The Magician's Volunteer

Chapter 3-The Universal Savior

January 1, 20XX

Science Fiction has been of my favorite genres of all time.

They often range from possible human civilization's progress to cosmic entities.

I had the special honor with a peculiar companion of to be with one of the most heroic cosmic entities that watch over the universe itself (our universe specially)

When we first meet, he called himself the Doctor.

Nothing more, no grandeur or anything.

He is an alien, proving the point that we are not so alone in the universe-however also insignificantly small.

He holds one of his civilization's most indept creations: a TARDIS.

Meaning Time And Space Dimensional In Space.

A Time Machine, and a Spaceship combined together.

The ultimate impossible box theory.

Throughout history from Earth's creation to present day then future beyond, the Doctor have watched us being constantly invaded by power-hungry aliens.

Usually due to his intelligence and wisdom he is able to defeat them. Alongside with a companion.

I was classfied as a companion to him, after accepting his offer to see beyond the universe after the previous adventure.

However, he already a female companion named Clara Oswald. A friendly British woman whose life was interwined with the Doctor for some reason, she explains to me.

While with Clara, she gave me a tour while the Doctor was outside of the TARDIS, busy saving another alien race or event against multiple foes.

She shown me all the previous companion rooms, a memorial to those who traveled with one of the universe's saviors.

My immediate favorites were the library, and food machine (after that mountainous adventure-I needed a common snack)

A room was already made for me.

Not by the Doctor, or Clara-but by the sentient emboidment of the TARDIS.

Clara explains the whole spaceship was a "she", and didn't do further than that.

Apparently she has mixed relations with the ship itself (but adding, Clara says, that's another story for another time)

The Doctor returned from his current adventure.

However, with a grim-dark expression (usually you can tell by his eyebrows) that the previous adventure he had, somewhat pushed the TARDIS into one of the most dreaded area of the universe: The Celestial Toymaker's Realm.

The luckiest thing is, the Doctor explains that current cosmic overlord has gone off busy.

So therefore, we are bit stuck until the TARDIS is able to detach herself from the "stickyness" of the infamous corner of the this place.

In the meantime, while the Doctor is fixing and checking his TARDIS, Clara and I reflect the moment we meet each other.

As an average American who was exploring a job choice, I was flown from California to Illinois to meet and join with others who are seeking the same thing: Service.

However, according to the job seeking council's medical screening-I was deemed not able to do anyway to my glasses' usage due to my eyes.

While with others who are ready go back home, our place was suddenly attacked by infiltrating aliens.

Our memories about this type of trope had us huddle together to fend off the threat until offical help arrived.

To our shock and horror-they caused damage to first responders and took possession of their bodies.

We barricaded ourselves with other survivors. The experienced ones were able to use deadly force-which somewhat didn't do much against these invasive aliens.

However, when hope was all lost-a female bystander told us to move to a certain area which was successfully defending itself from them.

Thats how I meet Clara. Soon the Doctor, who was some-sort of debate with higher-ups turned to a vicious arguement.

I was able to step in to stop the escalating fight, for some reason, the man with an angry set of eyebrows somewhat appealed to me to a calling of some sort.

While the group was with were able to get some help, I was with Clara-discussing how weird the day been.

A huge eruption caused one of the defenses to fall, a debris was about to hit Clara. Relying on my instincts-I pushed her out of the way.

I was almost knocked out however, the debris caused a huge collapse that trapped us, and Clara's guardian who went by a name John Smith.

Before I was familar on who he was, he was an inspector of sorts in his shown ID. (Psychic Paper)

In the darkness, he activated his source of light: a sonic screwdriver.

Thanks to it we were able to go to their transport which brought them here in the first place: a police box in the destroyed area.

I admit, I was skeptical at first of their intentions, but I was amazed to know that they are quite different from us in terms of normal lives.

The Doctor with Clara convinced me to stay where the six-sided console was while they stopped the present threat against us all.

When the day was done, they explained to me that a conspiracy was unraveled. The aliens used a trope of making a certain deal with the job offcials to harvest new bodies for them. All are quickly rounded up by my country's special forces, or have retreated.

They then gave me a choice-follow them on adventures like this, or go home and rest easy from this unusual adventure.

My adventure-seeking instinct kicked in, and I inquired if they would keep the promise to bring me back home.

They did.

So I followed them to the stars. (Journal End)

Oh...but I wrong I was for them to keep their promise asolved quickly...
