*Taylor's POV*
Raphael and I finally caught up with Simon and he freaked out when he saw us.
"Hey! Hey!" Simon yelled as he looked at us.
"Where do you think you're going" I asked.
"I don't know. I can see my reflection, does that mean I'm not... not... one of you?" Simon asked as he looked in the cracked mirror.
"You have a lot to learn." Raphael replied.
"This can't be happening." Simon said before trying to walk off.
"Listen..." Raphael said as he grabbed Simon's shoulder.
"Don't touch me! I don't have a heartbeat! I'm dead." Simon growled as he turned to us.
"Undead." I corrected.
"You did this to me." Simon growled at Raphael.
"No, I didn't." Raphael replied calmly.
"You're a monster! I'm the monster." Simon said.
"Look, you gotta get this under control. You are what you are now." I started.
"We'll get you back to the Hotel DuMort. Get you fed. Show you around your new home." Raphael finished.
"That place will never be my home." Simon growled before throwing Raphael in the van and running off.
*End of POV*
Serena and I ran after Jace and Clary as they ran after Simon. I knew that we needed to let Raphael and Taylor handle him, but Clary doesn't think that, so here we are.
"I swear, if that kid ruins one more jacket..." Raphael said as we came across him and Taylor.
"Where is he?" Clary asked.
"He'll be back." Taylor replied.
"You just let him go? You said you'd look after him." Jace said as he looked between Raphael and Taylor.
"I can't do that until he's ready." Raphael said.
"What does that mean?" I asked.
"It means he's where everybody goes when this happens. His own personal hell." Taylor replied.
"I... I did this. I put him there." Clary said.
She finally gets it! She should've done what was best for Simon, not what was best for her.
"If it helps, he doesn't even remember it was you. Those first minutes... a complete blank." Raphael said.
"But I have to tell him the truth." Clary said.
Is she serious right now? Please tell me she isn't serious.
"Once you rein him in, he'll be walking, talking proof to the Clave that Camille broke the Accords. In fact, as a new leader..." Raphael started to say.
"Okay, just stop it! I don't care about your vampire politics! We have to find Simon." Clary interrupted.
I felt Taylor tense up, so I place my hand on her arm to help calm her down. I guess it worked because she gave me a smile.
"We will." Jace added.
Of course he's going to say that because he wants to please Clary.
"He's out there, he's alone... scared... he's hungry." Clary said.
"Give us a call when he turns up. He'll need our help." Raphael said as he walked past us.
When he did, Raphael lightly patted my arm, and I greatly appreciated it. Taylor hugged me before following Raphael.
"I think we've had just about enough of your help." Jace said.
I was going to say something, but I decided against it because I knew it would only lead to a fight.
"What are you doing?" Clary asked.
"Getting reinforcements." Jace replied as he made a phone call.
Izzy answered and told us that there was an attack on the Institute and that both Hodge and Alec were hurt. I felt like we needed to head back, but I know that Clary isn't going to like that idea. We ended up splitting up and Serena had told me to go with Clary to help with Simon. Clary tried to talk to me the whole time we were walking to get Luke, but I kept ignoring her because I wasn't in the mood.
"Simon is gonna hate me. Luke, I did a terrible thing." Clary said as Luke came out to us.
"It can't be undone. I found my way back, your mother helped me. When he understands that both of you are there for him..." Luke said.
"But how could he know that if we can't find him?" Clary asked as we headed out the door.
Why in the hell would Serena think it was a good idea for me to go with Clary? The only reason why I'm still here is because of Simon, and I'm not going to let Clary get in the way of what he needs right now.
*Serena's POV*
"Hey. You alright?" Jace asked as he and I entered the training room.
"I'm fine." Alec replied softly.
"We just spoke to Robert and Maryse. They're being sent back to Idris." I told the others.
"What?" Izzy questioned.
"Yeah." Jace replied.
"Another "order" from Lydia?" Izzy asked as she looked at Alec.
