says
Jessie and James nod in agreement and start laughing evilly, unbeknownst to Team Rocket a stray Pidgey lands on their balloon and pokes a hole in it causing the balloon to spin out of control.
"LOOKS LIKE TEAM ROCKET IS BLASTING OFF AGAIN!" The trio say as they disappear into the night.
It's now the next morning Ash checked out of the Pokemon Center and is in Viridian Forest with Pikachu walking beside him.
"WAIT!" Ash and Pikachu turn around and see Misty chasing after them
"Uhh hey Misty" Ash says
"Don't hey Misty me mister you didn't think I would let you get away without making sure you repay my bike, did you?!" Misty says with an angry expression
"Ah I forgot" Ash thinks to himself, Pikachu looks at Ash and shakes his head in disappointment, Misty is about to yell at Ash again but feels something crawling up her leg she looks down and gives a scared expression.
"Hey a Weedle! I'm going to catch it" Ash says excitingly as he pulls out an empty Pokeball something unexpected happens.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Misty gives a loud scream that hurts both Ash and Pikachu's ears she runs forward grabbing Ash by the collar and runs full speed away from the Weedle, Pikachu gives chase.
"EW, EW, EW ,EW I HATE BUGS!" Misty screams
"Misty, you're choking me" Ash says in pain, after running for a minute they finally come to a stop Ash and Misty start to catch their breaths.
"You really don't like bugs, do you?" Ash asks
"NO Bugs are one of the 3 most disgusting things in the world!" Misty says
"Besides you what are the other 3" Ash says, Misty gives an annoyed look and is about to hit Ash in the head but stops herself and names the 3.
"Carrots, Peppers and Bugs" Misty says
"I see will I like all those things and I think your fear of bugs is silly my Caterpie will prove you wrong" Ash says making a funny face and grabbing Caterpie's Pokeball.
"Your Caterpie?" Misty asks with worry in her voice, Ash sends out the bug type while Misty goes and hides behind a tree.
"Hey Caterpie, you look a lot better" Ash says while looking at the small bug, Caterpie nods then sees Misty hiding behind a tree, Caterpie gives a happy scream and goes to rub Misty's leg much to Misty's annoyance. Misty quickly backs away from the bug hurting Caterpie's feelings Pikachu gives the bug a pat on the back.
"Hey, come on Misty you don't need to be so mean to Caterpie" Ash says in a disappointing tone
"Hmph well you can be friends with Caterpie while I'm friends with Pikachu" Misty says as she puts the yellow mouse on her lap.
Ash smirks "Well don't blame me if Pikachu shocks you, he doesn't do well with strangers" but to Ash's surprise Pikachu allows Misty to pet him.
"Pikachu" Ash says in anger/annoyance
Misty looks at Caterpie giving her a sad expression but quickly turns her head away but gives a small peek at the bug type
"Well, I don't think your disgusting Caterpie come on you won't bother Misty anymore" Ash says as he bends down for Caterpie to climb up his shoulder and Pikachu jumps out of Misty's lap.
"Wait where are you going? Misty asks
"We're leaving you behind and getting out of this forest see ya" Ash says as he and his Pokemon continue to walk
"But what about my bike? I'm still holding you responsible" Misty says getting Ash's attention
"I already said I'll pay you back one day so stop following us" Ash responds in an annoyed tone
"We'll seeing as this is the only way to get out of the forest, I have to go this way as well" Misty says with anger in her voice
"Fine then I don't care" Ash says and continues to walk, Pikachu looks back and forth at Ash and Misty and gives a tired look.
It's now nighttime Ash and Misty are sleeping in their sleeping bags, Pikachu hears footsteps and notices Caterpie on a log looking up at the sky, Pikachu walks over to the little bug, and they start talking. Caterpie begins to tell Pikachu his dream of one day becoming a Butterfree.
It's now the next morning Ash and Pikachu are still asleep Misty is the first to wake she feels something in her sleeping bag she looks and gets a horrified look on her face screaming so loud that it scares the Pidgey in a faraway tree.
