Scene 1: Degrassi (Gymnasium). Morning

Music is filling the gym as the Power Squad performs. Mia watches with a clipboard in hand, taking notes. Then, as the music begins to fade, the girls start their final formation.

Mia (unimpressed): Let's do it again! We need this to be perfect.

Isabella (gasping): Mom! I think…

Mia: It's Coach Jones while we're in practice. Thanks to that little outburst, everyone ten laps.

The Power Squad members begin to groan as they disperse into running laps around the gym. Isabella sighs as she looks at her mother, but Mia is unbothered. Mia gestures for Isabella to start running, which she begrudgingly does.

Mia: You may think this is hard, but you haven't seen anything yet. Pick up those legs up ladies.

OPENING CREDITS

Scene 2: Degrassi (Hallway). Morning

Manny appears at Isabella's side as they continue down the hall of students.

Manny: I tried calling you last night, but no answer.

Isabella: I'm sorry. My mother has been on the warpath. She's making us do morning and afternoon practice.

Manny: Sounds like you can do with a break. How about you and I spend the afternoon together.

Manny wraps his arms around Isabella as they stop in the middle of the hall. Manny gazes into Isabella's eyes, leaning in for a kiss.

Manny: We could picnic in the park or catch a movie.

Isabella: I have the best boyfriend.

They share another kiss ignoring everything around them. The two were entirely in the moment.

Scene 3: Degrassi (Classroom). Afternoon

Marcel enters the classroom and goes to the open desk next to Kenzie. K.C. walks into the room, looking for a seat. Kenzie gestures for K.C to come over. She leans over to Marcel.

Kenzie (whispering): Do you think you can let K.C have that seat?

Marcel was speechless. He slowly gathers his things.

Kenzie (whispering): You're a doll. Thanks, babes.

K.C reluctantly takes the seat. Marcel makes his way to the open seat next to Carina.

Marcel: Is it me, or is Kenzie starting to act differently?

Carina: You know how Kenzie can be. This is her first real relationship.

Carina and Marcel turn their attention to Kenzie, who is all over K.C.

Marcel: He's just using her, so he doesn't have to admit that he likes you.

Mrs. Morton appears behind the two of them.

Mrs. Morton: Is there something you would like to share with the class.

Marcel and Carina quietly open their books and begin their work. Mrs. Morton continues her lesson.

Carina (whispering): Nothing is going on with K.C. and me.

Carina turns her attention back to her book.

Scene 4: Williams' Household. Afternoon

Xavier enters his house with his headphones on. He places his keys onto the designated hook and proceeds to enter the living room. Xavier jumps onto the couch but pauses when he hears a faint noise through his headphones. He sits up and takes one headphone out of his ear, and begins to listen.

He hears the sounds of romantic music softly playing from the upstairs bedroom. He slowly makes his way up the to the staircase.

Xavier: Mom? Dad?

Xavier hears a thud as the music stops playing. He becomes suspicious and makes his way up the stairs.

Mr. Williams (faintly): Shush.

Unknown Woman (faintly): I need my shoes.

Xavier continues to make his way down the hall.

Xavier: Dad?

Mr. Williams: Give me one second, son.

Mr. Williams quickly exits the bedroom closing the door behind him. He was fidgeting and trying to hide something.

Xavier: Please don't tell me you and mom are having sex in the middle of the afternoon.

Mr. Williams (deflecting): What your mother and I do is none of your concern.

Xavier: I know, but you guys are…well you know. Kind of old.

Mr. Williams: You mother and I have a healthy sex life.

A thud comes from the bedroom. Mr. Williams grows more anxious as he stands before his son with guilt on his face.

Xavier (disappointedly): Moms not in the room, is she.

Mr. Williams (ashamed): Xavier.

Xavier hurriedly races back down the stairs.

Mr. Williams (ashamed): Xavier! Come back here.

Mr. Williams hears the door slamming.

Scene 5: Outside Degrassi. Afternoon

Isabella, Kenzie, and Marcel exit out of Degrassi. Isabella releases a scream of relief, which confuses everyone else.