"Who's Lydia?" I asked.
"She's in charge of the Institute." Izzy replied.
"She's what?" Jace asked.
"Temporarily." Alec replied.
"And now she's convinced the Clave that mom and dad aren't doing their job?" Izzy questioned.
"Well, maybe they aren't. The Institute was under their control when the Forsaken got in." Alec replied.
"What are you talking about?" I questioned.
"Mom and dad were members of the Circle." Alec replied.
"What? They don't have Circle runes." Izzy said.
"That's because they made a deal with the Clave prior to the Uprising. In exchange for their cooperation, they were pardoned." Alec replied.
"You're questioning their loyalty?" I asked.
"Valentine is back. The Circle is rising. They're under suspicion." Alec replied.
"No way. Robert and Maryse took both me and Serena in. They raised us as one of their own. We know what kind of people they are." Jace said and I completely agree.
"Are you sure? They lied to us. For years, they've been telling us how to act. That we have to uphold the Lightwood name. Well, they're the ones who tarnished it. They're hypocrites." Alec said.
"You must be Jace Wayland and Serena Ravengem. Lydia Branwell. Both of you are quite the legends back in Idris." this girl said as she entered the room.
"Don't believe everything you hear." Jace said.
"Did you tell them?" Lydia asked Alec.
"Tell us what?" Izzy asked and I'm wondering the same thing.
"Lydia and I are engaged." Alec replied.
"We're getting married." Lydia added.
Does she not know that being engaged means getting married?
"You're not serious." I said as I looked between the two of them.
"You were supposed to tell them "no." It's your life to ruin." Izzy said before leaving.
"Not sure what to say." Jace said.
"How about, "None of this matters"? We have to stop Valentine." Alec said.
"Finally. Something we agree on." I said as both Jace and I left the room.
*End of POV*
Clary, Luke, and I finally caught up with Simon, who was at home, and I let Clary do all the talking because she's the one that did this. Luke waited with me and when they emerged, Simon gave me a big hug.
"You know I love you, right?" I asked Simon.
"I do and I love you too." Simon replied as he hugged me again.
As we started walking, all I wanted to do was help Simon, but I knew that he was going to need more than just our help.
"I feel sick." Simon said.
"Don't worry, we'll get you what you need." Luke said.
"I need this to stop." Simon said.
"I've been there before. It'll get better." Luke told him.
"We'll help you through this." Clary said.
"No, you can't. Clary, Scarlett, I was a regular guy. I had a life. A regular life. And today... I almost tore my mother apart. What if I do that to either of you?" Simon asked.
"Simon, you won't." Clary replied for both of us.
Simon jerked away from her and walked off. Clary told Luke to go get the car and I just followed after Simon and Clary.
"Once you feed..." I started to say.
"Feed? Are either of you kidding? That's what this is now? That's what my life's about? Like I'm in a zoo?" Simon asked as he interrupted me.
"I'm... I am so sorry!" Clary said.
"Why are you sorry, Raphael did this to me." Simon said confused.
Here it comes. Clary is fixing to tell Simon the truth. I hope it's a good thing and not a bad thing.
"Simon, it was our... I mean my choice. (Clary corrected herself after I cleared my throat) You died. Raphael brought you to us. I had a choice. I could stake your heart or I could... bury you, and you could come back." Clary told Simon.
"Oh... Clary, why?" Simon asked.
"Because we love you, Simon." Clary replied.
"You call that love? You brought me back to this? This nothing... where I feed, and I have to hide from the sun, and I can't bear to be by the people I love? Did you ever think about that, Clary? How I would feel, what I would be?" Simon asked, clearly angry.
"Simon, please understand..." Clary tried to say.
"Just stay away from me." Simon growled out.
*Serena's POV*
"This is insane. We have to put a stop to this." Izzy said as we surrounded the computer that showed the interrogation room.
