Gunfire rang out through the highway.
Deimos Dodged a few bullets by ducking back into the van's window. The Technophile groaned. "How long till we lose 'em, San?!"
Sanford shrugged, not taking his eyes off the road. "Not for a few miles, Dei."
Deimos just groaned and popped his head out the window and fired a few shots from his Deagle. Then pulled back into the window to get some cover and reload.
One bullet hit the passenger side window. Making Deimos flinch. "San, side mirrors broke." Sanford sighed, before doing a tight turn. "Least of my concerns, Deimos!" Deimos Fired a few more shots. At the following Nexus core and AAHW trucks. "When will we get to the drop-off point?"
Sanford grunted, passing cars to gain more distance. "Don't know, chucklehead." Tires screeched as Sanford made another tight turn, bumping a car or two off the road, Luckly, they were in an area with flat terrain, a few hills, but still. They would be fine. Soon, the drove onto the cliffside, Agency still on their ass.
Deimos Continued to fire back at the vans, before the Degale ran out of rounds, and he was out of magazines. He growled and threw the gun at one of the windshields, cracking it. Deimos retreated back into the van and buckled his seatbelt back on. "I'm out of weapons, we just need to get the hell outta here, Fella." Sanford rolled his 'eyes' "thanks for the advice, Deimos." Deimos pulled a Cigarette from a pack. Before putting it in his mouth. "Of course!" he said before putting the pack back into his overcoats pocket and liting the cig with a snap of his thumb. He held his other hand above the flame to keep it from going out due to the window still being open. Once the cig lit, he shook his thumb, extinguishing the flame, he then sat back and relaxed
Sanford pulled a walkie talkie from the clip on the ceiling of the van. "Hey, this is Sanford, we've retrieved the package and are making out way to site 32-T. See you there, doc.'' Sanford put the Walkie talkie back on the clip on the ceiling and putting his hand back on the wheel.
Suddenly. A figure stood on the road in front of the van. Sanford swore, and out of reflex tried to swerve around it, Deimos held onto his Visor as the van swerved. "Whoa! SAN! WATCH OUT-"
CRASH!
The van had fallen off the cliffside, and they were plummeting down to the ground. Deimos screamed and his Cig fell out of his mouth and Sanford gritted his teeth. This was it. The end, no more Deimos and Sanford… well it would be… but then this story would be over, and way too short.
It was quiet in patch. But it was boring. Yang sat on a couch and channel surfed. Everything on was talking about beacon. She was, frankly, quite tired of it. She wanted to forget what happened, yet she would never, Adam made sure of it. She sighed and was about to change the channel again, but something happened.
A loud crash was heard outside of the house, and the Xiao-long home shook, Yang shot up and looked around. "DAD!?" her father came running down the stairs in a panic. "What was that?" he asked her. "I- i don't know?!" She turned to the door. "Should- should we go see what it was?" she asked her father, he nodded. "I guess…"
The father-daughter duo opened the door. smoke was coming from the nearby forest. Yang and Tai carefully walked over to where the smoke was coming from, pushing branches from their way. And what they had shocked them
A gray van had crashed into a tree. With the front busted up, but inside, were two men. Airbags held one man's head in a black headwrap. And then another man's head who had a cap-like visor with headphones was hanging from the window, they both had gray skins. Yang held her hand to her mouth. "Oh my god…" she muttered. Tai didn't waste time and started to pull the passenger door open. the man with the visor fell down and groaned. Tai sighed in relief, at least one of them was alive. He shook his head and got to the driver's side. He tried the door, It was stuck, so he grabbed the handle, and pulled. Soon the door came open, broken, but open. He grabbed the shirtless man and lifted. He sweat dropped. The man was very heavy.
Yang stood off to the side. She tried calming herself down with deep breaths. Then Her Father came from the other side of the van. "They're Both alive, but we should get them inside." Yang raised an eyebrow. "I-inside?" she stuttered; Tai nodded. "Yeah, we take them back to the house, and when they wake up, they can tell us what happened to them." Yang thought for a minute, before nodding. "O-okay, dad. How should we get them inside?" Tai looked at the other man with the visor. "This guy's heavy, I'll carry him in, think you can help take in the other one?" Yang shrugged. "I can try..?" She was unsure of herself, only having on arm would make it difficult. She grabbed the smaller Gray man's hand and pulled. She hummed. The man was light. so, with some struggle, she managed to get him over her shoulder. His breath smelled like tobacco. Yang cringed at the smell.
