Sharing weaponry
The Sword Brothers were at Alucard's home in Transylvania, helping him with a move, packing objects and some detachable furniture for easier boarding and transportation. The vampire was going to live in Japan, where he'd start working for a secret government agency, to keep an eye on whether his father didn't resurrect and Castlevania remained trapped in the eclipse. To get the job, adopted a new look and identity: his name was now Arikado, cut his hair and dyed it black. Peach helped him with the switch and wasted no time in sharing a photo of him in her Telegram group of friends (by friends, read: Daisy, Rosalina, Pauline, Zelda, Linkle, Aryl, Alia, Layer, Palette, Cinnamon, Gwen, Crimson and Dawn), who highly praised the new look.
—Ready. All put away—spoke the dhampir.
—Now we have to wait for the truck to arrive and load the stuff in the trunk—said the wind hero Link.
—Then we'll go to the airport to catch the plane and help you clean up the new house—finished the queen.
Arikado would like to thank his brothers and, after some thinking, had an idea: went to the weapons warehouse, where there were many swords, shields, staffs, clubs and others that acquired in his adventures, but didn't use even half of that arsenal. Preferred the sword that had inherited from his mother, his homonym shield, the Crissaegrim and the two pistols that had won from the monarch. "Yeah, why not?", wondered.
—Could you come here, please?—asked to the others. They entered the room and the vampire said:
—Help yourselves.
The Links, Peach and Zero's eyes widened and the hero of time asked, incredulously:
—What?! Really? Can we keep anyone?
—Yes, you can. I don't use 'em all.
Smiling with satisfaction, the heroes, the regent and the reploid approached the weapons and examined them. After a few minutes, they took a few and Arikado commented, to the champion of Hyrule Link:
—Thunderbrand and Iron Shield. The shield suits you—Link nodded. —A rapier, Medusa Shield and Muramasa—said to the hero of time Link.
—I have little practice with piercing swords, so I took it for training—told the hylian. —The Muramasa I chose—completed Fierce, emerging.
—Understandable.
—This shield doesn't turn anyone to stone, does it?
—No, but scares at first. That way, takes the opponent by surprise and gives time for an attack or counterattack.
—Exactly what I thought. Since I don't use shields as often as I used to, I'll take it.
Arikado nodded, turned to the wind hero Link and continued:
—Vorpal Blade, Wind.
—I've a preference for gladius and short swords—revealed. —They're fast in combat and easy to carry.
—Then you'll love this one—guaranteed the vampire. Addressed to Peach and proceeded:
—Marsil, Obsidian Sword and Dark Shield, good! Did you choose the last two, Queen?
—Yes—replied the witch, appearing above the hostess.
—Yeah, they look good on you... on you too, bro—added to Zero, seeing the Masamune in one of his hands. —Excellent!—finalized the dhampir, seeing the brothers with new weapons. —Hope you like 'em.
Arikado received the thanks of his friends and proposed that they test them, but then the moving truck arrived. "Let's do this after we help our brother to clean up the house", suggested the queen. Everyone agreed and started loading the boxes in the trunk.
—I've a lot of weapons at home that I don't use either, so you can take some—offered Champion, as they worked.
—Me too—Zero added.
—Yay!—celebrated Peach.
—So here's what we'll do—Time started—: we'll help Arikado with the move, then we'll go to the Champion and Zero's house to choose the weapons and test them. How's that?
—Deal!—agreed the other two heroes, the regent and the vampire, in unison. They finished loading the boxes on the truck and took a car to the airport. Boarded in Peach's private plane and flew to Japan.
Upon disembarking, took another car and drove to the dhampir's new house. Once inside, they walked around the place, looked at the compartments and praised their brother for the domicile. Arikado led his friends to one of the enclosures and told them that would be their dormitory, if they wanted or needed to sleep. Since they met, the homes of each had a room where guests could rest.
The day after the move, there was the sextet gathered in the home of the champion Link, in Hyrule, drinking coffee and chatting. Later, the owner of the house opened two chests full of swords, shields, spears, clubs and other weapons and equipment and the brothers began to choose. Just as the vampire did, made comments about the weaponry they opted for.
—Knight's Broadsword, Traveler's Spear and Double Axe, Time.
—Traveler's Spear? I liked the name.
—Are you sure you can carry all this?
—I'll practice for.
—Very well—approved the Hyrule champion. Looked to the weapons that the wind hero Link chose and said:
—Feathered Edge, Knight's Claymore and Soldier's Shield. Are you going back to train with long swords, Wind?
—Yes, I liked this one, I'll use it from time to time. I already wielded the long swords that the Darknuts left. I was going to get the scimitar too, but I already have the one Tetra gave me.
—You can take it too, no problem—allowed Link. Turned to Peach and said:
—Royal Broadsword, Windcleaver and...whoa, whoa! Iron Sledgehammer?
—That's for Queen—answered the regent. —Is there a problem?—questioned the witch.
—No, none. Let's see…—continued, looking to Zero. —Great Frostblade and Ancient Shield. Sheikah technology. Don't you want to take the Guardian's Sword++ to make the pair?
—Can be.
Link took the blade and handed it to the hunter, who wielded both and positioned himself as if for combat.
—Perfect!—complimented the hylian. —Eightfold Blade, Halberd and Royal Shield—described, turning to Arikado.
—The spear reminded me of the one I made for the Lecarde family.
—Comprehensible. All right, if you're done, let's go to the Hunters' Base and see what Zero has for us—said the hero, slipping one of his arms over his friend's shoulders and started to leave. The others followed, thanking Link for the donated arsenal.
A few minutes of travel later, the group arrived at the base and the reploid led them to his private weapons compartment. The Links, Peach and Arikado examined the items and, some time later, chose.
—Durga Glaive, Champion, great choice—praised Zero, seeing the blue energy spear in his friend's hands.
—Rei Ichimonji, Time. You should use katanas more often—suggested the hunter.
—Yeah, I've been thinking about that too—said the hylian, looking at the sword, which emitted a dark blue flame. He sheathed it and Zero addressed to the wind hero:
—V Hanger. Good for fast combat, just the way you like it, and they still throw energy boomerangs... Rapier, Peach. Nice one! Reminded me of your fencing performance at the Olympic Games, t'was excellent!
—Thanks, bro! With you guys training me, I couldn't lose.
—True—Zero agreed. Turned to Arikado and spoke:
—Soul Saber, bro.
—Why does it have that name?
—Because the less energy you have, the stronger the sword becomes.
—I see.
—Let's take a picture with the weapons?—proposed Peach, grabbing out her cell phone. The others nodded positively, Zero called Layer to take the picture and they made the record. But they still needed to test the weaponry and the opportunity came when an alarm sounded, indicating that mavericks were causing trouble somewhere in Abel City. Promptly, the Sword Brothers left the base to, with renewed arsenal, destroy the enemies.