"Yeah, well, enjoy portaling back to Idris with mom and dad." Alec said.
Is he being serious right now? Please tell me he isn't being serious.
"Meliorn is here because of me." Izzy said.
"Alec's right. There's nothing we can do to stop this interrogation." Jace said.
"You're on Alec's side now?" Izzy asked and looked between Jace and myself, even though I haven't said a word, yet.
"We swore to protect each other, of course he's on my side." Alec said.
"Serena and I are not picking side. Jace Wayland and Serena Ravengem are Switzerland. We have got to find Valentine. Let's let this play out, Izzy. Meliorn might have some important information." Jace said.
I'm like Izzy with this because something just isn't sitting right with me.
"Still think we should let this play out?" Izzy asked after Meliorn told Lydia that Clary had the Cup.
We followed everyone to Clary's room and I couldn't help but thank God that Scarlett isn't Valentine's daughter.
"I'm pretty sure that's not the Cup you're looking for." Jace growled as he grabbed Clary's bra from Raj.
"Give me a break, Wayland. I'm just doing my job." Raj said.
"Alec, call this off now." I pleaded.
"I guess Clary's bedroom is in part of Switzerland." Alec said.
I get he's pissed about his parents, but Alec needs to realize that he's letting his emotions cloud his judgment.
"We can't call it off. We have to find the Mortal Cup." Lydia said.
Can I hit her, please? She is really rubbing me the wrong way.
"It's all clear." another Shadowhunter said.
"Of course it is. It's not here. Let's keep looking." Lydia said before everyone started leaving.
"What is going on with you?" I asked before Jace could.
"Look, Jace, Serena, we have to turn over the Cup." Alec told us.
"Alec, she's risked everything to find it." Jace said.
"And we've risked everything for her. Either she gives the Cup to Lydia, or I'll do it myself." Alec told us.
"I'll bring her back. But, please, let Clary be the one to give the Cup to the Clave. We owe her that much." Jace sighed.
"It's the right call. You'll see. How's Scar holding up?" Alec asked as he turned from Jace to me.
"She's holding up as good as she's gonna get." I replied with a sigh.
Alec nodded his head and left the room. I glanced over at Jace and noticed that he took a pic of his blocking rune.
*End of POV*
"Just drink." Luke said as he handed Simon a blood bag.
"You can do it, Simon." I encouraged.
Clary's phone dinged and then it started ringing.
"Hey, what's with the picture?" Clary asked and I knew that it had to be Jace.
"Draw it. Now. It's a blocking rune. It prevents anyone from finding you using Shadowhunter tracking. Also, tell Scarlett to activate hers as well." Jace said.
"You'll see, it'll get better." Luke told Simon.
I helped Clary with the rune and then activated mine.
"Clary, the Clave heard you have the Cup. They think you're working with Valentine." Jace said.
"Oh, my God. Why would they..." I started to say.
"Wait, Jace, is the Cup secure?" Clary interrupted.
"It will be. You and Scarlett need to get someplace safe. Someplace the Clave would never look. Serena and I will find you." Jace said before hanging up.
"We'll go to the Jade Wolf." Clary said as we walked back over to Luke and Simon.
"The Clave knows both of you are like family. They'll look there first." Luke said.
I knew exactly where I would hide because the Clave would never think to look there, but I know that both Simon and Clary are going to refuse so I'm going to let Clary take this one, since she's the center of it all.
"Simon, we're going to see the one person who can help all of us." Clary sighed.
"Have you lost your mind? A Shadowhunter and a werewolf? You do know this isn't a hotel?" Raphael questioned as he looked at us.
Did he forget that I'm a Shadowhunter too, or did he purposely do it because him and Taylor actually like me?
"Technically, it is." Simon replied.
"Even starvation can't shut you up." Taylor sighed.
"Look, we just need someplace secure until we figure out a plan." Clary sighed.
"These people never listen. Don't bother. Let's go." Luke said.