Soon enough, Tai and Yang had gotten them inside, Yang set Man two down on the couch, and Taiyang sat the shirtless one down on the other couch. He then set blankets on both of them.
Yang sighed and sat down on the stairs. Taiyang soon joined her with two bottled waters. He handed one to yang. "Thirsty?" Yang took it and nodded. "Yeah, thanks dad.." she unscrewed the cap with her teeth, the cap came off and fell to the floor, not that it mattered to yang as she gulped down the water in a few seconds. Before setting the empty bottle down.
Taiyang looked out the window. Yang looked at him. "So uh… what will we do with those two men?" she asked. Taiyang sighed. "I.. don't know kiddo, but it's getting late, why don't I cook us some dinner? Yang nodded. "Can we have some pasta?" Taiyang smiled tiredly at yang. "Sure thing, my sunny dragon." Yang playfully punched her father. "Dad!" Taiyang stood, laughing. "Okay okay! I'll go start on the pasta!" Yang smiled as her father walked to the kitchen. Yang then stood and walked to the living room. She stood and looked at the two sleeping men. She sighed. "Just who are you two…" she asked them, knowing she wouldn't get a response.
"Mmm fuck off doc… go fuck hank or something…" Yang jumped back as the smaller of the two men turned in his sleep. His voice sounded raspy and quiet, likely the tobacco he was smoking, if she had to guess. Yang stepped back and watched the man for what seemed to be a moment, before sneaking off to see her dad. Taiyang was humming a little toon as he stirred the noodles. Bouncing from side to side. looks like she was looking at the men longer than she thought. Yang smirked as she cleared her throat. Tai looked back at her and smiled. "Dinners almost done." Yang nodded. She then walked over and opened a cabinet, grabbing a plate, she set it on the counter, she then tried grabbed a glass. But it slipped from her hand and went to the floor.
CRASH
Yang stumbled back as memories of Adam filled her vision. Tai turned and rushed over. "Yang are you okay!?" she opened her mouth, but before she could answer. A familiar figure entered view from the living room. The smaller man had woken up. And was in a crouch. He had a cross for a face, with a sharp tooth mouth that was in an open frown. It had its 'eyes' wide. And a gun was pointed at them. Soon the other man was behind him. A meat hook in his hand. "the fuck happened. Deimos?" the men took in their surroundings, the now named Deimos still had his gun aimed at them. "Fuck if i know, Sanford. Also, nice driving." Sanford glared at Deimos, who lowered his weapon and stood from his crouch. "Like you could do any better, chucklehead." Deimos waved him away. "Then i'd like to see you hack the Nexus core database then, fella." the two glared at each other before they remembered the other two nearby, turned to them. "We can continue this later demo. Cus i think we need answers…" Taiyang looked at the two. "So do we.." Sanford shrugged. "Sounds fair. First off, who are you two, and where in Nevada are we?" Taiyang looked confused at the word Nevada. "Well, I'm Taiyang Xiao-long, and this is my daughter, yang.'' Yang waved nervously. "And second.. I don't know where this, Nevada is, but you're not there. You're in patch right now."
Deimos raised a brow. "Patch, where on god's green earth is that?" Yang tilted her head to the side. "Earth? What's that?" Sanford and Deimos looked at her like she was the dumbest motherfucker ever. "uh, The planet, duh." Deimos drawled the duh, and pulled his pack of cigs and put one in his mouth. Sanford knocked it out of his mouth. "Hey!" the techie exclaimed. Sanford looked at his partner. "It's rude to smoke in someone's house without permission, Dei." Deimos rolled his eyes. "Sorry.." he said sarcastically
Taiyang sighed. About to explain when the timer went off from the stove. "Look, why don't we talk about this over dinner?" Deimos perked up. "Fresh food? Oh hell to the yeah!" Taiyang looked concerned but shrugged it off as he went to finish the pasta.
Yang just stood there. These men were strange and had vulgar mouths. But, at least they weren't hostile. Always find the silver lining, I guess. Deimos and Sanford looked at each other again. They might not know where they were, but food is food. And the people weren't AAHW or nexus core. So that was a good sign. Still, if they weren't in Nevada…
Then where were they?
Soon, they would get awnsers.
