Episode 4

"Frozen"

SCENE 1: DECKER'S BEDROOM. NIGHT

Decker and Jack are lying down in the bed making out. Decker's hands are slowly moving towards Jack's waist. Jack moves Decker's hand and smiles as he breaks away. Jack rises up with Decker following.

Decker: What's wrong?

Jack (uncertainly): Nothing…I just never you know…done this.

Decker leans in and begins kissing him. Decker gently pushes Jack back down on the bed. Jack watches as Decker pulls his shirt over his head and throws it to the floor. Jack is stunned not knowing if he was ready to take their relationship to the next level.

Decker gets on top of Jack and continues to kiss him. The two of their bodies pressed against each other. Decker starts to give Jack quick pecks on the lips as he uses his hand to try to unfasten Jack's belt.

The two stops when they hear footsteps coming from downstairs. Decker quickly jumps up frightened. Jack stands as Decker scurries to put his clothes back on.

Decker (fast): That must be my Dad back from work. If he catches us then he is going to flip out.

Jack: I thought you told your parents about us being together.

Decker: My parents are not an understanding and open like Spinner and Emma. If my Dad found out, I have a boyfriend he would kick me out of the house.

Jack grabs his book bag and storms out of the room.

OPENING CREDITS

SCENE 2: DEGRASSI (FRONT STEPS). MORNING

A black red tesla pulls in front of Degrassi. Students are watching in awe. Nolan and Jordan step out of the car. Jordan looks around at all the attention that the two of them were receiving from the surrounding students. Nolan closes his door and approaches Jordan with a smile on his face.

Jack appears in the distance to see how flirtatious Nolan is acting towards Jordan. Ivy approaches from the other direction to observe Jack watching.

Jordan: I better get inside. I have never seen so many people just staring.

Nolan: Not to sound cocky, but you are in the presence of a celebrity.

Jordan and Nolan laugh. Nolan smiles and walks back over to the driver side.

Nolan: It's been fun hanging out with you these last few days.

Nolan enters his car and quickly drives off. Jordan walks over to Ivy and the two proceeds to enter the school.

SCENE 3: DEGRASSI (HALLWAYS). MORNING

Jordan and Ivy are walking down the hall.

Ivy: Seem like you and Nolan are getting close.

Jordan (embarrassed): What?…we're just friends. Nolan is a huge social media celebrity. He's not interested in me.

Ivy: I think you should go for it.

As they walk down the hall Ivy glances over to Red who is standing at his locker.

Jordan (teasingly): If I have to go for it then so do you with him.

Red turns around to notice Ivy. He waves at her with a smile. She tries to hide her blushing face but returns the wave. She looks at Jordan who is teasing her. She gives him a playful nudge.

SCENE 4: DEGRASSI (GYMNASIUM). AFTERNOON

Brandon is in the gymnasium running basketball drills in front of his father, coach, and a college scout. The scout leans over and whispers something into the coach's ear. The coach blows his whistle, which gets the attention of Brandon.

The scout shakes the hand of the coach and Brandon's father and makes his departure. Mr. Jones throws Brandon a towel and Brandon begins to wipe the sweat from his body.

Brandon: What did the scout say?

Coach Dillon: He was very pleased with what he saw. He wants you to come to play a practice game with the team before he makes any final decisions.

A smile comes across Brandon's face. He looks over to his father who looks very pleased with Brandon.

Mr. Jones: Good job B. I should get back to work, but I'll see you after school.

Coach Dillon: I will walk you out.

Coach Dillon and Mr. Jones proceed to walk out of the gym. Brandon has a look of fulfillment as he grabs the basketball and begins to dribble it. He aims and shoots the ball into the hoop. He proceeds to sprint out of the gym in happiness.

SCENE 5: THE DOT. AFTERNOON

Jordan grabs his coffee from the barista. As he turns around, he is surprised by Nolan, which causes him to spill some of his drink.

Nolan (chuckling): I didn't mean to scare you.

Jordan smiles as he uses some napkins to wipe the coffee from his clothes. The two of them begins to walk towards an empty table.

Jordan: What are you doing here?

Nolan: I got a message from one of your friends. She said you were going to be here and that I should surprise you.

Jordan: I am going to kill Ivy, but I am glad to see you again.

Nolan: We should go out.

Jordan: Out? Like a date?

Nolan: It can be if you want it to be.

Jordan begins to smile. Nolan takes Jordan's hand.

SCENE 6: MASON'S HOUSE (JACK'S ROOM). LATE EVENING

Jack and Decker are sitting on the bed playing video games. Decker continues to glance at Jack who full attention is with the game. Decker places his hand on Jack's chin and turns his head facing him. He leans in and begins to kiss Jack. The two slowly fall backward. Jack smiles and pushes Decker off him.

Jack: Emma and Spinner are probably going to be home soon.

Jack sits back up and continues to play the game. Decker lays there in frustration. Jack glances over to see Decker upset. Decker sits himself up and looks at Jack who is avoiding eye contact. Jack places his controller on the bed and turns to face Decker.

Decker: I should head home.

Jack: Deck—

Before Jack could get his sentence out Decker was out of the room.