"What's going on?!" Ash and Pikachu instantly wake up scanning the area but see nothing, Ash then looks over at Misty hiding away from Caterpie he gives a sign.
"Ash, I thought I told you to keep that bug away from me!" Misty says with a scared expression
"We'll it's not my fault that Caterpie wants to get close to you" Ash responded
Caterpie has tears coming out of it's eyes and begins to crawl away Ash tries his best to comfort Caterpie, but the bug continues and disappears into the bush, Ash looks at Misty with anger in his eyes.
"What's wrong with you!?" Caterpie's been nothing but nice to you and you've been treating him like garbage if someone did that to you or your Pokemon you wouldn't like that now would you!" Ash says
"I- "Misty was about to respond back but couldn't think of anything it's true she doesn't like bug Pokemon but Caterpie wasn't being mean or trying to scare her it really wanted to be her friend. Misty is about say she's sorry but before she could Ash, Misty and Pikachu hear Caterpie scream they hurry over see a Pidgeotto hovering over Caterpie.
"Caterpie!" Ash yells, "Pikachu use Thunderbolt" Ash commands, Pikachu gives a nod and unleashes the electric attack hitting the bird Pokemon, Pidgeotto looks over at Pikachu and charges a quick attack.
"Pikachu counter with your quick attack!" Ash commands, Pikachu and Pidgeotto collied with one another Pigeotto is about to fly away and attack again but notices Pikachu holding on its leg sparking its cheeks.
"Now Thunderbolt!" Ash yells
"Pikachuuuu!" Pikachu fires the attack point blank range both Pokemon fall on the ground, Pikachu still standing and Pidgeotto unconscious.
"Pika" Pikachu says to Ash, Ash nodding his head in understanding turns his hat around grabs one of his empty Pokeballs and throws it at Pidgeotto.
"Pokeball Go!" the ball hits the bird sucking it inside it shakes 2 times until it dings making it a successful catch, Ash would usually celebrate that he caught a new Pokemon but he quickly runs to Caterpie to check on its condition thankfully the injures are minor.
"Here use a Super Potion" Misty gives the medicine to Ash, Ash and Pikachu are shocked but Ash smiles.
"Thank you, Misty," Ash says as he sprays the potion on Caterpie
"Caterpie are you okay" Ash asks the bug, Caterpie blinks a few times but gives a happy cry and everyone gives a sign of relief
"Caterpie I'm sorry for calling you disgusting" Misty walks up to the bug Pokemon and bends down, "I promise I'll try and be your friend from now on if that's okay with you?" Misty says with a sorrowful look. Caterpie looks into Misty's eye's and gives a happy nod, and everyone smiles. But the moment is quickly ruined when they hear three familiar voices.
Team Rocket makes their appearance and give their motto.
"Team Rocket!" Ash and Misty say with anger in their voices
"We've returned and are here to steal your Pikachu" James says
"Pikachu?" Ash questions
"After defeating us at the Pokemon Center we've come to the decision to steal your Pikachu we think it'll be very useful to our organization" Jesse answers
"Yeah, so hand it over!" Meowth says
"Not a chance I'm not letting you take Pikachu" Ash responds back
"Fine then!" Jesse and James say and bring out their Pokemon
"2 against 1 that's not fair" Ash says "We're criminals' kid we don't play by the rules" James says with a smirk
Ash grits his teeth but feels a hand on his shoulder and sees Misty giving him a reassuring look.
"Don't forget Ash I'm here as well" Misty says with a wink and sends out her Starmie
"Thanks Misty" Ash says and looks at Pikachu "Let's go buddy!" Ash says
"Pika!" Pikachu nods in agreement
The battle begins Pikachu and Starmie are putting up a great fight against Koffing and Ekans but things go bad when Koffing gets sludge in Pikachu's eye forcing Pikachu to stop battling Misty and Starmie stop as well go to clean Pikachu's eyes.
"Why you!" Ash charges at team rocket and tries to throw a punch but James stops Ash with his finger and flicks his forehead causing Ash to back away.