Isabella: We're finally free from practice.

Carina approaches her friends on the steps in front of the school.

Marcel: I genuinely believe your mother is trying to kill us.

Isabella: At least you don't live with her.

Marcel: Drinks at the Dot?

Carina: Isabella and I have a project due.

Isabella (groaning): I forgot. I promised Manny a date.

Carina: It's due tomorrow.

Amina and Nolan exit the school.

Nolan: I'll see you tonight, right, Isabella?

Isabella: Tonight?

Nolan: The Queer Alliances mixer at Above the Dot. Amina said you told the student council you would host it tonight with me.

Amina: You're the social coordinator. It was your idea to have it in the first place.

Isabella: Right. Nolan, I will meet you at Above the Dot before the event.

Nolan: Thank you. I will see you then.

Amina and Nolan proceed to leave.

Isabella: Rinibini, let's get together and work on this project.

Carina: What about Manny?

Isabella: I will shoot him a text and reschedule.

Isabella takes hold of Carina and leads her away from the others.

Marcel: I guess it's just you and me. Should we go to the Dot?

Kenzie: I think we shall.

Kenzie clutches hold of Marcel's arm as the two walk down the street.

Scene 6: The Dot. Afternoon

Marcel and Kenzie enter the Dot. As they make their way to a table, Marcel notices K.C. approaching outside the window. Kenzie waves to get K.C.'s attentions.

Marcel (whispering): I thought it would be just us.

Kenzie has a confused look on her face.

Kenzie: It is just us. K.C. has hung out plenty of times with us.

Marcel (whispering): But he wasn't your boyfriend.

K.C. arrives at the table.

K.C.: It looks hectic in here. Maybe we can catch a movie at your place instead?

Kenzie starts to gather her things without a second thought or regard for Marcel's feelings.

Marcel (confused): Um?

Kenzie: You can come too, Cell.

Marcel: You two go.

Kenzie: You're a doll, babes.

Kenzie kisses Marcel on the cheek as she follows K.C. out of the Dot. Madison appears and takes a seat at the table.

Madison: It's hard when you and your best friend start drifting. I went through something similar once I started transitioning.

Marcel: It sucks! What's worst is that all my friends are off doing things or getting boyfriends.

Madison pulls out a flyer and slides it to Marcel.

Madison: Above the Dot is having a mixer tonight. You should join. You might make some new friends. Plus, I'll be there, and I heard that I'm a good time.

Madison gives him a wink as she rises from the table and makes her leave. Marcel begins to glance over the flyer.

Scene 7: Williams' Household. Night

Mr. Williams is waiting silently at the dining room table. Then, finally, he hears the door opening. He makes his way into the hall, where he comes face to face with his son.

Mr. Williams: I've been worried about you. Where have you been?

Xavier closes the door.

Xavier: I went for a walk.

Mr. Williams: Your mother is going to be home soon. I just wanted to clear up any misunderstanding.

Xavier: You're having an affair. There is no misunderstanding, dad!

Mr. Williams tries to approach his son, but the door opens. Mrs. Williams enters the house struggling to carry in the grocery bags.

Mrs. Williams: Can I have a little help, boys?

Xavier takes the bags and makes his way into the kitchen. Mrs. Williams notices the tension in the room.

Mrs. Williams: Is everything okay, Robert?

Mr. Williams: Everything is fine. You know how teenagers are these days.

Mr. Williams kisses his wife on the cheek before escorting her into the kitchen.

Scene 8: Above the Dot. Night

Isabella maneuvers her way through the line cutting multiple people. Then, finally, she makes her way inside, scanning the room for Nolan, who is on the stage speaking to Amina.

Nolan: You made it!

Isabella leans closer to Nolan.

Isabella: I can't stay long. I have to meet my boyfriend.

Nolan: We still have a few things to set up, but stay a while. Grab a mocktail. Just relax.

Isabella: 10 minutes then I have to go.

Nolan: Alright. Let me check in with Amina.