"You should put a muzzle on that mutt. The fledgling and Scarlett can stay. But you aren't exactly welcome after you barbecued half a dozen of our people." Raphael said.
Luke, Clary, and Simon were shocked when he said that, but I wasn't because I knew that they both liked me.
"Let's go, please. I don't want any part of this." Simon begged.
"Look, there isn't any place safe. You need Simon back, right? To prove Camille broke the Accords. What good will he be if he dies of starvation?" Clary asked as she practically blackmailed Raphael.
"Fine, but the stray waits outside." Taylor sighed.
"If anything happens to these three, you won't have to wait til sun up, I'll kill both of you myself." Luke said as he flashed his eyes.
"Easy there, Fido. They'll be under our protection." Raphael said.
I followed after I gave Taylor a hug, since I missed her, even though I just saw her not too long ago, and Clary and Simon soon followed.
*Serena's POV*
"Where are you taking him?" Izzy asked as Meliorn was led away.
"To a holding cell. And a guard unit will transport him to the Silent Brothers." Lydia replied.
"You can't do that!" Izzy and I exclaimed together.
"It's not our decision, Isabelle, Serena. The Clave made the order." Alec said.
"That could be a death sentence to a Downworlder." Jace added.
"Are you trying to start a war with them? Meliorn told you everything he knows." I said.
I'm about to beat a bitch's ass if she says something the wrong way. I may not be as close to Meliorn as Izzy is, but even I know this isn't right.
"You don't know that. Maybe we haven't asked the right questions. Seelies often skirt the truth. If he has information on another terrorist attack, it is our responsibility to get it." Lydia replied.
"Let me talk to him." Izzy said.
"That wasn't exactly helpful in the past." Lydia said.
If I knew that I wouldn't get arrested, I would beat this girl's ass right here, right now.
"But he may not know anything. Alec, this is going too far." Jace said.
"We don't have a choice." Alec said.
Jace, Izzy, and I met with Magnus in the training room to come up with a plan to help Clary and Scarlett.
"And neither do we." Jace said as he added to what Alec had said.
"Let me get this straight. You need Alec's stele to open the safe, and you want me to steal it from him?" Magnus asked.
"We prefer the word "borrow."" I replied.
"Without his knowledge." Izzy added.
"Magnus, ever since Alec found out our parents were in the Circle, he's been messed up. He can't see the big picture." Jace said.
"If the Clave is willing to subject Meliorn to the Silent Brothers, if they're willing to go this far... what do you think will happen if they get the Cup? This affects everyone." Izzy continued.
"Help us get into that safe. Help us stop this." Jace added.
"All three of you are going to owe me. I'm talking 14th century. Gold, rubies... definitely diamonds. And Alec can never know." Magnus said.
"That's given." Jace said.
"If we're going to do this... there's no turning back." Magnus said as all of us looked at each other.
*End of POV*
Clary and Simon walked into this small room and I couldn't help the small giggle that left my lips when Raphael closed a gate on them.
"So this is your idea of protection?" Clary asked as she glared at Raphael.
"It keeps you away from my people, and my people away from you. Give a shout when you're hungry. Of course, you do have a pretty decent snack right here, no? Oh, silly me. I forgot... you two are such great friends. Or has that changed?" Raphael replied before talking to Simon.
Taylor got me comfortable on the couch and I was thankful because I'm tired as hell.
"Holler if you need anything." Taylor told me.
I nodded my head and gave them a smile because I feel so much safer here. I must've dozed off because the next thing I know, I'm being woken up from Simon yelling, "Raphael!"
"You ready now?" Raphael asked.
"Yes." Simon replied.
Taylor and I joined Raphael and I could tell that Raphael was enjoying this a little too much.
"Please." Simon begged.
I lightly nudged Raphael and he glanced at me before saying, "Here you go."
He handed Simon a glass of blood and Simon drunk it without a problem. Clary turned her head and I was trying not to think about it.