"You know in a Pokemon battle the Pokemon do the battling right?" James says in a mocking tone
"I thought you guys said you don't play by the rules?" Ash questions
"Pokemon battles are an exception" Jessie says shrugging her shoulders
"Now hand over your Pikachu and the rest of your Pokemon" Meowth says
Ash not wanting to give up is about to bring out Pigeotto and Magickarp but stops when Caterpie jumps forward.
"You want to battle Caterpie?" Ash asks
"Aroo" Caterpie says and turns back with a serious expression. "Alright Caterpie I choose you" Ash says with confidence.
Jesse and Meowth laugh
"What's that little bug going to do" Jessie says while laughing
"Uhhh should we really underestimate it you remember his Magickarp right?" James says with a worried look on his face
"Oh, please Jimmy that was a fluke the kid just got lucky" Meowth says
"I guess your right let's take this bug down" James says with more confidence in his voice
"Come on Caterpie you can do this we believe in you" "Pika" "Hiya" Misty, Pikachu and Starmie cheer on Caterpie
"Go Koffing and Ekans" Jessie and James yell as the two Pokemon close in on Caterpie.
"Use string shot!" Ash yells Caterpie shoots out very thick String covering Koffings body and Ekans face Jessie, James and Meowth are left in disbelief
"You've got to be kidding me!" Jessie yells in anger
"I told you we shouldn't have underestimated it" James says with his confidence gone
"What do we do now?!" Meowth asks, Jessie looks at Meowth while Meowth looks at Jessie with a confused look.
"You're a Pokemon too so get in there and fight!" Jessie yells as she throws Meowth straight at Caterpie, Meowth screams but quickly brings out his claws to scratch at Caterpie.
"Caterpie use tackle on Koffing!" Ash says Caterpie quickly tackles Koffing in the air colliding with Meowth both Pokemon fall on Ekans and all three roll back to Jessie and James.
"Now String Shot again! And finish with Tackle" Ash says, Caterpie fires String shot at Jessie, James and there Pokemon together, Caterpie then charges at them and launching them all into the air.
"IT LOOKS LIKE TEAM ROCKETS BLASTING OFF AGAIN" The trio say as they fly through the air.
"Great job Caterpie" Ash says excitedly as his picks up the bug and hold it in the air congratulating it. Caterpie nods happily, Misty, Pikachu (the sludge is out of its eyes) and Starmie all cheer for Caterpie.
"See Misty Caterpie isn't so bad" Ash says looking at the young girl
"Your right" Misty smiles and walks over to the bug Pokemon to pet his head. As Misty'd hand is about to reach Caterpie the bug starts shooting string shot from its mouth surprising both Ash and Misty, Ash puts Caterpie down the two trainers and Pokemon watch as Caterpie body starts to change form.
What stands in front of everyone isn't a Caterpie but a Metapod.
"Congratulations Metapod you evolved" Ash says excitedly as he picks up the hard shell Pokemon
"Pika" Pikachu says happily
Misty is left stunned at what just happen, Ash looks at Misty and gives a smirk.
"So, Misty you still going to give Metapod a pat on the head?" Ash asks in a mocking tone
"Uhh I think I'll pass for now" Misty says as she returns Starmie and runs away from Ash.
"Come on Misty you just need to touch it once Hehehe" Ash says while laughing chasing Misty
"No way I hate bugs!" Misty responds but is also smiling
"Pika" Pikachu smiles and chases after the two trainers.
It's now the next day Misty is by herself currently looking for berry's when someone in what looks like a samurai suit jumps out from the bush and points his sword at her.
"AHHHHH!" Misty screams
"Are you a trainer from the town of pallet" the boy in the Samurai outfit asks
"No" Misty says in a very shaky voice
"I see I'm sorry I shall take my leave" The boy bows put his sword back in its sheath and walks away.
"That was weird" Misty says and gives sign of relief she then thinks "town of Pallet do I know anyone from there Oh no Ash" Misty gasp and hurriedly runs back to where Ash was to warn him.
Else where in the forest "Good job Magickarp" Ash says
"Karp Karp" Magickarp says as it happily jumps up and down next to the defeated Weedle
"Alright Weedle your mine" Ash turns his hat backward but before he throws his Pokeball someone in Samurai armor jumps out in front of him and points his sword at his nose.