Isabella proceeds to the drink table. In the distance, Marcel enters the venue with reservations. He looks around, not seeing any familiar faces. He starts to make his way into a corner, where he notices Madison dancing. She was in her element, and her confidence took Marcel.

Madison dances her way through the crowd until she is in front of Marcel.

Madison: I see you made it.

Marcel: All my friends seem to be busy.

Madison: Then it's time for you to make some new friends.

Madison grabs hold of Marcel's hand and leads Marcel to the dancefloor. She starts to dance around him, which eventually gets Marcel moving and dancing. Cooper appears, causing Marcel to become nervous. Madison notices the chemistry between the two.

Madison: This is my GBF, Cooper.

Cooper: Marcel, wasn't it? I remember you from the cheer competition.

Marcel (fumbling): Hey. Hi.

Madison: Let's have fun, fellas!

Madison pulls Marcel in front of Cooper as they start to dance with one another. A smile comes across Marcel's face. Meanwhile, Nolan carries cases of water to the drink table. Isabella appears behind him.

Isabella: I have to go. It's been almost an hour.

Nolan: I'm sorry. Let's get you on stage.

Isabella and Nolan make their way to the stage.

Scene 8: Williams' Household. Morning

Xavier walks into the kitchen, where his father sits, reading the paper. Xavier quietly pours himself a glass of juice.

Mr. Williams: Can we finish our conversation from the other night?

Xavier: I don't think there is anything left to say. You need to tell mom, or I will.

Xavier grabs his bookbag and proceeds to exit the house.

Scene 9: Degrassi (Main Foyer/Hallway). Morning

Marcel enters Degrassi to see Madison approaching his locker. As he makes his way over to her, he is stopped by Kenzie.

Kenzie: Hey, babes! Walk me to class?

Marcel looks over Kenzie's shoulder to Madison, who is waiting.

Marcel: I'm actually going to walk with Madison.

Kenzie turns around to see Madison waving at both of them.

Kenzie: Um, okay, I guess. I didn't think my best friend would ditch me.

Marcel scuffs at the statement.

Marcel: Yeah. It doesn't feel so nice.

Marcel brushes past Kenzie as he makes his way to Madison. Kenzie watches as the two head down the hall laughing. She felt jealous.

Scene 10: Degrassi (J.T Memorial Garden). Morning

Manny is sitting in the memorial garden reading a book. Isabella walks inside with a look of guilt on her face.

Isabella: Hey.

Manny closes his book. You can see the disappointment written on his face.

Isabella: Manny, I am so sorry.

Manny: I waited for you. I had planned this romantic picnic for us.

Isabella: I know. I know, but I tried to make it, but

Manny: There are no buts, Izzy. I get that you have other obligations, but I think you're taking on more than you can handle. So I think we should take some time.

Isabella: Are you breaking up with me?

Manny grabs Isabella's hands.

Manny: I think your focus should be on school.

Manny kisses Isabella on the cheek and proceeds to exit. Carina enters to see Isabella trying to remain her composure. Carina wraps her arms around Isabella as they stand in silence.

Scene 11: Degrassi (Gymnasium). Afternoon

Xavier is dribbling the ball down the court. Sweat was dripping down his body. He begins to take off his shirt when Lily enters the gym. She becomes mesmerized by Xavier's glistening body.

Xavier: I thought you were off Power Squad?

He takes a seat on the bleachers and begins to wipe the sweat.

Lily (flustered): What?

Xavier: Are you okay?

Lily gets herself together and approaches the bleaches.

Lily: I heard the ball from the hall. I thought it might be you in here.

Xavier: Well, you found me.

Lily takes a seat.

Lily: You don't look like your usual self. Is everything okay?

Xavier (growing frustrated): I don't want to talk about it.

Xavier goes back onto the court playing basketball. Lily slowly begins to walk over to him.

Lily (softly): Maybe we don't have to talk then.

Lily slowly begins to walk over to him. Xavier turns to her to see she has a look in her eyes.

Xavier: What are you doing, Lily?

Lily (softly): You seem so stressed.

Lily wraps her around him as their bodies press against each other. Xavier had a look of confusion., but Lily began to kiss him.