"It's all about presentation and quality product. You see, us vampires look after one another. We take care of our family." Raphael said as he had the empty glass refilled.
"Simon already has a family." Clary argued back.
"Had a family. That's all gonna change now. You're a Shadowhunter... he's a vamp. You two will never be equals. You'll have to learn that for yourself. Hasta luego." Raphael said before handing Simon another glass and walking off.
Taylor and I went back to the couch and both of us just sat down and talked.
*Serena's POV*
I can't believe we're fixing to go against Alec, but he needs to learn that you can't let your emotions cloud your judgment. He seems to have forgotten that and it's about time we show him what the hell he's doing and who it can hurt.
"You might want to pick up the pace." Jace told Izzy as she started packing her stuff.
"You do not wanna be on my bad side right now." Izzy growled back.
"Are you gonna be okay?" I asked Izzy.
"The whole world is turning upside down. Simon turned into a vampire. Now Meliorn might die because of some..." Izzy started to reply.
"It's not anything you did. They just put a bunch of unrelated facts together, and came up with a big lie." Jace interrupted.
"I wish that made me feel better." Izzy sighed.
We turned to leave but were met with Hodge.
"Where do you think you're going? It's a very dangerous time, and no one is supposed to leave the premises without express orders." Hodge told us.
"Hodge, we were just about to..." Izzy went to say.
"Lie to me?" Hodge questioned.
"Scarlett and Clary need us, Hodge. The Clave is looking for them. They could be in serious danger." I explained.
"Well, in that case, I'd make a timely exist before anyone of importance notices you're gone." Hodge said.
"We won't forget this." Jace said before we continued on out.
*End of POV*
Taylor and I talked about everything we could and I was happy for us to get to know each other better. We only stopped talking when Raphael came back into the room.
"It appears the cavalry has arrived. You'll wanna use the back stairs." Raphael said as he opened the gate.
Clary, Simon, and I left but I fist-bumped Taylor on the way out. I knew that if I ever wanted to leave the Institute for good, then I would have somewhere to go. Once we got outside, Clary naturally ran into Jace's arms, Simon went to Luke, and I went to Izzy and Serena. I didn't hear anything that Jace said to Clary but I didn't really want to.
"So this is your safe hideout, huh?" Jace asked as they pulled apart.
"Well, you think the Clave was gonna look here?" Clary replied.
"Can we please focus on the matter at hand? Unless no one cares that the Clave is planning on murdering Meliorn." Izzy said.
"What?" Clary, Simon, and I asked together.
"They think Meliorn has more information on Valentine and the attack than he's saying." Jace replied.
"They're taking him to the Silent Brothers." Izzy added.
"We have to stop them." I said.
"That's the plan, Scar. Rescue and recovery." Serena said.
"We get him from the guards, in and out, no one gets hurts." Izzy said.
"You want us to go up against the Silent Brothers, and an elite Shadowhunter guard unit?" Clary questioned.
"Without any backup?" Luke added.
"Pretty much sums it up, yeah." Jace replied.
"Is Alec coming?" I asked once I noticed that Alec wasn't with them.
Jace, Izzy, and Serena shared looks and that gave me my answer.
"No. Not this time." Jace replied.
"If they're doing this to Seelies, no Downworlder is safe. But we can't go in alone, not if we don't want to be detected." Clary said.
"My pack will track the unit, create a distraction." Luke said.
"I would suggest vampire, but... I doubt they'll cooperate." Simon added.
"As much as I hate to agree with Simon, vamps aren't exactly team players." Jace said.
"Let me talk to Raphael. I think I can persuade him." Clary said.
Everyone was hesitant but then Clary decided to continue on.
"If I can't then I'm sure that Scarlett can, since she's close with Taylor." Clary added.
I glared at her and would've attacked her if Serena wasn't holding my wrist. We headed inside and I could only imagine where this was going to go.
"We're offering an alliance with the Seelies." Clary said.