"HIYA" The Samurai yells
"AHHHHHHH!" Ash screams, Pikachu and Magickarp are shocked and don't notice the Weedle escaping
"Are you a trainer from the town of Pallet" The boy in Samurai armor asks
"Yes" Ash says nervously
"Ah I've finally found you" The boy pulls his sword away from Ash's face and places it back in its sheath
"My name is Samurai, and I would like to request a battle with you" Samurai says
"A battle?" Ash blinks a couple times before smirking "You're on!" Ash said raising his fist up Pikachu and Magickarp get an excited look as well all three don't notice the Weedle escaping.
"ASH!" Misty shouts and reaches the trainer clearly out of breath but quickly composes herself.
"Ash, we need to get out of here there's some weird kid dressed in Samurai armor carrying around a sword" Misty says she looks at Ash who's looking at her she then faces forward and gets a worried look on her face.
"AHHHHH! he's here!" Misty says and hides behind Ash
"Ah you're the girl I met earlier I'm sorry for scaring you my name is Samurai" Samurai bows
"Yeah, Misty it's fine besides I'm not leaving since he challenged me to a battle" Ash says
"A battle?" Misty blinks and looks at Samurai "If that's true then you don't need to dress up in armor and scare every person you see" Misty says with a sterned expression and places her hands on her hips. Samurai bows apologetically again.
"Why are you looking to battle trainers from Pallet town anyway?" Ash asks
"Well, you see" Samurai explains that he battled 3 beginning trainers from Pallet town already and they all defeated him easily he was especially impressed with the girl who had Bulbasuar the Pokemon knocked out his two strongest pokemon in just two moves and she was cute (Samurai thinks to himself on that last comment)
"Whoa I expected that Damien kid and Gary to be great at battles but not Leaf if I ever have to battle her, I'll need to be really careful" Ash says to himself
"There was also a kid with purple hair and angry eyes that caught a powerful Beedrill, Pinsir and Nidorino using Pokemon not native to the Kanto region I was going to ask him for a battle, but something told me to not bother him" Samurai says
"I see it must be that must be the trainer I saw at the Viridian Pokemon Center guess I'll have to watch for him to" Ash says
"We'll how about it you ready to battle it'll b Pokemon battle with no substitutions" Samurai says with an excited look
"Yeah, let's do it this'll be good training before my battle at the Pewter gym" Ash says with an excited look as well
"Guess I'll be the Referee" Misty gives a sign Ash and Samurai take go to their sides of the battlefield Misty stands between them.
"If both trainers are ready, you may now send out your first Pokemon" Misty says as both Ash and Samurai send out their first Pokemon
"Magickarp I choose you" Ash yells as the fish Pokemon jumps up and down ready to battle
"Go Scyther!" Samurai yells the giant mantis looking Pokemon comes out crying its name and sharping its scythes.
"A Scyhter? Cool" Ash says with grin and looks a Magickarp "Be careful of those Scythes Magickarp" Ash warns as Magickarp jumps in acknowledgement.
"If both trainers are ready, you may now begin" Misty raises both her arms, and the trainers begin their battle
"Get in close and use quick attack Scyther" Samurai commands as the mantis Pokemon quickly hits Magickarp knocking it in the air.
"Whoa that's fast" Ash says with a shocked face but quickly gets over it and tells Magickarp his next move.
"Magickarp use that momentum and come straight down for a Tackle on Scythers head!" Ash yells as Magickarp quickly opens its eyes and fly's straight down at blinding speed hitting Scythers head and knocking it on the ground, Magickarp leaps off Scyther and waits for Ash's next command. Scyther struggles to get up, but it and Samurai weren't expecting Magickarp to be this strong Samurai smirks.
"Alright then Scyther raise your attack and use Sword's dance" Samurai commands, Scyther gives a mighty cry as three swords dance around it raising its attack.
"This is bad" Ash thinks to himself I need to end this fast "Magickarp use Tackle" Ash yells
"KARP" Magickarp yells and quickly shoots forward as fast as it can
"Use Quick Attack Scyther!" Samurai yells as Scyther quickly dashes forth both Pokemon collide, Magickarp tries it's best to push forward but since Scyther increased its attack Scyther wins the exchange and pushes Magickarp into a tree.
