Season Five

Episode 1

"Splish Splash"

Scene 1: The Dot. Afternoon

The Dot is filled with customers. Spinner is working the counter taking orders as more people enter the Dot. Jordan is scrambling around carrying a tray of drinks making his way through the aisle delivering the drinks.

Moment's later we see that the Dot has calmed down and is less crowded with customers. Alicia enters the Dot, with a new and more provocative look. She moves towards the counter where Jordan is cleaning.

Jordan: I'm off in 5 minutes. Maybe we can still go to the beach before it gets too late.

Alicia: I can't believe you decided to get a summer job too.

Jordan: You know university isn't going to pay for itself.

Alicia: I haven't seen any of my friends all summer. Do you know how boring that is?

Jordan: You always have Jack.

Jack pops up at the counter with a smile.

Jordan (whispering): Speak of the devil.

Jack (teasingly): I heard my name.

A silence falls over the three. Jack and Jordan have not discussed their kiss in weeks. Plus, Alicia and Jack haven't discussed their breakup since it happened.

Spinner: Hey kiddo.

Jordan: Hey Spin. Can I head out? I finished breaking down and cleaning.

Spinner: Yeah, go enjoy your last day of summer.

Alicia rises from the counter and proceeds to follow behind Jordan. Jack takes a deep breath as he watches his friends leaving out the Dot. He takes a seat.

Jack: They hate me! I lost both my best friends.

Spinner: They don't hate you. Just give them some time to figure things out and I'm sure things will go back to normal soon.

Jack: What if they don't Spin? I have another year at Degrassi. I don't think I can handle it without Alicia.

Spinner: You got this kid. Now let's get home before Emma kills us for being late.

Jack places a smile on his face, but knows his friendships will never be the same. Jack rises from his chair as Spinner comes from behind the counter. Spinner places his arm around Jack with a smile on his face.

OPENING CREDITS

Scene 2: FabDesigns Office Building. Afternoon

Ivy sprints down the hall carry a stack of papers with a coffee in her hand. She hands the coffee over to an executive type woman.

Ivy: Louie sent over the designs for the new fall collection. I also took the time to schedule your meetings for the rest of the week.

Maura: You are very through Ms. Armstrong. Keep this up and it might be a permanent position available for you after this internship.

Maura makes her exit. Ivy tries to hide her smile. As she turns around, she notices Francesca standing there with a scowl.

Francesca: Don't get your hopes up. You're just the intern! I've been here for almost a year, so if anyone is getting a permanent job it will be me.

Francesca struts away leaving Ivy with doubt.

Scene 3: Flour Garden Restaurant. Late Evening

Alicia enters the restaurant panting as if she had been running. She scans the room to see Sierra and Ned seated at a table. She makes her way towards them.

Alicia: I'm sorry. I was at the beach with Jordan and lost track of time.

Sierra: No problem sweetheart.

Ned: We are just glad that you were able to come.

Sierra: These last few weeks of getting to know you, Alicia has brought us so much joy.

Alicia: I like getting to know you too. I mean you are my parents too.

Sierra takes ahold of Alicia hands. Ned places his hands on Sierra's shoulder.

Alicia: Is everything okay?

Sierra: I don't really know how to say this to you. I've been trying to figure out exactly what to say.

Alicia: You can tell me.

Sierra: I have breast cancer.

The mood at the table becomes somber. Alicia tries to process the information that she just received.

Sierra: I've been in chemo for the last few months. The doctors say I'm getting better, but I needed to tell you.

Alicia: I'm happy that you doing better.

Ned: Alicia this cancer is an inherited gene.

Alicia (fearful): Are you saying that I could get cancer?

Alicia faces shift in fear.

Ned: It's a possibility but there is a test you can take in order to find out.

Alicia is at a lost for words.

Scene 4: The Dot. Morning

Jack is unlocking the door of the Dot. Jordan appears in this distance making his way from down the street towards the Dot. The two come face-to-face with each other.

Jack: Hey. Spinner asked me to help open up today. I hope that's not a problem.

Jordan nods. The boys enter the café. Jack is about to make his way to the counter, but Jordan stops him.

Jordan: Jack…I know we haven't talked a lot this summer.

Jack: Or at all.

Jordan: Right…but I hope I didn't ruin our friendship I just had a lapse of judgment and acted on impulse.

Jack: I just didn't…I still don't know what that kiss meant. Jordan, if we became more then friends I would lose you. I just can't let that happened.

Jordan: What if that doesn't happen?

Jack steps closer to Jordan.

Jack: Then I'm open to see where this goes.

A smile comes across Jordan face as Jack takes ahold of his hand.

Scene 5: Degrassi (Janitor's Closet). Morning

Lily is sprinting down the hall. She knocks on the janitor closet door. She makes sure the coast is clear before entering the closet. Xavier stands there with a smile.

Xavier: I've been waiting to do this all day.

Xavier wraps his arms around her waist as the two of them start to kiss. Xavier becomes excited as Lily pushes him off.

Lily: Summer is almost over, which means this is almost over. You know the rules.

Xavier: But summer is not over just yet.

Xavier leans in for another kiss, but Lily turns her head.

Xavier: Ugh, you are such a tease.

Lily: I know.

Lily kisses Xavier then quickly runs out of the closet.

Scene 6: Degrassi (Hall). Morning

Lily smiles as she enters back into the hall. Amina spots her turning around to make her way towards Lily.

Amina: I'm sure Degrassi doesn't have classes in the closet.

Lily looks over her shoulder hoping that Xavier doesn't step out of the closet.

Lily: How about you mind your business?

Amina: You're not even in summer school so why are you here?

Lily: I'm running for Student Council President. I just wanted to hang some posters around the school.

Amina: Sure. Last time I checked Alicia is president.

Amina shakes her head as she walks off. Xavier creeps out of the closet with a smile.

Scene 7: Scott's Home (Alicia Room). Afternoon

Mrs. Scott enters the room to see Alicia in deep thought on her bed.

Mrs. Scott: Are you okay? You seemed a little down since you came home yesterday.

Alicia: You have to promise not to be mad.

Mrs. Scott steps further into the room. Alicia rises up and braces herself.

Alicia: I've been spending time with Sierra and Ned this summer.

Mrs. Scott: We had an agreement Alicia. We allowed them to meet you, but you were not supposed to be apart of their lives. They gave that up the moment they gave you up.

Alicia becomes upset.

Alicia: They might have given me up, but you and Dad were the reason they stayed away.

Mrs. Scott: I am your mother! You do not take that tone with me.

Alicia: So is Sierra.

Alicia storms out of the room. Mrs. Scott remains on the bed in a state of confusion. She did not recognize her own daughter.

Scene 8: FabDesigns Office (Parking Lot). Night

Ivy makes her way out the building. She notices someone standing across the street waiting. She snickers as she sneaks up on the person.

Ivy: Whatcha doin'?

The person jumps in fear being spooked by Ivy. He turns around to reveal Dev. They both chuckle.

Dev: You cannot be doing that. I almost had a heart attack.

Ivy: What are you doing here?

Dev: I actually don't know I was out getting some air and ended up here.

Ivy: How about you walk me home since you're here.

Dev smiles as Ivy takes hold of his arm. They start to walk.

Scene 9: Mason's House (Porch). Night

The doorbell rings.

Jack: I'll get it.

Jack opens the door to see Alicia standing there with tears in hear eyes.

Jack: Alicia?

Alicia runs into Jack arms. Jack is surprised, but wraps his arms around her.