We then looked over at Luke and I could tell that he really didn't want to say anything.
"And the werewolves." Luke sighed.
"Why should we believe you? You killed our people. You violated our home." Raphael fired back.
"You kidnapped a mundane and a Shadowhunter, remember?" Jace asked back.
"That was us." Simon said as he pointed at both me and him.
"Look... you were just following Camille's orders. She violated the Accords. You are a different kind of leader. We are a new generation of Shadowhunters. We believe everyone can be equal. But we have to work together to stop Valentine. And to ensure the Clave doesn't repeat past mistakes. What do you say?" Clary asked.
"This decision requires a consensus." Raphael replied.
Clary glanced at me and I knew that she knew that Raphael wasn't going to agree with her, so she wanted me to say something. Raphael glanced at me and I just kept quiet.
"I vote yes." Simon decided to say when no one else did.
"Well, well, well, baby's first words." Taylor taunted.
"Don't make me regret them." Simon told her.
"If our newest member pledges his loyalty to his new leader and joins our clan... we'll all stand beside you." Raphael said.
"Simon's not a pawn." Clary said.
"No... I'm not. But I accept your deal." Simon said.
"Simon, what are you doing?" Clary questioned.
"Whatever it takes to protect the Downworld. It's my world now." Simon replied.
Simon glanced over at me and I gave him a smile. He is making me so proud right now.
"Then we're in." Raphael said.
We all joined each other and met in an alleyway. I'm still pissed that Alec isn't here with us, but hopefully after this, we can set him straight.
"This does not look like the City of Bones." Clary said.
"This is the Downworlders entrance." Jace said.
"The City of Bones has a service entrance. Perfect." Clary said.
"I hope I have better luck here than I did last time. I'm just saying." Simon said before Jace gave him a look.
"Everyone knows what to do?" I asked.
"Text when you're in position." Jace added.
Raphael decided to whistle as Luke started to walk off.
"Stay. Good dog." Raphael said.
"Bite me." Luke said.
"Roll over." Raphael said.
"Play dead." Luke said.
"Boom!" Simon exclaimed before fist-bumping Luke.
One wolf decided to shoulder bump Simon, which led to Raphael and the others to hiss, which in turn made the wolves growl. Clary and I stepped in the middle and put a stop to the ensuing fight.
"Hey, enough!" I yelled.
"Enough! All our lives are at stake! It's time we out our differences aside, and work together!" Clary added.
"Tonight we're all Downworlders." I finished.
"Luke?" Clary asked as she turned her head to look at him.
Luke nodded his head like I knew he would because he loves us.
"Raphael?" I asked as I turned to look at him.
Raphael looked at me before nodding his head. We watched as both the vamps and the werewolves went their separate ways and I could tell this was going to be a long mission.
"I guess I should expect people to hate me for who I am now. I'll get used to it." Simon said.
"Never get used to it. You hear me?" Clary asked.
"Let's do this." Izzy said.
Simon gave us a nod before he walked off with Izzy. Serena went with them and I stayed with Clary and Jace. You would think that I would be far from them, but this isn't the time for our drama.
*Serena's POV*
I followed Taylor, Raphael, Simon, and Izzy and got to know Taylor a little better. She's taken a liking to Scarlett and any one who protects Scarlett is a friend of mine.
"So what are we thinking? A little encanto action?" Simon asked.
Taylor and I giggled because even though we were in an intense situation, Simon was trying to keep the peace.
"You know there's a rune for that." I replied.
"Of course there is." Simon sighed as he looked at me.
"Just watch and learn from the master." Raphael said.
"Remember... no one gets hurt." Izzy told Raphael.
I don't think Raphael will hurt anyone because he knows that if someone does get hurt, then Scarlett will be pissed.
*End of POV*
Clary, Jace, and I got to where we could see the entrance to the City of Bones. Jace then drew a rune on Clary that would sharpen her vision, and I wasn't expecting what she was fixing to say.