"Magickarp!" Ash screams in worry, Scyther backs away, and we see Magickarp on the ground heavily damaged but is still ready to battle and Ash smiles. Samurai, Scyther and even Misty are shocked at just how tough Magickarp is, Samurai shakes his head and yells out his next attack.
"Use X Scissor!" Samurai yells Scyther quickly dashes forming its Scythes in a X shape.
"Dodge and use Flail!" Ash screams Magickarp manages to dodge and lands a powerful Flail on Scythers abdomen, Scyther feels as though the wind was knocked out it stumbles back a little but like Magickarp it won't give up.
"Scyther get in close with Quick attack! And give that fish your most powerful Slash!" Samurai yells
"Magikarp dodge!" Ash yell's but Magickarp was knocked down to the ground creating a cloud of dust.
"Magickarp!" "PIKA!" Ash and Pikachu yell, Misty wants to yell as well but she must remain impartial
Samurai and Scyther give a sign of relief thinking the battle is over but then the see a blue glow in the smoke and hear a mighty.
"KARPPPPPPP!"
"Your kidding!" Samurai says as his and Scyther's mouths drop to the ground.
"Is Magickarp evolving?" Ash thinks and looks at his Pokedex scanning Magickarp and learns that the fish learned a new move.
"Bounce The user bounces up high, then drops on the target on the second turn. This may also leave the target with paralysis." The Pokedex says
"That's great Magickarp use Bounce!" Ash says
"KARPPP!" Magickarp screams and jumps high into the air and charges up its attack
"We're not losing Scyhter use Swords Dance then Quick Attack" Samurai yells Scyther gives a mighty roar increasing its attack and quickly goes after Magickarp. In that moment Magickarp finished charging and headed straight down at the incoming Scyther.
"SCYTHER USE SLASH!" Samurai screams from the top of his lungs
"MAGICKARP DODGE AND LAND YOUR ATTACK!" Ash also screams from the top of his lungs
Magickarp and Scyther roar at each other
'KARP!'
"SCY!"
"Scyther goes to land the slash but Magickarp dodges at last second hitting Scyther in the abdomen again and the two Pokemon come crashing down at breakneck speed creating a crater in the battlefield and making a large smokescreen
Misty runs forward to see who came out the victor it's difficult to see because of the smoke but as the smoke clears, she gives a small smile, so Samurai and Ash don't see she raises her left hand.
"Scyther is unable to battle Magickarp wins the victor is Ash from Pallet Town" Misty says
"Yeah!" "Pika!" Ash and Pikachu scream happily and Magickarp is splashing up and down as well happily it won the battle, Ash and Pikachu run down to the fish Pokemon a give it a big hug.
"Great job Magickarp!" Ash says
"Karp!" The fish replies happily
Samurai who is shocked gives a smile and returns his Scyther. "You did well my friend" Samurai says
Ash also returns Magickarp as he a Pikachu head back to their side of the battlefield
"My Magickarp's pretty strong huh!" Ash says with a smile
"It is indeed Ash I've never seen a Magickarp as tough as yours" Samurai says "Me neither" Misty thinks to herself
"Well, the battles not done yet I'm winning this go Pigeotto!" Ash throws the ball containing the bird Pokemon Pidgeotto gives a mighty "PIJO!" and lands on the battlefield
"Okay then go Pinsir!" Samurai yells and out comes a big brown Pokemon with giant Pincers coming out of its head, Misty shakes in fear a little bit but calls for the match to begin.
"Pidgeotto use Wing Attack!" Ash commands as the bird Pokemon charges forward
"Catch it!" Samurai yells, Pinsir holds out it's hand and grabs Pigeotto's face, Ash is surprised and tells Pigeotto to get out of Pinsir's grip, but the bird is unable to
"Use Vicegrip!' Samurai commands Pinsir puts Pigeotto between its Pincers and starts squeezing the bird Pokemon Pigeotto cries out in pain as Ash is trying his best to think of a way to get Pigeotto free.