SCENE 7: UNIVERSITY BASKETBALL COURT. AFTERNOON

Brandon is playing a practice game. Each team had three players on them. One of the players passes the ball to Brandon. Brandon quickly drives the ball to the basket and takes the shot. When the ball bounced off the rim, a player from the other team catches the rebound and begins to dribble in the opposite direction.

Brandon looks over at the bench to see his father looking at him. The pressure of making the team and getting the scholarship was getting to him. The ball is passed back to Brandon. He takes a deep breath as he looks at his father.

Mr. Jones: Get your head in the game B.

Brandon takes off down the court and scores a layup. The teams go back and forth and point to point. Brandon looks at the time to see that time is quickly winding down. He dribbles the ball as he assesses the court and his teammates. Brandon needed to do something that would grantee his spot. He looks over to his father wanting him to be proud.

Brandon drives through the defense, goes for a layup, and dunks the ball. He makes the winning basket. He looks over to see his father standing and cheering for him as he hangs on the rim. He jumps down but lands wrong breaking his leg. He lays on the floor in agonizing pain as he holds on to his leg.

Mr. Jones quickly runs to his join. Brandon is crying unable to move his leg. The coach and other members of the team surround him. At that moment, Brandon knew that his dream might be over.

Mr. Jones: It's going to be okay B.

SCENE 8: DEGRASSI (GYMNASIUM). LATE EVENING

Ivy is seen walking around as other students work on decorations and props for the show. She approaches Maxwell who is attentively working on his computer.

Ivy (delighted): These are amazing.

Maxwell: Yeah, I thought it would be cool to have a visual background.

Ivy: Keep up the good work. This show is going to be amazing.

Maxwell nods his head and continues to work. Ivy notices Red working by himself. She proceeds to approach him nervously.

Ivy (timidly): Have I thanked you for helping out with the set?

Red: I'm just doing my part as a Panther. Plus, you were persistent.

Red looks at his watch to see the time. He puts his paintbrush down and grabs his book bag.

Ivy: Are you leaving?

Red: Yeah. It's time for me to get home.

Ivy: How about we go out sometime?

Red: I can't…sorry.

Red slowly walks away. Ivy is disappointed.

SCENE 9: MASON'S HOUSE (LIVING ROOM). NIGHT

Jack makes his way into the living room where Emma sitting on the couch. She looks over to see Jack and pats on the couch to signal him to have a seat. Jack slowly moves over and takes a seat next to his sister. Emma moves closer to him and places her arms around him.

Emma (concerned): What's on your mind?

Jack: How do I know if I'm ready to have sex? I think Decker wants to do it, but I don't know if I'm ready.

Emma: Well deciding to have sex is a big decision Jack, but the decision is ultimately up to you…not Decker, but honesty is important. You should be able to have a conversation and express your feelings.

Jack: I've told him, but I don't want to ruin what we have.

Emma: Sex before your ready can be stressful and sex should be about connecting with the person you love. Just because you don't want to have sex now doesn't mean that it will always be that way.

Emma rises from the couch and begins to walk out of the living room.

Jack: Thanks Em.

Emma smiles and proceeds to exit out of the room. Jack continues to sit on the couch thinking about his conversation with Emma.

SCENE 10: DEGRASSI (STREET). MORNING

Jordan and Nolan are walking up the street until the approach Degrassi. Jordan turns to look at Nolan who has a smile on his face.

Jordan: You always have a smile on your face.

Nolan: That's what happens when I'm with you. You make me feel like I'm normal.

Jordan: Because you are normal.

Nolan steps closer to Jordan grabbing his hand. He gazes into Jordan's eyes and leans closer pressing his lips against his. The two begin to kiss slowly and softly. Jordan steps back with a smile.

Jordan: I should probably head inside.

Nolan smiles as Jordan walks away glancing over his shoulder to see Nolan waving.

SCENE 11: DEGRASSI (HALLWAYS). MORNING

Decker is standing at his locker. He pulls out a flask and looks around the surrounding areas before taking a drink from it. He notices Jack approaching and quickly places it in his locker and closes the door shut.

Decker: Hey.

Jack: Hey. Can we talk for a second?

The two proceeds to take a seat on the bench.

Jack: I'm not ready to have sex right now, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to want to in the future. I don't want to rush it and it'll be a mistake.

Decker: I'm sorry if it felt like I was pressuring you. I just never felt this way about anyone.

Jack smiles and leans in to kiss Decker.

SCENE 12: DEGRASSI (HALLWAYS). MORNING

Brandon enters Degrassi on crutches with a leg cast. Levi approaches him with a solemn look on her face.

Levi: I heard about what happened. How are you doing?

Brandon: The doctor said I should try to stay off it if I want to play basketball again, but he said I should be able to play once it's completely healed.

Levi: I'm glad that you're not too hurt.

Levi places her hand on his shoulder as she walks off. Brandon proceeds to move towards his locker. He notices that Coach Dillon is headed his way.

Brandon: Hey Coach. The doctor said in a month or two I should be good to play ball again.

Coach Dillon: I'm glad to hear that Brandon, but they decided to give the scholarship to someone else.

Brandon (upset): I needed this scholarship Coach. My dad played on that team.

Coach Dillon: I know and I'm sorry. Just use this time to get better and try out for the team next year once you graduate.

Coach walks away leaving Brandon disappointed. Brandon turns around facing his locker. He slams the door in frustration.