"Alec? What's he doing here? Oh, no." Clary said.
Jace and I looked at each other before activating our runes and seeing for ourselves.
"Damn it. Lydia must have sent him." Jace growled.
"Lydia?" Clary and I asked together.
"Alec's future wife. Don't ask." Jace replied.
"Just say the word, and we'll call the whole thing off." Clary said.
"No, there's no turning back now. So whatever happens, follow my lead." Jace said.
We met up with Alec and Meliorn and I hope this plan doesn't go to hell, but knowing our luck, it will.
"Alec." Clary and I called out.
Alec turned to look at us before turning back around and meeting Jace.
"You told me you were taking Clary and Scarlett back to the Institute. You lied to me." Alec said.
"I did what needed to be done." Jace said.
"Alec, the Clave has gone too far. You have to see that. Please, just let Meliorn go." I pleaded.
"I have my orders." Alec said.
"You and your damn orders. Who cares about orders?" Clary scoffed.
"See? That's how little you know about being a Shadowhunter. You couldn't possibly understand..." Alec growled.
"It's you that doesn't understand, Alec. Not this time." Jace said.
"I'm a Shadowhunter and I couldn't care less about your damn orders. You know this is wrong and you're willing to start a war over nothing. Let's end this and let Meliorn go." I growled out.
Alec just walked past me and Clary and I knew that either Jace or myself needed to stop him now.
"I'm really sorry." Jace said before attacking Alec.
Clary and I stuck with Meliorn and I hope this foes our way.
"Clary, Scarlett, Meliorn, go, now." Jace called out to us.
We took off but I decided to go back. Something just told me to go back and I was glad that I did because I was not expecting the conversation that I heard.
"Do it. Do it! I don't wanna be alive if we're on different sides, Alec." Jace said as Alec held his Seraph blade to Jace's throat.
Alec let him go and I didn't know whether or not to join them or let this play out, so I decided to let this play out because it's not my fight.
"Come with me. We'll fight Valentine the right way... together." Jace pleaded with Alec.
"If we do that... we'll be considered traitors like mom and dad." Alec said.
"I'm begging you, my parabatai... my brother. Please, Alec, come with me." Jace pleaded again.
"No." Alec said after taking time to answer.
I could tell that broke Jace's heart and he was shocked when he joined me. I hugged him tight to let him know that I was there. I may be pissed that he hurt m, but I'm putting my pride aside to be there for him. We met up with the others and ended up at the Hotel Dumort. Simon and Clary talked and I could tell when they hugged that it hurt Jace. I decided to hug Jace because I didn't know what I would do if I lost Clary. We headed out to Izzy and Meliorn and I was glad to see that they were hopefully back together.
"I hate to break up this reunion, Izzy, but we have to go." Jace said.
"You're in good hands. I need to get back to the Institute, see what hell has broken loose. Try and talk some sense into Alec with Serena. (Izzy the sighed) Take care of him." Izzy said before looking at me, Jace, and Clary.
"We will." Clary and I said together.
Izzy then kissed Meliorn and took off. I hope her and Serena can talk some sense into Alec because he needs to fix things with Jace.
"Isabelle told me it was your idea to rally the Downworlders. That you spearheaded my rescue." Meliorn said as he turned to look at us.
"Don't give me too much credit. Isabelle made this happen. We just helped." Clary said.
"She's being modest. You're a Shadowhunter now, along with Scarlett." Jace added.
"I've been surprised by more than one Shadowhunter tonight. You risked everything to unite us." Meliorn said as he looked from Clary to me.
"Right after you tried to sell her out." Jace said.
"Not my finest moment. Which is why I'm offering you a gift... for your sacrifice. If you're ready... I can help you find your father." Meliorn said.
Clary, Jace, and I all shared shocked looks. I didn't know whether or not this was good or bad, but I guess we can play this out and see what happens.