"Don't worry Ash I'll sent your bird free" Samurai says with a smile and commands his next attack "Pinsir let go of Pigeotto and use rockslide!" Pinsir flings Pigeotto up in the air and summons multiple rocks that fly straight at Pigeotto knocking it down to the ground.
"PIDGEOTTO!" Ash yells with a worried expression, the super effective attack stops creating a dust cloud as it clears it shows Pidgeotto on the ground defeated.
"Pidgeotto's unable to battle Pinsirs the winner" Misty says
Ash returns Pigeotto and tells it that he's sorry and that he won't let something like that happen again, he then brings out his final Pokeball
"Metapod I choose you" Metapod appears and is ready to battle
"Pinsir vs Metapod battle begin!" Misty yells as Samurai makes the first move
"Use Vicegrip Pinsir!" Samurai commands as the giant bug picks up Metapod and is about use its move.
"Use Harden!" Ash yells as Metpod increases its defenses Pinsir squeezes as hard it can, but it can't get past Metpods defenses Pinsir squeezes so hard that's its Pincer's break dropping Metpod on the ground and fainting.
"Pinsir's unable to battle Metapod wins!" Misty says
"Good job Metapod!" Ash says, Metpod closes its eyes happily
Samurai returns Pinsir and sends out his last Pokemon, "Go Metapod!" he yells, the other Metapod appears ready to battle as well.
"Metapod vs Metapod battle begin!" Misty says
"Use Harden Metapod" Samurai says
"Well use Harden too" Ash says as both Pokemon harden their bodies this exchange goes on for 10 minutes until both trainers and Pokemon fall over, Misty and Pikachu had enough and were sunbathing away from the battlefield.
At that moment the group hears multiple buzzing sounds heading in their direction, Samurai immediately stands up returns his Metapod and starts running.
"Hey, our battle isn't done yet!" Ash says
"The battle is cancelled If you want to live return your Pokemon and follow me" Samurai says as he continues to run
Ash was about to say something but then notices a bunch of Beedrill come out of the forest, he, Misty, Pikachu and Metapod all have a scared look, Misty immediately starts running in Samurais direction, Pikachu starts to fire multiple Thunderbolts to try and knockout as many Beedrill, Ash was just about to return Metapod but a random Beedrill picks up the Pokemon instead.
"METAPOD!" Ash says with a horrified look Ash is about to give until Misty grabs him by his arm and starts pulling him in the direction Samurai went, Pikachu stops his attack and quickly follows the two trainers. All three run as fast as they can until they see a cabin.
"Quickly in here!" Samurai says, Ash, Misty and Pikachu make it inside Samurai closes the door and the group sees several stingers stab threw the door it continues for a few more moments until it eventually stops, everyone gives a sign a relief until Ash says.
"I'm going back out there" Everyone looks at him
"Are you crazy!" Misty says
"Pika" Pikachu says in disapproval
"That's a terrible idea" Samurai says
"But I have to they have Metapod" Ash says with a worried expression
"Still how do you expect to fight all those Beedrills? If they spot you, they'll make sure there's nothing left of you" Samurai says with a serious tone
"I DON'T CARE!" Ash yells as everyone in the room goes silent
"They have not only my Pokemon but my friend out there who can't even defend himself I made a promise to Metapod when it was a Caterpie that I was going to protect it if I can't do that then what kind of trainer am I!" Ash says as tears start to form his eye's
"Ash" Misty says with a sad look "Pika" says with its ears down, Samurai still has a serious expression gives a sign.
"Fine I'll help" Samurai says as everyone looks at him "if I was in your position, I would do the same thing" Samurai walks up to Ash and puts a hand on his shoulder "but if we're going to do this you have to listen to me a be very careful" Samurai and everyone gets a serious expression
5 minutes go by and the group under Samurai's Beedrill protection net made it to where the Beedrill nest is not only are there Beedrill there's also Weedle and Kakuna resting on the tree.
"I guess the Beedrill thought Metapod as one of their own that why probably they took it" Samurai says, Misty notices something and whispers to Ash.
"Ash look its Metapod" Misty says, Ash quickly looks in the direction Misty pointed and gets a relief expression on his face
"So how do we get Metapod out of there?" Ash ask Samurai
Samurai takes out one of his Pokeballs and brings out an Oddish
"Odd" the Pokemon says looking at Samurai "Use Sweet Scent to draw the Beedrill and Weedle away" Samurai says to Oddish in a whisper, Oddish nods and starts using the move the Weedle and love the smell and go in its direction, "Good job Oddish" Samurai says and returns the Plant Pokemon, with the Beedrill and Weedle gone Ash and the others make it to where Metapod is Ash bends down and picks up the Pokemon.
"Metapod I'm sorry you were taken away by the Beedrill" Ash says but Metapod gives no response Ash puts his head down thinking Metapod is angry at him.
"Ash hurry return Metapod to its Pokeball" Misty says, Ash nods but before he could everyone hears cracking sounds, they all look at the Kakuna and get worried looks on their faces. The Kakuna shells crack and what come out are a horde of angry Beedrills.
"AHHHHHH!" They all scream with Misty screaming the loudest, the Beedrill instantly charge they fly pass Samurai, Misty and Pikachu since they're under the net and head straight for Ash and Metapod.
"ASH!" "PIKA PI!' Misty, Samurai and Pikachu scream in horror
Ash closes his eyes for the incoming attack but something unexpected happens Metapod jumps right in front of the beedrill and glows a bright light blinding everyone Metapod shell cracks open and what comes out is a beautiful Butterfree.
"Free!" Butturfree says Ash, Misty, Pikachu and Samurai look on in amazement while the Beedrill are surprised, Butterfee then uses sleep powder and puts all the Beedrill to sleep, Ash runs up to Butterfree and gives it a big hug.
"Thank you Butterfree" Ash says happily
"Free!" Butterfree nods, Misty and Samurai smile while Pikachu points its 2 fingers in the air making a peace sign
Its now the next day Samurai had Ash and Misty spent the night in his cabin and took them to the edge of Viridian Forest where they'll reach Pewter City so Ash can get his first badge.
"Thank you, Samurai we couldn't have gotten, out that forest without you" Ash says as he and Samurai shake hands
"You're welcome" Samurai responds
"Now don't go jumping out bushes and scaring people" Misty says sternly in a joking tone
"Hehehe I'll try" Samurai laughs and rubs the back of his neck
"So, what are you going to do now?" Ash asks
"I'm going to continue my training here and then head down to Fuschia City to become master Koga's apprentice so we might see each other again" Samurai says
"Sounds great if we see each other again let's have a battle I'll be sure to win" Ash says with a smile
"Heh we'll see oh one more thing I forgot to give you something" Samurai says as he reaches in his pocket and pulls out a letter and hands it to Ash. Ash opens the letter and gets a big smile on his face.
"Its from Leaf!" Ash says in excitement
"That's your childhood friend from Pallet town, right?" Misty questions
"Yeah, she's more than a childhood friend she's like my twin sister" Ash says with a grin
"After our battle lady Leaf handed me that letter stating she'll be waiting for you at Pewter City" Samurai says
Ash starts reading the letter what Samurai said is true Leaf will be waiting for Ash in Pewter City to watch his gym battle, visit the Pewter City Museum and catch up, she'll be waiting at the Pewter City Pokemon Center.
"Man, I'm so excited to see Leaf again what about you Pikachu?" Ash looks down at the little mouse
"Pika" Pikachu says happily as it vaguely remembers a girl named Leaf at Oaks lab.
With that Samurai heads back into Viridian Forest while Ash, Pikachu and Misty head to Pewter City. Ash looks on ahead looking forward to not only seeing his friend Leaf again but also finally getting his first gym badge.
That's chapter 2 we covered a lot in this chapter, at first, I thought this chapter would be a similar length as chapter 1 but as I kept writing more ideas came to my mind and I couldn't stop lol. As for the Rainbow Wing I'm probably not going to bring it up again until I do Johto but who knows I might change my mind, anyway, give me your thoughts on this chapter and thank you reading.
